DW CS3 Removing Tags

Hello....
I have just started using php and have found when i paste php
code into my dreamweaver page ie. home.php and it looks fine but
when I upload this page to server well -- some of the code is
removed -- ????
Can anyone help on this?

upload it, it will
be there after you upload it. Can you be more specific about
what's
missing?

How to remove tag using filter

I want to use a filter to remove tags already on emails. I can add tags using a filter but cannot see how to remove tag using filter.

The FiltaQuilla add-on provides a "remove tag" option.

But, out of interest, what's the use case for removing tags by filter? Tags are normally used to facilitate or prompt human intervention and I don't immediately see the value of clearing a tag in a filter. Why tag if a filter will be dealing with it anyway?

I love the idea of the tags, however there comes a point when some become irrelevant. How can I remove them. I highlighting them in the dialogue box and hitting the delete key, that does not work. ?

I accidentally found that you can remove some tags while in the Sidebar view by just draggng them to the trash.
But after a certain point when you have drug all of tags in the list, you are then left with the "All Tags" button. When you click on that final button, you find that all of the tags you have ever created are still there in the All Tags category. So I guess what I do is just not create any new tags because the list just becomes too long to be useable. I liked the idea of Tags as a management tool, but like so many times before I will just go back to the file name workarounds that I have been using since 1988. They work because they were developed and tested by an actual user, me. Just toss a project number into the file name. Works every time, unlike the undocumented "features" that are apparently not tested.
But, if what I hear is true that Apple does not monitor these discussions, what was the point of writing this.
Would like to think they would look at these "discussions" as a resource, but.......

Having problems removing tags from script.

I'm not using the browser to run Adobe Story, but the Desktop version from my iMac. Cmd + Double Click works, but once every 30 times. Is anyone else having this problem removing tags from a script?

There are other ways to remove tags from a script
From Tagging Panel:
- Open Tagging Panel from View Menu
- Click on Edit button. Here you have the option to delete individual tag-items or remove all from the scene.
From File Menu
- Open File - Tagging menu
Here you will find the options to delete all/manually added/automatically added tags.

CS3 Removing Slashes In Code...

We use custom tags in our ASP pages such as:

</_content>
But when I open the page in CS3 it removes the slash and
appears as follows:

Anybody know why this is happening or how it can be fixed?

How to remove tags from a folder

I have reset my tags, but I still have a few folders that will not allow me to remove the colour tag. On other folders I simply clicked the X in the coloured dot to remove the tag, but a few the opition is greyed out. I also tried checking and unchecking the tag colours in the Finder>Preferences menu.
These folders that seem to be affected at the ones I had originally tagged with the old system where it highlighted the whole text.

I solved my own problem.
The "Blue" tag was a duplicate tag from the old system. So I had two blue dots with different labels. To fix it I right clicked on the old blue dot in the left side bar of finder and deleted it. I did this for all of the duplicate coloured tags.

CS3 Removing effect from one object changes all other images on page-!???

I'm reusing an 80 page document that I created last year as the template for an updated version of the same document. There are images on almost every page. In the previous version of the document most images had a drop shadow applied, but this year I'm not using drop shadows so I've been deleting old photos or placing new images in old photo boxes and removing the drop shadow. No problem most of the time, but there are about 5 images in the document (scattered around randomly) that are problematic - when I either delete these or try to remove the drop shadow effect, all the other images on the page get darker (a lot darker). It's not specifically the drop shadow causing the problem - I can change the effect to any other with no change to the problem, it's just when I remove or clear all effects that the problem occurs. I even tried creating a new spread then cutting and pasting all but the problem image but it didn't work - everything was dark till I added the problem image. So weird and confounding! I've never seen this in either CS3, which I've been using for a few years, or any previous version of InDesign. The only workaround I've found is to move the problem images onto the pasteboard and keep them, but I'd rather not send the document to the printer like that. Has anyone seen this problem??? Hmm, the only thing I can think of is that I'm still using CS3 yet I upgraded my Mac OS to Snow Leapard (10.6.4). In fact, this isn't the only problem I've had with my CS3 Suite programs since I got my newer Mac. Maybe I just answered my own question, sort of. Still, has anyone seen that InDesign problem?

Thanks Peter! You're right about the problem images being the only ones on their pages. They are all grayscale though. Rob mentions that possibility. I Sounds from both your answers like the problem is probably with the transparency blend space. Unfortunately (or fortunately?), I've never had to set the blend space. My printers have always handled that part. I hope I can ask you this newbie question -- if all the images are grayscale what should the transparency blend space be? I assume it should be in CMYK since the doc will be printed offset and the printer will have the native files not a PDF. The doc's transparency blend space is set to CMYK. Rob seems to think this could be the problem but the only choices are RGB or CMYK as far as I can tell.

Remove tags from XML using transformation

Can anybody tell me how to remove empty tags using xsl transformation.

