DW CS5 / Mac OSX 10.9

I have DW CS5 (11.0.0) on a desktop iMac and a MacBook Pro (Both OSX10.9.2).
On the laptop, when it opens by selecting a file or by selecting the Application, I get only DREAMWEAVER in the top bar; nothing else from Dreamweaver, nor can I open any files:
On the iMac, DW opens and opens files, but only gives me a little tiny window that can't be expanded:
I have tried the Java download that I've seen recommended, with no change. (I'm pretty sure I already had it.)
No problems with Photoshop CS5 or Illustrator CS5

Can't load tpl brush presets (CS5, Mac OSX 10.5)

Hi all,
I'm using Photshop CS5.1 on my Mac (OSX 10.5.8) and don't seem to be able to load tpl files.
I put the file in Photoshop's "presets -> tools" folder and tried to open it via the brush presets picker. When I browse for the file, only ABR files are shown, TPLs are greyed out.
Any idea why this could be and what I could do to make the preset work?

Open them in the tool presets picker, the preset manager, double click them, or drag them to the application icon.

CS5, Mac OSX 10.6.4 Synchronizing styles in book

I can't seem to synchronize styles from a style source in an InDesign book in CS5. Is it me?

But wait... I'm an idiot... It looks like I just had neglected to "redefine styles" in my style source document. Sorry about that, and thanks for the help-- it seems to be working now!

"activeDocument.saveAs" does not work! -- Error 8800 | PS CS5 | Mac OSX 10.5.8

Error 8800: General Photoshop error occurred. This functionality may not be available in this version of Photoshop.
I even tried to copy the Script from the scripting Guide.

The reason the original script did not work is new File( "/Temp001.jpeg" ) is not a valid file path. The path must be the full URL not a releative one.
The reason the second script saves to the folder where Photoshop is installed is because path is a reserved word in Photoshop. Even is you assign something else to path like var path = app.activeDocument.path, it will still point to the app path. name is another reserved word. It will always return 'Adove Photoshop'.
Better to do something like this.
var docPath = app.activeDocument.path;
var jpgFile = new File( docPath + "/Temp001.jpeg" );

Mac OSX/CS5; Won't print

CS5/Mac OSX: Will not print on Canon d420 or Epson 1400. - other applications (Office) work fine. Adobe soft ware does not recognize printer connection. Nothing seems to work

Which Adobe software specifically are you referring too? Also what version of Mac OS are you currently using?

To elaborate a bit, you may come across offers of a new/unopened/unregistered version, which is the simplest case (you would need a guarantee). Other cases require much detailed information (and a guarantee).
If upgrading to 10.6.8 or higher is an option, you could use CS6.

Yes, the Old Master file has a folder for each year where I find all photos from that specific year. I am attaching a screen shot of the file.
In the meantime i have managed to download all photos (it did not download any video files though in mpg, avi, 3gp, m4v,mp4 and mov format) to a new iphoto library. Unfortunately the photos are quite mixed and often doubled up. I ma considering to purchase iphoto library which checks all duplicates in iphoto. this will save me a lot of time. What do you think?

Illustrator CS5 Instalation Problem on Mac OSX 10.5.8

I have tried instaling this software multiple times and am getting errors in the program that reinstalling doesn't seem to fix.
Here are the errors I'm getting:
When opening a new document, I get the error: "Can't locate the Startup Profiles. Please try after installing Illustrator again. Illustrator will now attempt to create a default document"
When quitting Illustrator, I get the error: "The Application Adobe Illustrator CS5 quit unexpectedly after it was relaunched. Mac OSX and other applications are not affected. Click relaunch to launch the application again. Click Report to see more details or to send a report to Apple"
I saved the report in case this is needed.
After browsing user forums, I attempted to reinstall using the following steps:
1) Before attempting any reinstallation, I deleted the folder drive/users/username/library/Preferences/Adobe Illustrator CS5 Settings/
2) Unstalled Illustrator using the uninstaller package that comes with Illustrator.
3) Removed shortcut from menu
4) Reinstalled Software.
Please advise.

