DW corrupt? "broken?" or crazy?

CS6 Design Premium, OS X.
Something seriously wrong with Dreamweaver on my Mac: it will not open files which I have created on dreamweaver.
I can do File>Open and show dreamweaver where the file is, but rather than display the file's code, the DW window "blips" for a second and returns to plain gray (no document open). I had my instructor at school repeat this; she is *much* more experienced with DW than I am, and she was baffled.
Mind, I am not even dealing with a site; simply .html and .php files which have been created by me on this computer using dreamweaver.
even re-installed DW the other night..installed the entire CS6 suite in fact, and freshly upgraded to Adobe's latest updaters for all CS6 apps in my suite.
no improvement.
any thoughts on how to get DW to behave itself? all the other CS6 apps I use act just fine.

Have you tried clearing the DW Cache file?

Even after a re-install, it can stay corrupted, unless you also run the cleaner tool.

Corrupted/broken Garageband Project - Help

I have a project that we recorded last Sunday. The pkg is 4.14 GB, has seven tracks, but when I open the project I only see GrandPiano (the default track) and nothing else and no audio there. (I should have said that we had to force GB to quit after a hang.) If I go into the pkg contents I find that the very first track will not open in anything. QT encounters an "end of file" and won't play it back. All the other tracks sound ok. So two questions: 1. Any way of repairing the munged .aiff file? 2. Any thoughts on how to get GB to display the tracks that are there? i.e. repair the project per se?

Corrupt/Broken Dictionary Fields in CPSC 10

I do not seem to have access to the Cisco IAC forum so I have posted this here as the issue is occuring in CPSC.
As part of the installation of Cisco IAC 4.0 I had deployed the services into CPSC 10 with patch 1 applied, this was a fresh install of CPSC on Server 2008.
I had noticed issues where the NS XML was blank or not fully populated in ServiceLink when trying to configure the CPO platform through the 'Connect Cloud Infrastructure' service as part of the steps in the configuration wizard. Upon looking into the service and it's dictionary fields I encountered the error below:

I had then tried the CPSC Virtual Appliance with these services already pre-deployed and encountered the exact same issues, has anyone else encountered this issue?
I guess the question here is, is this issue related to the IAC content and deployment packages, or is this related to CPSC itself.

Thanks for the response, oddly enough it does seem to work in IE8, what's weird though is that it's only this one service that throws the exception in FF, all the rest of the services can still be edited and view through service designer in FF.
I tried submitting the order though (In IE and FF) and the issue on the backend still seems to be there, the nsXML still seems to have data missing (see screenshot) when there should be a lot of form data coming through, upon submission of the service I also receive the error in the log message shown below, it almost seems like there is an error in building up the submitted form data when trying to create the nsXML.
Again I'm not sure if this actually an issue with CPSC itself, or perhaps the packages that are shipped with CIAC 4.0, it seems a bit odd that no one else has experience this error though as this happens with vanilla CIAC 4.0 CPSC virtual appliance as well as our own build of CPSC.

Broken Vidget?

Hello, looking for assistance from someone with experience in this area please;
I am trying to use a check box widget:
1. I create the check box widget, Add the text.. choose a variable name as below.
2. I create the variable for the widget, (below)
3. I then create my conditional action, (below)
4. Then I create the button, assign the advanced action to use the conditional action on click;
And all should work when "miss" is selected right? WRONG !
Basically as near as I can figure the "vidget" (hee hee) doesnt send the selected option in the checkbox to the to the true value in the conditional action. All selections return the ELSE value. Seems like its broken OR what have I done wrong? Same procedures worked with everything else in this project so why not here?
ADDITIONAL:
THIS PROCEDURE WORKS JUST FINE (works as its supposed to) IF I USE A RADIO BUTTON WIDGET (just tried it) - So I believe this vidget is corrupted/broken/bugged out !

I know, there is never help for the widgets or interactions (you inserted an interaction, widget still exists but only for SWF output). In the past I have been blogging about some widgets, to provide help.
You have to know, that contrary to the radiobuttons widget, you need to create a user variable for each check box!! It is not possible to have one variable for different check boxes. If you want to allow only one choice, use the radiobuttons interaction (or the widget), where you need only one variable. In that case your action (cannot see the Else part) should work.
Widget works fine, no bug, not broken. It is just that you didn't understand HOW it works.

M4a file got corrupted

I did a voice recording and downloaded it on my laptop. Naively, I deleted the audio files from my Phone (Galaxy S4). 3 out of 4 audios were working fine but one of them got corrupted/broken. I can't play it with anything.
I started looking around online and found http://mp4repair.org/ which showed that the file can be repaired. I uploaded and heard it for sometime and things looked fine. The problem is that it is asking for 90$
I then looked at some discussion at appleinsider http://forums.appleinsider.com/t/81014/need-help-fixing-an-audio-file
The guy suggested to work with the Hexfiend. Though I can see the data is intact on the audio file, I can't get it back after numerous tries.
Any kind of help is welcome.