You need to add the xsi:nil="true" attribute to your xsl-construct to be able to ommit the xml-element which are empty.
To be able to do this you need to add a choose-when-otherwise xsl construct inside your mapping file to test for ""-values.
The xsi:nill='true' isn't supported in the transform-activity yet, you need to add this attribute manually inside your xsl-mapping file.

Remove Tag Contents In Dreamweaver?

I have a XML file that has about 40 lines of code. Some of the tags have content inside and some are empty. I want to create a XML template out of this file for future use where I can easily insert the desired text into the empty fields.
I need a command in Dreamweaver that I can use line by line to remove the content inside each set of tags, but leaving the tags themselves intact (so I can insert text into in the future).
What command in Dreamweaver CS4 will easily clear these fields while preserving the tags themselves?

No, it's not. As I've said before, Dreamweaver cannot search and replace by line number.
What it can do is search for patterns. If you want to remove the values from the <version>, <duration>, and <titleNum> elements, you can do so with the following regular expression in the Find and Replace dialog box:
Search: Source Code
Find: (<(version|duration|titleNum)>)[^<]*(<\/\2>)
Replace with: $1$3
Make sure the "Use regular expression" check box is selected, and click Replace All.
That will leave the tags, but remove the text from between them.
If you want to remove the tags as well, just leave the "Replace with" field blank.
However, and this is where it becomes difficult to provide the answer you need, the regular expression I have created won't remove the value from <movieReleaseYear>.
Are you looking to remove all values or just some?
Since it's XML, and you can predict the line numbers, you must be able to predict the names of the elements you want to clear. Or are the element names going to be different?

Removing tags on selection

I think I've read all the topics about this "subject" but I still did not found a solution with it, so I'll tell my problem and hopefully you have a solution for me ;-)
I am writing a WYSIWYG editor and it is possible to switch from HTML to Plain (source code view). When a user selects some text and give that selection the element H1 and the text was a div class like:
<div class="redtext">This is my text</div>
I would like to get:
<h1>This is my text</h1>
Another problem is, when someone made a sentence h1 and later on he discover that he would like to have a h3 tag instead, the h1 tag still exists and I would like to remove that too.
I have already a function from this forum that removes the tags from a string but I do not know how to get the source from the HTML textpane. If I select "This is my text" in the HTML textpane the getSelectedText() returns (logically) "This is my text" I would like to get the HTML source from it! :-) thus like: <div class="redtext">This is my text</div>
Is there someone who can help me with this?
I hope I made myself clear, and if I did not ask me for further details...

The problem is that I only have to remove the tags from the selected text. When I use the function getSelectedText() I only get the text, and not the text including his h tags.
And I do not know how to get the source from the selection.. I only can get the whole source with the getText() function...

CS3-- Optional Tag Attribute problem

The pages to my site have already been created from a template. I need to add a frame redirect to the body tag on one page. So I added an editable attribute to the body tag in the template [attribute: ONLOAD, Label: onload, Type: text, Default: Frameredirect();] For some reason, when I try to edit the tag on the pages [Modify --> Template Properties] the dialog box says "No template properties available". I can see the frameredirect in the code. How come I can't edit it? Thanks

After I designed the site, my client changed all of the pages accept the home page. Those other 8 child pages look the same. I am new at this, however, so I refer to the Dreamweaver CS3 Missing Manual a lot. It made sense to me to go with a nested template.

Remove tag item from xml

Hi there,
Iu2019ve created a program to generate a xml file, using SDIXML_DATA_TO_DOM function. However it seems that is not working correctly because it generates an extra tag, that is called ITEM, whenever there is a table. However, every program example's that use that function, also generates that tag. Is it possible, somehow, remove it?

Here, <ITEM></ITEM> is being used to clearly separate <TYPE> and <NUMBER> by grouping them...<DOCID> is the main parent tag, so you can't have what you want...You should generate separate XML files for each group...Like...

DW CS3 Remove editable regions

Hi
How does one go about removing an editable region in DW CS3?

Thanks David...it was rather a simple issue but for whatever reason my mind wasn't working and this had me stumped.
I have another template based question on the forum, once I get past this last issue, I think my troubles will be behind me. If you have time, please have a look.

hoe do I remove a given tag in a file?

There are a number of ways. 1 is to select the item in the Finder and then Get Info (right click to see a menu of options or look under the File menu for Get Info). There is a comment box where the tags go. Click inside and backspace over the tags.
I use tags a lot so I added a tag icon to my Finder window. Open a window, right click somewhere on the grey command box of the window and select Customize Toolbar. Select the Edit Tags item and drag it onto the command bar. (While you are there are there others you'd like added?) Now you can easily select the item and then click on the Tag Editor to add a tag, delete a tag etc

I would like to start over with tags in one of catalogues. It contains a lot of pics. Is there an easy way to remove all the tags I have applied or do I have to treat each pic indivually?

Not each pic individually, but each tag individually. Right click on the tag and choose 'delete'. That will delete the tag and its appearance in all the pictures tagged with it. Note that the deletion is just in the catalog. If you have written metadata to files, the tags will stay in the metadata section of the picture files.
