DW-MX-04 Drop-down menus won't work.
I'm using Dreamweaver MX 2004 (have been for several years, so I know my way around it). I want to create drop-down or fly-outs menu's to consolidate page links into categores in order to reduce the number of link tabs I have on each page. I've been able to create the menu's I needed (using: Tag Chooser\ Behaviors\ Show Pop-U Menu), but when I preview the pages in IE, the text only shows on the mouseover text (not on top) despite having the text color set as black in the Menu window. But it gets worse. When I uploaded the page to try it, the drop down menus don't show up at all when I hover over the main buttons and I get javascript errors.
Can anyone give me so assistance on how to resolve this?
I've checked the text color issue using the code view editing pane, and it matches the way I have it setup in the Pop-Up Menu. But that's the least of my worries if I can't get them to work at all when the pages are live.

MX2004 software is also somewhat antiquated and no longer supported by Adobe. So it shouldn't surprise you that the tools from nearly a decade ago are obsolete today. The web itself has changed significantly since 2004!
Web standards have moved from HTML3 to HTML5. Layouts have departed from old school nested tables to more efficient CSS. Unlike a decade ago, today's web devices include everything from hand held smartphones & tablets to laptops, desktops and TV displays. So it's not possible to stand still and keep pace with the evolving web. If you're not moving forward, you're falling behind.
CSS is not an extension. HTML = content. CSS = Cascading Style Sheets. CSS is used to style your content. With CSS you can make an ordinary list look like a very cool menu with buttons, borders, shadows, drop-down and rollover effects. If you master CSS, you can do some very creative things with it. However, coding skills are essential.

Multiple drop down menus won't work
Hi guys,
Mac newbie here: I decided to give them a shot after a lifetime of PC use due to a friend's recommendations.
I'm trying to apply for jobs, and every single site that has two drop down menus, with one dependent on the other, won't work in Safari. (if I go try it out on a PC with IE, it works without any problems). For example, a menu that reads "country" and the next one reads "state". It will let me choose the country, but then the "state" one won't work at all, with the only option being "choose one".
As these are required fields to send the application along, I'm having to borrow someone else's computer every time I apply for a job, and that's getting old fast. Any ideas on how to get Safari to quit hanging up on the dropdowns?
I have no idea if this matters or not, but I bought my Mac when I lived in Japan. I'm still running the English version of the OS, though.
Thanks for any help you can give me!I use www.alldatapro.com for auto repair information. It a members only site so it might be a bad example. The problem im having is, i cant select the first option in any dropdown menu. The badpart about that is some of the menus only have one option. In such a case, i have to log in on regular computer, put the info in, then reload the website on the ipad so i can use the "previous vehicles" option. I have a jailbroken ipad running 4.3.1. The dropdown mnus worked perfect until i upraded to 4.2 and i still havent found the source.

Ever since I updated firefox to 3.5.16 java ahs stopped working. Drop down menu's in ebay don't, windows from links (such as tracking in ebay) don't work, pogo game windows won't load or will load the widow frame but not the game itself. I work online and run and online business and this wastes a lot of my time. Idon't want to use IE but might have to - I have looked in the forums and online and can't find a solution. Your help would be greatly appreciate it.

My Drop Down Menus Do Not Work Properly in IE
Hey. I'm really stuck and have been for over a week. Let me preface this by telling you I didn't build our website and have little knowledge of spry and spry assets. I can't the get the gentleman that built our site to help and I'm desperate!
The site - www.ncsoccer.org , has drop down menus. They work fine in Chrome, FF and Live Preview (DW CS4). But in IE8, they do not.
I had to revise the drop downs (changing names and removing some drop downs - I've done this with no problem before). When I uploaded the index page and the template pages, the error started.
In addition, the people in my office that use Contribute to update their sections, cannot access anything but our index page and I don't know what (if anything) I've done wrong, as everything worked fine before the menu revision.
I'm including the 'sprymenubarhorizontal.css" code below. Maybe you can see something that isn't right.
Thanks for any insight or suggestions. Remember, asking me to create to create sprys or widgets or something like that may be over my head! Try to dumb it down for me!

Drop down menus no longer work on many sites after upgrade to ios 5.
On my iPad and iPhone I'm having trouble on a number of sites with drop down menus. When you click on the menu, it immediately selects the default option instead of allowing the menu to drop and then select one. Any way to fix this?

BillObviously you are referring to web sites using Safari???? If it happens on both devices - iPad and iPhone - that seems rather odd to me.
Try all of the basics .... Resetting the iPad may be your first best bet ....
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

My Drop down list won't work in Adobe Reader 9
I have a form that I created in Adobe Designer 7 but have opened and saved in Adobe Designer 9 (also redid the connection string, because it didn't like 7's). Now I can open and use the form normally in Adobe Acrobat Pro 7 and 9 and in the PDF previews of both Designers. But Adobe Reader 9 won't let the drop down list function the way it is supposed to. Also my form has fields that are binded to a SQL Server 2K5 database.
Now if Adobe Reader does not allow database connections or fields binded to them, is there a way to get similar functionality in any way?Reader Extended? Is that when you open the PDF in Acrobat Pro, go to Advanced, and click "Extend Features in Adobe Reader"? I did that and it still didn't work. Matter of fact it locked up the PDF when I tried to open it in Acrobat Pro 7 or 9.
Or is that Adobe Reader Extension ES package? -
Drop-down list won't work at the bottom of a page
I'm having a problem in my forms with drop-down lists that are situated at the bottom of a page. When the list drops down, only the first few values can be chosen. Any that fall too far down the list, and thus hover over top of the next page, cannot be selected. In this situation, the scroll bar for the list actually scrolls the entire document. Very weird. Has anyone expreienced this before? Perhaps I'm making a simple mistake.
Does it help if you disable hardware acceleration ?

