DW CS6 Crash On Startup, MMDocumentTypes.XML problem

On Dreamweaver CS6 which I just installed today, I keep getting the following error on startup,
"No document types have been found in the Configuration/DocumentTypes/ folder. The MMDocumentTypes.xml may be missing or corrupted. The application will exit now.
I've tried the cache deletion method found in the FAQ thread for crashes on startup with no success as well as reinstalling Dreamweaver once. I'm on Windows 7 64 bit. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

I just revisiting my problem today by doing yet another uninstall then reinstall. I think the issue I had was in the configuration files (although I'm not sure why it happened) as the second time I uninstalled, I made sure to tell the uninstaller to delete User Preferences Data or something of that sort (it's the checkbox over on the right when you choose what to uninstall out of the suite. Try uninstalling with that checked and then reinstall againm, worked for me.

  • AE CS6 crashes at startup - indicating GPU problem

    Hi,
I am new to the Abobe suite. Using a MacPro running 10.7 Lion, Intel based processors. Using a Radeon ATI 6xxx video card (2 monitors connected via mini-display, HDMI not used at the moment). Installed AE properly (support desk Adobe verified this remotely). AE CS6 is crashing at startup, indicating a GPU problem. Support desk Adobe has advised to contact 'the Mac guys' in order to see if an update to the video card driver might resolve the issue. Mac support is confirming my system to be fully up to date. From other topics on this forum I noticed more people are suffering (or have suffered) the same problem. However I haven't seen any firm/clear resolution to this problem.
Can anyone tell me (in simple language) what I can do in order to get this configuration to work (ideally without having to replace my Graphics Card - as I believe it is a rather new model that I would expect to be supported)?
    Thanks in advance,
    Marcel

  • Bridge CS6 crashes on startup after upgrade from CS5

Yesterday I upgraded to Photoshop CS6 using an install disk mailed from Adobe.  Photoshop CS6 itself appears to be working fine, but both the 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Bridge CS6 crash on startup with the standard Windows popup ("Adobe Bridge CS6 has stopped working.  Windows is searching for a solution...").  Bridge CS5 still works great, as it did before the CS6 installation.
The Windows Event Viewer shows the following message for the crash of the 64-bit version:
Faulting application name: Bridge.exe, version: 5.0.0.399, time stamp: 0x4f5ec28e

I've rebooted multiple times and tried reinstalling from the upgrade disk, but the problem persists.
The installation is on a machine dedicated to Photoshop whose system info is included below.  I'm running a multi-disk setup with 1 SSD as my C drive, another SSD for Temp and Scratch (in different partitions on the same SSD), and a RAID 5 array of hard drives for the actual image files.  To my knowledge I'm running with the latest drivers of everything.
I'm not sure how to move forward at this point.  Any information or assistance would be most appreciated.

Thanks Curt, but this is not a virus issue.  Think about it, how could the ntdll.dll file be virus infected and yet only impact the running of this single application?  That really wouldn't make sense now would it?  That library is critical to many windows function and if it were virus infected, I would have more things to worry about that trying to get Bridge to launch.
I already did my homework on that before I posted here and tried some of the things suggested on verifying the integrity of my system files.  The Digital Signature Information shows to be okay.
It could be that I upgraded this system from Windows XP Professional to Windows Vista Business and that I have an old (CS2) install that I did not remove from the computer.  I have done a variety of things to try and get to the root, but to no avail.  I am sure that if I were willing to start completely from scratch and do a clean install of the OS, I may be able to get it to work.  I don't really have time to do that however, and since I am not the only person who has had the issue with Bridge failing to start, I suspect the solution lies somewhere within the architecture of Bridge in CS6 that is at the root of my problem.
I am hoping that someone from Adobe will finally figure it out and provide an update that works.

  • Help! Photoshop cs6 crashes at startup after 13.05 update

    Hi,
    I urgently need help, please!
I just now tried to update my Photoshop Extended CS6 to 13.05 and now Photoshop CS6 won't open at all. It crashes at startup, no matter how many times I try to open it. Rebooting hasn't made a difference. Not only that, all previous updates have disappeared as well, and in Finder I see that the program shows as 13.0. So this update attempt has wiped out my previous updates to boot.
I should add that I have never, ever had a problem updating Photoshop before (I've owned it since version 5.5, way before CS came around) but something has obviously gone very wrong here despite the fact that throughout the update process I never got an error message.
I am desperate now to find out how to remedy this. What steps can I take to make the program operational again? I don’t even care if I have to skip the update for now. I never would have ventured on this update if I'd known there was the slightest possibility of jeopardizing the functioning of Photoshop.
What do I do now? I leave on an extended travel journey in 24 hours and desperately need Photoshop and Camera Raw to work so I can process my photographs.
I've been searching for solutions online but can't find any clear instructions. Some people mention  an Adobe Application Manager but I have not had an error messages so I'm not sure how to proceed.
If anyone is knowledgeable in this area, I'd be most grateful for your input. Thanks in advance!

Delete what? Photoshop CS6? Not uninstall? Please clarify. Thanks.
Never just "delete" an Adobe application, never just drag it to the trash!
Always use the Adobe Uninstaller for each application.

  • CS6 Crash on startup

I was working on building a small music montage in Premiere 6 last week and now this weekend it's crashing on startup on my Lion Macbook Pro.

