DVR Stops recording

About once a week, my HD DVR just stops recording and I have to reboot it. I have only had U-verse for only two months and this has consistently happened every week. I always go to the help screen to reboot it, but this is ridiculous. If I am not home to see that it doesn't record, I lose my shows. Has this happened to anyone else?

That's odd and have not heard it before.
If the DVR functions are still not working, try a Non-Destructive Disaster Recovery.
Unplug the power cord of the DVR from the wall or from the back of the box and wait ten seconds. Plug the DVR back in.
When three white dots appear on the screen, unplug the DVR again. Repeat this process two more times.
Plug the DVR back in on the third time and leave in. Three white dots appear followed by a gear with a status bar at the bottom of the screen.
If the Disaster Recovery screen does not appear, repeat the steps above. If the Disaster Recovery screen appears, wait until completion.
If the Non-Destructive Disaster Recovery does not work, follow the steps for a Force Disaster Recovery
Re-downloads all the software. Will not erase recordings, takes a bit of time or so. Good luck

    Ever since the last system upgrade, my qip6416 stops recording at 80%.  Anyone else have this problem or ever hear of it?

    I occasionally record a PBS TV show from my computer to my DVR box. When I watch the recorded show, the recording stops before the show has ended and I miss the ending of the program I have recorded.

  • DVR stops recording before the show ends

    Frequently,   when we watch one of the shows we recorded, the recording appears to have stopped early.
    We go to the program guide and click record for the show we want to record.  Sometimes, the recording stops before the previews end.

    That's the station's fault. Frequently they go a minute or two later than what's scheduled. If you know of any programs that normally go beyond what they are supposed to, then add a few minutes onto the end of the scheduled recording.

    I was wondering if anyone else has had an issue with their DVR splitting a show into two segments?
    I have the Motorola 7216? Home Media DVR.  At times, when we record a show, and then go to play it, the show will be listed in the Recorded Programs as two shows.  For instance, the first listing will list that the show recorded for 7 minutes.  Then, the second listing of the same show will show that it recorded for the remaining 23 minutes.  It is the same 30 minute show, but for some reason, the DVR stops recording after so many minutes, and then finishes recording the show as a second show.
    Has this happened with anyone else, and if so, is there anything that can be done to fix this?  The only answer I have gotten from Verizon is to unplug the DVR to reset it. 
    This doesn't happen all the time, but it happens enough that I find this annoying.
    I would appreciate any input anyone can give.  Thanks.

    This has happened to me on occasion, but  the reason was that there was a power surge, and the box rebooted.  Or, if the STB crashes and reboots, it also splits the recording.  Other than power issues or stb reboots, it hasn't happened, and I have the same STB.

  • DVR says it's full and stops recording when it's not

    About 10 times over the past 3 months, I've gotten an on screen message saying the dvr was full and it would stop recording.  When I would go to check how full the drive was it would be 10%, 7%, 20%.  Very rarely does it go above 50% full.  Anyone have this happen to you?

    To fix the space being reported incorrectly press menu, then go to CUSTOMER SUPPORT, then IN HOME AGENT, then SET TOP BOX AUTO CORRECTION. Please let us know if further assistance is required.

  • SERIES STOP RECORD "DISC FULL"

    Since the new software was loaded on my STB I've had shows being recorded by the series manager stop recording because "the DVR disc is out of space." I checked and it was less than 70% full in every instances. I happened to be watching other shows at the time and manually recorded the remainder of the program. It did it for "Flashpoint" twice but stopped when I deleted the series and reentered it. Tonight it did it for "Outcast." If I'm not watching TV I'm afraid I'll miss it and I don't want to have to manually reinstall all my series settings.
    Any ideas?

    The memory pointer for the DVR is not set correctly. An easy way to get it back to the right spot is to unplug the power cord to the DVR for 1 min then plug back in.

  • DVR not recording properly after upgrade

    After the DVR software upgrade, my DVR is now missing shows or recording both the HD and SD version of shows.  It's possible it's missing shows because it can't record two shows at once because it's busy recording both HD and SD versions of the same show.  There are lots of complaints on the new color scheme which I agree with, but could get used to.  But if the DVR isn't going to record properly, what use is it?  How do I fix this?

