Dvd to website

hello everybody
i have made a project in encore with 9 movies, motion menu, chapters etc .
i would like to put it in my website as is.
is it posible?
i exported it to flash and got a file with 4 files on it
1. sources
2. flash dvd .swf
3.authoredcontent.xml
4. index.html
is it posible that it will appear in my website exactly like in the dvd?
if yes how do i go on from here?

I posted the following on a thread Leonardo started in the Flash forum.
http://forums.adobe.com/thread/921658
I was unable to access the site he sent to me, and then I was able to this evening:
"The f4v file is correctly set up in the .xml file, but is not found when I try to play it directly (404 Error).
(I am able to play a file from a test Encore to Flash page I have up.)
http://www. ... [directory with the Encore generated index.html file]/Sources/_PGC_Bpgc_2.f4v
The basic files are there, and you can see the menu highlights, and you can execute a button to play a movie. The flash player controls appear, but no movie.
I suspect a problem with the f4v files being uploaded correctly, but there are many, and many are short - so should not be an issue with upload size."

  • Make a photo DVD

I have over 1.6GB of photos that I want to write to a DVD so that I can play them through my DVD player on the TV.
What piece of Linux software would be best for this?

Haven't tried it, but DVD-Slideshow looks fairly advanced. There are also links to related GUI projects like slcreator on DVD-Slideshows website.

  • Best way to save iMovie Projects

I am using iMovieHD and have about 50 hours of video to import and then to save. I recently bought a LaCie 250G hard drive. I do not know the best way to save these movies which I have imported and edited but since they are in effect out family treasury I would like a good quality. I can al;ways make new iDVDs from the edited iMovie so assume I will not need to save the iDVD projects. Any recommendations?

I think Apple should post some BIG ads to make some things clear
    Hi Hunting,
"Quciktime" is not a format nor a compression method; QT is "just" a socalled container or warpper, containing many media formats (the .mov suffix is irritating people...), have a look here for an overview how many formats 6 codecs are a "Quicktime" file...
... mpeg4 is just one of them...
    to answer your question:
that depends MUCH on, what you want to do later with your stored movies:
    * dv is highest possible quality with iM files - but: 1h = ~12Gb !!
    * mpeg4 my personal favorite, good pic quality, small file size BUT! as any mpeg-"flavor", it is a lossy compression codec...- in case, you plan to make in two years a nice dvd, that lossy mpeg4 has to be converted into mpeg2 (another lossys format) ...
there are some dvd-standalone player on the market, able to playback ISO-conform mpeg4 files (not in a .mov container, but as .mp4....)
    * in case, you want re-edit, you need to store the iM-projects...
    * the new h.264 is a fanstatstic codec, but too new, as: you need fast Macs for playback and warp-fast Mac for encoding...
    summary/recommendation:
hd drives prices drop; I would store in .dv, three times bigger as a dvd (tento 20 times bigger then a mpeg4...) but best format for "post processing" (edits, dvd burns, website compression, switching to mpeg4, h.264....)
to add some silly ToolTime idea (call me Tim, I'm using it, short in money):
just for storage, you can buy 3,4,5 drives plus ONE empty fw-case; it is very easy to build a drive inside such case (two multi-pin cables); transfer files; build second hd into case... you just store the hds... looks silly, but works important: write onto some paper, what's on that drives...

  • Purchased serial number for iWork 08

I just bought a new MacBook Pro with Leopard. I tried to start Pages '08 but it is asking for a purchased serial number. Where do I look for this number among all the disks and manuals that came with the computer?
    Thanks,
    Dave

iWork comes as a demo version with your computer. Once the demo expires you have to purchase it to keep it working.
This is what came on your MacBook Pro. This is from the sale page.

It comes with such a tool named TextEdit which is a perfect gift as it is missing in the list of bundled applications.

