DW 8 Crashing on updating the site cache

This is a site that I've been working on, on and off, for a
year or more and suddenly in the past week or so DW has been
hanging whenever I try and load this site. It seems to do it when
updating the site cache. It doesn't crash exactly, but will hang on
the splash screen, and won't advance beyond that point. I've
reinstalled DW, removed all extensions, deleted the Configuration
folder, but it keeps coming back. I've discovered that if I copy
all the files in that folder somewhere else, load the site, and
then copy them all back, it will load; but obviously this isn't a
workable solution. I don't know WHICH file is causing it to hang;
I've tried removing only the file that it seems to hang on, but
then it hangs on a different one (and so on).
Any suggestions on how to resolve this?

Iphoto updating the thumbnail cache

I recently installed ilife 06 and I had just moved all my photos over to my recently purchased power mac, and when I opened up iphoto it said it needed to update the thumbnail cache or something like that. Now when I open a photo even outside of iphoto all the images are much smaller in pixel size. Before I did the cache update the photos were very clear in full screen now they are blury. Also I used to have raw images before the update and now they aren't marked as raw anymore. Is it possible to change this or are the images going to be stuck small? Also i do have a power book g4 with the same photos on it and it never asked to update the cache.

I copied the files over the network from the iphoto folder on my old computer.
The correct way to do that is to copy the entire iPhoto Library Folder as a unit to the new machine, then let iPhoto update it.
Have a look inside your iPhoto Library Folder - in there you should have three main folders
Originals are the photos as they were downloaded from your camera or scanner.
(ii) Modified contains edited pics, shots that you have cropped, rotated or changed in any way.
(iii) Data holds the thumbnails the the app needs to show you the photos in the iPhoto Window.
Check inside the Originals folder. You'll find it contains Roll Folders and your pics should be inside them Try open some with Preview - are they full sized pics? What file sizes are reported in the Finder?

Getting "Stop updating the site?" message after DWT change

Made a change to a template and as expected got a message asking if I want to update all pages with the template. Repond "yes" and get the Update Pages status window with the buttons "stop", "close" and "help". "Help" does nothing, "stop" stops the update and "close" displays the message "Stop updating the site?" (yes/no)
If I hit no DW goes back to the previous message (update pages). If yes, it appears that not all pages that use the template are updated.

Thanks. What appears to have happened was the update was taking much longer than I had ever seen in the past.
I ran it again (made a small change in the template) and waited a bit. It then displayed "done". All the pages seemed to be updated.
Not sure why it's running longer but I'll be patient in the future.

I've just started using the App Tabs. I think this feature could be handy but why are the sites not updated when I start Firefox. Now I have to manually update the site which is somewhat of a downer. Does any of you know where I'm going wrong?

To answer the post title FireFox save all downloads automatically in the download folder, which you can find in the Documents folder. If you want to choose where to save your downloads go to tools>options>check always ask me where to save files.
Secondly, I am assuming you have IE 8 installed as this is the only version that supports this fix that is currently not in beta. Go to control panel>internet options>advanced tab and reset the settings at the bottom. This may or may not fix the problem but it is a good first step.

"busy updating the site" message: something wrong with comp. or real update

I bought a nano yesterday and I never had iTunes before...yesterday night i wanted to download iTunes and there was a message: "We are busy updating the site, please check back in an hour or so...." at http://www.apple.com/ca/itunes/download/ and at http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
The message is still there. Is it just me or is there anything wrong with my computer? I went to the Apple software update program and am downloading iTunes version 7.4.3. Is that alright? will I be able to use it? Or should I wait for apple to finish updating their site (assuming my computer is fine)?

I am getting this too and since the message sounded odd and I wondered WHY they would do this on a Friday afternoon, I checked using another PC, and guess what - one PC has that message and the other one doesn't. I therefore suspect some malware is actually redirecting us to another page entirely. I do not think this is an Itunes problem at all. I was able to download and install witht he other PC jsut fine. I'll check back here - please post if you get any mroe info and I will too.

HELP!!! iTunes 7.1 upgrade for MAC its crashing before updating the library

I can't open iTunes after the update to 7.1, when I launch iTunes, it starts updating the iTunes library and before the progress bar is finished quits. I tried everything with no luck. Something is very wrong with the new version of iTunes 7.1 for Mac's I have used iTunes since the first version and I never had an issue with it, until today.
I can not access iTunes, any one has any suggestions? I've run out of ideas. I also did a reinstall of iTunes 7.1 to no avail.

Hi all,
Just wondering when Adobe will be updating the Flash Lite
Exchange and the list of flash lite 2 phones on the player purchase
page?
I have sent an application a few weeks ago to be included in
the exchange but its not been updated in ages....
Anyone from Adobe able to give us an idea on when things will

I am getting this too and since the message sounded odd and I wondered WHY they would do this on a Friday afternoon, I checked using another PC, and guess what - one PC has that message and the other one doesn't. I therefore suspect some malware is actually redirecting us to another page entirely. I do not think this is an Itunes problem at all. I was able to download and install witht he other PC jsut fine. How to update the windows cached password after SSPR?

