DW MX Flash Button Upload

Can someone help me upload my flash button correctly. I can
not find the scripts folder. Thanks very much.
Mike

Flash buttons are not a good idea - those who don't have
Flash installed, or
those who need to use screen assistive devices, or those
searchengine
spiders that you want to see your links, will not be able to.

Definitely. We can't help you unless you are willing to take
the time to
learn how to do things properly.

  • GetURL isn't working when flash button is embedded into HTML

I'm making a basic HTML site with flash buttons that direct to hyperlinks.
I've made a simple flash button with the code on the button actions as:
    on (release) {
            getURL("http://www.google.com","_blank");
The button works great when I export it in Flash.
When i embed into the HTML using dreamweaver and preview/upload the site.... the button is there but when clicked it doesn't direct to the hyperlink.
    ANy ideas? Thanks. Brendan.

Use Flash to generate an html page and test that on the server.  If that works, then replace whatever Dreamweaver did with the Flash-made embedding code.  Beyond that, a link to the file on the server could shed some light.

  • Flash Button not showing

I have inserted a flash button into a side_navigation which
when clicked on is supposed to launch the end users e-mail program
with the address and subject lines pre-populated. This works fine
when tested from another internal server, however, from a remote
machine only a box with the "click here to activate this control"
pop up appears. The original site was created outside of
Dreamweaver using raw html code and Cascading style sheets. Any
    help is greatly appreciated!

    Hi Folks,
Hopefully this is a simple problem. I've added a Flash Button
via the Insert Media -> Flash Button in DW8. Unfortunately the
button does not show up when the php page is loaded up to the
server. And yes, I did make sure to upload the button file. When I
look at the source code from the server, the flash part looks a
little different compared to how it normally looks on a .htm page.
Here's what the 'view source' in the browser shows:

That's what the "Host directory" field in your remote site
    definition is
for. Put htdocs there, and you will always upload to the
    correct folder.

  • Previewing Flash Button in Dreamweaver

When I insert the Flash Button/Movie into the Dreamweaver doc
and preview in browser, I only see a placeholder.
I created a simple Flash "movie" with some dynamic text
functioning as a button layered over the animation.
It previews fine in flash, and when I play the animation in
the Dreamweaver document it looks fine but when I try to preview it
in the browser from the Dreamweaver document all I see is a Flash
placeholder. Is this something that will change when the page is
published or is there something else I should try?

If you want to use Flash for navigation, consider this -
    1. Some people don't have Flash installed - what do they do?
    Especially
consider those people who are browsing from a corporate
    internet where Flash
is not allowed by the IT staff.
    2. Search engines may not parse Flash links - your site will
    not be
spidered unless you have redundant HTML links
    3. Screen assistive devices don't parse Flash links - what
    will those users
    do?
    4. DW cannot maintain links within a Flash movie, so if you
    move or rename
a linked file, your navigation will break - what will you do?
    You will have
    to remake those buttons.
It's usually a very bad idea for these reasons - and for
    these reasons,
Adobe has removed Flash buttons and Flash text from CS4.

  • Flash Button question.

Any help on this matter is greatly appriciated. This is
probably a stupid question but it is driving me nuts.
I was updating my site in dreamweaver and I added a bunch of
flash buttons.(slider type) When I upload the site to my server ,
you have to click each button one time before the flash starts
working. If I remember correctly, when I first started adding
buttons, the properties at the bottom had 2 check boxes on the left
hand side to continouisly play the flash. I do not have those check
boxes now. I opened the buttons in flash and everything works fine
in flash. If I hit the play button(in properties) the flash will
work correctly until you preview in browser.
I'm an amatuer at best with this stuff so any help at all
would be extremly appreciated. You can see what I mean on my web
    site. It is www.brtguitarsllc.com
I didn't know what place was the correct place to post, so I
    posted in 2 fourms.

  • Help! Flash Button Troubles

O.K., Hello again everyone got yet another rookie question so
hopefuly y'all have the answer... I am using Dreamweaver MX and
using the preset Flash Buttons that come with it the "slider"
button in particular now I have edited this button and specified a
link (photoshop.htm) coming from (index.htm) but when I upload the
files to the server and try to test it, my index.htm comes up and
is perefect but the button will not link when clicked, it does
everything it is supposed to except take me to another page. I
inspected the code and saw no reference to the page it is to link
to, so attched is the code for y'all to see. Pleez HELP!
-P.S.- also with these buttons I must click to activate them
is there a way around having to click on them before they will
    animate?
    .

Don't use Flash buttons. That answer is simple! 8)
There are several really good reasons not to use them -
    1. They are inaccessible
    2. They can't be spidered
    3. They aren't usable by those who don't have Flash
    installed.

  • Missing Flash Button

I am at a loss as to why, when I added a new button to our
    index page, it
does not appear when uploaded. If I push F12 and load it from
    the file all
    is well.
I have checked that I have same setting on the button.
Please can anyone tell me how to make it appear.
Please do not give me a lecture about the fact that I should
    not be using
flash buttons etc. I still want to use them on our site for
    the time being.
    I use Dreamweaver 8

  • Flash button with images

    hi,
I want to create a flash button,& for the button
different images should load for press & release events. also I
want to reuse this button. Please can someone tell me how to do
    that

you'll need to use server-side scripting to handle part of the file upload and the file name retrieval from the upload folder.  assigning the uploaded files names you'll do from flash.  you'll use another script to retrieve the file names and in flash load and display which ever subset you want.

  • Flash button not appearing

I've added a flash button to my website and uploaded it to
the home file, but it's not appearing online. Any
    suggestions?

I just purchased some software that allows you to make flash
buttons. I made a button, and thought I had it uploaded to my page,
but it doesn't seem to be working either. I uploaded some button
designs from Adobe and I see them when I go to make or edit a
button, but I don't see the one that I thought was upload from the
new software. What software are you using and how did you upload
    your buttton?
