DVI problems wif FX5200

Hi,
My Fx5200 does not output DVI. Anyone have suggestions as to what i can do to fix this problem

It either of the DVI-I connection that is being short due to the power failure I supposed... maybe another VGA with DVI-I connector can be placed in to test this out.

  • What are you doing about your problem wifi

Just wondering how people are handling their iPads with problem wifi.
    No need for discussions.
    Choices:
    A) Returned the iPad
    B) Fixed the wifi (somehow)
    C) Keeping the iPad with wifi not working
    thanks

Not exactly.. The HP Slate is a full-on computing experience, geared toward actual computer-related use,
..and based on an OS that was designed to be used with a keyboard and mouse with applications also designed to use a keyboard and mouse. Unless Win7 has had a miraculous make-over with tablets in mind from the bottom up, the experience will be painful. For example, you'll find it necessary to keep a stylus at all times because the controls are fine tuned to the discrete and accurate mouse pointer, not the large size of the human digit. I used an HP tablet for two summers and tried very hard to use it as a tablet and not a notebook. I always wound up with the keyboard. Yeah, the Slate is going to be a wonderful experience...
where the iPad is more for entertainment.
Yeah, that explains why I've been able to handle so much of my work on the iPad from creating documents and presentation to even starting a rather complex illustration. No, the iPad isn't a notebook computer - nor was it meant to be. All my Pages and Keynote documents have been moved from the iPad to my computer for final touch-ups but that's okay for me. The documents ultimately get used from there anyway.
There are always trade-offs when we want to shrink our computer small enough to carry around and the tablet requires even more trade-offs. Apple chose to lighten the OS so the drag on the processor and battery is reduced. HP chose to design around Windows 7 so it has to accept a combination of slower speed and reduced battery life. The next question is how will developers react to the HP Slate - will they build special apps for it or will they slap on tabletish interfaces to their Windows programs. I'm betting most will choose the latter. More drain on battery and speed. That's why I predict the HP Slate will be another Microsoft non-starter.

  • DVI problems

    Hi,
I have this DVI monitor which was able to work when using DVI interface
However i do not know what happen. I had a power failure in my home, and the computer was shut off. When the power was back, I turn on my computer, there was an error message that appeared on my PHILIPS monitor(170B4) "no video input". Using a Vga interface allowed me to use the monitor. I m using FX5200 128 tdr. SO my question is which one is spoilt? the graphic card or the LCD monitor?
OR is there a way to counter this problem

It either of the DVI-I connection that is being short due to the power failure I supposed... maybe another VGA with DVI-I connector can be placed in to test this out.

  • DVI-I on FX5200 TD128

I have just bought an FX5200 TD128 + a DV172 LCD Panel and the DVI doesn't work on the MSI Vid card. The DVI of the LCD has been tested on another machine and works fine.
This is not a driver problem because it won't even send a signal through a DOS screen etc....
I have tried every resource I can find for an answer to this but just can't get it working... can anyone help.... please...

Are you using only the DVI monitor or 1xDVI 1+xVGA ?
Does a regular analog VGA monitor work on the VGA output ?
Does a regular analog VGA monitor work on the DVI output+adapter ?
Did you try another flat panel monitor on this DVI output ?

  • MacBook mini-dvi problem

Suddenly my mini-dvi port on my MacBook C2D 2.0 GHz White (late 2006) stopped working properly.
When I connect an LCD monitor using mini-dvi to vga adapter there is no signal but when I connect the monitor using mini-dvi to dvi adapter everything works fine. As far as I understand there is something wrong with the analog signal in my MacBook's mini-dvi port because the problem is definitely not in the mini-dvi to vga adapter as I bought a new one and the problem did not disappear.
I would appreciate any help. Is there any way to fix the problem besides replacing the logic board?

By the way, what I also found out is that when I connect display to my MB it even detects the name of the monitor, which can be seen in the display preferences. For example at work I use BenQ FP72E and when I connect it to my MB through mini-dvi to vga I can see the exact name of this monitor in display preferences but still there is no signal on the external monitor.

  • Mini display port to DVI problems

    Hello community,
I have a question regarding the connection from an iMac via the mini display port to a DVI input at a TFT monitor. I have an older TFT monitor and now I connected the iMac with this monitor via mini display port -> DVI adapter -> DVI cable -> monitor.
It is quite a simple connection, but actually when I force Mac OSX to detect external monitors it does not react at all. Mac OSX behaves as if there is no connection to an external monitor.
I already told this to my reseller and they told me that the adapter is not working correctly and they gave me another one. With that one I have exactly the same problem and now I'm quite sure, that it is not a problem of the adapter, but somehow my iMac does not find the external monitor.
Is there probably an underlying problem I do not understand yet?
By the way, my very old Macbook White has no problems detecting the monitor. If I use the older video output it works fine, but the new output at my iMac 21,5 inch does not work with my monitor.
My question is, why does it not work and what kind of monitor do I need, that it can be connected with my iMac (via DVI)?

