DW cc to DWcs6

I have uninstalled DW CC as I needed to use CS6. When I go to https://creative.adobe.com/products/dreamweaver and chose cs6, I can't I can't get cs6 to show up in the CC installation app...only CC shows up. HELP!

Legacy version installs must be initiated from the Creative Cloud web page, not the local CC App. Also run the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool, try again.

  • Where is the HTML5 Audio player in DWCS6 Cloud version?

    I just joined the subscription version of the Cloud and re-installed DWCS6 from there and don't see the new updates I've read about.  Like the HTML5 Audio player I read about.  Where the heck is it?  Thanks!  So far this I'm not sold on this Cloud thing and the terrible support I received by phone with Adobe.

    Well... it was a bit of a pain to be honest.  I had spoken to 3 different support agents who all had different information on what I needed to do to start using the Cloud.  So I became very confused on who was giving the right info.  When the account became active I went to update DW but it said I was up to date.  It was my 19 year old son who suggested I uninstall my previous version of DW and then download it and re-install from the Cloud.  I saved all my site logins first and noted which extentions I had.  Once I did that I was able to update to the latest version of DW which has the new HTLM5 Video and Audio plugins.
    I spoke to 6 different people yesterday while I was on the phone for nearly 2 hours and not one of them gave the right info.  And I'll try and make this sound right, but 5 of those people were from a foreign country.  While they were polite for the most part, they were very hard to understand and quite often would put me on hold for 5 minutes while they asked someone else for answers.  I found myself not trusting anything they said because each one had different answers.  I finally complained to a supervisor and stated that for the amount of money I've invested in their products over the last 13 years, it's crazy to have such unprofessional support.
    Sorry if I've ranted here but I feel it's part of the experience that I had that may help someone else as you mentioned.  Technically, trust your own intuitions or have someone with common sense around.
    In closing, I did have to uninstall the programs I had previous to the Cloud and then reinstalled them to get the Cloud versions. AND I had to reinstall all of my DW and FW extentions.  Thankfully all of my site logins for DW were still there.
    Now that I'm up and running it seems to be working fine.  But, not with much help from Adobe phone support.  They get a D minus.
    Thanks for listening and good luck all.

  • Desperate for DWCS6 [subject edited by moderator]

    I was able to download CS6 in 2012 for school.  My desk top computer broke and this is where my CS 6 was installed.  I have partially installed it on a another computer; however, at the time I downloaded this I did not include Dreamweaver.  I am in desperate need to add Dreamweaver to my CS6 suite.  The class I am taking now requires it and though I have Dreamweaver CC the computer that I had to install this on is a poor computer. I really need to be able to add this to my CS6 suite.

    You can get DWCS6 Perpetual License (non-cloud version) here to use with an old serial number if you have one:
    Download and Installation Help | Download and Installation Help
    or, if you never actually purchased DW and don't want to get the CC version that Nancy is pointing you to, you can still buy the perpetual license version (though it's now 4 versions away from "current") directly from Adobe here:

  • Can't style forms with CSS in DWCS6 / Need to add WYSIWYG menu

    Hello everyone,
    i put both my "problems" in a single topic:
    1) I was trying to add some style to my pages with forms in them, but it seems it doesn't work so well.... i explain: i create a php page, i insert a form with text fields (username and password, for example) and the "login" button. The form ID is "LogForm". I create a CSS class, called ".FormCSS" and inside i put the rule "align text: right". I apply the rule to the form and all the text inside goes to the right. I try online (real server and local server, i tried both) but nothing happens, the elements of the form stay on the left. I tried to apply the rul to the ID of the form. Nothing.
    Probably i'm doing something wrong. Even with text and tables inside the form, i can't move/modify them, at all. In design view i see all the changes, online i can't (chrome and IE). What do i have to do?
    2) I'm creating a page to insert long text in a database, like when you post in a forum. I'd like to insert a sort of toolbar with the align options, style, and so on, like the WYSIWYG editors. Is it possibile? Is there a way to put a toolbar like that in DWCS6?
    Thanks

  • After upgrade from DW8 to DWCS6, 2 problems: uploading/downloading (file structure?)

