DW MX2004 design view not showing

Hi... I'm working in split mode in DWMX2004. The background
image is bigger than the design window. No matter what I do, I
cannot scroll to the top of the page to add content. There is no
scroll bar on the right side. I have minimized and stretched the
page, I have restored the page to full size. I cannot get it to
show the whole page. BTW, even if working in just design view, I
cannot get to the top of the page. Very frustrating to say the
least... please, help?
TIA
Mike T.

Did you just insert the image into a blank document, or have
you declared
this image as the background to a container.
You need to use css to declare this image as a background
image for the
table itself or for a div (do not use layers as your main way
to construct
a page-you'll only end up with more headaches :)

  • CS3 - Design View not showing externally linked images

    In CS3 Design View, externally linked images are not showing
    up... i am only getting the place holder.
    To prempt some questions:
    1/ Links are correct and complete - apart from the fact that
    they show up when previewing in the browser(s) - i have
    crosschecked
    2/ There are no spaces in the url
    3/ In the 'View' menu, 'Display External Files' is checked
    I had this problem before and escargo suggested saving and
    rebooting. It worked then but strangely, today, that file is again
    showing some of the externally linked images but not all. And on a
    new file, created today, none of the externally linked images are
    showing up... :(
    I'm sure there's a simple solution to the problem... anyone
    have any idea what it could be?
    Thanks and cheers,
    JJ

    Nope. Some show - some don't.

  • Design view not showing true design

    I'm using Dreamweaver CS3, and have an issue with design
    view.
    I was editing the content of a page in design view, applying
    styles from my main.css, when the page I was working on suddenly
    lost all its styles, including heading & paragraph styles, and
    placement of most div tags.
    My header and the div tags inside that are still visible, as
    is the side navigation, although the background image for the side
    navigation is not. It seems to be all my editable regions that have
    decided not to show correctly.
    I've checked other pages and templates based on the main.css,
    and they all appear to have the same problem.
    The good news:
    1. The CSS Styles inspector on each page shows it is attached
    to the main.css, but lists only three styles under that style
    sheet, all of which are named 'td img'.
    2. The main.css itself looks fine. All my styles are still
    there.
    3. When I preview my site in a browser, it looks as it
    should, so presumably it IS still attached to the style sheet, it's
    just not showing properly when I'm working on it.
    Any clues as to what's going on?
    As I'm sure everyone says, this is kind of urgent, so any
    help anyone can offer will be very gratefully received!
    Thanks in advance for any help you can offer!
    EDIT: I've been playing around with previewing the site in a
    browser again, and have encountered another issue, which may be
    related. I can preview a preliminary page, but all my links take me
    to a 'this page cannot be found' error message. I was pretty sure
    it wasn't doing this when I first encountered the problem with
    design view, but I could be mistaken. Has something happened to the
    internal links on my site, perhaps?

    In the View menu go to Style Rendering. Make sure Display
    Styles is checked.

  • Design View Not Showing Up In Master On Plan View Page

    Five days ago I downloaded a trial version of Muse and tried building Katies-cafe. Everything went OK except that the Design view is not showing up in the Master. Any Ideas? I disabled and re-enabled the thumbnail checkmarkin Plan view, and I also tried reseting the page properties in Design View, but it still doesn't work.

    Hi smartserpent,
    Can you post a screenshot of what you are seeing?
    Thanks,

  • Design view not showing actual layout

    I have a test page where I have a navigation div element
    created and it floats to the left. When I preview the page in IE,
    this navigation div element shows up as it should on the left part
    of the page but in the Design view of Dreamweaver CS3, the nav
    element box is centered and it makes it difficult if not impossible
    to type my content in because the nav box is sitting dead in the
    middle of the page where the content is supposed to go. Please
    help.

    Let's see the page's code, please. Can you post a link to it?

                                                                <table border="0" width="100%" cellspacing="1" style="border-collapse: collapse">
                                                                            <tr>
                                                                                         <!--
                                                                                         <td width="33%" align="center" valign="top">
                                                                                                      <a href="http://www.flabob.org" target="_blank"><img src="images/flabob.jpg" border="0"></a><br>
                                                                                                      <font size="1">Thomas Wathen Foundation</font><br>
                                                                                         </td>
                                                                                         -->

    The page contains PHP markup, but it's not any that should interfere with your seeing something in Design view.  What is interfering with that is some invalid HTML on the page.  For example -
    <font size="1">American Telecommunications Certification Body</font><br></td>
                    </td>
    (note the </td> followed by another </td>)
    If I remove that extra </td> then your Design view becomes visible.  There are at least two other problems on this page -
    There is no doctype - thus, the page will be rendered by all browsers in QUIRKS mode.  That's a bad thing.  You should use an HTML 4.01 Transitoinal doctype on this and other pages.
    There is an improperly nested <font> tag here -
    <b><font size="2" color="#FF0000">BuildAPlane Announces Teachers’ Day at AirVenture! >></b></font>
    I'd fix all of these if I were you.
    The page also contains PHP scripting that is connecting to an online database, and extracting information that is used to populate the <select> tag in the projects form.  You will not see that tag populated with options in Design view.  To see it, you would need to have Apache and PHP installed, and have a testing server defined for this site.  Even then, you would only see that tag populated in Live view or on Preview, not in Design view.

