DW Pop-Up Menu Blocked

Hi ... I'm working on a website ... created a header w/
navigation in PS and used Fireworks to do the drop down / pop-up
menus. Things were working fine until I added some Javascript to
the page for a photo slide show. The photos appear on the left
column just below the top nav and when using IE - the menu drops
down BEHIND the photos ... in Firefox the menu drops down over the
top of the photos. Does anyone know a fix / work around for this so
the menu will also drop over the top of the photos when using IE?

Scrap it. Please. The FW8 menus were better than their
predecessors' but

The spry pop-up menu I built in Adobe Dreamweaver worked fine in my old Firefox, I updated Firefox today and the menu no longer works--despite disabling the pop-up blocker in Firefox preferences...what's the problem??? I need the menu to work!!!

I built a new pop-up menu for my website using Spry in Adobe Dreamweaver. Because of some differences in .HTML and .XHTML
it took me days to get it right. I tested every variation in Firefox until it worked perfectly. Today, I installed the newest version of Firefox and now the pop-up no longer works. I changed the preferences in Firefox to disable to pop-up blocker and it STILL DOESN'T WORK...although an older style of pop-up menu (menu machine) which is no longer supported by Adobe, DOES WORK.
HELP!!! THIS IS IMPORTANT.

OP is using CS3 and the menu blog is talking about the menus
in earlier
versions of FW, so *most* of the points made in the blog
don't apply.
That's not to say that using CS3 pop-up menus is a *good*
thing....

Pop-up blocker: why is the "show the blocked pop-up" menu missing in the options?

There used to be the "show the blocked pop-up" menu item, whenever a pop-up is blocked by the pop-up blocker, I cannot see that menu these days.
Even in the pop-up blocker help entry, the menu item is in parentheses. Does it mean that sometimes the item would show up and sometimes don't?
What happened to this feature? I really loved this one, and it was one of the main reasons I started to use Firefox instead of IE.
Is there any way to enable this in about:config or something?

Thanks for your reply to this question. I believe that "show the blocked pop-up" ''was'' an option in FireFox's built-in popup blocker. As the OP mentioned, it is listed parenthetically on the [[Pop-Up Blocker Help Page|Pop-Up Blocker Help Page]]. Also, I don't run much in the way of add-ons and extensions, and no extensions were disabled when I updated this morning, but nonetheless the option seems to have disappeared. Since this problem doesn't have many "me toos," maybe it only happens under specific circumstances?

TS3147 My printer was no longer being detected, so I uninstalled it and when I went to reinstall it I discovered that I no longer have a printer pop up menu to select my printer.

I had a power failure and then began getting a message that the printer (Canon Pixma 610) was not detected. So, I unplugged it from the computer, restarted the computer and no change. The printer was still showing as the default printer, but not being detected. So I deleted the printer and then tried to reinstall it. However, when I clicked on the + sign to reinstall nothing came up. The screen was blank with no printer choices. I went to the Canon website to try and download the driver and received this message: There is no driver for the OS Version you selected. The driver may be included in your OS or you may not need a driver. I would appreciate any help...

As Greg stated, the Canon support person is simply referring to what they see on the web and knosw nothing about Mac's. The reality is that the v10.8 driver will work on 10.9. You just may need to get past Gatekeeper to install it. So here is a link to the v10.8 driver. TO ADD A CUSTOM ENTRY IN RIGHT CLICK POP UP MENU IN ORACLE HRMS FLEX FIELDS

We are building a custom help for Oracle HRMS. For this I need to add a custom Help entry in the right click pop up menu. I did this by adding the code APP_POPUP.INSTANTIATE('POPUP10','Custom Help',TRUE,'LINE') in the APPCORE lib. After this change the right click menu shows the new entry 'Custom Help' when user right clicks in any of the form but the new entry Custom Help' doesn't show up when I right click in flexfields. I am sure I need to do some thing else for flex fields.. Does any one have any idea on this ?

You have to refer to the Current Form, Current Block , Current Item so that the menu appears only in the form where you want to see.

Using a pop up menu to assign selections to a number

Hello,
I'm trying to setup a bonus calculator based on a pop up menu box selection. The pop up menu box contains 3 different job levels. I wanted to assign each job level to a number. Then I have a different formula using that result in its selection of data. What would be the best route to go about this? I thought an if statement but not having much luck. =IF(C9='Restaurant','1',=Else(C9='Market','2',=Else(C9='Region','3')))
Cell C9 is my pop up menu with selections of Restaurant, Market, Region

If you have only three possible values then a nested IF statement can do the job:
=IF(C9="Restaurant",1,IF(C9="Market",2,3))
Not there is no explicit "else" in the syntax. The "else is implied.
=IF(<expression>,<value displayed if the expression is true>, <value displayed if expression is not true, i.e. the "else">)
If you have more than three possible values, then a lookup table will be more practical.

Import settings pop up menu resize handle missing

In the import window the pop up menu for import settings has the right side blocked and there is no way to resize it.

Do you mean this menu?
What do you mean by "right side blocked"? Is it off the screen?
If that is the case, it might be a problem of corrupted user preferences.
Remove the Aperture's user preferences from the User Library as described here:

Note:Your User Library is hidden by default in 10.7.x or later - to open it in a Finder window use the "Go" menu from the Finder's main menu bar.
Quit Aperture, if it is running. Log off and on again.
Open the user library by using the Finder's "Go > Go to Folder" menu and hold down the options-key, until "Library" appears in the drop down menu. Select it.
In the widow that will open, scroll down to "Preferences"
From the "Preferences" folder remove "com.apple.Aperture.plist".
Then try to launch Aperture again.
But deleting the "Preferences" file will cause Aperture to forget the preferences settings. Be prepared to have to reset all options you set using the Aperture Preferences panel.