    Hi,
    I took a big leap and upgraded from DW8 to DWCS6. Also went from MAC G5 PPC to IMAC with Mavericks.
    I transferred my site files over and set up a new site in DWCS6, pointing to the site files. No problem.
    However, I have run across two problems since then.
    1. If I open a file on the local site on the computer, it does not see the images folder. I can navigate to it and re-associate the image, but it is not automatic. I did nothing to change the structure of the local site, except move it as a whole from one computer to another. If I add an additional ../ to the SRC, then it comes up. If I then upload that page, the link still exists correctly. I don't understand the problem at all...please help!
    2. When I want to upload a local file using the put command, I get an error message, something like it cannot create a certain folder in which the file exists. However, that file already exists on the remote end. I can drag the file over and then there is no problem.
    I believe I can see that the problem is the same with both uploading and downloading, but can't quite figure out how to fix it. Any ideas? I figure this is probably common, or at least, I hope it is!
    Thanks in advance,
    Linda

    Wow, thanks so much for the super-fast reply:
    I will attach three images showing what you asked for. When I went back to check I noticed that the local files actually do seem to link up the images...it is only when I bring them down (get them) from the remote site that there is a problem...I'm embarrassed to say that I don't remember it being this way earlier, but since I have done nothing to 'heal it' it might have been....only thing I did do was piece by piece link them up on the pages on which I was working.
    Anyway, here are the screenshots. If you need more, or if they are unclear, let me know.
    I really appreciate your help. If you write back and I do not answer immediately, it is only because I am out for a while.

  • Where can I find guidance on labeling files during a check in process using DWCS6 with Subversion?

    I am using DWCS6 with VisualSubversion server 2.1.9. I have been successful setting up the repository and checking in version 1.0 of my code. Now that it is time to modify code, I want to label my changes. I see the commit message box at the bottom of the CheckIn dialog. I use it for a description of the change (e.g. "Change picture of man with picture of woman.") which works for small changes or changes to one or two files but it is not practical for large change sets or complex changes. I'd like to create a label as well using a numeric versioning system.  I have not found where I can do that. Is the commit message the only option or is there a way to use labels?
    I appreciate your help with this.

  • What is the best picture slider to use with DWCS6?

    Hola
    what is the best HTML5, picture slider to use or that YOU  use with DWCS6?
    I use one, but I'm looking for something
    Easy to use
    HTML5
    Integrates easy with DWCS6
    Easy to use
    I'll been looking for this, but if anyone of you are using one that you like/love
    please, let me know,  I'll check it out.
    Thanks a lot
    Daniel

    A table used for layout also "validates" to HTML5 A widget such as
    Nivo Slider is comprised of markup, CSS, and JavaScript. Some more
    advanced sliders use HTML5 tags, such as canvas, built in the DOM, to
    provide functionality and refinement not possible with traditional
    DHTML, such as Nivo.
    None of this, however, has anything to do with HTML5 in the way it was
    presented.
    The original poster wanted to know if there was anything that integrates
    into Dreamweaver. I am totally bewildered that Adobe can clearly deduce
    that its market for Dreamweaver is designer-biased, yet the folks on
    this particular forum continuously recommend copy and paste free scripts.
    Dreamweaver would not be here, and you would not be here, if not for the
    core group of extension developers that worked to make it a popular
    program and a (formerly) thriving and resourceful community. If Nivo is
    a solution then it makes sense to recommend DMX Zone's Dreamweaver
    extension that integrates that functionality into Dreamweaver - as the
    original poster recommended.
    The answers typically given on this forum are, essentially,
    anti-Dreamweaver. It's really a shame that the Dreamweaver community has
    come to this. So, go ahead, folks, copy and paste that code into your
    $500 copy of Dreamweaver. I'll just keep scratching my head.

