DVDSP 4 Inserting 2 shots

I compressed a 55 minute piece in compressor 3 and burned a DVD through DVDSP4 and noticed that 2 vari-sped shots have bad interpolation. Being the perfectionist I want to just fix those 2 shots and just recompress those 2 shots and insert them into the timeline in DVDSP, can this be done? Or would I have to go back and recompress the whole thing from FCP?

Once again, we figured it out...it's a long process but here's how you do it. You laydown your 55 minute piece and then trim the out to the point where you want to insert the new piece. Then insert the new piece. Then take your 55 minute clip and drop it in at the end of the new short inserted piece, then trim the in of the second 55 minute clip until it meets the insert and is in sync again.
For example let's use easy timecodes....Let's say the insert piece goes in at 00:30:00:00 for 1 second. You trim the out to 00:30:00:00 then insert your new piece, now the timeline goes to 00:30:01:00. Then take the 55 minute piece and drop it in at 00:30:01:00, now your timeline length is 01:25:01:00. Then trim the head of that clip to the place that would be in sync at the cut at 00:30:01:00, viola. It will ripple automatically on you.

When i tested the scenario and monitored it using MDT in CC monitoring tool its giving me below mentioned error.
The XML page cannot be displayed
Cannot view XML input using style sheet. Please correct the error and then click the Refresh button, or try again later.
XML document must have a top level element. Error processing resource 'http://myurlname/mdt/me...
However if i change the occurence of DATA as some specific value for eg 4 instead of * it works fine.
Kindly help me in solving this problem.

Prompted to sing in iCloud and iMessages every time i turn on Mac Book Pro

In the last few weeks, every time I turn on my Mac Book Pro, I get a pop up asking me to sign into iCloud and I messages. After doing so, I go to my Messages-Preferences and Accounts to ensure my iMessages is active and it is not so I have to re-enter my Apple id . Once entered, iMessages is activated but when I go to Account - Details, it asks me a window comes up and says, To view account information of (iMessage ), enter Apple ID; I do enter my ID then a pop up comes up with "account details" It lists my username and below two spaces for my password which has dots to represent characters. I know that password is not my current ID password as it is shorter. When I type in my current password, it tells me I must use a password I have not used in the past year. I don't understand? IT is not like I am changing a password because I have not clicked on the button below called " manage Apple ID; where i can change password etc".
Anyone can help me on this?

You showed a kernel panic file from OS X, apprantly Log Me In is installed into OS X or running when you log in.
You should be using the developers installer/unistaller to remove Log Me In from OS X.
Somehow it's in OS X, I don't know, but it's there and you need to remove it. I'm not dealing with Windows, just OS X.
Talk to Log Me In people and find out what is installed where so you can do a manual deletion out of OS X.
If that doesn't work, you have to reboot holding the Shift key down manually search for any Log Me In or Himachi files on your computer, in your System/Library/Extensions folder too, use the free Easy Find.

Can't enter text in iBooks fields (desktop app)

NOTE: I dunno how replies here are routed back to the post-er. If this site uses the email address tied to my apple store account I won't get your reply.
I am asking here about the Mac, or desktop, version of iBooks. Why can't I add or edit text in the document info fields?   <see inserted screen shot>    Most of my PDFs are song lede sheets or lyric sheets I have created. I often need to tweak the Title and/or Author info. Again -- I am NOT talking about eBooks but about PDF documents and PDF collections that the user stores in iBooks. Modifying the text in these fields via iTunes was a snap.   When Mavericks renived iBooks from its original iTunes portal to a standalone app, it dissed all the special test I had entered into the author and category fields. It kept the file name and nothing else.   All my PDFs entered the new iBooks showing my name as the author (??)
I have tried CMD-I cliicking on the files ... OPT-I....CTRL-I ...other keystrokes. I find no way to pull up a file info window or other interface that lets me edit these fields. I can't even change the NAME of the document without opening it, making a SAVE AS> copy to the desktop, changing the file name on the desktop, then reimporting the newly named file to replace the old one. Ugh! Is that really how Apple designed this desktop version?    -- David in Kansas City

Was the 'auto find' feature added by a Safari add-on? I don't recall Safari doing that by default. It sounds like that add-on is now interfering with the newer Safari - uninstall it if possible.

Issue : How to get better definition of fonts/typography in Keynote when exporting to HD Quicktime ?

I understand there are no possibilities to "add" a vector button to future keynote allowing crisper and smoother fonts. However, when writing texts with effects in a Keynote presentation, and exporting it to Quicktime , whatever the resolutions chosen and clors and settings, still,effects are smooths, but fonts/typography/texts are not clean, crisp and when using a big display in full screen , the .mov or .mpeg4 outcome still always displays poor resolution for text.
Anyone could suggest something ? I want to be able to choose my texts effects on Keynote, while securing an outstanding fonts/texts resolution and apperance when in HD movie, quicktime or else.

I have several video clips from iStockPhoto. I don't know what camera's/settings were used, but know that they are all 640x360 px and vary between 25 fps and 30 fps. I also have 3 still images that I have insterted that I formatted to be 640x360 to keep everything the same size. Everything appears correct when viewing the project as I've built it. I'm attaching a few screen shots of the most recent settings for export, though these are not the only that I have tried. Everything comes out with the same result.
I can't insert screen shots of my settings for some reason (?) but here is some info on my most recent try. I chose to export as a Microsoft DV AVI. Then in the Video options I'm using the DV NTSC codec. For size, I chose the D1/NTSC Widescreen 16:9 (1.2) option.
As for other times I've tried this, there are only 2 other codecs to choose from when saving as a DV AVI. I've tried both of them too. Everything has had the same result. I've tried a Quicktime file as well.
Does anyone have a suggestion as to the best file/codec/setting combination?