Scenario: Windows 7 remote user forgets the cached password for her laptop and uses FIM 2010 R2's Reset Password invoked from the login screen. The domain password change is successful, but the user still cannot login to the laptop as the
cached password has not been updated.
Question: How to update the cached windows logon password after SSPR to allow user to login with the new password.

Once I publish my site with a web hosting site can I still edit and update the site in Muse? Can I add and delete pages to the site?

Very confused about publishing the Muse site. It sound like I won't be able to edit a lot of it once it is published. I need to be able to add and delete pages and edit the content on existing pages over time. It is saying that the temporary version of the site will delete after 30 days. Am I misunderstanding?

It sounds like you didn't upload the css files folder that Muse generates. There is also scripts file, assets file/images file that Muse generates

Updated a page and now the "Publish Site" stays gray and can't update the site. What's up?

Try making a minor change to that same page, like moving an object a couple of pixels one way or the other, and see if the File ➙ Publish Site Changes menu option will work for you.

This is asked so often it really should be included in an FAQ. The secret is on your office Mac at Users/yourUserName/Library/Application Support/iWeb. There you'll find Domain.sites (extension hidden by default). Make a copy and move it to the same location on your home machine. When you launch iWeb you'll see everything you created in the office.

My MacBook crashed while updating the maverick system. When starting up now it has a screen with a folder with a ? And won't load up

Has anyone been able to startup properly after this? I have tried pressing "alt" when loading MacBook and clicked on the drive, it then comes up with a grey screen.

Hopefully your directory is the only thing damaged, or the PRAM battery/capacitor is young enough that resetting will fix it.

Dreamweaver 5.5 crashes on updating cache

I was going to upload my webpage to the server. Everything went ok untill Dreamweaver tried to update the site cache. Now it keeps on crashing, and I can't open the Dreamweaver without crashing on the startup. So I tried to find the most common problems, and tried to fix this thing. I'm using Windows 7 on my Acer computer. (desktop).
I've tried removing the corrupted cache file, restoring preferences, uninstalling and reinstalling Dreamweaver, checking my website for damaged files and restoring my operating system, but nothing helps. Everything that happens is that I get Dreamweaver to open properly, and then it crashes again on updating the site cache. And then I can't open the Dreamweaver at all. I have to empty the folder I was working on so I can get past the startup, but it doesn't remove the problem.
I have no clue what to do. I really need Dreamweaver for my schoolwork, but I can't find out what's the problem in here.
Any tips? Could somebody help me?

As I have never had the problem that you are describing, I can only make an assumption based upon the experience of others.

DW crashes when creating new site

I have tried to build a new site---it was done in Front Page
2003 originally. The "Updating the site cache" stops at 1252 every
time. I have deleted the file that it stopped at; and it stopped at
update 1252 again but with a different file name.
The error is ModName: msvcr80.dll

Crash when updating site cache? MM_Username1?

All of a sudden, tonight, DW8.0.2 will no longer open or load
one of my
sites, crashing when "Updating Site Cache". The site is ASP
linked to an SQL
database.
Checking the file that the cache gets to, I notice that the
problem file is
within a sub-directory of the site, called "/admin". Thing is
though, it's
not always the same file, but it IS always a file within the
/admin
sub-directory.
Within this sub-directory I altered, by hand, the Login User
code and
Restrict Access to Page code to create and use the session
variable
MM_Username1 as opposed to the default MM_Username.
Could this be the reason for the sudden trouble with the site
cache? I am
puzzled because the site was working fine for a few weeks
now, with this
sub-directory included, and I didn't create the MM_Username1
issue today
either, it has also been working fine for a good few weeks
now. I've also
not added anything new to the site, that I am aware of.
When I remove the sub-directory from the site, the Updating
Site Cache works
fine, so I am 100% sure there is a problem with the files
within this
sub-directory. How will I know which one though?
I've tried this, as recommended by Adobe, but I still get a

1. Try renaming the Dreamweaver user configuration folder, so

Dreamweaver will automatically generate a new user
configuration folder the
next time Dreamweaver launches. The Configuration folder is
located here:

Data\Macromedia\Dreamweaver
8\Configuration
2. Recreate your Dreamweaver user settings in the registry as
follows:
Launch the Registry Editor by clicking the Start button,
choose Run, then
type "regedit". In the Registry Editor, navigate to this
folder:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Macromedia\Dreamweaver 8
Rename the "Dreamweaver 8" key to "DreamweaverOLD", so that
Dreamweaver will
automatically generate a new user settings key the next time
you launch it.
3. Recreate your Dreamweaver site definitions in the registry
as follows.
The steps below will delete your site definitions in
Dreamweaver.

Found it! Jeesh.
I had a querystring value in my UPDATE redirect URL which was
coded
incorrectly!!!
I am frustrated that, rather than just highlighting the error
or, at the
very least, producing an error when opening the specific
file, this type of
thing crashed the entire DW programme.
The time I spent in Notepad today changing MM_Username1 back
to
MM_Username!! Turns out that was nothing to do with it.

Anyway, solved now. A misplaced ", %, ), (, <, >, &
etc can cause you no
