Dw mx2004 - plantilla /css??

Hola,
Hay posibilidad, de insertar titulo, descripcion y palabras
claves en una
plantilla,??.
Es una web esencialmente de fotos pero son casi 700 paginas y
como son todas
del mismo tema, puedo perfectamente poner el mismo titulo
etc.. a todas y
evitarme el trabajazo de colocar los meta 700 veces.
el css puede ayudar? es que acabo de iniciarme con el css y
estoy
encantada...
A lo mejor es una pregunta tonta, pero no soy profesional y
solo "trabajo
con DW" cuando tengo que actualizar o remoderlar mis dos
propias paginas
web. Ya me habeis ayudado en otras ocasiones.

Te creas un archivo llamado metas.php
Pones =FAnicamente las etiquetas Meta sin nada mas.
Y en las casi 700 paginas restantes... donde debes de poner
las =
etiquetas meta=20

Es casi por no decir el mismo trabajo, copiar y pegar...
para la =
pr=F3xima vez usa bases de datos y te olvidas de tantas

Dreamweaver CS3 (Mac) performance issues

I am running DW CS3 on a MacbookPro 2.16/ 2Gb Mac OS X
10.4.10.
It is slow to respond to mouse actions (constantly hitting
the wrong button as a result), constantly hangs (but comes back to
life eventually), is sometimes slow to type, renders faint dotted
lines across pages (built in MX2004 with CSS) and is generally
CRAP!
It runs slower than MX2004 on the same machine. I have both
versions installed on the machine (but don't run them at the same
time!). I have similar issues with Conribute CS3 not responding as
well.
Please offer some assistance before I throw my computer
across the room! Why is it so fsat on a PC, is something to do with
the way the Mac does Java? Help - i don't want to get rid of my Mac
for a PC!

Hi. I am experiencing the very same problem. No issues for
years up until recently - but my problems started not long after I
installed the latest upgrade for Mac OS 10.5.4 to 10.5.5 - I am
going to use Time Machine to revert back to 10.5.4 it may not be
the answer, nor a long-term solution but it driving me nuts.
I am currently deleting sites out of my site manager and then
reloading them from the STE file everytime I need to work on them.
I have read that this problem existed in Dreamweaver 8 on Windows,
but an update sorted it out - lets hope an update appears soon to
fix this problem.

MX2004 - CS4 : can't see new CSS outlining

I got out of the stone age and got CS4 mainly for graphic workflow and easier integration with DW. What sold me is being able to see the outlining CS4 shows with CSS.
But when I brought in all my websites and opened them it pretty much display as MX did although of course there's live view etc. BUT there's no outlining around all the CSS page content and there's no tree when I view the CSS files.
I mainly used MX2004 for hand coding since its so old and all the site render properly in the browsers. Why won't they take advantage of the new features in DWCS4? Is it because they were created in MX? It shouldn't matter to the CSS should it?

I also make extensive use of Firebug in Firefox to see which rule is affecting which element in the layout.
When you say there's no CSS tree, are you referring to the CSS Panel in DW or the Code in Code View or something else?

Anyway to get MX2004 to display CSS properly

I read the latest version of DW does display CSS correctly.
Is there anyway to get this in MX2004? Plug-in? Any trick?
Its taking too long to do it all by hand and preview in
browsers and then back to make changes in the codes, etc.

found it quite good to be honest. I'm still using it and the
css I use

Edit download CSS on dreamweaver MX2004

I have a question,
I downloaded a CSS modele on the web. (with java script)
In my factory they have dreamweaver MX2004
The problem, the visualisation (in création mode) to edit the CSS is not good. Some data not appear on the screen, then it's impossible to modify this data.
I'd test oder CSS (with java script) the probleme is the same.

I renamed some styles in a remote style and was hoping to
then have
those class names be updated automatically on all affected
pages.
With only one page and the style open, It didn't seem to
happen;
Would it have worked if all the pages were open ?

To affect Frame one by a button in frame two you are going to
have to reload
the whole frameset, which could cause you problems. If the
top frameset is
only to hold this link then there is little point in using it
over having
all the code on the same page and controlling it via CSS as
you have.

Templates tables and css ?

It's been a couple years since I really worked on a new site.
I have DW
MX2004. My last site used templates which worked fine for me.
Are
templates still widely use...or has css design more or less
replaced them ?
Also...in css design...are tables used much anymore...and if
not...can you
do pretty much the same in css as you can in table layout ?
Can anyone post a few links that discuss table vs. css deign,
etc ?
From a code/search engine stand point...is there a difference
between divs
and the table tag ?

There are some things which are exceptionally easy to do with
tables, that
are exceptionally difficult to do with CSS. I believe that a
pragmatic
developer will keep both methods at the ready in their
toolkit.

New to this forum and new to Dreamweaver
MX2004……so please be gentle.
I am in the process of teaching myself to use Dreamweaver
MX2004 with a view to producing a website to display a range of my
photographic work and possibly selling some images.
I need to produce a very simple site consisting of a home
page, a biography page, a contact page and a gallery. I want to
have a black background with white text on each page.
I have read about CSS and Templates. Is it best to define the
look/appearance i.e. font/text colour/background colour of each
page using CSS or a Template ? Any advice would be much

using Templates. Build the layout of the page using HTML.
Each of these
has a separate function and a separate purpose.