I have a Kindle Fire HD's Tablet. (afiliated with Andriod Tablet). Does anyone know of any wirelsss HP AIO Printers that are compatible with it?
I just realized that my perfectly best printer that I every had is now broken. Crazy thing that happened. I had a HP AIO printer for approx 2-3yrs. And it also let me put the paper in the front and it came out the same way too.I would really like that again too.

QuickTime 7.6 upgrade for Tiger breaks system

Download does not work

I am trying to download cs6 production premium, but when i try to download on akamai the download "finishes" the first part of the download, and then restarts the entire download, over and over again. Also, when i try the alternative download some of the files are not extracted when i run the .exe that is supposed to extract the .7z file. When i try to extract the .7z file myself (attempted with both winrar and 7zip, it gives me a message that says some of the files are corrupt/broken. I've tried restarting my computer, changing permissions on the computer, and any other suggestion given on the help page, and I also searched the forums to see if i could find a solution. I have also recieved the message that i may not have enough memory on my computer, but i have over 500 gigabytes of free memory.

I tried both explorer and chrome with the same result, but when i tried firefox, when part one finished the download stopped and said it had an error of "Content validation error(invalid content)" and the alternate download still did not work. I looked at the akamai netsession interface console and it says that the data for part two of the download (the .exe file) is "unavailable", but the part one downloaded to 100%

Authentication Failure (Password Mismatch)

Hi there.
I am having a nightmare trying to get my web server working under Snow Leopard. To cut a long story short the server died and I had to restore it using a disk image before I migrate it to a new mavericks server. For obvious reasons I'd like to get everything working before I migrate.
Whenever a users tries to access a secure page (mainly for svn access) they get rejected. If I try to access the page via safari/chrome I get a pop up window asking for a username and password. If the user enters their correct name and password it is constantly rejected (the name and password work elsewhere for email etc).
In the logs on the server I get:

I am also having issues with iCal Server and AFP which makes me think there is some authorisation service which is corrupt/broken?

Ok something I have worked out by a bit of trial and error.
NEVER run a server with two HDDs both with clones/installs of Mac OS.
My server had the internal (faulty HDD) with the original server install called Macintosh HD. The clone was on a USB drive called SnowLeopardServer_Backup.
Now for the most part the server worked (because most stuff uses Unix and proper paths). However it looks like all of apples stuff (Web services, iCal server and AFP) use the full path or at least components of them do. So because the server was originally set up on an HDD called Macintosh HD I can only suspect that it was freaking out by 1) now being on an HDD called something else and 2) that there was another HDD there called Macintosh HD.
I have now renamed my old HDD to something else and renamed all the OS folders in it to something different too. I also renamed the clone drive to Macintosh HD.
So far I turned on Web services and AFP and they work perfectly I have not turned on iCal yet as I want to ensure each service is working before turning on another.
Also finally got the holy grail of Kerberos and Open Directory triangle working. I though that the iCal/Web/AFP not working with accounts was Open Directory related so I backed it up (and WGM), change to standalone and then tried to go back to a Master. It complained about the DNS not being set up and I finally found a post saying that you need to have your DNS set to point at 127.0.0.1 in the System Preferences > Network settings. I changed that and boom no more complaints about bad DNS

IPhoto Importing Issues

Every time I try to import photos from my sd card through iPhoto, the imported photos are corrupt (blank, lines, crazy colors). I can copy the photos direct from the sd card and import through Image Capture. I've tried rebuilding the library, creating a new one. I've tried importing the photos after they've been added to the computer through another method. I've been able to load the photos on to other computers and sites. I'm using OS X Yosemite Version 10.10.2 and iPhoto version 9.6. How can I resolve?

Lots of folks have reported issues with Raw on 10.10. Have you applied the latest camera raw update? That's fixed it for some folks. Others have revert to an earlier version using the method mentioned in this thread:

QT Pro WinXP - key is not working

I just bought an upgrade to QT Pro WinXP but the key is not working. I have search Apple's site and find no way to get help from Apple. Anyone got a clue? (Yes, I have used the right license key, yes I have the right version 7.1)

Converting 8mm tape - please read for detailed question

Hi everyone - A few months back the Apple forums helped me convert old tapes to iMovie using my Canon camcorder as a pass-through, converting the tapes from AV-DV. (These were tapes that fit into a VHS adapter, so I plugged my VCR into my camcorder, then into my iMac and used iMovie for the project).
I'm now faced with a similar project, only this time, the tapes are 8mm tapes. I went out and bought an 8mm player (not camcorder), a Sony EVO-511 NTSC. I've checked the machine by using regular cable wire and plugged it into my tv and it works great. However, when I plug the Sony machine into my camcorder (Canon) and use it as a pass-through, it's not recognizing it so iMovie has no 'import' button (it usually becomes 'available' once it recognizes something's plugged in).
Since the set up would seem identical for the VHS conversion as for the 8mm machine, any ideas on what I can do differently? I even purchased an adapter that has a cable male on one end and an rca female on the other, so I can plug the cable wire directly into my camcorder. Any help is GREATLY appreciated - even if it's to steer me to another forum.