  • Best Way to Record Narration for Slides

    I'm new to Keynote.
    1. I have created a 20 slide presentation.
    2. I have recorded a 5-minute narration for the presentation in Garage Band.
What is my best option to put the two elements (slide show and audio) together so they sync perfectly? I'd like the end result to be a flash file that I can upload to YouTube and embed on my website.
Here are a couple possible work flows I thought may work. Am I on the right path? What would you suggest?
    A. Cut my audio into 20 files and add those files to the individual Keynote pages. Then somehow turn the Keynote with the 20 audio files into a flash file.
    B. Wait until Camtasia for Mac comes out next week. Then, add my audio track, import the Keynote slides (if possible), and tweak the timing in Camtasia so that the slide show and narration match up.
What do you think? Would either of these work? Am I forgetting some other obvious solution that would be easier? Thanks.

I have no experience with Flash or Camtasia, but I have used iMovie to create QuickTime slideshows that are suitable for most websites. This may be another option for you.
It's easy in iMovie to match up narration or music, or both, with individual slides, apply various effects and transitions, and export the results in formats for DVDs or websites. I have not tried importing an entire Keynote presentation into iMovie and do not know if that's possible. Keynote offers title and transition features that iMovie lacks; so the choices you make really depend on your end goals, which will determine which tools are best to get there.

  • Worth the price?

I'm looking for a new laptop, and really like apple computers, but can't ignore the fact that the apple macbook pros cost basically double that of laptops by other companies of equivalent specs. Is it really worth it? I can buy 2 HP/Toshiba/Gateway/Compaq/Dell laptops for the price of one apple, and I'm not sure I can justify the price difference. Can anyone make a convincing argument?

  • How do I upload UDF files using OS X upload window?

I'm trying to upload a UDF file (a type of disc image) to a DVD-printing website. The problem is, every time I select it in the OS X upload window and click "Open," it just opens it in the window like a folder and presents me with the first level of its contents.
I don't want to navigate into the file, I want to upload it as a whole. I can't ZIP it or anything, as the website will take the file it receives and burn it onto the DVD as-is, so a ZIP file will result in a DVD containing a ZIP file, and thus be non-playable
I know the website can receive UDF files, as it specifically lists them as one of the possible filetypes you can upload. I think the OS X upload window itself just doesn't expect it to be possible...
Is there a way to "force select" that file and upload it, or to somehow tell the computer that I want to UPLOAD the file, not OPEN it?

UDF is a disc format, not a type of file. It sounds like you have a folder with the contents of a UDF disc. You'll have to clarify with the site operator what kind of file he expects and how to create it.

  • Windows 10 upgrade key fails repeatedly

Why am I continuing to have Win7 Serial Number Key problems upgrading to Windows 10 64-bit, despite my install attempts using USB, DVD, and website software downloaded from Microsoft?  I have repeatedly attempted to upgrade our HP DV6  (2 years old) to the Windows 10 Upgrade with no success and a lot of frustration...  The problem seems to be the HP Win7 install key placed on our laptop by HP is not recognized by either the Win10 upgrade DVD, the Win10 upgrade USB Memory Stick or the Microsoft Win10 install website.  The DVD and USB install attempts say the HP serial number originally installed on our laptop by HP is not recognized and prevents the upgrade from continuing.  The Win10 website upgrade application starts, tries to load temporary files, and then abruptly terminates during the install attempt with no diagnostic or error message. Microsoft Tech Support (Level 3) verified about 1 week ago the DV6 laptop is fully up-to-date on all drivers,  Windows 7 software, and fully ready for the Win10 upgrade.  The laptop currently has a fully working wireless connection to the Internet.  All Anti-Virus and Anti-Malware software has been fully disabled to allow the upgrade attempts. The HP Software Advisor website says all HP software and drivers are up-to-date.  All TMP files etc. have been cleaned out with CCleaner.  The primary HD has been fully defragmented.  The laptop has 6MB of memory, 500+ GB available disk space on the primary partition, and 150MB available on the System partition.  The laptop has recently been been upgraded to use Internet Explorer 11 which is working correctly. Question 1: Why are we continuing to have problems with the HP Win7 Install Key# not being recognized for the Win10 upgrade? Question 2:  is HP trying to regulate when HP owners upgrade their computers to Win10 by controlling when HP Win7 install keys are recognized for Win10 upgrades?  If so, they should inform HP Owners in advance and not through frustrating Owners by trial-and-error.