    I'm seeing the same thing.  DVR tried to record 2 SD and 1 HD broadcast of series set to All Channels, All Types, Any Time, First-Run Only.  Old software only recorded HD and was smart enough to not record the concurrent SD broadcast.  This is clearly a bug and the resolution is we all need to go change our config to just record the HD type?  I got the same rec on twitter just now.  There's just not enough people reporting the problem.
    Specifics?  "Formula One Racing" broadcast 11/8 on channels 90, 590, 1544.  Old software only recorded 590.  New software recorded 90 and 590, and when I stopped recording 90, it tried to record 1544 (I was watching another channel).  Chose Cancel, then 30 seconds later got another conflict warning because it wanted to start recording 90, again.  It's just annoying at this point.
    BTW, new STB theme is ugly, if you're taking a poll.
    *Edit* Just thought of another problem, that I'm pretty sure is happening.  When deciding to record all of them, it looks like the sort is ascending channel order.  If there's something else being recorded, that means that only the first SD is recorded, not the HD.  At least now I understand what happened last week when my show was only recorded in SD.

    I'm using my iPhone 6 Plus Voice Memos app to record my lecture in the university, the problem is sometimes the app stop recording and this is causing me major problem.
    Note that I'm putting my iPhone on Airplain mode to avoid stopping the recording if someone called me.
    The WiFi is sometimes ON while recording, but in all cases the Airplain mode is on
    at the end I need to record my classes lectures for more then 60 minutes normally sometimes 160 minutes.

    If your Voice Memos are still unexpectedly not recording after some time, I would recommend quiitting the app itself first:
    iOS: Force an app to close
    Double-click the Home button.
    Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
    Swipe the app up to close it.
    When you have done that restart the device and test the issue again:
    iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting

    Preferences/Audio Set Recording Delay to 0 <zero>
    This should always be set to zero unless a specific set of circumstances exist and you're audio drivers do not report position correctly.
    On occasion, usually when importing a Logic 9 project, Logic-X randomly changes this to a negative/positive number.  It's actually a bug in Logic, as it should always display the waveform.

    Do you have auto drop enabled? Look for a red bar at the top where the green cycle bar is. It will punch you out at the end of the red bar.

    OK I would record a long video, about 20 minutes to be approximate. In the middle of my recording, my iPod tells me my battery is low - I have 20% of battery left. But when the message shows up, it stops recording my video and shows a closed lens on the camera!!!
    Then I have to force close the app then restart it. Then I have to make a second video. Is there anyway to tell the iPod Touch low battery warning to shut the f**k up and stop interrupting and stopping my recordings? It is VERY annoying. Please reply soon.

    Not that I know of. The 20% warning is like the low fuel light on your car's gas tank, it doesn't know when you'll run out of gas only that it's soon. The reason it stops what your doing is to protect the battery. Completely discharging the battery is very bad for the battery and shortens the life of the battery. Hope this helps, Good luck.

  • Photo Booth has stopped recording Videos all of a sudden??

    Hi all,
    on my iMac only 6 months old, all of a sudden after working fine Photo Booth today has decided to stop recording videos.
    The app launches, green light comes on and the picture/video shows, i press record and it counts down but the counter doesnt move although the picture is still there.
    Press stop and it loads a black screen and plonks it in the library thing at the bottom of the picture..  Very odd.
    I have trashed the Preferences and this does nothing,
    Have deleted the other videos so its not a space issue?
    Wondering if anyone else has the same thing???

    This is a very common problem.  Some are beacuse of the quality of media, some are because of the speed the media is burnt, some are because the drive gets dirty just where DVDs are concerned, and some are because of computer age.  The last problem is common if the machine gets more than 4 years old, the PRAM battery needs replacing, and all sorts of settings start malfunctioning, until lastly the system clock no longer works and it might not boot.  The others, see my FAQ*:
