Hi Jay
Unfortunately...No such tool exist....But that would be one great tool! You'll have to reconstruct your disc in flash.
You can extract your MPEG streams and convert them to flash.
Check on videohelp's toolsite. They have a messload of great tools:

  • How can I save my iMovie Project to a DVD or Flash Drive which can be played on a PC and any DVD player

I have an iMac, purchased in January 2011. How can I save an iMovie project to a DVD or Flash Drive which can be played on a PC or any DVD player

I will give you a basic primer, not going to get to in depth, as far as parameters, size of project, or the storage size of your usb flash drive, etc.
    1. you have your finished iMovie project. Under iMovie>Share menu. Choose export using quicktime.
    2. make Movie self contained. This way your Mov, Mvi, etc files will be part of the movie and it can play without having to reference the events, because it is actually there.
    3. so, now on your desktop  ( or any where else set up quicktime to save your file) you will see a quicktime file.
Drag & Drop that file on to the icon of your USB Flash Drive, etc.
    4. Details that I omitted because I admit I am not well versed. Most Likely that quicktime file is larger than your USB Flash Drive. You have to use one of quicktime compression work flows, also if you open the just created quicktime file. It will open quicktime player and under the File>Export you have to options. I have a Movie that was 42GB 1080P, I exported it as a 720P, so it would still be playable on a large screen and now the new file was less than 2.5GB.
    5. Oh, no i just realized that the file should be playable on a PC, as long as the PC has quicktime for windows installled and you left that USB formated at MS DOS as it came originally, or a PC will not recognize it. Will it open up on your Blu-Ray Player that has a USB port, not sure. Since there is no menu. but, perhaps just pushing play will start movie.
Hope this is of some help.

  • Porting/converting an interactive DVD to Flash/SWF/FLV?

Is it possible to make a complete mirror port or conversion of an existing interactive DVD to Flash (swf+flv) so that I can put it online and interact with it with my mouse through a flash enabled browser, just like were running on a DVD player, with all the existing interactivity (menus, chapters) intact? I know about Adobe Encore CS4:
http://www.adobe.com/products/premiere/e... (See "Publishing of DVD projects to the web")
but I can't see that you can import an exisiting DVD into Encore. You would first have to build your own menus, chapters, timeline, etc., then you could export it to Flash...
If this is not possible in Encore CS4, how can I do this?  Thanks

It's not possible with Encore - you must have an Encore project, and DVD is not an importable source in Encore.
I don't know if there is even any software in existence which could do what you are asking.

  • Import from DVD or Flash Drive??

I have tried to import into my Library on iTunes from DVD and Flash Drive. They play in iTunes fine as long as I have the DVD or flash Drive inserted in my computer but if I take them out of my computer and click on a song, a window comes up saying file cannot be played because it cannot be found.
I would like these items to download into iTunes and onto my hard drive but it keeps trying to read from my DVD or flash drive I guess. How can I import these items from the DVD or flash drive onto my hard drive?
I have iTunes 7 and run Windows Vista.
    Thanks for your time.

Check your iTunes preferences. Go to Edit>Preferences>Advanced>Importing and make sure the box "Copy files to iTunes Music folder when adding to library" is checked. That way when you add files from one of your external sources they'll be copied to the computer. If this box isn't checked iTunes simply added a reference to the song's current location which of course is no longer accessible when you remove the drive or disk.

  • Can I copy installESD.dmg to DVD or Flash and install on a different Mac?

I have downloaded Lion to my Macbook Pro.  We live in a rural area and are on a "low speed" high speed internet connection, so it took me ~24 hours to download.  I have not yet begun the installation process, and have copied the installesd.dmg from the install folder to  my desktop. We have 3 macs in our house, and I don't want to have to try to download again, as the process is so slow.  Can I just copy the installesd.dmg to a DVD or flash drive to install it on the other 2 macs?
If this is possible, do I have to do anything special? Can I install from the flash or DVD or do I need to copy onto the target mac first?  Although both other macs are backed up using time machine, I'm a little nervous about just launching an installation without really knowing what I'm doing.

