DVD/TV combo locked 19LV61OU

We have a TV/DVD combo model # 19LV610U.
The dvd is locked when pressing eject.  We have tried, using the remote, Setup, Subtitle, 3, audioselect, 0. No joy.
What step am I missing?
thanks,
Karen

Did you lock it using parental control? Anyway refer tp pages 70-72 in your manual. http://cdgenp01.csd.toshiba.com/content/support/manuals/userguides/su2796946/19_22_26LV610U-T_22LV61...

  • MacBook to DVD/VCR Combo to TV

    Hey All,
I have the white MacBook 13" purchased in Oct 08. I have a newer DVD/VCR Combo unit that is hooked into my HDTV via HDMI to, I think, DVI. (I'm at work right now). Anyway, my question is, can I run the mini-DVI to the DVD/VCR Combo into the TV with the mini-DVI to HDMI cable? Or will I lose valuable signal and video? Should I connect directly to the TV?
The TV is a Mitsubishi HDTV ready 1080i widescreen 55 in, projection. I think it is from the 2004 era. I bought it used and it didn't have a manual.
    Thanks for any help!

There should be no signal lost from the VCR to the TV. That will just be a digital pass-through.

  • Vcr/dvd player combo and compatibility with TV

I received a VCR/DVD player combo (does not have a digital tuner)  for Christmas.  I have basic cable hookup without a cable box and my tv  does not have a digital tuner.  My dilema is that both sides play just fine but I cannot record from the tv.  I would like to know what I can do to remedy this problem.  If anyone has any suggestions, they would be greatly appreciated!!

Since you do not have a tuner on the dvd/vcr combo, the only way you can record tv shows on this unit is if your tv has a video output on the back of the tv. Few newer tv's have this feature anymore.
See this picture. There is a pair of audio outs on the right, and the bottm right is a yellow output for video. These are the composite outs to go to a unit like yours.
If the unit came from Best Buy, you can see about exchanging it for a Panasonic DMR-EZ48VK or LG  RC897T units. They are stocked in store and have a HD tuner in them.

  • DVD/Video combo for work on FCE

    Hi All,
Whilst not a strictly FCE prob, your advice would be most welcome. I need to put some old video onto FCE. Should I look at a DVD/VIDEO combo that can output to DV tape or seek a video 'grabber' (is that the right term?) that connects to what looks like a USB memory stick and then import from that to FCE. Which would replicate the better quality? I guess, finally, can anyone recommend a good dvd/vid combo anyway as the market out there is swamped? I am UK based.
Thanks all. I see great advice for cameras and other bits on this forum, hence my enquiry. I just want to crack on with putting all my parents old video onto FCE, edit and then to disk, ultimately to make them an anniversary gift.
    Best wishes.

    Jakroberts,
My apologies - I think you may find the ADVC100 is discontinued and the newer model is the ADVC110. Would pay to check on the Canopus site to see if meets your requirements before buying.
Also, if buying on eBay, remember that the input voltages in the US are different to the rest of the world. If you're using a Firewire cable then this won't apply (see: (http://www.canopus.com/products/ADVC110/index.php) Many mains adapters now are multi voltage units and will work from 100-250v AC, but make sure before buying. Could be a simple case of a quick mains plug change once you get the unit . . . but ask the question before buying!
Take a look for the ADVC110 on ebay here: http://search.ebay.com/Canopus_W0QQmfeZsearch
    Good luck!

  • Duplicating DVDs from Sony DVD/VCR combo

Please forgive a question that actually has nothing to do with DVD Studio Pro. (I DO own it, though!) I just figured you guys would know a lot.
I have a Sony DVD/VCR combo unit. I've created a DVD on the unit with footage from my MiniDV camcorder. The disc burned just fine and plays on my Mac. But I can't use Disc Utility to duplicate the DVD as I am used to doing. I get an "input/output error" message when I try to create a New Image from the disc. I don't see how copy protection could factor in; I made the disc myself, and it's all my own footage shot on MiniDV.
Any thoughts? Or workarounds? I'd like to avoid recreating the entire 2-hour DVD by digitizing straight to my Mac if at all possible.