  • Code questions in DWCS6

    Hello, my CSS fiole passes 3C3 but my Template which had over 39 problems is now down to Four. I could use some help because I'm clueless to what they are saying.
    The following notes and warnings highlight missing or conflicting information which caused the validator to perform some guesswork prior to validation, or other things affecting the output below. If the guess or fallback is incorrect, it could make validation results entirely incoherent. It is highly recommended to check these potential issues, and, if necessary, fix them and re-validate the document.
    Info Using Direct Input mode: UTF-8 character encoding assumed
    Unlike the “by URI” and “by File Upload” modes, the “Direct Input” mode of the validator provides validated content in the form of characters pasted or typed in the validator's form field. This will automatically make the data UTF-8, and therefore the validator does not need to determine the character encoding of your document, and will ignore any charset information specified.
    If you notice a discrepancy in detected character encoding between the “Direct Input” mode and other validator modes, this is likely to be the reason. It is neither a bug in the validator, nor in your document.

    1......... I don't get what they are trying to tell me above about UTF-8

    Error Line 24, Column 8: required attribute "type" not specified
    <script>

    The attribute given above is required for an element that you've used, but you have omitted it. For instance, in most HTML and XHTML document types the "type" attribute is required on the "script" element and the "alt" attribute is required for the "img" element.
    Typical values for type are type="text/css" for <style> and type="text/javascript" for <script>.

    Most likely, you nested tags and closed them in the wrong order. For example <p><em>...</p> is not acceptable, as <em> must be closed before <p>. Acceptable nesting is: <p><em>...</em></p>
    Another possibility is that you used an element which requires a child element that you did not include. Hence the parent element is "not finished", not complete. For instance, in HTML the <head> element must contain a <title> child element, lists require appropriate list items (<ul> and <ol> require <li>; <dl> requires <dt> and <dd>), and so on.

    You have used the attribute named above in your document, but the document type you are using does not support that attribute for this element. This error is often caused by incorrect use of the "Strict" document type with a document that uses frames (e.g. you must use the "Transitional" document type to get the "target" attribute), or by using vendor proprietary extensions such as "marginheight" (this is usually fixed by using CSS to achieve the desired effect instead).
    This error may also result if the element itself is not supported in the document type you are using, as an undefined element will have no supported attributes; in this case, see the element-undefined error message for further information.
    How to fix: check the spelling and case of the element and attribute, (Remember XHTML is all lower-case) and/or check that they are both allowed in the chosen document type, and/or use CSS instead of this attribute. If you received this error when using the <embed> element to incorporate flash media in a Web page, see the FAQ item on valid flash.

  • My DWCS6 doesn't want to choose a root folder

    I follow the directions on the tutorial video, and click on New Site. I get a two-line dialog box that matches the one in the tutorial, and in the upper field I insert the name I want the new site to have. Then in the lower field--the path to my preferred root folder--I click on the browse icon which opens another dialog box with a folder tree. I find the folder I want to use, and click once on it. But wait. . .in the tutorial video there is a button marked "choose" on this dialog box. The dialog box on my screen looks markedly different, and the live button says "open" rather than "choose." And when I click on "open" or double click on the folder I want, it simply opens that folder, revealing an empty space and an error message saying "no items match your search." DW simply refuses to make that folder be the root folder for the new site. Why not? And how do I make it do so?
    I am using DW CS6 on a Dell desktop running Win 7 64-bit Home Premium.

  • How to add a splash screen in a DwCS6 PhoneGap for Android build?