No, you can't just copy the InstallESD.dmg file to a DVD or USB thumb drive IF you want to boot from those media and install Lion. You can follow the instructions here to burn a bootable DVD or restore a bootable USB thumb drive. You have already completed some of the steps. Just follow the steps to create a bootable DVD or USB thumb drive. The bootable media allows you to use Disk Utilities or the other Mac OS X Utilities if you need to prepare the volume you're installing on.

  • Outputting a DVD To Flash Video in Encore 3 Under Leopard

This topic is indirectly related to Final Cut Pro 6 (since it is the source of my Quicktime movies in Encore 3) and I post it here because I have had no luck getting any responses on other forums including the Creative Cow and Adobe forums.
I have recently purchased the Adobe Production Premium package and successfully prepared several Blu-ray and standard definition DVD's using Encore 3. However, whenever I attempt to output any of these DVD's to Flash Video by selecting Build>Output to Flash from within Encore 3, my menus transcode, but when Encore gets to my timeline video, the progress bar goes to about 20% almost instantly and remains there forever. I have tried several different types of video files including short Quicktime movies created in Final Cut Pro as well as other formats in the Encore 3 timeline. The result is always as given above. When this happens, I finally have to Force Quit Encore 3 because selecting cancel on the transcode give me an endlessly spinning beach ball.
I am running Encore 3 (latest updates installed) on an 8-core Mac Pro (Early 2008 model) with 12 GB of RAM and under Leopard 10.5.4 (latest version with all updates installed). I have successfully transcoded these timelines that seem to freeze Encore 3 using MPEG SlipStream so I know the files are OK.
Is anyone else having this problem? Is there any solution to the problem? Does output to Flash simply not work under Leopard?
I have written to Adobe Tech Support. I have received no response from Adobe. I feel that someone on this forum must be using Encore 3 (since it is one of the few ways of getting Blu-ray DVD authoring on the Mac) and has tried to output the DVD as Flash video from within Encore 3. I am simply trying to determine (1) if this is a known issue when running Encore 3 under Leopard; (2) if there is any fix to get Output to Flash working from within Encore 3.
Thank you in advance for responding.
    Tom

    David,
My hat is off to you for persevering with Encore 3 and getting it to output flash video. AFter reading that you had gotten it to work, I was inspired to try once again. This time I encoded my timeline to DVCPro HD by exporting the FCP project to Compressor. I then took this timeline (an 11 minute video) into Encore 3 and tried to build a flash DVD. I have a main menu and scene selection menu, and they both transcoded fine in about 20 minutes, but once again when Encore got to my timeline, the progress bar moved to about 1-2% and simply stayed there. After 7 hours I finally gave up and canceled the transcode which had never progressed any further and did a Force Quit on Encore.
I noticed in doing the above, that during the transcode of the menus Activity Monitor shows my cpu is reading 170-190 and varying as you would expect. Once Encore hits my timeline and begins the transcode of that, the cpu drops to 100 and remains there with no real sign of activity.
Can you tell me if your DVD that you successfully output to flash with Encore 3 had chapter marks in it? I am wondering if they could be the trouble. Some people have indicated that they solved the problem by going back to an earlier version of Quicktime. I am using version 7.5 of Quicktime, which is the latest version. Can you tell me what version of Quicktime you are using on the Mac that succeeded in outputting to Flash video using Encore 3?
    Thanks again for your help.

  • Convert DVD to Flash?

My client wants to put his completed DVD (with videos, motion menus, etc.) on the web. We don't have access to the editable production files, only the finished DVD. Is there anyway to easily convert this to Flash format (or anything else) so we can put it on the web with it's full functionality?

do you mean rip dvd to flash flv format, then put it to youtube, I know software can do this, eahoosoft dvd ripper, it can convert your dvd to flash with high quality.

