what free software can i use on my mac to rip dvds to an ipod format and then how do i get them onto my ipod. Anyone have links to such software. Also how can i place movies that i have edited in FCP onto my ipod. Thanks

Self-contained or reference files created by iMovie, FCE, or FCP can be indirectly converted to iPod compatible applications by QT Pro, iTunes, MPEG Streamclip, iSquint, etc.

However there is a manual method of accessing the iPod's hard drive and copying songs back to iTunes on Windows. I've forgot my passcode on my Ipod and it says Ipod is disabled connect to itunes, but when i connect it to itunes it doesn't even come up at the side, i don't mind if i lose everything just what do i do?

this is the second time i have forgotten my passcode to my ipod touch, the first time i had no problem with resetting everything, it worked fine, this time it says ipod is disabled connect to itunes, so i plug it into my laptop and i sit there staring at the side bar on itunes till it comes up with my ipod, but it doesn't, when i do this on another computer it lets me restore it, but then it stops halfway and said cannot do this since ipod is locked with a passcode, please enter the passcode and try again, but if i cant get into it how can i put in my passcode? is there any way that i can find out my passcode, or any other way i can reset my ipod

Options for when an iOS device gets locked because of forgotten passcode:

hi, i hv not owned any ipod yet but plan to get myself a 60GB ipod. i just curious is there any difference between ipod sold in US and ipod sold in Asia? i m asking this as i will be relocated in US for a while and plan to get one there, just curious my file info like ID3 tag is store in simplified chinese and also japanese can b displayed properly in ipod.

I think the ID3 tags may need to be converted to Unicode. There is a program called ConvertZ which some people use to do this for Chinese.

You'll need to connect it to the iTunes library you normally sync it with and restore it. If iTunes asks you for this passcode before it will let you proceed, connect the iPod to iTunes in recovery mode instead using the instructions in this Apple support document.

80GB older IPOD and new 160GB IPOD multiple iTunes - how to consolidate

I purchased an 80GB a year ago and created playlists etc. Now I purchased a new 160GB and created a new iTunes file but I would like to consolidate the music files into one location. Maybe syncing two different IPOD's from the same iTunes. If I sync the old IPOD, to the new file, it will erase all existing files and playlists. I would also like to save on the disk space. How can I accomplish this without spending all day?

Never giving up and never letting the lack of a manual defeat me.... with a little luck and persistent trial and error I finally figured it out. And no, it wasn't memory, because honestly I can't recall from years ago how I had put that transmitter in pairing mode.
And for those of you who cherish outdated technology or may come across one.... The blue LED window on the side of the transmitter is also a pushbutton. With the iPod paused, press and hold the LED button immediately after power up, and the transmitter goes into pairing mode.
Now time to go enjoy my music with my new bluetooth headset

If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode.

There is little chance of recovering your iPod. The police will do little. It it is turned then they can contact you.

When I try to sync music from iTunes playlist to my Ipod shuffle it says the iPod is synced to a different liabrary. It asks if I want to delete the music already on the Ipod and sync it to "this" library. I don't want to lose the music already on Ipod.

Please help. I have no idea why this is happening and I'm kinda new to using iTunes. I'm trying to sync music from a playlist on my iTunes account onto my iPod Shuffle (older Shuffle). I use Windows XP on my laptop. When I try moving the songs to the iPod it says the iPod is synced to another library. I'm new to this forum. My Ipod nano is almost full, so I wish to delete the playlists/ songs on it and give it to another family member, but without deleting anything in iTunes. Them I want to transfer everything in my existing iTunes onto a new, bigger ipod. What's the workflow for doing that safely?
