DW MX 2004 - locked templates - links impossible

Hi, Sorry if I'm bringing up a discussed item, but I can't
find more than three messages on this issue, and they don't help.
On Win XP Home SP2, using DW MX 2004, with ColdFusion, I
can't link pages to the index.cfm page. Every time I use the "Link
this page to existing page", I get the message:
"Making this change would require changing code that is
locked by a template or translator. The change will be discarded."
So... no links. I've tried disabling the display of CSS code,
as mentioned in the forum thread I found, but this doesn't help.
Any ideas? If I weren't bald, I'd be pulling my hair out...

Actually, there are hundreds of messages on this issue, but
your search
wasn't broad enough.
The warning that you describe means "Oops - DW found an error
somewhere on
this page or in one of its linked files". That's all - no
more, no less.
It likely has nothing to do with the change that you just
made or the
editable region.
Does your page validate?

BI 2004s web template as an iView in EP6 SP16 Portal

We are currently using SAP EP 6.0 SP16 as an Enterprise Corporate Portal. We also have a separate NetWeaver BI 2004s (different SAP NetWeaver BI 2004s Java/Portal runtime) and would like to run the new BI 2004s web template as an iView in the SAP EP 6.0 portal SP16. Can someone example in detail how this can be done?

I'm a little confused. The changes you mention below do I make them on the EP6 SP16 portal or SAP NetWeaver 2004s BI portal? Note if I suppose to make these changes on EP6 SP16 portal via SAP BW Report iView template well there is no property called Version property. To be clear I want to run some BI 2004s BI reports in existing EP6 SP16 portal. I did read some documentation saying this can be done via URL iView and was able to execute BI report via right clicking on iView and select Preview. But when I add the URL iView to EP6 portal role and execute within portal desktop the BI report never loads just continuously showing the refresh (loading) image. Any ideas and appreciate your help.

DreamweaverMX - locked template or translator

I have designed an intranet in Dreamweaver mx and have discovered an extra </div> in some of the templates.
So i removed the </div> and carried on editting some of the pages that use the template and tried to create a new file using a template that had the extra </div> removed.
When I save the file a window comes up saying unable to save this as locked template or translator. The changes will be discard.
I have tried coping and pasting into notepad and resaving but to no avail. I have rebooted incase it was a glitch in the system no.
I can't progress unless this gets fixed.

ERecruiting:Process Template link not working

Hi All,
Recently we have applied a patch "nw eph1 sp05" after which the Process template link is not working.
We have raised an OSS note in this regard and they have a provided Note 1342091 to apply.
We have implemented that note and found that the Process Template link is working, but it is failing in one place:
Recruiter start page>View/Manage Candidates within Requisitions>Assignments>Select candidate and click on the 'Process Activities' button>click on the Process Template link
When we click on the Process template link a blank page appears.
However we have replied back to them, meanwhile I would like to know if anybody have faced any similar issue can provide some ideas in this regard.

'Edit Template' link

Hi
I would really like to hide the 'edit template' link from our administrators when they are in the edit mode of a page. We would like to use one global template and it would be disastrous if it could be changed by our administrators.

If you restrict the access privileges on your template to only allow yourself to manage the template then the edit template link will not appear when users with lesser privileges are authenticated.

How to make Row and Column headings bold in 2004s Web template

Hi!
I have created a web template which has 3 queries.
I would like to achieve the following
1> Bold the column heading and row headings.
2> Delete the space between the three reports(right now there is some space)
3> Align the columns on top of each other so that it looks like a continuous report.
(I know how to suppress the column headers on the 2 reports which are at the bottom)
Is this possible in 2004s???
With Table interface class gone in 2004s--is stylesheet modification the only way to go????
Please provide me with steps to achieve the above.

However I was only able to see the modules for Column Width, Negative number and Document Content.
Is there any other module as well to change Column heading ?Its not mentioned in the documentation.

Locked Template Error

I recently created a template based on a page I created in
Dreamweaver CS3, Version 9.
In one of the editable regions, every time I insert anything
(text, image, link, extension, etc.,) I get the following message:
Making this change would require changing code that is locked
by a template or a translator. The change will be discarded.
I have checked to see if the template is locked, but it does
not appear to be. Any thoughts?

