currently, Handbrake is only available for a Mac computer. I am not aware of free software that always converts a DVD well on a Windows machine. You'll probably have to purchase cucusoft or another software.

Nope. All that a person with that problem should have to do is just update their iPod firmware to 1.1.1 with the newest updater, as that issue has been resolved in the latest firmware.

Help... Why did the dvd to ipod converter split one movie into 2 files?

I have a 80GB Video Ipod and I'm confused on why when I ripped a dvd using the dvd to ipod converter for mac program it split the dvd into 2 files.. Is there a way I can merge the files together so it is 1 file?.. I would apprciate any help or suggestions...

Best DVD to iPod Converter

I just got a New iPod video and I was looking for some advice for the best DVD to iPod Converter. The two programs that I have been looking at are
1.) Super DVD to iPod Converter and
2.) PQ DVD to iPod Video Converter
Both of them run around $30 and boast that they are the fastest. Anyone have any input?

Well, I'll disagree. I've used quite a few and to me, PQ DVD is by far the best. It records all DVD's, not just ones that aren't encrypted. All of them are slow, pretty much 1:1 when doing a movie. Meaning, if your video is a hour long, it's going to take an hour to do it. I just start it before I go to bed. I don't really know why support is needed- it is an extremely simple program to use. Personally, the how long have they been around thing doesn't mean a hill of beans to me. It works, it's simple, and affordable.

Video is fine but the audion is cut and out of sync with the video, any suggestions would be appreciated

I haven't had the sync problem. Do you need to decrypt a DVD before sending it to Super DVD to iPod Converter? Also, how do you keep the same aspect ratio?

Super DVD to iPod converter problems

I have encountered a problem with Super DVD to iPod converter, which might have been stressed yet. Please let me know if so...
Problem: when i've ripped a dvd with DVD Decrypter and convert it with Super DVD to iPod converter, it doesn't play audio in Quicktime and it doesn't play at all on my iPod (black screen, no audio).
However, the Decrypted file does play in programs with sound and screen.
Something else, which scared me: when i played the DVD on my iPod it continued loading (the iPod was shaking) and the battery ran down in seconds. Scary or no prob at all???

I bougt the Super DVD to iPod converter program and I'm having multiple problems.
First I couldn't figure out the registration code that I needed to enter from keeping lenogo charging me extra.
Then I think I finally figured it out because I was able to start the program but then after I pressed convert a large window popped up saying that all the conversion processes of the DVD failed. Every time.
And there is no phone number available to contact Lenogo support with, and the ticket I submitted, which I assume is a support email type thing, is not being replied to, and all the emails I send to their support email address, now totallying 5, maybe 6, has still yet to be replied to. I am very frustrated.
Does anyone have any advice or suggestions? If I can't get in touch I'm calling my credit card company, which I guess is the last resort. Ok, thanks

To Cucusoft users: What have you found to be the ideal settings for converting DVD movies/tv shows to play in full-screen mode on the 5G iPod?
I have decoded a movie and a TV Show from DVD, and I've found that the resultant images look "squished". The image quality of my decoded episode of "Lost" don't look as good as the versions that I downloaded from iTunes.
I didn't have this problem using Videora. But the one-step nature of Cucusoft is so much more convenient, if I can optimize the settings.

i have cucosoft,i have downloaded a few dvds with different results on each video.some have thicker black lines top and bottom some have none !!!!this i havnt worked out yet.but at least its easy to convert.

Best FREE DVD to iPod Converter

Okay so I have the Cucusoft free version which is nice but I don't wanna pay $30 for it and I also have the IMtOO Converter but it only converts 5min of a DVD cause its the trial version...So is there anything that is easy too use and works just fine thats FREE? Super DVD to Ipod Converter doesnt work please help!

So im trying to convert a family guy dvd (from one of the season box sets) and it wont convert. I have no idea whats wrong i went through the whole tutorial from their website. Do i need to pay the 30 dollars to get it to convert. Because when i try to at the top it says loading internal encoder but then it shows up a little pop up and it says Mpeg2Decoder: Error during decoder initialization and then it says underneath that it says that its unable to read from the dvd drive. and yah it wont work any suggestions?

I have a course on "....." there are in DVD Zone 1, I can cppy them, so they are not protected. I pay for them. Will like to bring them into the ipod and watch them any place I would like.
