DW-CS6 Does it support css rounded corners?

Anyone know if the new release of DWCS6 will support CSS rounded corners in Design View?
Thanks

Dreamweaver CS5.5 wasn't an intermediate upgrade. It contained a whole swathe of excellent features, and was fully deserving of being called CS6. The problem was that Photoshop and Illustrator weren't ready for an upgrade, and they didn't want the numbers to go out of sync. Bad marketing decision, but what's new? ;-)
Yeah, most don't upgrade for 2 versions. I'm still on 4 but will upgrade to 6. Not many will upgrade from 5 to 5.5 as even if it wasn't an intermediate upgrade it reads, on the face of it, the hell like it.

No, I'm not in charge of the forums. Never have been. I think what's needed is a stronger horizontal rule between posts, but I suspect that will take about 12 months to implement.
A stronger keyline between the posts would help, that can't be too difficult to incorporate.

  • IE 9 support of rounded corners for theme 23

Does anyone know if the rounded corners (CSS3) are all rounded, for theme 23, in IE 9? I thought IE 9 claimed that it would support some HTML 5 and CSS 3. Isn't it true? They all appeared rounded in all other browsers.

You don't need positioning.  Use RGBA for background color & opacity.

  • CSS rounded corners in IE

HEy does anyone have a solution for making rounded corners in internet explorer? border-radius works fine in all rowers except IE.

ok i did the HTC part and found and downloaded one. but i dont know how to upload the HTC file::::
Use an htc file in order to 'enable' rounded corners.
This is the preferred method for simple layouts as it 'enables' the older versions of IE to render rounded corners without the use of IECC's, (IE Conditional Comments) as the file 'contents' will be ignored by IE9. I would however advise the use of IECC's when using this or any other method as not only does it enable one to 'isolate' any pre IE9 specific code. but removes the limitation of having to apply a single border-radius value to all the corners. (see note below).
    any help with the htc?

  • Does EMOD email editor support CSS?

I've been trying to use CSS styles to format the HTML email template for EMOD and it seems to work in HTML Edit, but once I switch to HTML Preview, all CSS styles are lost and even removed from my code.
Is this because EMOD does not support CSS and its auto-cleanup removes it automatically?

Nicholas, CSS usually works but instead of previewing in HTML preview, I would send a test email to see if it works properly in the received email.

  • AP Div with Rounded Corners

    Hi All,
I want to draw an AP Div but I want it to have rounded corners.  The reason being is that when I add a seperate background it will be more obvious and look better.
If anybody knows of a better way of adding a body of text with it's own background and rounded corners please can you let me know how to do it?
    Many Thanks
    Big_Gee

    Wow Big_Gee!  I think that's a Big_Question!
For a start, you can add rounded corners using CSS3 but it isn't widely supported accross all browsers.  I don't think that DW will add those CSS rules but it won't take too much to find sample code on the web with a quick Google search on CSS Rounded Corners or something.  Nancy O has recently responded to a rounded corner question here: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/657158?tstart=30.  I don't konw if it makes a difference that you want the effect on AP Divs or not.  I haven't read that you can't.
Adding a background image is achieved with CSS and you might be able to think about putting the rounded corners on the image in your graphics editor.  That will depend partly on how flexible you site is and whether users can increase text size in the browser.
If you are using AP Divs (position: absolute) you need to be a bit cautious.  General advice is to use them very sparingly and when other options don't achive what you want.

  • Bug: Artefacts on rounded corners

On Safari Version 6.0.2 (8536.26.17), ML, Retina MacBook, there are artefacts on the corners of HTML elements which have CSS rounded corners.
    See image for details:
This does not happen in other browsers (Chrome...), and it seems it happens only on the right side of those elements. I haven't noticed artefacting on the left side.
This is not a CSS bug or something code related, as this same CSS works perfectly on other browsers and even in Safari on non-Retina screens.
So: Safari 6, Mountain Lion, Retina - artefacting on right side of rounded corners.

    I also have this bug.

  • How to outline the Round Corners effect?

    Hi,
How do I outline the Round Corners effect?
I have drawn a rectangle outline, and applied the Round Corners effect. I need to now outline both the stroke (easy) *and* the round corners effect. What I need is a path, containing the outline including rounded corners.
I'm trying to export an illustration to XAML and it doesn't seem to support the round corners effect, thus it needs to be part of the path and not an effect.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks!

A side note (probably already requested):
Wouldn't it be coherent if the Expand Appearance command eventually were accessible right on the Appearance palette? That would be its native location, it seems …

  • Rounded corners + resize rectangle

How does one stop the rounded corners from degrading while resizing a rectangle with rounded corners?