Is the adapter plugged in all the way in the Mini DisplayPort?  It takes more force than you might expect.

  • MiniDisplayPort out to DVI problems

I bought a Mini DisplayPort to DVI cable from Monoprice, and it has some problems. I'm connecting it to a Gateway 1920x1200 monitor. If the resolution of that monitor is set to anything lower than 1280x960, everything works fine. If I go above that, weird things start to happen. Random pixels across the screen start to flicker to white, making the screen appear to be sparkling. Sometimes, depending what I have on the screen, black lines will appear on the screen. If I try to run full-screen video, the screen just turns black. I think the cable is not transmitting data fast enough. Is this a problem with the computer, or will another cable work better?

The native resolution of your 15" MBP is 1440x900. If you are connecting the external display and running in *mirror mode,* you are limited to that maximum. If you switch to *extended desktop mode* you can set the resolution for the external display up to 1920x1200 and possibly higher depending on the monitor (the setting is done in System Preferences > Displays).
It sounds like you are running in mirror mode and your external display itself is set for some higher resolution than the MBP can support in mirror mode.
In my case, I am using the Apple miniDisplayPort-DVI adapter and a monoprice DVI-HDMI cable to connect to my 40" Sony Bravia and it works perfectly.

  • DVI problem with MacBook pro

I bought a new DVI to HDMI cord for my Mac, which is the older mac before changing all the outputs and keyboard and all. It is probably about 3 years old. My problem is the TV is picking up the signal from the computer, but it will only display the background I have on my computer, not what I am working on like the internet or playing a moive. Any suggestions on what I can do to pull that picture up?

    Welcome to the Forums!
The proper sequence is to have the external display and the MBP on, connect the adapter to the external display cable, then plug the adapter into the MBP. It should auto-detect.
Go to System Preferences > Displays - is there an Arrangement tab? If so, the MBP has detected the display correctly. If not, click Detect Displays.
Also, are you sure your TV is set up to display the signal from the MBP? The MBP should auto-detect, but your TV may need to be set to line-in, or something like that.
I routinely use my MBP with monitors (DVI), projectors (DVI-to-VGA), and have used with S-video to a VCR (with the DVI-to-Video adapter).
    Hope this helps...

  • Strange Mini DVI Problem.

Hello, I've used the Mini-DVI Video Adapter (http://a248.e.akamai.net/7/248/2041/1178/store.apple.com/Catalog/US/Images/m9319 ga_125.gif) for a week without a problem. Just now, I accidently clicked the "Detect Displays" button on the NTSC/PAL window that seems to have disabled the video out function, and reset my iMac display back to my normal viewing resolution. I unplugged the video adapter and restarted my computer, but that didn't help. When I plug the adapter back in, my iMac display remains at 1440 x 900 and does not show the NTSC/PAL window in the System Preferences. Resetting the PRAM didn't resolve the problem.

*Oops, too quick to post.* What I got instead was the
VGA preference window, instead of the NTSC/PAL
settings. I'm still not getting any video output to
my old analog TV... What preference files do I need
to delete to resolve this problem?
    Thanks in advance.
ugh.. dammit! i thought i could help you out with the problem but i think i got my self in the same predicament as you! it seems like clicking that button makes the system think the adapter is a VGA input? weird.

  • MacBook (late 2007) 2.2 Ghz mini DVI to DVI Problem

    Hi,
I still got my second MacBook 2.2 Ghz and still have the same problem like before. Always when I connect my 19" TFT Display with the mini DVI to DVI Adapter something disturbs my WLAN Connection, so that i can't load any Webpage in Safari anymore.
Does anybody have some experiences with the MacBook (late 2007) and the mini DVI to DVI Adapter?

    Hello,
I do have same problem, it quite annoying, could you please let me know if you find the solution.
Thank you very much. Is Hardware problem, I'm wondering if it needs to be reported to apple.
    Thank you.

  • Mac mini+hp w2216 monitor (DVI)= problems!

The strangest thing happened when I moved my Mac mini (G4, 1.42 GHz) from an Apple Cinema Display (no problems) to a new HP w2216 (1680x1050 wide screen monitor). I connected with a DVI cable. At first, it worked. But after a while, artifacts started to develop, especially when moving windows around, until finally the monitor would not pick a signal. Brought monitor back to the store, where it worked flawlessly when connected to a PC using the same DVI cable. Monitor works fine with analog VGA cable!
Artifacts looked similar to those shown here: http://www.freewebs.com/themagius/minidvipics.htm, so it seems this is some incompatibility between the graphics card of the mini and the HP display. Any other idea how to fix this?

