DVDSP 2 not accepting elementary stream files

Greetings and apologies up front for being a newby AND using old software!
I've had this software forever and just never needed it, but now it seems I do, and I'm having a problem, no doubt very basic:
1. I've got an elementary stream with 2 files, an m2v and an ac3.
2. DVDSP (2.0.5; highest version?) tells me "wrong TV system" when I drag the imported video asset containing these files onto the menu.
"One or more files failed to import. Common reasons for this are that they do not match the current project's video standard or their file format is not supported."
From everything I can find online, these are the right file types for DVDSP; but I guess I'm wrong. What should I convert these files to?
Many thanks!
dc

you are correct that m2v adn ac3 are accepted dvdsp file formats. did you check your ntsc/pal and other settings in the preference tab?

  • Lightroom 4--4.1---4.2 will not accept .mpg video files

Lightroom 4, 4.1 and 4.2 will not accept .mpg video files.  I have to Convert these files from .mpg to mp4 in order for any of the lightrooms 4--4.2 to accept the videos. Yet in the http://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom/kb/video-support-lightroom-4-3.html it states : Extensions supported---MPG, so why do I have to convert all my video files to mp4??????

A particular file extension doesn’t dictate the actual video and audio codecs in a particular video file.   I expect what is happening is that LR doesn’t understand one or both of the codecs and it needs the file converted one a set it does understand.
Did the videos work in LR3 but not LR4?
Can you play the original MPGs in QuickTime?

  • DVDSP will not import my m2v files.

I am creating an SD DVD from HD footage. I exported the files using compressor Best Quality DVD 90 minutes, but the quality of the final DVD is too low. I am trying different compressor settings like Mpeg 2 Elementary Stream and a variety of other mpeg2 settings, but none will import into DVDSP. I thought all mv2 files could be imported as an asset in to DVD Studio Pro (I am working from FCP Studio 2 on a Mac Pro).
My questions is: What is the setting to use in Compressor that will yield the highest res images - that will import into DVDSP - that will make a functioning SD DVD?

I am making a 6 track DVD. Camera: HPX-500 at 720pn. Each clip is about 3 minutes long. Original .mov brought into FCP from P2card is about 1.2GB. Exporting each clip individually. audio was brought in with original .mov file from p2card. Audio when imported into DVDSP using "Best Quality 90 minutes" is .ac3. Does this information help?

  • Address Book NOT accepting csv.txt file as import from EARTHLINK web mail

Greetings. Unsuccessful thus far in importing e-addresses from Earthlink Web Mail to MAC Address Book. Found preferences and saved Earthlink addresses as csv.txt file but AB rejected as not true csv. Apple suggested conversion to V cards but could not find that option in Earthlink-ville. Perused Allan's post on synching with Total Access but fear accidentally installing stuff on my MACbook Pro from that application that is unneccessary or will screw up my new MAC world. Although in the long run, having Web mail back up my MAC makes sense. (Work and husband remain PC/ XP.)
Any solutions you can offer will be much appreciated.
Macbook Pro   Mac OS X (10.4.9)

Thanks again. Okay, I pasted a portion of the csv file . I might be mistaken here, but I don't think these are V card format and perhaps converting them to V cards is what I'd have to do. But I would need pretty explicit directions.

  • Premiere Not Accepting FCP XML Files

    Premiere CS4
    FCS 3
Every time I try and import a file from Final Cut using the XML script into Premiere, Premiere tells me that the importer has reported a generic importing error.  To my understanding, the Apple's XML Script was largely set for importing into Premiere.  Does anyone know what a generic importing error is?  Has anyone else had this problem?