Strange Navigation Issues After Using Pop-up Menu

I have a Blu-ray project I'm working on. It's 1920x1080 resolution.
I have a main menu and then seven sub-menus as chapter-selection menus for three different videos.
The Main Menu has four buttons. Button one is a highlights video, button two takes the user to the first of three chapter-selection menus for the first video. Button three takes the user to the first of two chapter-selection menus for the second video and button four takes the user to the first of two chapter-selection menus for the third video. I have transitions from the main menu to each of the three chapter-selection menus and back from any of the seven chapter-selection menus to the main menu.
I also have a pop-up menu with the same four buttons on it as the main menu, except that the top button takes you to the main menu rather than playing the highlights video.
The problem I have is that all of the navagition works fine when moving around the menus, unless you open the pop-up menu during a video and navigate to one of the chapter-selection menus. When you do this, it works. It goes to the first page of the chapter-selection menu for any of the three videos, but if you then go to the main menu from there (each chapter-selection menu has a "back to main menu" button on it), it will play the transition, but then jump you to one of the chapter-selection menus for the video who's chapter-selection menu you were just on.
For example: If I play the highlights video and while it's playing I open the pop-up menu and choose Video 3, it will take me to the first chapter-selection menu for Video 3. If, once that menu comes up, I then scroll down to the "Back to Main Menu" button on that page and choose it, the transition from that menu to the Main Menu will play, but after it finishes, the Blu-ray will jump to the last chapter-selection menu page for Video 3. If I then navigate back to menu page 1 of the chapter-selection menus for Video 3 and choose the exact same "Back to Main Menu" button, the transition will play again and this time the Main Menu will open up.
The links for all of the menu buttons are correct, I've check them numerous times. It just seems that they get screwed up after you've navigated somewhere from the pop-up menu.
Sorry this is so long, but I wanted to try to explain it as best as possible.

Hey Shark. I read your explanation of what's happening, but I am not sure why you are having that weird navigation issue. There are a lot of weird anomalies that happen with Encore authored blu-rays, and things that just don't work that really should. For the price, it does the job, but there are limitations.
Last year when I started using it for blu-ray authoring, there were non-stop road blocks and things to overcome.

From the Toolbox, select the Paint bucket tool
In the Paint bucket options at the top, change from "Foreground" to "Pattern".
Click on the Pattern block to the right and the Pattern dialog will pop up.

POP UP MENU NO LONGER UNDER SAFARI

I need help with finding how to unblock the pop up menu. Since I upgraded my Safari system yesterday I no longer have anything to check under the Safari pull down menu. Pop Up menu - Oracle Forms

Hi there,
I am stuck with a pop up menu, not displaying correctly the columns, when it launches the designated report - via oracle forms and is there any way to ensure that the items displayed on the form are displayed the same way in a report through the pop up menu?
Example :
ets say on the screen(oracle forms) if you see "Name, place, animal, thing" and when you click on block report all(block report all is the pop up menu on my form), I am seeing "place,animal,thing,name" as opposed to "Name, place, animal, thing" . Is there any way to ensure consistency.

Sorry, but i didn't get your requirement? What is "Name, place, animal, thing" is this the order of items shown in your form, or is it the order of records queried into your form?
And what is the thing you want get the same sorting for. Is it the same set of data to be displayed in the report. If its for sorting data, you will have to provide an ORDER BY both on your forms-block and your reports-query.

Spry Pop up Menu

Setting up a pop up menu using spry and each time I try to load a child under the original menu, Dreamweaver hangs up. I am using CS3 and running Snow Leopard. Anyone know of potential conflicts/problems?

Using COUNTIF on time values in pop-up menu (employee schedule template)

I have modified the Numbers employee schedule template to my liking and it works very well. I would like to add a column to the beginning which shows, at a glance, how many people I have scheduled for AM shifts and PM shifts on a given day. My AM shifts start at 9:00 AM and my PM shifts end at 6:30 or 8:30 PM.
So I thought I could use COUNTIF, but after I set the array, I cannot get the condition right to return anything except "0". How do you make it detect the appropriate times? The times in each cell for In and Out times are selected using a pop-up menu, just like the template.
Here is what I tried: =COUNTIF(E3:AE3,"9:00 AM")
What should the condition be to return a proper count?

You shouldn't feel badly about having trouble with this template. It is a rather tricky one. The values in the Pop-Up menus are Date/Time values. That is to say, they have year, month, day, hour and minute components, even if only the hours and minutes are displayed. So if you only compare to the hours and minutes, you will never get a match.
I don't know if you have experienced this yet, but when you changed the Pop-Up menu content, you probably entered the current year, month and day unknowingly and will have trouble doing math against the Pop-Up content that was originally in the template.
My suggestion in your case would be to convert the time references to decimal hours before doing a comparison. For instance, if the time you wish to compare to is in cell C4, you could extract the decimal hours with =HOUR(C4)+MINUTE(C4)/60
Remember that the hours will reflect a 24-hour day, so times in the afternoon will run from 12.0 to 23.99...
Then after converting to decimal, instead of using "9:00 AM" for the COUNTIF criteria, use 9.
There are probably ways to do this using the Duration format as well, but I prefer the decimal hours.