  • Capture Settings Ideal for SD DVDs and flash, coming from HDV to save time?

Hello, I have 14 hours of HDV footage shot at 60i, using my Canon xha1. I need to create footage which will be put into a standard dvd and most importantly, be put online as relatively small files.
My questions is, what would be the best capture preset to minimize file size as well as maintain quality good enough for nice flash video?
I usually go with the HDV-Apple ProRes 422 and sequence preset Apple ProRes 1440x1080 60i.
Should I stick with this set up, and just deal with the huge rendering and export times? Or are there any settings ideal for my needs to make everything easier right from the beginning?
    Thanks,
    Erik

Don't reduce the quality of your footage before you have even started to work on it.
What you should do is edit in ProRes and complete your project in that format.
You would then export a master file of the finished piece and generate your deliverables from it.
A DVD uses MPEG 2 video and ac3 audio files. Those are made in Compressor and imported into a DVD authoring application such as DVD Studio Pro.

  • Burn dvd or Flash Player

I am using a program called Photoshow which came with my
Comcast service. It uses flash media player 7 to play the digital
slide shows with music. I was wondering if there is a way to burn a
dvd of a flash player file from my computer to a dvd. I have a
burner but need a program to convert the file.

Yes, these two files are there, but the AC3 file does not run, even there. Is as if caught. The video file plays normally.

  • Notebook NB200 cannot boot from USB CD/DVD drive / flashing cursor

I have a toshiba nb200-11L just under 2 years old (no warranty!). Recently it developed a problem which prevents it from booting up and all that happens is that I get a flashing cursor in the top left corner of a black screen. The only options availavle are F2 and F12 but these will not allow me to enter either safemode or to use the toshiba recovery option.
I have purchased the toshiba recovery disk on cd rom in order to complete a re-install but the bios only shows HDD and FDD as options, and there does not appear to be any way of adding further options.
I have checked the hard drive which appears to be ok. I am concerned that the problem may be the motherboard which I suspect will make any repair uneconomical.
Any suggestions will be much appreciated.
    Thanks. Keith

I do not know what BIOS version it is, but I have set the BIOS to default. I suspect that there may be a problem with the external dvd drive, as I have plugged it in to another laptop and it is not being recognised. I am going to try another one tomorrow - fingers crossed!

  • Convert VHS tape to DVD or flash drive

I would like to convert home movies that are on a VHS tape to DVD, and then to a flash drive or USB stick

convert a vhs tape to digital
I have done lots of that.
To get your VHS video into iMovie, use the Grassvalley ADVC300 (much better than the roxio easy vhs to dvd).  With the ADVC300 Audio and Video go in, FireWire comes out. It also comes with a nice Macintosh application that works flawlessly with iMovie 06 and iDVD 09/11 (I have used it a few times with iMovie 11).
The program that comes with the ADVC300 has some nice filters that can improve video and audio of the source material. The ADVC300 will take Audio and Video from any source (VCR, Tivo, Satellite Receiver) and convert it to FireWire (iMovie will treat it like a camera).
    http://www.grassvalley.com/products/advc300
I would use iMovie 06 with iDVD 09/11, why?
iMovie 09/11 uses 'single field processing' meaning every other horizontal line of the video is thrown out, which reduces the sharpness of the footage. iMovie 06 uses ALL of the image to form the video.
If your primary workflow is editing DV clips and making DVDs, iMovie '06 is better suited. Your movie will arrive at iDVD in DV format, which is an ideal match for making a DVD: same resolution, same pixels aspect ratio, and original quality.
If you share your movie from iMovie 09/11, it gets re-rendered at 640x480 or less, and then iDVD upscales it back to 720x480. The end result is obviously not as good.
iMovie 06 and iDVD 11 is a "lossless" combination.

