This is not an area I have much experience in......I rarely insert DVDs and I have never had a similar problem.
When the DVD is in the drive (and DVD players is open) click on File>get disk info.

     I did try everything on the FAQ page (all steps) I also did them a few more times with "Adobe help" walking me through 2 more times. I just don't get it, I have been on with Adobe on some days up to 5 hours at a time for over a month now. I think it must be something with the installation disc but they say no, no, switchboard is just not working on my OS X 10.9.4. I even took the computer into the apple store here and had them look it over, reinstall everything and they say it's the Adobe software.
     Thank you very much for your help, it's nice to know someone is reading this :-) I do work around this by saving the files and reopening them in the next program I need but everyone in class is always waiting on me, (it sucks) and I just think it should work. Hope you have a good day and I will put an update on here if this is ever figured out.

I could not find a MF-4430 at the Canon site. Are you sure the model is correct? They have a MF4450. The Mac drivers are here:

If you are sure you have a MF4430, look around the canon site for the drivers.

How to move music from pc to mac book pro

I just bought a macbook pro for school. I have a large number of music files on my pc. I copied all the file to my mac book and then fired up itunes and scanned for media. It seems that itunes is making a second copy and putting them somewhere and my hard drive runs out of space. I guess I don't know how to work the macbook yet. Can someone giveme advise to get my macbook itunes to just recognize themusic files and import them to itunes?

There is a iTunes Library in your Music folder and yes iTunes is organizing them utilizing copies of your originals.
Since things are messed up and your just starting out, you can go ahead and click and drag the iTunes Library to the Trash can and from the Finder menu > Empty Trash.
Now place your PC music files on a external drive where there is enough room, (perhaps a copy is already there?)
Delete the copy of files from the PC drive if they are on your Mac's drive, this way you have enough room.
Your basically starting over again with one copy of the files on the external drive.
Now restart iTunes and it will create another iTunes Library blank as before, now head to the iTunes menu or import the music from the external drive.
Now it will copy them and organize them into folders according to artist/album get artwork, etc., with tags etc. provided your logged into iTunes and online into the iTunes Library.
Remmember with Mac's, just like Windows, you need ot unmount the drive first before physically disconnecting, with OS X you simply drag the external drive icon to the Trash can, which turns into a Eject button.
Or you can select the drive and press the eject key, or the eject arrow in the Finder window on the left side.

External sound doesn't play when connected to Mac Book Pro:

I plugged an external mp3 player into the audio input on my MB Pro, and in the sound system preferences it shows the input signal level responding but there is no sound coming out of the built in speakers on the Mac. Nothing is muted and the volumes are all up. I tried this on two different MB Pro's and the result is the same. The audio is coming in, but no sound is heard. Does anyone know how to get the sound to work? Thanks,

Hi, the last install dvd that came out for mac's was Snow Leopard,10.6.3. Lion is a download from apple. You cannot just install it over Yosemite. You would have to backup your drive to save files you want and do a clean install. You might want to look into getting more memory. If Windows doesn’t install properly
Verify that you’re using an original, full version of the 64-bit version of Windows 7 Home Premium, Windows 7 Professional, Windows 7 Ultimate, Windows 8, or Windows 8 Pro.
Restart your Mac and hold down the Option key until one or more disk icons appear on your screen. Insert the Windows installation disc into the optical drive or insert the USB flash drive with Windows into a USB port on your Mac. Select the Windows installation disk icon, then click the arrow beneath it. Quickly press any key on your keyboard to start the installer. Follow the onscreen instructions to repair or reinstall Windows.

The tech tool diagnostic software (as part of apple care protection plan) stops in the middle of scanning.

First, know that if you have any old PPC-only applications they will no longer work. You should uninstall them completely. Secondly, applications that don't work may require upgrades for compatibility with Mountain Lion. Thirdly, you may have a dysfunctional upgrade for which you should try this:
Reinstalling Lion/Mountain Lion Without Erasing the Drive
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.