Not that it's ever any consolation, but it is 11 months since I bought a brand spankin' new hi-powered computer and installed CS4, and it is only now that all the bits and pieces have settled down enough to actually do any work without some problem or another.
I have shut off automatic updates for all my software and can guarantee that there is nothing that will entice me to upgrade/update/modify what's working. After almost a year of putting up with Adobe and Apple's crashing matches, I have a system that works and I intend to keep it that way.
    No Win 7, No CS5, No FCP3!
I'll never understand how AE and PS can work so flawlessly while all the NLE's are a disaster.
Have fun all you early adopters! From here on out, I'm with Jim Simon!
    UPDATE:
AFTER EXTENSIVE TESTING, IT IS APPARENT THAT THE FCP STUDIO 2, IMPORTED XML TIMELINE STILL CAUSES PROBLEMS.
FOR EXAMPLE, MARK AN IN AND OUT POINT AND ATTEMPT AN EXTRACT. BE SURE TO SAVE YOUR PROJECT FIRST BECAUSE IT WILL LOCK UP AND NEED TO BE REOPENED.
OKAY, SO LET'S JUST DELETE IT. NOW GRAB THE REST OF THE TIMELINE AND TRY TO CLOSE THE GAP. ANOTHER CRASH!
YOU WOULD THINK THAT ADOBE WOULD WANT TO HAVE FCP PROJECTS IMPORTED INTO PRPRO, BUT THEY STILL DON'T HAVE IT TOGETHER.
UNLIKE BEFORE, I CAN NOW PLAY THE TIMELINES AND DO SOME LIMITED EDITING LIKE DRAGGING EACH CLIP ONE AT A TIME IN THE REST OF THE TIMELINE TO CLOSE THE GAP AFTER A DELETE AND CAN EXTEND OR SHRINK A CLIP BUT CANNOT ACTUALLY EDIT IN ANY WAY ANYONE WOULD WANT TO BOTHER WITH.
THIS IS A YEAR AFTER CS4 WAS RELEASED! I CAN'T EVEN BEGIN TO IMAGINE HOW LONG IT WILL TAKE TO INTEGRATE XML'S FROM THE NEW VERSION OF FCP.

  • External Drves Not accepting Final Cut Files?

After attempting to save my files in my ext. HD (usb 300 gig) it will not open the file and states file unable to open. when I look in the info tab it shows nothing.
If I change the storage default to the internal drive, it saves it and it can be retrieved just fine. Any idea why it wont save to ext HD? it works ok with the iMovie files just fine?
    Thanks
    Tim

I did designate it as a scrtch drive, but I m thinkin the ext HD should be FW, Thanks for such a quick response.
Something I just tried and worked well, --- I copied from my int HD to the ext HD (FC files) and it worked, but too many stepps, i'm going to get a FW hd , any advice?
    Thanks

  • ITunes will not accept my .xml file for podcast

I'm really not exactly sure what I am doing wrong here. I have done a handful of podcasts over the years and never had a problem submitting a new feed. Now that I have a new show that I want to submit, iTunes give me the error: We had difficulties reading this feed, connection reset. I have done some Google'ing but can't really seem to find the exact answer as to what is wrong.
    Here is my feed: http://www.howdyinc.com/sass/itunes.xml
Any help would be much appreciated. Many thanks in advance.
    B.

FeedValidator finds no errors, and you feed can be subscribed to manually in iTunes (from the 'Advanced' menu). However your 'enclosure' tag is not structured in the normal way and this may be the issue. It reads:
    <enclosure url="http://www.howdyinc.com/sass/SASS.01.mp3" length="11639193" type="audio/mpeg"  ></enclosure>
    It should read
    <enclosure url="http://www.howdyinc.com/sass/SASS.01.mp3" length="11639193" type="audio/mpeg" />

  • HFS File system with case sensitive is not accepted to install creative cloud? Is there any other way but install the whole MacOS again after formatting the drive. I cannot belief that Adobe is so bad to it's Mac customers..

After many hours setting up OS10.10 from he scratch the last step should be installing m Adobe apps again.
trying this I always get the error message that creative cloud does not accept case sensitive file systems and I shall use another drive.
This means I have to set up the whole machine again after formatting without case sensitive but then having copy problems with my NAS?
I cannot belief that Adobe is really demanding this. If so this would show how urgent this market need alternatives and some more competition...

