DW v8 Won't Let Me "Put" Files

I have just upgraded from an earlier version of Dreamweaver
to v8, along with switching from Windows PC to Mac OSX.
In my previous version, I had no trouble clicking the
'up-down' arrows to 'put' files onto my remote server via ftp. I
have set up the server coordinates in the new version, and
Dreamweaver confirms that the server is connected. But when I go to
"put" the file, all the menu choices are dimmed out.
Apparently there is something else I need to do re:
establishing permissions or.... something. I don't know what, and
my brief forays into the "help" menus haven't been (any help, that
is). So I thought maybe I'd post here and see if there are an
suggestions...??

I have a Lenovo USB external hard drive. I want to put files on it, but my Macbook air will not allow it. I am not sure what the problem is. Please help!

Apple has a handy search function on their web page, so you can go to the upper right searchbox on most pages and type in what you need. Just typing in "format hard drive" gave me this result.

Macbook Pro won't let me move files to HD without authentication. Also when I try to move files from the HD to the desk it just copies them.

My 2013 Macbook Pro running Mavericks 10.9.5 won't let me move files to the HD without authentication. So I have to keep putting my password in. Mac won't let me move files into a folder bc it THINKS there are duplicate files - but they're not. There are hundreds of what it thinks are duplicates. How can I get it to let me put them all into a folder and create unique names? If I do one file at a time, it gives me the option to keep both files. But not when I am moving hundreds at a time.

A reply to an old problem, but I couldn't find this solution anywhere. I had the same problem when I moved my iTunes library to an external drive. As Apple recommends, I used File > Library > Organize Library > Consolidate Files to copy my music files from my overstuffed hard drive to the external drive. Copying went fine for a while, adding about two-thirds of my files to the new drive without incident. Then I got the big stop sign with the error message: "Copying files failed. The disk could not be read from or written to."
This turned out to have nothing to do with either the hard drive or the external disk. I had a bad file in my music library that was shutting down the consolidation process. Unfortunately the error message says nothing about which file may be the culprit. All I could think to do was to go back to my original library in iTunes and sort by Artist, select all cuts with artists beginning with A, right click and select "Consolidate Files". Then do the same with B artists, etc. Proceeding this way, files resumed copying but when I got to the "S" selections, the consolidate process failed again. Then I selected smaller and smaller batches until the problem file was identified. Removed it from my library and then Consolidate worked fine through the rest of the library. Problem solved.
I spent several days working through this; hope I can save someone else the time.

I need help, whenever i try to transfer my music on to my iPod, for itunes, it won't let me put it on my iPod.

Okay, I see.
That's most likely because you are automatically syncing your iPod.
If you click on your iPod in the Source List of iTunes, and go to the "Music" tab, you are probably selected for "Sync", and either selected playlists, or all songs.
On the Syncing optoin, you cannot drag files to your iPod without setting up your iPod for manually managing, perhaps just temporarily.

Apple says that the Mac was supposed to be erased and taken back to the most recent version of OS X with which it shipped. You should not have any of the previous owner's apps. That violates the Terms of Use for Mac App Store apps.

You really should change both the wireless network name and password to avoid potential conflicts with the old and new settings.
Suggest you give that a try.

Acrobat/adobe won't let me convert files

It keeps telling me I have to buy the program. I pay for the Cloud on a monthly subscription and I really need to get this file converted so I can make changes for a meeting tomorrow!

I am logged in and am registered. It will simply not let me convert most PDF's to word, whether I open it with adobe, acrobat or pro 11. When I download documents from the school library, I can convert them, anything else I can't. And I really need to. What else can I try?

When you close Adobe Acrobat and launch it again if this is not registered yet.
It will ask you to either use serial number or you may see option subscribe .
You can choose subscribe or register and use your Adobe Id (email id registered with Adobe). As you said you have already purchased subscription then you should be able to activate the subscription the moment you
login with your Adobe id.

The Flash Disk must be NTSF formatted. Writing to NTFS requires 3rd party drivers (Tuxera, Paragon). Reading from NTFS however does not require these. So install NTFS drivers, or format the drive in FAT32 from Disk Utility.

I have just installed itunes, and i purchased an application from the app store.
Problem is, it won't let me put it onto my ipod touch!
Any suggestions?

What happens when you try? Is the App compatible with your version of iPod Touch? Compatible with your version of the iOS.

IPod Touch 5th gen won't let me put songs on it?

Soo I bought a new iPod the other day and I tried downloading my purchased songs onto it from the iTunes on it and it said they were downloading....but when I go to my music nothing is there. I have tried doing it at least five times and nothing shows up. It also won't let me put songs from my iTunes on the computer on it. It just doesn't show up on my iPod. When I go on iTunes and plug in my iPod it says I have like over 400 songs on it...but like I said, when I go to music on my iPod...there's nothing. Has this happened to anyone else? Can anyone help?

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Unsync all music and resync
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: How to back up
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.