An added benifit to usng Effect>ConvertToShape>RoundedRectangle is that you can change the Corner Radius at any time using the Appearance Panel.
If for some reason you have to have the rounded rectangel as a path and not as an  "effect" just select the rectangle and Expand Appearance.   You can go back and use the Effect>ConvertToShape>RoundedRectangle again if you want then back to Expand Appearance go back and forth as often as you like.
Just remember if you want the corners to expand - resize the "Expand Appearance" object
If you want the corners to keep the same radius - resize the "Effect>ConvertToShape>RoundedRectangle" object

imho, you can't really say it's "Pure CSS" when you need junk
    markup to make
    it work.
I'd say this solution would be more elegant if it actually
    relied on JS to
    plug the Bs you need.
The title would be less catchy though ;-)
    In any case, good job!

  • Round Corners in CSS

    Hi,
I was wondering if anyone knew how to create round corners in

Is there a simplified way of doing it?
    Thanks,

Theoretically when browsers support all of CSS3 you might be
able to get a pure CSS solution that doesn't involve extra markup,
but that's not anytime soon, so for now you'll need to pick lots of
extra markup to do it only with CSS and borders/background colors
but they all seem to be blocky rounded, not really rounded, or a
bit of extra markup and images. Plus you can get away with fewer
images if you don't have to have all for corners rounded.
I'm sure there are more pages out there, but take a look at
these pages for a some rounded corner techniques:
    http://www.cssjuice.com/25-rounded-corners-techniques-with-css/
    http://www.stumbleupon.com/tag/corners/
They mostly use images and some use only one image but use
judicious positioning, and some may set it up using JavaScript that
auto-adds in the extra markup and images for you.

  • How do I create rounded corners on an image in CS6?

    Hello There!
In the previsous version of Photoshop, I use to do the following so that my pictures had rounded corners:
    Open a picture
Click the layer mask button twice
Then use the rectangle tool to get my rounded corners on the preloaded image - Presto, all done!
This does not work in CS6.  Does anyone have a better method?  I just want to have rounded corners (radius 5) to my photos.
Thank you so much for your help!
    -K

You can still use a Rounded Rectangle for a vector layer mask.
Draw your path first, then choose Layer - Vector Mask - Current Path

  • Rounded corners and dropshadows in CSS

    Hi all,
Hopefully I am not repeating a similar question. I am trying to redesign my site (with not much luck) in CSS. I want some text/navigation boxes that have rounded corners and drop shadows.  Using CSS do I still need to create the images in an image editor, slice the images and place the appropriate sections of the image in divs to get this effect (much like using tables)?
    Thanks in advance
    Chris

Like Nancy mentioned, the border-radius properties are not supported in older browsers, particularly IE6, which some of us still worry about. I'm not sure about the support in IE7, but I still design with IE6 in mind. In fact, I have never upgraded my IE browser since version 6, so I keep it on my computer for testing purposes.
In deciding whether to use new css features is deciding whether you are willing to leave IE6 behind. I emailed Simon Collison about this topic a couple of weeks ago. He wrote two very good books about CSS, Beginning CSS and CSS Mastery. The latter book was co-written with Andy Budd.
    Here's what Simon said:
"There are so many conflicting views that you really need to think about your target audiences and decide based on that. Will you upset just two or three percent of people, or twenty/thirty percent by not serving for IE6?
"We use stats to discover the portion of users using IE6 and make a unique decision for each project.
"In all honesty, I think it is too early to abandon IE6. We work for clients in the real world, with lots of users locked into using IE6 thanks to over-zealous, outdated IT teams/experts who won't let them upgrade or use Firefox etc."
When I mentioned to Simon that some of the css features he used in his book were not supported in IE6, he responded:
"In a book like CSS Mastery, you have to forget older browsers and look at the future, and cool, exciting techniques. If we wrote that book so everything worked in IE6, it'd be a dull book, and would not have advanced CSS usage."
Most of us are itching to use the latest features of CSS but we need to design for users and consider what their experience will be. So, it comes down to this: It's your decision whether you will use CSS that is not supported by some of the older browsers. If you have a fairly sophisticated market that probably upgrades their browsers to the latest versions, then you might choose to go with the latest features.
My decision is to still style for IE6 (I think it's safe to say that most designers have left IE5 far behind in the dust). These new CSS3 features will look absolutely hideous in IE6.
There is a technique Simon uses in one of his books that he calls "progressive enhancement." The technique will enable new css features, like rounded corners, to only work in modern browsers and in old browsers, like IE6, visitors will see square corners.
I think the best technique that most designers still use is to create rounded corner images in your css. Here's an example of a web site showcased in css zen garden that uses rounded corners with a drop-shadow:
    http://www.csszengarden.com/?cssfile=208/208.css
If you right-click on the rounded corners and look at the background images, here's what you see:
    For the header: http://www.csszengarden.com/208/top.jpg
    Main content: http://www.csszengarden.com/208/right_bottom.gif
    Side bar: http://www.csszengarden.com/208/left_bottom.gif
CSS Zen Garder invites designers to download the css file from these sites so you can learn from it.
By the way, the second edition of CSS Mastery: Advanced Web Standards Solutions is due out in a couple of weeks.