How to add a file as an object in Numbers spreadsheet

In MS Excel one can add any file namely doc, xls, PDF as an object in a spreadsheet......how can we do that in MAC Numbers

In Numbers for Mac,
Menu > Insert > Choose...
Navigate to the file that you want to insert.
You can insert screen shots, PDF documents and photographs. They will become pics (with restricted editing features).
I can't see a way to insert a doc, xls, Numbers, Pages or any other file type.
You can Copy from within a document and Paste into Numbers.
What are you trying to do?

Image Quality in Writer

Does Writer display all images as JPEGs? I am trying to insert screen shots of program into a Writer document and I am getting very fuzzy, low-quality display. The images are saved as bitmaps. I have also tried PNG. Regardless of the file format, I get the same fuzzy appearance in the Writer document. The images are crisp and clear in Paint Shop Pro.
I cannot show a document to somebody with this quality of image. No way. Not a chance. It will not work.

Are you upsizing them past their native resolution?
I haven't had that problem. I insert large high quality graphics into my Writer documents on occasion and they work just fine. No display quality issues at all.

Quality of reduced clip size

Hi,
I have noticed a reduction in picture quality when the frame is reduced in a clip (in the timeline and later when converted to a DVD) - for example, when a clip is added above another in the timeline and is reduced to show in the corner of a frame as a sort of 'insert' or 'montage'. I understand that the picture is being compressed to make it smaller but can the pixelation or chunky effect be minimized or eliminated when the picture is made small in the timeline? Is there a size that should not be used (a minimum reduction in size as a safe level)?
I noticed that this irritating chunkyness (is that a word?) or pixelation also happens when the clip is reduced in other programs such as DVDSP (when inserting motion clips into , say, a movie strip template - where each segment of film strip shows a different moving scene. It makes the filmstrip template almost useless as an option.
I use FCP4.5 HD and DVDSP 3
Any ideas?

What export settings do I use to creat a .mov from a .MTS file?

I have a .MTS file that needs to be exported to a .mov file for online submission guidelines. The picture quality is bad when there is movement. I inserted screen shots of the codecs for the native .MTS files and the export settings I used for a .mov files. I played around with the settings a lot. Issues while running batch file from SAP

Dear Experts,
I am executing a script from SAP which is running fine on my PC. But when I execute the same on user's PC he is getting the following error:
1. "Open File - Security Warning" pop-up appears when I execute the code on user's PC. The same does not appear on mine. I click on "Run" then it executes.
2. After the script gets run, SAP is not moving to another screen and gets hanged. It displays a message below "Running Script.bat' (and waiting)'...". Again this issue is only replicated on user's PC.

Table data alignment

Hello Every one.
In Adobe form I created table, if the data exceed to second page the alignment is not proper like I have 3 item details those are printed in right hand side, if the data exceeds second page those 3 item details are printed in right hand side. Please suggest me how it will move to right hand side in second page.

Yes. Tap the Grid icon in the menu bar (insert screen shot?). You should see options to turn the Grid on/off, as well as controls for Snap to gri, CSS Columns, and Grid details (spacing).

Verify/Repair Disk "in a loop"

I did notice high CPU usage which I narrowed down to a process mtmfs. I looked at https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3201661 and followed the steps to verify my disk. It resulted in telling me that my disk needs to be repaired. Please see inserted screen shot.
However when I follow the steps to repair the disk (CMD+R during startup, Disk Utility and Repair Disk) it tells me the the disk is ok, and therefore nothing is repaired.
If I do a verify disk after the "Repair" again, it shows the same message as shown at screen shoot.
Any idea how to get the problem resolved?

Live verification of the startup volume isn't reliable. You do not need Disk Warrior. Nobody who has backups needs it.
Delete the corrupt local snapshot database by turning Time Machine OFF and then back ON in its preference pane.

How to get rid of black bars on top, bottom and sides??

I am exporting a project from Adobe Premiere Pro (CS3) that is in HD (widescreen) format. The original video is HD, the size option I chose for the project is HD, everything is showing fine when I look at it in the Program window. I admit I am a bit of a novice Premiere user, so I do need a little help with the exporting as there are a ton of options. This is what is happening: When I export, whether to AVI or Quicktime my project comes out with black bars all the way around. Not like letterboxing on top and bottom as when you have a widescreen video exported to a standard 4:3 size, but almost like a 16:9 video, shrunken down a little with a 16:9 black box put around it. What the heck am I doing wrong. I'm sure it has something to do with some option on exporting, but I've tried messing around with the export options about 20 different ways. I'm desperate! Please help!

How to change BB desktop manager language ?

I downloaded BB desktop manager many times. Each time I download only ARABIC language is being installed. I tried downloading the ENGLISH version also. But STILL I have the same trouble. I read your post regarding this but I couldn't get any right solution for this. Please if anyone knows the correct step by step procedure for changing the language or any other solutions it would be really thankful.

In order to post a picture, you will first have to host it online at any one of the many free or paying hosting sites across the web. Photobucket is a good example. Then you can either post the picture as a link (suggested) or as a picture to be displayed. Either of those two can be done by clicking one of the two buttons in the posting menu above your message box when you are typing a response or new thread. The "Insert/edit link" button looks like a simple, silver chain link. The "Insert/edit image" looks like a tree with a blue background. Good luck.
