DVDSP Lock up upon "burn stage"

Question

Hi Forum...I've searched your database, and could not find anything on this...frustrating little issue that I'm SURE it's something that I'm doing wrong:
I completed a project in FCP, exported to and compressed in "Compressor 2.1", then loaded all of my finished, compressed, **** fine looking sequences into DVDSP 4 for the authoring. Created and "built" a project ,saved it to my Main HD (for testing) used the OS10 DVD player to check the video via TS Video file, every looked and worked FANTASTIC.
SO, I've got this macprovideo.com tutorial that I had open in one Cinedisply while I built my very FIRST DVDSP project in another. In the tutorial, it showed how to save the project to your HD, then just double click on the "TSVIDEO/xx .layout" file and the DVDSP inspector is supposed to open.
What this does is to try and open the DVDSP program, and the program then locks us. I've even tried to just reopen the project in DVDSP, and it still locks up, or does not even open it, and gives me the working/empty interface.
Can anyone offer some advise here? Thanks

That is so cool, I love that type of stuff , wildlife is a passion of mine, so question away to make sure you got it nailed so your are comfortable.
SO now I have to do a lot of work over? Also, is this nomal, caused by 'removal' of the assets during the "build phase".
When you build you are not removing assets, you are muxing them which makes folders - AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS which is the DVD. What happens when you make a disc image it makes an image with the Audio and Video folders without the layout and other files that are not needed in a DVD. So no change should occur (there may have something that had gotten corrupted in your situation.) What you should do is this:
1.) For each project make a seperate build location for the files (this is in the Build Dialog) MAKE SURE WHEN YOU OPEN A PROJECT THAT IT IS POINTED TO ITS BUILD FOLDER. (emphasiss aadded, not yelling ) If not it will build to another location and you may get a bit lost .
2.) Check that build folder in Apple DVD Player to make sure that it iss working (ultimately a burned DVD is better, but this gets you a long way)
3.) If it is all good in the Player use the FORMAT function (making sure that you point to the prroper Build folder) to write the image to the hard drive.
4.) Mount the image from 4 and see how it works
There should be no change from what you authored
A bit off topic, but do not know if you have gone remote before like that (Africa)
Taking a PowerBook/MacBook?
Definately look into getting some PMCIA/Express Cards and some storage. Also make a checklist ASAP of things you would need. Then bring extras of these things. Extra cables, cords (power, firewire etc.), blank DVDs Make sure you have at least one portable small drive with your entire computer OS and Apps on it (using SuperDuper/Retrospect etc.) so if something goes wrong you can get it alll back (make sure you have the serial numbers for your apps also, moving them back in the event of a crash sometimes needs reserialization.)
No matter how small or redundent you think something is, take it. You would be suprised what you may find yourself lacking when away from being able to pop down to the local computer store and somethings goes awry or you need to rig something up.