The old G4 mini has trouble with monitors that have something called a non-coherent TMDS (DVI) receiver. The solution is to use SwitchRes X and build a custom resolution using the CVT-RB setting under the "Use simplified settings" option in the custom timing set up window. This causes the pixel clock to lower to a value where the coherency/non-coherency matter is not an issue. Here are more specific instructions for using SwitchRes X once you have downloaded and installed it. By the way, download and install the lighter version of the program instead of the full version. The lighter version is called SwitchRes X Control Panel.
Open SwitchRes X and click on the Custom tab. Click the "+" to start a new timing. A window will open with a checkbox near the lower left that says, "Use simplified settings". Check the box and then, in the associated pop-up, select "CVT-RB". RB stands for reduced blanking and it will cause the pixel clock to lower. Enter "1680" for Horizontal Active, "1050" for Vertical Active and "60" for Vertcal Scan rate. Those are the only three boxes you can fill in. The built-in calculator fills in the remaining values. Then follow the directions for saving and restarting. Now in Displays Preferences should be two 1680 x 1050 timings. One is the standard one and one is the custom one you just built. You may not be able to tell which is which so you'll have to try both. One of them should be stable.

  • DisplayPort to DVI problems - motion is choppy even when moving windows.

I just got my Mac Pro 8 core (2009). I have two monitors connected to it. Anything that happens on the second monitor(connected to the DisplayPort via a DisplayPort to DVI adapter) is choppy. I can't even move or reposition windows smoothly. Additionally, Final Cut Pro will not let me use the second monitor to play my video out as I could with my previous mac pro (2008) which had two DVD ports.
What's up with this DisplayPort causing these issues?

Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't realize both cards Apple sold as stock came with the mini display port.
So really then your having just problems on the monitor that's attached to the mini display port? That's become fairly typical. Well, I'd still try the update, especially if you only used Software Update which can be lacking at times.
But there is another option I've read here about that has fixed some peoples problems with that adapter. It's yet another adapter and it's this one: http://store.apple.com/us/product/MB571Z/A?fnode=MTY1NDA5OQ&mco=MjkyNjI0Mg
Highly priced and not highly rated I know, but these were recommended after people first started having problems with these crummy new adapters.
I know myself, I bought two of the $20 dollar priced ones and neither worked well. The adapter only worked for my 20" ACD. But I have the 285 now so no more worries there.
The card you have is a little underpowered anyway, maybe this card would be more to your liking.

  • IPad WiFi Connection Problems - WiFi Symbol Appears With Full Bars but I Don't Get A Checkmark?

I was using the iPad one day and then all of a sudden it stopped connecting to the internet. The network at this hotel is very good and I've asked them about their router so it is not the router's problem.
I go to the Settings and tap on Wi-Fi then I tap on the hotel network. After a few seconds, it says the network name beside the Wi-Fi tab and it gives me the WiFi symbol showing 3 bars. But then I never get the checkmark or tick saying everything is connected. I try going online and it says the iPad is not connected to the internet. I've tried an iPhone and it connected and got a checkmark in a few seconds. I've talked to the front desk and he took out his phone and showed me that he could connect, he even opened a page without any problems at all.
I've been trying to find a solution for this for a long time. I've been searching Google over and over again. I turned Airplane Mode on for 1 minute, I've tried Resetting my Network settings, I've tried forgetting the network and reconnecting again, I've tried removing all restrictions from the iPad, I've rebooted the iPad A LOT, etc.
So this is my problem for people who don't want to read the whole message:
    1. I can't connect to the internet with the iPad
    2. It shows the WiFi symbol saying its connected but I never get the checkmark or tick.
    3. It's not the router problem.
    4. I've tried other networks and it doesn't work. It just keeps on showing that loading circle right beside the network name.
    5. Do any of you know what this problem is? Or do you have a solution?
Thank you for reading this and have a great day

Since you are in a hotel, some of these are not applicable.

    Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

  • ITunes sync with cable problem (WiFi sync works OK though)

When I connect my Iphone 4S to iTunes (win 7 premium 64bit) and sync songs/images, they end up all halfcomplete and glitchy on my iphone.
For example: Songs are incomplete and glitchy (begins in the middle of the song when played etc.)
Some images are totally black, or half glitch pixelated etc.
Ive tried with another cable/USB-ports, still same problem. Thinking about trying another computer but since the iphone can only sync to one iTunes at a time, its quite inconvienient..
When I WiFi-sync it syncs OK though.
Any ideas what could be wrong? Computer, iphone hardware etc?

Plug your phone in with the cable - then in your device menu, you'll see "Sync with this iPhone over Wi-Fi" as an option in Summary page under Options.  The rest will be history.