This error is thrown whenever the template engine finds a
coding or usage
error anywhere on the page - it could be unrelated to any
template region.
So - does the page validate when you check it here -

Report to show Document Templates linked to what business partners

Hi all,
I want to write a report to show what default document print templates are linked to what business partners. eg. InvoiceTpye1 is used by Customers 1,6,and 8 etc etc.
However I am not aware of what tables hold this info. Does anyone know?

How to call a portal KM URL link from WAD template Link

I cannot figure out whare and how to put the portal KM URL Link into the web application web link.

Add content administration role to the user.
The the content administration tab would be visible to the user in the main menu tab.
Then in content administration tab, configure the URL for KM URL tab or link.
This would be done by EP experts. Please contact your EP experts to do.

Templates link to template folder

hi. I not used to using dreamweaver. I would MUCH rather
write html by hand. but my boss uses DreamWeaver and I am trying to
update a template that he made.
so he created a "site" in dreamweaver so it put all his
files in its own structure and all. but when I update the template
in the template folder and update the pages using the template all
the links and images are linked to the template folder.
It would look like "<a
href="Template/pictures/pic.jpg">" when I just want it to say
"pictures/pic.jpg" but in the template the file is linked properly.
and I can't get DW to look outside of the template folder for
templates.
anyone know how to fix it so that it won't change the links
to look in the folder

I am a little unclear on your post, but I think that if you
reference your template's links to the exact directory the images
are located, the links remain relative wherever the file using the
template is located. I could just be telling you something that
you're already doing....sorry if I am.
I've never seen this as an issue in DW before (are you using
MX, MX 04, or 8?)...
DW won't find Templates outside of the /Templates
folder.

Template link to css styles lost

Hi, why, when I create a new page based a template, does the link to the css style sheet become broken?
I can see in the code of the new page that ".." is missing from the "../" in the url to the style sheets – but the template has the correct links in place.
Previous pages buolt using the same template(s) work fine. This appears to be a problem that has just occurred.
If anyone hs any clues, that would be much appreciated.

All sorted! Copied all existing files to a new folder, then Site > New Site, chose the new folder, recreated the site cache and hey presto!
I managed to do something myself!
Hope this helps somebody else in the same fix!

Template links are always local

Hi
I am just converting from GoLive so please bear with me. I have a site that I used to be able to drop big collections of layers onto with multiple Flash items and background images. This doesn't seem possible in DW, o I have tried with a Template of the wole page. The pages work locally for preview, but once published, the background image links in the APs are all absolute pointers to locations on my hard disk. Any images on the page (not backgrounds) appear correctly - this is unsurprisingly doing my head in. Any page I create from the template fails, any page I create from a copy of my index page works. I created the template from a copy of the index page.
www.smallsystems.co.uk/dw1 shows the index with a working banner at the top, either of the links (News or Doco) show broken pages. The source reveals the problem which I think is related to the fact that the background images are set in the <head> whereas other images are set in the <body> and templates don't seem to like <head> stuff.
As an aside has anyone else noticed DW CS4 being pretty unstable under Windows 7, 32 bit?
Any help would be hugely appreciated.

Name, Local root, no image folder, Links relative to Document, HTTP address, Cache enabled.
Remote:
FTP
Maintain sync
Testing:
As remote.
I looked at the tutorial link you sent, I didn't use the wizard, but used Advanced, maybe that was a mistake given my inexperience with DW???
Regarding reliability, W7 was clean build with disk format on a new machine (delivered with XP about two months before W7 release).

How should be instatiated templates ? Is it done automatically ? What flags are needed for linking the library with templates ?

I'm not sure if it has something to do with instances=static option.
Maybe you can try if it works in your environment.
operator= is not needed in this procedure, so the associated error may be avoided.

Request Template link display

Hi,
I have logged in as xelsysadm and created "Contractor Create User" request template.
Settings are:
1. I didn't select "Template Level Approval Process" (Is it mandatory?)
2. For User Type, in Attribute Restrictions have selected "Contractor" as LookUp Values and "XellerateUsers" as Organization
3. Assigned "Request Administrators", "System Administrators" as roles.
Where can i see this "Contractor Create User" link?
Do i need configure anywhere?

are you using xelsysadm user to raise request?
one more thing. If you are not using Template level approval you must associate approval policy( for Request level and operational level). I suggest, you change it to Template level .

fail? Why do you suspect that this might be a template issue?