    So I have the new Dw CS6 and want to see what great things DW can do in building Android Apps. So I follow the California Trails demo on Lynda.com. Build it in DreamWeaver, package it with Phonegap and it runs. However, there are some things I'm noticing that happen with this Phonegap that do not happen when I take the SAME files and place them in my Eclipse SDK and build the application under Eclipes.
    1) There is a 5 to 9 second delay where a black screen is displayed after the app is launched and when it actually displays the index.html. How do I stop this from happening?
    2) How do you add a splach screen? In Eclipes I would add the image to the drawables folders and modify my Activity.java file but we don't have these in DW.
    3) How do I get an external URL to display within my Phonegap App? In Eclipes I make the call to the URL while in a WebView but there isn't anything like that in Dw or Phonegap.
    4) How do I attach or reference my KeyStore file in these PhoneGap builds so I can put them on Google Play?
    Maybe I'm asking too much of Dw and PhoneGap? It this release not intended to create a fully functional app or is it just suppose create a Pseudo App that in reality is a HTML5 webpage made to look like an app? I'm not judging or being critical just trying to find out how or if this Dw feature can be interated in to my workflow.

    I assume that you want to show the splash page after every session is initiated after an authentication.
    Try this:
    Protect the app pages (/app1, /app2 etc) with the following authen scheme:
    Level:1
    Form:/login.html
    Action:/dummy1
    Passthrough:no
    In the authentication success of this one, have an action:
    Authentication success URL: /some_dummy_page.html
    Now, protect this url /some_dummy_page.html with the following:
    Level:2
    Form:/splash_page.html
    Action:/dummy2
    Passthrough:no
    When you access /app1 or /app2, then the first scheme will be invoked, login.html page will come. give your login and password, on successful authen, it will (try to) go to /some_dummy_page.html. but since this one is protected, it will show the splash_page.html. Click on ok, and it will POST to the /dummy2. Because the action in both the schemes are different, the obformlogin cookie will persist.
    You will need to have the action in the splash page to point to /dummy2.
    Hope this helps. Let us know.

  • To create a sort of "browse the pages" in a page with DWCS6: how?

    Hello all again,
    as usual i'm here with something that for me seems impossible and maybe it's super easy... i checked online but i couldn't find any answer. I start with a description of what i want to accomplish:
    - i have 1 database (mySQL) with a table called "Books", inside i have these fields: Title (VARCHAR 60), Author (VARCHAR 20), StoryText (LONGTEXT)
    - i have 1 page for me, where i insert with a form a book when i want to update the DB
    - i have 2 PHP pages, one that has links where the user chooses, for example, the name of a book and the other that gets that name from the URL and show the content (x chapters of the story, tale or whatever)
    - i'm the user and i click on the link "The Little Prince", the page loads and shows me the title, the author, the text of x chapters (let's say 4 chapters)
    - that text has to be "divided" in more than one page because it's too long for a single page, so i want to see something like:
    Example when you enter the page:
    The Little Prince
    Once upon a time......
    Page 1 | >> | Last page
    and example when you reach page 9:
    The Little Prince
    The little prince....
    First page | << | Page 9 | >> | Last page
    All of this has to be in a single page though, no links to somewhere else or so. It's not a page itself but it appears in a PHP page like a table, textarea and so on. The closer thing i can think about it's a photogallery, where you press left and right and shows the pics but here, instead of pics, there's text. And if possible, i wouldn't want to create a table in my database everytime i insert a new book. What i'd like it's something that "splits" the text i have in a field called "StoryText" (table "Books") and let the user browse the pages. If i have, for example, a book 1000 lines long, i want to make a page every 50 lines so i get 20 pages. Those 20 pages need to get a sort of recordset navigation bar but... not about a recordset, only about a text in that page.
    Resuming, what i need is:
    - a way to split long text in x pages (like the example, 1 page every 50 lines of text)
    - add a navigation bar or some sort of control to browse those pages
    Is it possible something like that? Thanks.