Toast will do it very easily, but you might want to try this one. I haven't used it, but it looks promising.

  • Hpe-380t and dvd/vcr combo

has anyone connected a vcr, dvd, or dvd/vcr combo to their HPE-380T thru the varios i/o ports on the front of their machine?  i have a dvd/vcr combo connected but not sure how the video displayed on the monitor or audio is heard via my speakers.

Hi, What video capture application program are you using since the front ports for input? ROXIO sells a lot of video capture software and h/w dongles.

  • Re: DVD/VCR Combo

I ALSO HAVE A DVD/VCR COMBO, THE PICTURE HAS NEVER COME IN ON THE VCR, SO WE TRIED BUYING A NEW TV THINKING THAT THE OLDER TV WAS THE PROBLEM. STILL NO PICTURE ON VCR. PICTURE FINE ON DVD

    Just to verify the steps:
    1) Insert a VHS tape that already has something recorded on it. Be sure it's not just blank tape.
    2) Press the VCR button on the remote. This is the one with the yellow boundary around it, near the bottom of the remote.
You should see 0:00:00 display on the front of the unit.
    3) Press PLAY on the remote.
You should see the counter start incrementing as the tape starts playing. (00:00:01, 00:00:02, etc.)
Then see what is on the TV. Are you seeing anything from the VCR, or is it just a blue screen? Press FWD on the remote to see if anything appears on the TV. If you see nothing, and you know it's not blank tape, and you do see a picture when you switch to DVD and play a DVD, I'd say the unit is flawed. I've not experienced this myself.
How are you connected from the Toshiba to the TV? HDMI, RCA cables, or S-Video?
As a side note, when you make posts, please use mixed case. All caps appears to the reader as "shouting" (although perhaps you're thinking you need to shout about this issue). This is known as "proper netiquette". See  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/All_caps#Computing

  • When I put in a DVD, the mac locks up, an image from the DVD stays on the screen even when the dvd is removed.  The only way to remove the image if to do a hard shutdown.

When I put in a DVD, the mac locks up, an image from the DVD stays on the screen even when the dvd is removed.  The only way to remove the image if to do a hard shutdown.
    Is the hardware corrupt?

Could you be a little more descriptive, does this happen with all DVDs? Please describe the type of DVDs you are attempting to use, commercial movies, blank DVDs, etc...

  • Manually Removing a DVD from a DVD/TV Combo unit

Have a DVD/TV combo unit that has a DVD stuck (won't eject).  How do I get the DVD out without taking a hammer to it?

Just inserted a new DVD correctly into the slot on my model 37LX96 Regza DVD/TV combo and the screen went black.  Nothing works and cannot remove the DVD.  No manual release pinhole in this model and Toshiba offered no help without a $25 service charge.  Called the local service number they gave me and it was disconnected.  Great "customer-no-service" - I will junk this unit and never purchase anything from Toshiba again.  Toshiba had no record of the serial number on my unit after I properly filled out the registration when I purchased it.  Have no choice but to disassemble the whole thing to remove the DVD so I can return it to Redbox.

  • DVR620 DVD/VHS Combo Compatible Discs??

I am using Sony DVD+R 120 min. discs for dubbing VHS to DVD, and they work beautifully.  Has anyone used any of the 240 min. discs listed on Page 10 of the Manual?  They suggest Verbatim DVD+R 8x as one option that is compatible with this unit.  When I load that one I get Error Message as found in the Manual on Page 106 stating "Please eject the disc: Playblack feature may not be available on this disc" and they state the cause that the disc is not playable and refer to Page 10 for a list of standardized disc. I wanted to dub a 4 hr. VHS tape to a DVD that was 240 mins. (4 hrs.)  I originally had tried the Memorex DVD +R 240 min. and got the red barred circle icon, but noticed it wasn't listed in the Manual as one they suggest so I purchased the Verbatim brand.  I don't want to keep buying different disc to find that they are not compatible with this machine.  Disc's aren't cheap!  To get around the problem I used the Sony 120 min disc and set the recording mode to LP to give me the 4 hours I needed.  Anyone out there ever used any 240 min. discs successfully on the DVR620 DVD/VHS Combo???