  • NTSC & PAL Widescreen DVD from Flash Animation

Hey Everyone. I have a question regarding a project I am finishing up. I created an animation in flash that is being exported to both NTSC Widescreen DVD and PAL Widescreen DVD.
I started with 1024x576 in flash and created a sweet animation with audio. (Its a 1 min animation that will be looped for conventions etc)
    For NTSC
From Flash I exported a 853x480 animation and imported it into FCP to add some fades to the beginning and end and make a few tweaks. I exported out another 853x480 video and imported it into DVDSP set to NTSC Widescreen. I burned the disc and everything looks great on my screen (letterbox on my crappy home tv)
For my PAL version I followed a similar process.
From Flash I exported a 1024x576 animation and imported it into FCP to add some fades to the beginning and end and make a few tweaks. I exported out another 1024x576 video and imported it into DVDSP set to PAL Widescreen.
The thing I noticed is that the video in the viewer seems stretched where as the NTSC looked perfect.
Am I missing something here? Where did I go wrong. Should i have set the video size smaller in FCP and outputted the proper video size (NTSC 720 x 480 and PAL 720 x 576) to bring into DVDSP? I don't know why one would look ok and the other would look stretched.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
    Fish

    Fish:
    Try this in FCP:
    PAL VIDEO
    - Select Easy Setup DV PAL
    - Create a new sequence and open it
    - Go to menu Sequence > Settings...
    - Change Quicktime Video Settings Compressor from DV-PAL to uncompressed 8 bit
    - Check the anamorphic option
    - Import your movie and make it fit the canvas (check the Distort option in the Motion tab)
    - Do your edit
    - Export your timeline as Animation.
Same for the NTSC but using DV NTSC Easy Setup and so . . .
If I don't missed something your movies must be fine in DVDSP.
    Hope it helps!

  • Not booting from DVD drive | Flashing Question mark and face folder SOS!

Hey there! I am hoping one of you folks can help.
I noticed my iMac running really slow.
I could not find my OS disks, so I bought OS X Leopard
When I tried to boot from DVD it would flash the question/face folder for about 30 seconds then reboot normal. (I was able to install the OS. Just can't boot from the disk in order to run disk utility)
Time got away from me and now my system is REALLY slow...
I went and bought Disk Warrior
Same issue, only my drive spits out that disk. (I can run and burn other disks)
I won't discuss my failed attempts at getting help from the Apple store and by having the geniuses (not) call me. I would rather not pay an arm and a leg to have an approved repair center run the disk utility for me. I've already spent $169 on the OS and $100 on Disk Warrior... PLEASE HELP

I think you are going in a totally wrong direction. Your profile indicates you have Leopard (10.5.X) however I don't believe that what you recently purchased. I think you purchased Snow Leopard (10.6.X), these are two totally different OS's! Unless you got extremely lucky and found someone selling 10.5.x then naturally you would have the problem you did trying to boot from it. My advice is:
    1. Look to see what version of OS X you are running (click the Apple in the upper left of this screen and then choose About this Mac) then cross check what version of the OS you recently purchased.
    2. If you are running 10.5.x then you will need to call Apple and purchase replacement discs for a nominal charge. Once received you should be able to boot from that disc and run Disk Utility from it.
    3. If you are running 10.6.x then re post (with an updated profile) so we can determine what the next step is.
It seems like you don't know what you are doing and in an effort to save money you are probably going to spend more than taking your machine to an Apple Authorized Service Provider.

    Roger

    Hey,
No, I'm not running Snow Leopard. Running Leopard. 10.5.8
I'm guessing the problem is either with my computer itself, or perhaps the DVD drive. Hard to tell. Maybe even something corrupt in my software?
    My problem is:
I desperately need to run a disk utility of some sort, however am not able to make my computer use my OS disk or Disk warrior as a startup disk (either by holding down C, or by assigning it in System Utilities.)
I was hoping someone might have a tip, or trick to get my machine to use one of these disks as the startup disk.
    Thanks!