I finally got the Win10 upgrade to start after a call to Microsoft Tech Support and here's why upgrade problems occurred and how to address them... The problems I experienced are caused by Microsoft and HP who have not made clear when HP laptops that are out of warranty will be allowed to complete the Win10 upgrade o0n the Internet nor how a local Win10 upgrade should be completed.. 1.) I called HP Tech Support about Win10 upgrade problems with abrupt disconnects & they refused to even discuss my concerns unless I bought an *expensive subscription package*. They said my laptop is just out of warranty and the 3rd party contractor company wanted $150 for a 6 month tech support subscription before they would answer any of my basic questions. 2.) Creating a DVD or USB as the startup drive from the Win10 Upgrade ISO downloaded from Microsoft DOES NOT WORK because this causes the bootable software to think it is a new install and not an upgrade. I also could not get the bootable USB stick with the Win10 Upgrade to read correctly and the Setup app crashed with no error message. 3.) Apparently the Microsoft Win10 website is delaying OEM "out of warranty" Win10 upgrades to enable Retail Version Customers, Businesses, and OEM "In Warranty" computers to have the first chance to upgrade. Here's how I solved the Win10 Upgrade problem... In summary, I a.) used MSCONFIG.EXE to disable ALL non-Microsoft Apps (except HP) from loading at startup NOTE: I tried to let all HP hardware & software load, but disabled McAfee Anti-Virus, Spybot S&D, etc. b.) created a permanent virtual drive for only the Win10 Upgrade ISO (I used the *64-bit version* of MagicDisc freeware downloaded from the Internet) c.) booted from the Win7 C: drive, opened the ISO virtual drive, and ran the ISO Setup.exe. d.) the Win10 upgrade Setup.exe ran with no problems, checked for the Internet for updates, and prepared the laptop for the Upgrade. I was then prompted to close the Finished Window, I manually restarted the laptop from the Start Menu and after the POST, the actual Win10 Upgrade started without my having to do anything. e.) As the Win10 Upgrade moved forward, a small message appeared that said my computer may have to be rebooted several times during the upgrade to assure that the correct sets of drivers were detected, loaded, and upgraded. After the Upgrade completes, I will have to re-activate and test the 3rd party Software apps disabled by MSCONFIG individually so I can be sure the drivers and software work correctly. Apps should be reactivated one-at a-time to discover which apps are not compatible with Win10 and/or may require an OEM upgrade. This may require rebooting and testing the 3rd party app one at a time to determine compatibility issues... Please note: Microsoft now tracks everywhere you go on the Internet with Win10 and disabled privacy settings during the upgrade. .

I am going to place a 30 minutes dvd film on a website for one of my clients. The film was shot 15 years ago and is in vhs-format. Before I will have the film converted into a dvd-format I want to know what format will suit my needs best. HTTP, Flash, Quicktime or something else? I will make it easy for myself placering the dvd film on the site and for the vistors who wish to look att the film.

The DVD format (MPEG-2) isn't appropriate for Web use.
Use QuickTime and H.264 video codec with AAC audio. Size the file at 320X240 (best fit for your old file).

No sound in firefox since upgrade to 4.0. Sound is ON, Volume is UP, mUte is NOT ON. Sound plays in games, CDs, DVDs, but not ANY website. Need to get sound on in web or go back to earlier version of Firefox

Thank you for posting your list of installed Extensions. One of them might be intercepting the menu command. Since you have the Add-on Compatibility Reporter, it's possible that an older add-on that doesn't actually work well with Firefox 5 could be to blame. Could you try disabling the "HP Smart Web Printing" extension and see whether that makes any difference?
Also, you can simulate a print button on a web site by pasting this to the location bar and pressing Enter. You also can save it as a bookmark for easier access (when scripts are saved as bookmarks, we call them bookmarklets). Hopefully you won't need it for long.
