DVDSP 4 and blue laser

In the manual for DVDSP 4 it says that you can create a project in the blue laser format (assuming blue laser is the same as Blu-Ray). Is it just possible to create a blue laser format project at present, or can you actually burn blue laser discs?

Guess I was really thinking towards full implemention, such as menus working.
As an aside, from some of the earlier issues, from what I have been told it seems the Toshiba's were recently updated (not sure if it was firmware or just subsequent runs) to be able to play H.264.
Also saw some more of the blu-ray (it is very cool). Will be real interesting to see if DVD SP is actually going to evolve to do full blu ray discs. If Apple is able to make a full implementation in the near future for one or both formats, it would be impressive.

What is the blue laser option in DVD SP in the disc volume tab intended for?

As Eric mentioned, it's for HD players. Both HD-DVD and Blu-ray make use of blue lasers, while our current DVD writers and players make use of red lasers. The blue allows for the data to be written in a finer manner (physics stuff). I always thought of it as the setting for what type of laser the disc will be read with, but you'd need to burn with a blue laser in order for reading with a blue laser to mean anything

Dmp file and blue screen error Windows 7

Hi,
Just wondering if someone can tell me how to read the dmp file created after the blue screen appears ?
I have just recently upgraded my Toshiba P300 from Vista 64 bit to Windows 7 Home Prem 64 bit.
I dont know why Windows 7 keeps crashing and so far I have no idea of how to open the .dmp
file (I have zipped the dmp file and attahced below).

Use iTunes to do a reset to factory default condition. Always be sure to do your backups before fiddling with your iPad. You might do both the iCloud and the iTunes backup, just to be sure!

I just returned home from a visit to the Genius Bar. Like you and many others, when I upgraded my iPad 2 to IOS 8, it became practically unusable. It was VERY slow, lagged whenever trying to to do anything. Lots of screen freezes and apps spontaneously crashing. I was convinced that the processor on the iPad 2 just couldn't handle the new IOS and I went in to see about restoring to IOS 7.
Thankfully, I was hooked up with a very sharp guy at the bar. The problem is not with the OS, it is with it being an *upgraded* OS. He used the analogy of when you had an older Windows computer and how over time (and over upgrades), they just tended to get slower and slower because of all of the garbage that was carried forward in the upgrades. At those times (and if you've ever had a Windows computer, you get this), the only thing that would speed it up would be to wipe the machine and do a fresh install of the current OS and then reload your apps, and the viola, everything would be fast again. Well, it turns out that IOS can suffer the same problems.
THE FIX: FIRST, be sure you have a current iCloud backup of your device. Connect your iPad to a computer that has a clean fresh copy of IOS 8 on iTunes (this is best done with a computer other than the one that you sync your device to because you DO NOT want to restore it from a back up just yet). Ideally, if you do this at an Apple store you'll be assured of the right version there and someone to answer any questions you might have along the way. You then hold the power and home button down to hard-reset the device and continue to hold them down until it reboots into recovery mode. You then follow the instructions on the computer to reinstall the OS on the device (which wipes everything from it and then reinstalls a clean copy of it). Once this is done (which only takes about 15 minutes), your device will reboot and ask you to set it up. Answer the questions about language, location, etc. and continue until it asks you to log into your iTunes account. Once you do that, it will ask if you want to either 1) Set it up as a new device, 2) Restore from iCloud, or 3) Restore from iTunes. Choose (2), restore from iCloud. This will ensure that it brings down "clean" copies of all of your apps and preferences rather than the potentially corrupted ones that might reside in your iTunes backup. That's it! It will take a few hours depending on how much data and apps you have, but I am happy to report that my iPad 2 is now running IOS 8 and it's running as fast as it ever did when it was brand new!
To sum it up, this process 1) Wipes your device and the garbage causing your problems, 2) Loads a clean and bug-free version of IOS 8 to your device, and 3) restores your apps and data so that it looks just like it did before the wipe, with the exception that it works now! :-)
Note also that by following this process you don't have to go through the painful and laborious process of reloading all of your apps, data and/or settings. iCloud takes care of all of that for you.