Spry drop down formatting won't work in IE
I've tried the other fixes mentioned on this forum- nothing worked.
It looks correct in Mozilla (although the background color doesn't go all the way across the submenu buttons) but in IE instead of displaying vertically, the menu stretches out horizontally. I am redoing the menu and had it perfect the last time, and haven't changed a thing- I think there must be a problem with my tags because the code looks fine. Any thoughts?? Help is much appreciated!

drop down menus don't work...they disappear in a blink of an eye. This only happens in FF not IE? That includes the menu below! I can't have more than 10 tabs open because the arrow won't take me past 10 it just returns to the first 10???
Did you ever figure this out? I bought my iPad last week to use in my business as well. I assume you are trying to use alldata? That is where I noticed this same issue. I had problems with identifix working with safari but downloaded a different browser and that works fine. Alldata does not work with either browser. The main difference is that on identifix if there is only one engine selection, it automatically selects the only option and continues to the home page. With alldata you have to make the selection manually even if there is only one option. I am having some serious issues with firefox to the point of choosing another search engine. I can't print anything because it is stuck on fax and won't let me change it to my printer when i do try to select my printer it jumps right back to fax. The drop down menus do not work on any of the sites I go to. For example when purchasing clothes and you have to choose a size from a drop down menu I can't do it when I click on the drop down menu it doesn't work at all. I don't have a virus I ran my virus protector and no viruses are present. I don't have any suspicious issues going on with my computer so there has to be something in Firefox that is causing my issues. I tried internet explorer and I don't have any issues there. I hope you can help me because I love Firefox and would really like to continue to use it.
Lots of issues there, main one getting fcpx going again, try deleting the preferences using the utility deveoped by these guys.

Try deleting your render files and re-rendering the project.

Acrobat X 10.1.1 - Colors picker drop down menus not working
Colours picker drop down menus are not working stuck on default in all selections - Is there any work around / any other way to bring in or select an exact RGB / HEX etc colour besides using this picker if it doesn't work?

Hi, I am using DVDSP2.0.0 - it has been working fine for ages then suddenly about half of the drop down menus have stopped working - for example if I go to the "First Play" drop down menu in the "Disc" window and click on it - it goes blank. Any help on this would be much appreciated. NB: I recently did a software update including going up to OSX 10.11.4 and also a Pro application support update.
No-one from Apple, apart from the moderators, reads this forum. If you need to send feedback about a product there are alternative places to do so, which will be more effective than ranting here.
V2 has been quite a long time outdated now, and I don't think it is unreasonable to update your software to keep up with the developments in the OS. The software depends on Quicktime for a lot of the things it does, but changes to the QT architecture with successive OS updates are not backwardly compatible with older QT releases. QT6 is a different beast to QT7, for example. The only way to reliably keep older software running is to not update the OS.
That said, I do still occasionally see if DVDSP v1 still runs and the machine I have that on has 10.4.x on it... yet I installed it at 10.0.x, I believe. Amazing really, but then it is a different set of code to v2.
The other thing to consider when menu entries go AWOL is whether or not you have any font management software running, and if you have inadvertently turned off any fonts which the software uses.
Finally, if you have the older OS on a disc, can you not simply downgrade until such time as you get to a point where the upgraded FC Suite makes sense for you? -
Why are my slide shows disappearing and drop down menus not working?
I have a huge problem with clients currently waiting on a response from us.
We have created a website with MUSE, we have implemented slideshows and drop down menus which work fine when you preview them.
HOWEVER, once we put an editor in place for the client to then input their content onto the website, all of the slideshows disappear and the drop down menus no longer work!?
What do I do to rectify this problem??
Thanks GuysThis actually did work... But, I have figured out that the issue is really in IE7... and for whatever reason the code was making IE8 go into compatability mode (essentially using IE7).

Drop down menus on iPad, the first selection in the drop down will not load as a selection when using safari, what can I do? I use this for my mobile, on-site auto repair business and not being able to call up repair and diagnostic info and reference for some cars is troublesome for sure. It works fine on the computer and I have installed a remote desktop app as a workaround but it is unreliable because the desktop is not business dedicated and may be off or in use at the time. So is there a known fix for this?
Let me paint a more descriptive picture, visualize 4 drop down selection menus, first one is for year, next one is for make, 3rd one is model and the last one is for engine size/type. If I wanted to choose a 2012 vehicle it wont work because it is the top selection on the list. This can be forced by selecting any other year and then coming back to 2012. Ok fine, but then let's say I wanted to choose Acura as the make, well it won't take it because again it's the top selection. Again you work around it be selecting any other make and coming back to Acura. Ok now select the model, same trend follows. But now since most Acura vehicles come with dedicated engines and no optional engines I have only 1 selection in that final drop down menu and it will not take my selection and therefore never let me proceed to the info I need.
This is also true when ordering parts from my wholesaler's website, they use drop downs and I can only get to that last drop down and then I'm stuck. This is blindingly frustrating, what options do I have. I'm not opposed to any avenue at this point.Did you ever figure this out? I bought my iPad last week to use in my business as well. I assume you are trying to use alldata? That is where I noticed this same issue. I had problems with identifix working with safari but downloaded a different browser and that works fine. Alldata does not work with either browser. The main difference is that on identifix if there is only one engine selection, it automatically selects the only option and continues to the home page. With alldata you have to make the selection manually even if there is only one option.