I believe that when you say "240 minute disc" that you are referring to a DVD-R/DL (dual layer) disc. You can't use these in the Toshiba model DVD recorders. I don't think I've yet found a consumer model set-top DVD recorder (regardless of brand) that will accept them.
If you want to record a 4-hour event on a single DVD using the Toshiba, you'll have to record it in LP as you've already tried.
Or, break it up into 2 2-hour events on 2 DVDs recorded at SP mode.

  • T23 with CD-RW/DVD-ROM Combo drive problem

I have had my T23 for several years. It came with a DVD/ROM and floppy drive when I purchased it from IBM (not Lenovo). It has served me well but I needed a RW drive, so over Christmas I purchased a new ultrabay 2000 CD-RW/DVD Combo (p/n 22P6991) in the States. The drive can be seen from My Computer, Windows Explorer and Device Manager.
I copied one image (23kb jpeg) from my PC to the drive using Windows Recording Software and it worked. I then tried to move a folder with about 10 jpeg images to the same CD-RW. The images disappeared from the C:/ drive and sit in a virtual storage area (I assume) waiting to be transferred. The CD-RW with one jpeg on it is in the drive and I get a message from the windows writing wizard informing me that there is no disc in the drive. The disc is no longer recognized.
I browsed the forum and found a reference to DLA. I do not have any Sonic DLA software installed. In searching Support and Downloads on the Lenovo Site I see an upgrade to dla521 build 01c (dla521b01u.exe)  for 22P6991. As I do not have the base software to upgrade, how do I get the base software?  Apparently it is shipped in IBMTools/apps if the device came with the PC.
I may even be chasing the wrong solution here. Can anyone point me in the right direction?  Sure would appreciate it.

Thank you for your response, I very much appreciate it.  I have DeepBurner installed. I assume it to be much the same as Easy CD Creator and Nero... though Nero is huge!  I did select multisession on before I did the first copy.
As an aside, I have noticed that there is no format command for the CD (I am using brand new CD-RW discs). Using the CDs right out of the box rendered the file system as CDFS after I wrote the first file to the disc using Windows CD Record. The disc is now unusable.
For DLA ... I did some web searching and found that the CD-RW/DVD combo comes with  file   q1dla1us13.exe . It is not on the Lenovo download site. I did not get a CD installation disc with my purchase. Lenovo phone support tells me to buy DLA.
Update:   I have given up on DLA. I downloaded CDBurnerXP and used it.  It was simple to use and it did the job. My concern about not being able to format the drive prior to using it was not an issue afterall.
Thank you for taking the time to help me.

  • DVD+RW is "locked"?

I want to burn files to a DVD+RW on which I have previously recorded films/TV progs etc. I have formatted the DVD in my ordinary DVD recorder. I've put the DVD+RW in my Superdrive but when I try to copy files from my desktop to the DVD+RW I am told that that's not possible as the DVD is locked. When I "Get Info" from the Finder window, under "Sharing and Permissions" I am told "You can only read".
Any ideas how I can write to the DVD+RW in my Superdrive?
    Thanks!

You'll have to erase the DVD to be able to use it again. You can erase the disk with Disk Utility.

  • DVD/VCR combo connection

Hello,  I have recently purchased a Toshiba 29L1350U 29” TV, which works fine.  All connections are working properly, except for my DVD/VCR (SONY SLV-D380P)  Enclosed is a picture of the connections panel behind the Combo player. What should I connect to what?

Hi everyone my VCR is now working but I would be curious if anyone knows how to record the old fashioned way. I know it sounds crazy but I can't save everything in my DVR forever.