What is the process for connecting ethernet. Have ethernet cable connected to stereo received for internet radio and Blue Ray. However Network System Preferences indicates ethernet not connected and has red dot to left. Note Airport wireless is working.

It worked for me finally. I took out the DNS numbers in airport admin utility, and restarted the airport express. I do not remember putting the DNS numbers in, I wonder from where the airport express got those numbers.
After restarting, it worked.

Screen turned black and blue?

i dropped my phone today from not that high and the screen turned black with blue lines all over it and it won't work. i have no clue what to do or how to fix it? after 4 hours of this, siri started working but my screen is still black and blue.... any ideas of why it did this? and how to fix it?

2005 iBook G4 lcd display has turned streaky fuzzy pink and blue

Boot up laptop screen looks fine. Goes to sleep, wake it up, screen is now weird. Gone fuzzy, no true colors, looks streaky, pink and blue. I rebooted, no change. I'm plugged in, so it is not a power/battery issue. Since I've had this since 2005 I suspect I have to replace the screen, but heck I don't know. Can an expert help me here? This is from the service manual for the 14" 1.42 GHz mid '05:
"xScrambled or distorted video
Check for video on external display.
• If video is fine on external display, replace LVDS cable.
• If video is scrambled or distorted on external display, replace LCD panel."
That last line is a bit extreme AFAIC. I suppose a bad display could cause the GPU to put out distorted video. So if it was me I'd unplug the LDVS cable and then if the external display cleared up then I'd replace the LCD panel.
The 1.42 also uses the ATI Mobility Radeon 9550 4x AGP I have one of these in a 1.33 12" and it went bad. My normal repair is to swap in a good chip from a PC laptop graphics card. Unfortunately I can't find a cross reference to that chip being used anywhere else but the iBook 1.33 and 1.42.

Have you tried resetting PMU? Does any of this involve moving the screen? That's one of my checks for a bad LVDS.

Aperture 2.0 - Many Pictures now Seeing RED in lighted areas and BLUE

Here's my problem, I just upgraded to Aperture 2.0 and many of my pictures now have bright lighted areas (like a light) showing up as RED in the viewer. I'm not sure if they will print this way, but I'm a bit concerned. I was able to go into the adjustments area and tweak "Recovery" up a notch to get rid of the red, but I have over 10,000 photos so I don't see this as a very useful solution. I also found areas of BLUE in black areas for photo, again a small adjustment to the black point removed this.
So I have a couple of questions:
1. Can someone explain to me these areas of RED and BLUE and why they would occur.
2. How do I fix this on my Library without distorting my photos.

You must have activated the "highlight hot and cold areas" function. No, you photos will not print with those highlights, and you can toggle them on and off either through the view menu (the option to turn on highlight hot and cold areas is near the bottom), or simply press option-shift-h.
This feature is great for recovering highlights and bringing out shadow detail using the recovery and black point sliders in the adjustments pane.

Try resetting it. Hold the on/off and home buttons together for about 10 seconds till the Apple logo appears.

The Brother HL-5340D is an excellent choice. It's much cheaper to operate in the long run than others. I did a cost breakdown between it and an HP printer here.
However the HL-5340D is discontinued. We paid $170 for ours new, and new ones that remain are at a price gouging $530. The current nearest model is the updated HL-5450DN for $185.

Other color LaserJet products that support e-print are the HP LaserJet Pro CM1415 Series and the CP1525 Series.

Opening photo in camera raw using cs5 and photo has lots of red and blue in the image?

I am trying to open a photo in camera raw and the image always has a lot of red and blue in the picture? What can I do to avoid this. When I first started learning photoshop this did not happen?

Perhaps it would be helpful if you'd post a screen grab showing the problem. I honestly can't tell from what you're writing whether you're seeing a bug or maybe you've saved some oddball Camera Raw Defaults.
Considering it could be the latter, have you considered setting the image development settings for that image to defaults, or even Resetting the Camera Raw Defaults (which will affect all images in the future)?