  • InDesign CS6 crashes at startup after windows 7 update

InDesign crashes at startup after windows 7 update: Faulting module path: C:\Windows\system32\MSVCR100.dll (Microsoft Visual C runtime and update KB2538243 and KB2565063)
    Reinstalling did not help
Also Adobe Encore CS6 seems to be affected

I looked at the recovery files in:
    C:\Users\MyName\AppData\Local\Adobe\InDesign\Version 8.0\en_US\Caches\InDesign
I deleted all the files and Indesign started up fine.  feeling good I closed Indesign and restarted.
    Indesign Crashed again.
Deleted all files again and reloaded.
I went to "Edit:Preferences:File Handling:Document Recovery Data"  to:
    G:\Adobe\Indesign\Cache\Recovery
Interestingly, the Indesign application recovery files still reside in the user directory above.   But the document recovery data moves to the G drive above.
There is no clear reason why Indesign quit loading today.  It worked fine since initial installation last year.  But separating the document recovery data from the application recovery data seems to fix the problem for now.

You need to update to the most recent version. The one listed in the above post is 16.0.0. The most recent is 16.0.4. And if you did a migration of the applications then you will need to uninstall, run the cleaner tool and reinstall. Adobe apps on a Mac don't do well with migration.

  • Illustrator CS6 crash on startup

I had this issue but after reinstalling Windows, it was gone...
But now it has came back again...
When launching alone or with a file I got the following error
After closing it, the process still continue to run in background
If I try to load it without plugins (pressing shift while loading) I got this error
but in this case, the process is not running in the background
Reinstalling Illustrator doesn't fix the problem !
My system is Windows XP x86 on AMD processor with 2gb of RAM
    Any ideas ?

    HaldeR,
Are the font families Verdana and Tahoma installed and enabled in TTF (not OTF)?
There may be many reasons for crashes. Some are covered in the general list below.
You may (also) try this specialized forum (where you may be able find the answer from previous threads),
    http://forums.adobe.com/community/download_install_setup
or Customer Care (tick I Still Need Help and hope for an agent available for a chat),
    http://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html?product=illustrator&topic=downloading-installing-and-s etting-up
You may try the following (you may have tried/done some of them already) and see whether it helps (the following is a general list of things you may try when the issue is not in a specific file; 3) and 4) are specifically aimed at possibly corrupt preferences):
    1) Close down Illy and open again;
    2) Restart the computer (you may do that up to 3 times);
    3) Close down Illy and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Option+Shift during startup (easy but irreversible);
    4) Move the folder http://www.bugge.com/Family-and-friends/Illy/illy.html (follow the link with that name) with Illy closed (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible);
    5) Look through and try out the relevant among the Other options (follow the link with that name, Item 7) is a list of usual suspects among other applications that may disturb and confuse Illy, Item 15) applies to CC, CS6, and maybe CS5);
    Even more seriously, you may:
    6) Uninstall, run the Cleaner Tool (if you have CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC), and reinstall.

  • CS5/CS6 Crash on startup, possibly Wacom Related

Hello everyone. I've owned a Wacom Bamboo and both versions of Photoshop for some time, and use them frequently. However, since my purchase of a Wacom Intuos5 Drawing pad yesterday and installation of it's drivers, Photoshop has failed to open- both versions crash during either the "Intializing" or "Initializing menus" stage upon startup. I've tried reinstalling CS6, uninstalling Wacom drivers, installing new versions and reverting back to the old, updated my Intel HD Graphics Drivers, yet I've still had no success.
After spending most of yesterday searching for a way to resolve this issue, It'd be great if someone here might have a solution to this problem.

I am interested in your issues as I am about to install an Intuos 5 on my PC win7x64 for use with Ps and Painter.
Have you tried doing a system restore to before the Intuos install to get it back to working?
Did you see any errors in the Intuos install?
Was an AV program running; perhaps crashing the Intuos install?
Did you uninstall the Bamboo setup before installing the Intuos? maybe a common file causing crashes?
Using the latest Wacom driver s/w for Intuos 5?

  • InDesign CS6 crashing at Startup

So I installed Windows 8, and now we re-installed Adobe CS6 inDesign but whenever I start up inDesign it says "The program has encountered a problem and needs to close", the thing is though if I run it as an administrator everything works fine and no crashes. What's wrong/happening?

Well, it should be working (obviously). Did you activate the default Administrator account and have success with that? It sounds like you did.
I have no idea why it isn't working. I'd uninstall, run the clean tool (CS Cleaner Tool for installation problems | CCM, CS6, CS5.5, CS5, CS4, CS3) run MSConfig and turn off all non-essential startups and services, and reboot, then try the install again. You can run MSconfig again after to restroe normal startup.

  • Media Encoder CS6 crashes on startup

I am running MAC os 10.7.5
    2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
    4 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM
Adobe Creative Suite 6 Master Collection
This problem just started a few days ago, otherwise the program was running fine.
I've tried starting it up more than a dozen times and each time it would crash.
I've even reset the PRAM, ran fixed Permissions
    What else can I do?
    Need help...

    Hello...and thanks!
Last night i started to do it manually with Premiere Pro cs6
    and it too crashed.
I had dragged  all the .mp4's together into the timeline and was editing by going down the line.
What i finall noticed was it was the same file crashing in AME and PrePro. So i went to the next .mp4 in PrePro
    and it worked fine.
So i pulled the same file in again from the project folder and put it at the end of the timeline by itself and tried converting it...and it worked just fine.
So something about this file was corrupt when pulling it in with the other .mp4 clips...but when i pulled it in by itself
that same exact clip was fine...weird
    But its working now
    Thanks!

  • Photoshop CS6 crashing on startup

    Hi there,