  • Itunes producer does not accept itmsp file

Having a problem with ITPR accepting the .itmsp package. Neither dropping from Finder nor selecting choose and navigating to file will allow file to drop (greyed out via Finder attempt to open).
Not sure what the problem is…I changed “textbook” to Book on first pane in ITPR because this book is not a textbook, but a book of images. I tried to change back to textbook, but that option is no longer available?
Since all the data is entered I would really prefer not to start from scratch….if it is choosing "book" rather than “textbook” which was mistaken, how to undo?
But that is a guess - any other reason ITPR would not accept the .itmsp file but does accept .ibooks file?
    any help appreciated,

No red K T. To make sure we are on the same page (pane): ITPR>ASSETS with two placeholders...
The issue is that ITPR does not recognize the itmsp file - won't accept it. No error return, just nada.
FWIW, I decided to start again because I've become convinced there is a glitch in ITPR (I've written feedback)
This time I set prefs in iba to open itpr on creation of the itmsp. (That is a lot of abbreviations )
ITPR opens up WITH the itmsp file preloaded and accepts the droppped ibooks file. I am currently re entering 32 price listings - a terrible waste of time. Hope you can add the feedback I just have to the iba and itpr teams....

  • IPOD 5G NOT ACCEPTING VIDEO PLEASE RESPOND

I'm sure there has been multiple posts about this issues in the past but i need some help. When I try to connect my 5g to itunes it does not accept the video files but does accept the audio. I get a message that says "some of the files cannot be played on this ipod". What is goin on??
Can someone help me solve this problem or give me a link to past threads discussing and solving this problem?
    Thanks.

    My pleasure
    1. Fist you you to the Movies tab, uncheck the check box "Sync the following...."
    2. Click on the "+" button on bottom-left conner to add the movie. A dialog will open, search for your movie. 1 movie a time.
    3. It will do the rest of convertion for you.
    4. Look in to the folder where PSPWare stored the convertion files and take it (C:\Documents and Settings\....\My Documents\PSPWare\Movies)
    5. Go to iTunes on File->Add files to Lib and look for the movie file you just converted.
It should show on the Movies section of iTunes, and it will copy to iPod next time you plug it in.
There are some more configuration in converting movie on PSPWare if you want to try it (button "Options..."). If not then you still get nice movies on iPod.
Goodluck, let me know if you need any help. Cheers

  • FCP Projects Converted To .m2v In Compressor Are Not Accepted ?

Normally I export my FCP projects as QuickTime Movies and drop them into iDVD 08.
I have just exported to Compressor and ended up with a .m2v and a .ac3 file which work in Toast and DVD Studio Pro but cannot be dropped into the iDVD window.
    They jump straight out !
I have also tried importing them via the File menu with no success.
What am I doing wrong ?
I have just searched the iDVD Help menu again and discovered this:-
"MPEG-1 or MPEG-2 files, QuickTime VR movies, and movies with sprite or Flash tracks cannot be added".
Does that mean that my .m2v files (which I believe are MPEG-2) will not work and the best I can do is to export from FCP as QT Movie ?
Message was edited by: Ian R. Brown

That is what it means. iDVD will not accept pre-encoded files. However, I would be curious to know why you would want to use iDVD when you have and know how to use DVD Studio Pro? IMHO, on big disadvantage to iDVD is that it doesn't use AC3 or compressed audio, it uses uncompressed PCM.

  • No target for MPEG-2 and video elementary stream

What the heck does "could not create the DVD because there was no target that is an MPEG-2 elementary stream" mean?
I'm trying to create a DVD but once Compressor 3.5 was about to finish it said that. I tried to export from FCP to create a .aiff and then make a ac-3 from there. DVD Studio Pro Compressor not working.

Elementary streams are the two components that make up each movie's content on a DVD.
A video track in MPEG 2 format and an audio track in AC3 or AIFF format.
Sounds like the video part is missing in your case.