Upgrading from MX2004 to CS5

I bought Master Suite CS5 a while ago and love/use many parts of it but have not yet switched to the CS5 replacement for Dreamweaver MX2004 and this is despite that older Dreamweaver tool being probably the software product I use most often and on most days for event updates etc.
As it really is time I switched and have some time now I can use to retrain myself a first numpties question - is there a way you can configure the screen layout etc., to look like, or even vagulely like, the old easy to use MX2004 screen?
I ask as I find the new (to me) screen layout in the CS5 version clunky with few of the tools I use most conveniently visible unlike, for example the excellent set in Photoshop. I am sure this question would have been asked when Adobe took over from Macromedia but I must be putting the wrong words into search as I can't find any answers on easing the path from Macromedia style Dreamweaver to the new Adobe screen layouts. The Adobe training videos don't seem to help much on this topic either but I am rewatching them again.

First of all, I think you'll get used to it. I went from MX to CS3 and it really didn't feel all that different. I generally work in "split" view. CS 5, I think, introduced an horizontal "split" view and I prefer the vertical. Under "View" you can choose a vertical split.
One thing I didn't like in the upgrade from CS3 to CS5.5 (which I use presently) is the panels for CSS styles, Files, Assets and so on are all the way over to the right hand side of one's screen. There's no real way to fix that, so I have to hide the application a little more to get to certain things. But those panels disappear when the focus is off Dreamweaver and on to something else.
Fact is, HTML and CSS code is what it is and you should be mainly focused on that. I do like hte Live View mode and the Live Code mode of CS 5.5—it is a quicker way to check my work than opening a browser (but I still do final checks in browsers). So the learning curve is not extreme.
One thing you should do is hang on to MX. MX will do inline coding styles for HTML emails and CS 3 and above won't, preferring either an inline style sheet or a separate style sheet over the inline styles you would need for an email.

Dreamweaver cs4 and css

I was using Dreamweaver MX2004 befor and now am trying to use Dreamweaver CS4. and not very familiar with it
My question is:
Is there is a parameter or option that I hsve to set in the Dreamweaver preferences so that I can modify attributes
to text without having to create a CSS rule? Because actualy, everytime I want to modify the appearance of text I am asked to create a new CSS

I'm afraid that you will have to tough this one out and learn some CSS. There is no way to retrograde DWCS4 so that it works like a version that is 4 years older.
Once you spend a few minutes on this task, you'll wonder what all the angst was about. It's really very simple. And you will have to get beyond the old (and BAD) habit of styling your content using the Property inspector....

That says quite a bit. You get what you pay for, including
personal support.
Our tools are intended for non-coding professional web
designers and
developers who feel that (in this case) $60 is worth the time
saved and a
fair price to pay for a stable product that fits their needs
- or for
someone who simply likes what they see. In other words, the
kind of good
people who make putting up with the crooks and pirates a
tolerable
experience.

Estoy trabajando en un proyecto que se basa en una plantilla y desde un momento cuando quiero hacer un archivo nuevo a partir de la plantilla me aparece el mensaje "La realizacion de est cambio puede exigir el cambio del codigo bloqueado por una plantilla o un traductor. Se omitira el cambio"
y no puedo hacer nada
He realizado varias pàginas basadas en esa plantilla sin problemas y si modifico alguna de ellas tampoco tengo problemas, el problema surge cuando quiero hacer una pàgina nueva

[CSS+DW] Mas CSS

Hola,
Me he descargado una plantilla web CSS para practicar un poco
y ver como
funciona cada cosa y resulta que en la vista de diseño
de DW se ve todo
descojonado, en cambio al previsualizar la publicación
en explorer se ve
correctamente la web. ¿hay alguna forma de ver la web en
la vista de diseño
de DW tal y como se muestra en Explorer? es que sino es un
coñazo a la hora
de maquetar.

El motor de DW no es tan robusto como para lograr lo que
desea: siempre
habrá un par de cosas que no corren bien. Sin embargo,
DW es muy bueno
interpetando CSS que no tienen arandelas extrañas, un
CSS más limpio y
puntual (como debe ser) de modo que si las plantillas le
están mostrando
problemas puede que no sean las más acertadas.
No sé qué OS tenga pero en Mac he visto este par de
herramientas que le
pueden servir mucho para descubrir más sobre CSS y ver
el potencial:

Pero la mejor escuela está en ver el código de
otros porque descifrar
plantillas puede ser agotador. Por otro lado, la editorial
Sitepoint
tiene un par de libros bien interesantes del tema, este por

impresos está este curso muy interesante en HTML para

Layers CSS

I'm new to using layers/CSS in DW MX2004
I read a chapter in
Ten Ton Dreamweaver which stated that when a new layer is
created, the Layer ID should also show up as a CSS style, which
could then be exported to create an external style sheet.
However, in my testing, the CSS styles are not being created
for the Layer IDs.
Thanks for any help and direction...
This page looks bad because I could not get the background
color (white) on the parent layer to show. I also wanted the
1200x1200 table to be a layer, but couldn't get the BG image to
show. Any help on these would also be appreciated.

You are using DMX2004, and the statement you post is for DW8.

I'm not really sure what you are describing here. But I don't
agree with
your approach of having everything n layers. This is sure to
cause you