    The example below shows you how to split the article into pages using [PAGEBREAK] inserted into the database but it only gives you the option of NEXT | PREVIOUS
    Split article into multiple pages
    I'm positive you can do exactly what you require - it's a matter of finding and piecing the code together. Entering [PAGEBREAK] into the database isn't very practical either. I'd be looking for an example that extracted a certain number of words.

  • DWCS6 - can't edit in Code view {subject edited by moderator}

    In the split view or the design view, I can edit text anywhere on the page but when I click on the code side the text is grey and line number bar turns blue. Is there a way to turn the editing back on in the code view? Working on a PC with a document created on a mac.

    No, it won't let me edit in the code at all.
    Here's the code:

  • How Do I Configure My Workspace in DWCC To Be Like DWCS6?  File Panel Issue Here.

    I open a lot of files at one time to work on similar coding but when expanding the Files Panel, it moves left and gets into the way of the scroll bars.  I have to close Files to get access to the scroll bars.  I want the Files/Assets panels to remain open as a dropdown in the right handed Panel set like in CS6.  The pop-out Files panel gets into the way.  I just want it to remain open in the panels column.
    Anyone know how to do that?  I find I keep going back to CS6 because I can work faster without dealing with the pop-outs.
    Thanks!

    I'm not sure if this is what you mean, but...
    To move window/panels around in DW, you can click their name tab and drag them to new locations.
    When you drag them to the edges of the application window, the edge will highlight. When you release, the window will lock to that edge. You can also stack windows on other windows this way, by dragging to the edges of one window until it highlights, and releasing.
    If you drag them from an edge to the middle of the application frame and drop them, they become floating windows.

  • CSS HTML5 DWCS6 web template question

    I have a Responsive website template I am editing. There is only one issue I am having with the template. When I remove the background image because I don't need the quotes and view the site in mobile view in ADOBE DREAMWEAVER CS6, the text is thrown off and is squeezed towards the right of the screen in a very narrow and unreadable column instead of flowing to the left in a nice readable column.
    Original css with quotes:
    .block-left-2 {
    overflow:hidden;
    margin-left:250px;
    font-style:italic;
    padding-left:50px;
    background: url('../images/p-bg.png') no-repeat 0 2px;
    margin-top:-5px;
    My changed css without quotes:
    .block-left-2 {
    overflow:hidden;
    margin-left:250px;
    font-style:italic;
    padding-left:50px;
    background: none;
    margin-top:-5px;
    Can anyone tell me what do I need to change in the above css to make the text area that had the quotes (background :url image) removed flow normally when viewed through a mobile device just as it flows normally with the quotes (background url image)?
    Your help would be greatly appreciated. I love your templates, but if I cannot get any help for just this one thing, I will not be purchasing any more of these from your website.

    I'm not sure why changing a background attribute would do anything to the flow of text on your page, but...
    background:none;
    ...should be taken out completely. I don't think that's technically a usable attribute for the background shorthand property and may be why it's throwing off your text.
    If removing it completely doesn't fix the issue, something else has been changed in your css or html that is causing the problem.
    EDIT: Nevermind, I guess it is technically valid css, but still, it shouldn't have anything to do with your text and can be removed, since you want "no background" you can just leave it out all-together. There must be something else changed in your css or html causing your text to go squirrely.
    Any chance you could post a link?
    EDIT 2: Also keep in mind, this is a user to user forum for Adobe products and actual Adobe employees don't drop by very often. For the most part, it's just software users like yourself that are offering up the answers here.

  • I like my layout in DWCS6 (code top - design below) so how do I change my workspace in DWCC?

    I like the cloud option and many of the new features of DWCC but I do not use it often because I cannot find an easy way to configure my workspace to my liking.  The side by side format does not allow me to see the webpage as laid out on the web.  Either the code is squashed or the design is resized and div/apdiv areas overlap and do not give a fair rendering of the finished product.
    Anyone have any advice?  Reconfiguring a new product or release is frustrating.
    Thanks,
    Rick