  • JSFF design view not showing

    In the design view of a jsff file, only the structure of the af components is shown. Any advice?
    (seems this forum does support images ...)
    Edited by: Leon Zeng on May 3, 2013 10:39 AM

    Hi Leon,
    I have seen this behaviour after the use of "Convert to .."
    e.g. after convert of af:inputText (Number) to af:outputText
    "Convert to .." did not remove <af:convertNumber>
    After remove of <af:convertNumber> in the "Source" I got my design view back.
    Best,
    Kees.

  • Design view not showing in fluid layout

    I can not turn on my design view, only live view is showing

    CC2014.1 and later no longer have a Design View while using Fluid Grids. This has been discussed here at some length, in multiple threads. If you would like to get Design View back, you can add the X shown below in your fluid grid's .css file...
        Dreamweaver Fluid Grid Properties
        dw-num-cols-mobile:      X 4;
        dw-num-cols-tablet:        8;
        dw-num-cols-desktop:    12;
        dw-gutter-percentage:    25;
    =====================================
    Close all other files first. Make the change, then save and restart DW.

  • Design view not showing links in template

    Newbie here,
    I have downloaded a template from the web, that i wish to
    use, but when i try and insert an article onto DW, from
    ezinearticle using the html code supplied and pasting into the code
    view, the result in the design view is that the links that appeared
    on the LHS have disappeared. I need these links to be able to
    publish further content onto different pages.
    Kind regards

    Hi smartserpent,
    Can you post a screenshot of what you are seeing?
    Thanks,

  • CS4 Design View not showing

    I am unable to get the design view to work unless I have Live View open in which case my properties box is unavailalbe.  I did have "overflow hidden" in my CSS but I deleted it, closed Dreamweaver and it still doesn't work.  When I right click and go to Element View, Full and Hidden are grayed out.  Only Reset is available which doesn't do anything.

    You have a couple invalid formatted comments on the page which could be causing display issues for your "Title Starts Here" type of comments.  The comment tag is only <!-- Comment Goes Here -->.  I think those extra hyphens "-" might be causing an issue with the Design View and confusing Dreamweaver.  Additionally in your footer, you have 2 open <p> tags but only one closing </p> tag.  That needs to be fixed as well.  It looks like the one around the address portion is missing, copyright seems fine.
    Lastly, you have some CSS errors in that document, but those shouldn't be causing the issue you are describing although they could cause browser issues that you may want to look into.

  • Design view not editable or viewable for validated site

    I can see the site fine at http://www.wwu.edu/atustest - it validates and is viewable in the browser and in "Live" or "code" view in Dreamweaver. However when I try to display it in "Design" view nothing shows except the header, and that is garbled. None of the content is viewable or editable. Help! I cannot deliver this to my non-coding users.

    If my code challenged clients want to maintain their own site, I give them a CMS.     DW is for experienced web developers.  It's  not for amateurs.

  • Design view not working after importing project from Flex Builder

    After importing a project from Flex Builder to Flash Builder I am no longer able to see anything in the design view. I am using the flex 4.5 sdk.
    Any idea how I can get this design view working? I heard it could have something to do with the metadata directory but am slightly lost here?...
    Adam

    Could you please provide more information as to what exactly are you importing. Also does Design View not lauch at all or does it give errors. Would it be possible for you to share the logs.
    Meanwhile you can try cleaning the workspace and importing again to see if that solves the issue.

  • Why do views not show up in HTML DB?

    All,
    When I create a new view with SQL/Plus why doesn't it show up in HTML DB? Views that were created previously (before install of HTML DB) are visable.
    Thanks

    Just FYI, I had a problem with views not showing up when using the wizards. Reported the problem and was told it was a bug. Workaround was to create my pages from scratch and explicitly reference the tables instead of the views.
    Although HTML DB could handle some views, views that were based upon other views or where there were several layers of views seem to give HTML DB a problem.

  • TS1702 Why is the icon for street view not showing up on the left side of the location on the maps app?

    Why is the icon for street view not showing up on the left side of the location on the maps app?

    Because the included Maps app no longer gets the maps data from Google, so no more street view.
    You can get a free Google Maps app from the iTunes App Store.

  • JSP Design view not working in JDeveloper 10.1.3.3

    Hi,
    The problem I have is that my JSPs all throw a class not found error in design view when I load them. The problem is related to the useBean tag (see error example).
    Error exercising tag : jsp:useBean
    java.lang.Exception: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com......client.jsp.testclass
    The application is divided into a web project, an EJB project, and a server classes project. The JSPs are in the web project and the problem classes are in the server classes project. I'm limited to source view editing of JSPs due to this and the problem is only in the IDE, deployment of the code to the server is fine.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.
    Kaitain

    I think they are but I could be mistaken, as the libraries list for the web project shows the server classes as a library.