After downloading CS5 I ran into multiple permissions errors, this is no exception.
The following folder needs Read & Write access:
Macintosh HD:Users:(Your User Name):Library:Application Support:Adobe:Adobe Illustrator CS5
You can change this access by selecting "Get Info" on this folder, then adjust the Sharing & Permissions options so everyone can Read & Write.
NOTE: This addresses the startup profiles only; crashing on quit is a separate issue.
When you open up Illustrator this time and try to create a new document, Adobe magically creates a "en_US" folder within the Adobe Illustrator CS5 folder that couldn't be added before.

Since photoshop cs5 can't use past the camera raw 6.7 plugin and that camera requires at least the camera raw 7.1 plugin, you could use the 8.7.1 dng converter
to convert the files to dng copies, which then photoshop cs5 should be able to open.

Dreamweaver CS5.5 Error on Quitting - Mac OSX 10.6.8

I am geeting the following javascript type of error ( see image attached ) when I exit or quit Dreamweaver CS5.5 on Mac OSX 10.6.8.
Any ideas on why this is happening? This is the first time this happens to me.

InDesign CS5 crashes on startup - Mac OSX Lion

Hi Everyone,
I've reinstalled InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator CS5 after upgrading to Mac OSX Lion,
Photoshop and Illustrator work fine but InDesign crashes on startup.
I've followed a few threads on here, one suggested creating a new adimistrator-level user on my machine - and that works, but I can't figure out what to fix in my regular user to make InDesign work in here again...

I'm having a similar problem but I haven't been able to get it to work. I created a new administer level user but InDesign still won't open under that user. I've tried the other suggestions as well with no success. Please help!!!! It really doesn't help that I'm in South East Asia traveling with no fast internet to be found. :\

Mac OSX v10.6.5: How's it working for you with Premiere Pro CS5?

If you've installed Mac OSX v10.6.5, let us know how it's working for you.
Please make sure that you're using the most recent update for Premiere Pro CS5 before you report back. We don't want to waste our time disentangling problems that were actually fixed in Premiere Pro CS5 (5.0.2) from issues that still exist.

Basically:
Premiere Pro does not want to play the timeline (or the source window) anymore. Sometime it plays for 2 minutes, sometime for 2 seconde and then stops, but most of time, it wont play at all.
I can scroll over my timeline (no sound scrolling), but when I hit space bar (or clic on the play button) I can see the play button turning into a square (which mean it's now the stop button), but the timecodes doesn't run and the image doesn't play.
So I suggest people to not being stupid as I was and to wait before to update... And hope a solution to come soon.

Hi, Chris. Thanks for giving this query a look. I have the same problem. All documents print on my HP Deskjet 932C except Photoshop files since I updated to Mavericks.
My CS5 version is 9.0 x64. Mavericks is 10.9.4.
I checked the HP drivers and HP doesn't have one for OS X newer than 10.4.
I tried printing out the detailed report (very long!) and this page rejected the reply as spam. Can we provide the text as an attachment?

Photoshop CS5 - colour settings in Print menu not working after update Mac OSX maverick

After upgrading to Maverick OSX on the iMac printing from CS5 via Epson R3880 is not working correctly. In Print Settings menu the drop downs for Colour and Colour Settings are greyed out. I already re-installed PS and installed the new drivers from epson. Any ideas?

but after choosing PS manages color, the options in the print menu for choosing color (color or b&W) and color settings are not available anymore. They used to be the last three years I printed with photoshop/epson 3880.
Instead they are greyed out now.

If Photoshop managed color, then the controls in the printer driver are supposed to be grayed out - that's how Apple specifies drivers to work (because only one party should be managing the print color).
So what you're describing is perfectly normal.