I have a couple of thoughts. First, is there a tape in the camcorder that might prevent the pass-through?
Second, can you PUT a DV tape in the camcorder and record from the Sony 8mm to it? If so, you could copy all the 8mm tapes to miniDV tapes and then import those into iMovie. I did it this way for all my VHS tapes because I wanted to have them 'digitized' as originals to save.
I also export all my created iMovies back to my camcorder onto DV tapes and save those. You never know if DVDs will become lost, corrupted, broken, etc and I want to have double backups of my movies

Windows xp doesnt display I-touch as a device

I used to own a 60gb video Ipod. I loved it for the fact i use to drag n drop all my pictures, files , software and window programs just in case my Pc Died or corrupted by some crazy virus that holds files HOSTAGE..some of u out there have prolly gone through this..I have and the Ipod was great in putting back those files.....I do use i-tunes for adding new pics , music and photos but I cant put files or programs like I used to.. Why u ask? I used to drag n drop files from MY COMPUTER and seeing the IPOD with a letter drive next to it...and dropping the files.....easy as pie but now with the New I-touch 8gb I just got. I can only put files via I-tunes.....My computer doesnt see the Itouch as a letter drive anymore...is there a fix for this?

Apple has taken out the ability for the iPod touch to be used as a storage medium, other than an iPod.

Using Address Book as a Rock-solid business database?

My address book loses entire GROUPS.
MY wife and I sync Address Book of our business and personal contacts via MobilMe across our two Mac Desktops, our 2 Macbook pros, our iphones and an ipad. Somehow the Address Book data gets corrupted enough so that groups disappear every few months. It's very frustrating. We'll fix it and a few months later it happens again.
Address Book is the preferred database for our business contacts because of how easy syncing is and how it's so easily built within OSX. But the corruption drives us crazy. If you use Address Book for business are you NOT having this problem? Please only answer if you've been using it for a while. If I just started with address book I wouldn't have seen the problem.
We often fix it, then upload the fixed Address Book data to Mobil Me and then make sure it replaces all our data on the computers, iphones and iPad.
Is Bento an answer? Bento syncs with Address Book which is GOOD because I want access to the database everywhere. And it's BAD because this will probably happen again as Address Book syncs across the various devices.
For business contacts, what do you use so that it's more rock solid with your data? Thanks in advance.

Printer Drivers Disappeared

Does anyone have any idea why my printer drivers just up and disappeared. The Printer set-up utility can't find them. A search can't find them. I didn't delete them... I don't even know where they are (or were?).

Reloading can be a scary concept until you consider the alternative which is to not be able to use your system at all. I believe that your system has links/files that are corrupted/broken that have taken down your ability to print. It seems that everything is there but just not connected which makes me wonder what else is wrong.
As to reinstalling it is a no brainer if you are backed up. EVERYONE should have a cloned system as a minimal back up. Consider that your main hard drive will fail sooner or later and will leave you with few alternatives.
You can back up your user files to cd/dvd which is good but still leaves you with days of reloading and re installing systems and applications if your hard drive fails.
The best way to keep going without a hitch is to have a hard drive with a clone or two on it. You can test solutions to problems on a clone. If it does not work then trash the clone and reclone. You can start your mac off a clone if your main drive fails and keep working. If you have never had a drive fail or an upgrade that trashes your system then you don't see the benefits of cloning/backing up. The day a serious problem occurs then you will realize what I am talking about.
If I was suggesting that you archive and install without any back up then, yes, it would be scary. If you are fully backed up then there is no risk. The only way that I know of to be Fully backed up is to clone. It requires an external hard drive for a laptop but you should have one anyway. I believe that your ppd exists but is not where I told you to look.
Click on the desktop and do a "command f" to bring up the find/sherlock window. You are going to look for CUPS but first have to expand the search to look for invisible files (use the + sign in blue) and add the visibility is....
Put CUPS into the file name field and with visibility set to invisible you are ready to search. You should get a lising of files that have cups and are invisible. One has the parent folder of Share. Double click on that folder.
You are going to look to the following path:
/share/CUPS/model/C/the model of the printers that you are looking for.
In your case it will be escp2-750.ppd.gz (which stands for Epson Stylus Color Printer). If you find it then your library has the printer description but the connection to it has been corrupted. The question is now what else is messed up and waiting to take down your system to the point that it cannot be used.
I would get the backup drive big enough for 2 clones of your hard drive, partition it in half. Clone twice and practice on the clone. If you trash the clone you still have 2 copies of your system. You can always trash a clone, reclone, and work on it till you get it right. If my suspicions are correct, some future update of your system will make it unusable because of what has brought you to the Apple forums in the first place. You are sitting on a ticking data bomb. At this point you have a chance to fully prevent any loss of data and use of your computer.
