DW8.02 bugs - found the problem, it's safari

Ok, I have to appologize for my rant about Dreamweaver 8.02
killing my apps.
It actually does all work fine just not using the Safari
Browser on Mac. Firefox works perfectly.
Safari cannot deal with Dreamweaver's new code.

OK, but that shouldn't affect Safari at all, since that's all
server-side
code.
I think the full story is that DW updated some code that
wasn't communicated
to all of the extension developers.
As such, a lot of extensions weren't compatible with what DW
was doing.
In the end, this is just another argument to not depend on
some other
software writing your code for you ;o)

Millions of people got off work & turned on there computers recently to discover that Firefox is not playing any videos or flash content. Just like me, millions of people are randomly searching the internet in a futile & frustrating attempt at answers. Unfortunately, many of those people will simply stop using firefox & deem it a glitchy, unreliable browser.
This happened to me a couple days ago. I started up my computer & got a pop-up from Adobe saying that I need to update my flash player to 11.3.300.262. I've always thought of adobe as being a reliable software company, so I clicked on it with confidence that things will be working even smoother. To my horror, I relalized that right after the update, my main browser, firefox was destroyed. Then I went on the frustrating process of uninstalling, re-installing, running virus scan, researching the internet like a lost child. I said to myself, "that's why I hate updating stuff, because updates always seem to change stuff you don't want it to change & there always seems to be a problem with the updates." I usualy update software months after it releases, because microsoft & all the other software companies always seem not to test there stuff properly before releasing them. Then we have to look at a glitchy computer until the next update fixes it. Well, that is my rant. Now let me discuss the problem I found.
Problem:
What I did was, go into my firefox extentions menu & I disabled the 11.3.300.262 & I re-enabled the previous flash player. After that, everything worked perfect again. Then a today (a week later), I turned on my computer & my firefox wasn't playing any videos or flash content again. I went into my firefox extenions menu again, & I discovered that my old flash player had been deleted, & this new glitchy 11.3.300.262 had been enabled. Why did adobe feel the need to into my computer & automaticly delete & update my flash player. Now it doesn't work. THIS IS REALY FRUSTRATING!
The Issue I discovered:
"RealPlayer" is the most popular video program & it is installed on millions of computers. For some strange reason Firefox does not want its users to use Real Player. Specifically the RealPlayer Browser Record Plugin 15.0.2. I also discovered that my Browser Record Plugin 15.0.2 was automatically disabled when the Adobe 11.3.300.262 was automatically updated also.
- Maybe this could be because of some copyright conspiracy to keep people from downloading videos from the web.
- Maybe firefox wants people to use there download add-on instead of RealPlayers downloader.
I don't know what ther reason is. But what I do know is Nobody is going to delete there RealPlayer from there computer just to use FireFox. We can simply use Chrome or Internet explorer. I took the advise from Adobe & disabled the FireFox RealPlayer Extention. I also went into my RealPlayer preferences options, But there was no option to disable download recording from FireFox. BECAUSE I ALREADY DISABLED THE ADD-ON in FireFoxes menu.
Solution:
Step 1: Adobe needs to update all the computers with the previous flash player. That way we can choose to enable the previous flash player in our FireFox. or wait until a new update fixes the problem with firefox.
Step 2: Adobe & FireFox need to get together & go back to the drawing board. They need to create a update that actually works on computers that have Real Player installed on them. I don't care which company does the update. All I care about is if it works. Thank You.
Oh yea, Im running FireFox 13.0.1, Windows 7, HP computer, Real Player is up to date.

I was able to duplicate this issue on my Windows 7 laptop as follows:
     1) Completely uninstall FlashPlayer (using your tool) as well as Mozilla Firefox and Mozilla Maintenance Service (used Windows 7 - uninstall from Control Panel). Please note that I checked the box that said "Remove my Firefox personal data and customizations" to ensure that Firefox was completely gone from my laptop.
     2) I then went out to the Firefox website and downloaded the "Firefox Setup 13.0.1.exe" app to my laptop. I ran this app to install Firefox.
     3) I then went to the following website http://www.ishmael.org.uk/karaoke02.php as I know that this URL uses Flash Player (obviously you can go to any URL that uses Flash Player - I'm just letting you know which one I used). I then clicked on the icon on this page to install Flash Player.
Once the install was completed, the URL stops responding and appears to be locked up (although it will occassionally hiccup and display portions of the page and then lock up again). You will eventually get a pop-up notice from Firefox that has the header "Warning: Unresponsive script" and says the following:
     A script on this page may be busy or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now, or you can continue to to see of the script will complete. Script: chrome://browser/content/browser.js:6551
Selecting "Stop script" will get Firefox working until you hit another page that uses Flash Player.
To ensure that the above URL is not the culprit, I used one from your website http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/find-version-flash-player.html and had the same results.

Should I pay the $245 for support? I ask because every time I have they could not fix the problem, I found the problem on my own.

I ask because every time I did call they could not fix the problem, as in I could not send mail, I was told it was my Internet, then they tell me it is my computer. After spending many many hours on the phone with Apple, I was told I had to reload my hard drive. Which by the way takes a lot more then a few hours. The next day I found I still had the same problem. I could not send mail... I found the problem my self// I didn't have a mail box set up to send mail. How sample that was. Then the next time if I wanted to empty trash I had to turn off the computer then reset to do so. When I called tech support she tells me that is normal and they had to do the same thing every time. Well she is wrong in that if you use "empty securely" and not the one that just says empty trash then you do not have to reset or turn off your computer.... So I ask what am I paying $245.00 for? I am sure I will need support at some time, and at least it does give me someone to talk to.

FYI - there has not been a name brand consumer personal computer actually manufactered in the USA in years. Lenovo, Dell, HP, Acer, Apple, Samsung,... - you name it they are ALL made in China or Tiawan. Often many of those brands are being assembled by the same Chinese company in the exact same factory, pulling parts (hard drives, displays, RAM, etc) from the exact same bins. Foxconn for example, which makes iPhones and iPads for Apple, also makes dozens of other makes and models of tablets, ereaders and smart phones for other companies. Like it or not, but the consumer electronic manufactering center of the world is China.
The only consumer computers actually made in the USA these days are by local custom build companies, and it has actually been that way for many years now (I think twinhead may have been one of the last with a plant in the USA - they are still around, now GammaTech, and they still do their "final assembly" in the USA but most of thier manufacturing is done in Tiawan and Malaysia).
By and large, the USA has been out of the actual consumer electronics manufacturing/assembly business for a decade or so now.

Can't read shuffle? found the problem/solution!

Apparently all the problem with my ipod shuffle was related to my USB2.0 expansion card. If anyone has this hardware: VIA Rev 5 or later USB universal Host Controller by VIA technologies. It may be the source of the problem I would encourage anyone to check which card they have a post it here when they have problems so we can come up with a list of incompatible USB devices.
My problem:
For me my computer would seem to corrupt my shuffle after a while, making it unreadable. If I restore the software to the shuffle on a Mac, it worked for a while until I plugged it back into my computer and noticed error messages such as 'i/o error' while copying songs to the ipod. After which it would never work correctly again. it would crash my computer left and right and even crashed a few Macs when it was in this state. The light would blink amber forever, it would charge and play music but never allow me to copy music to it. I would need to restore the software before my system could read it.
My solution is this:
1) Dont use expansion cards or USB hubs, plug it directly into the USB ports that came with your computer. In my case, my computer has USB1.0 built into the motherboard. The plugs for those are likely located near where you plug your PS/2 mouse or keyboard in.
2) If you try loading itunes, you probably still cant read the ipod on this port if it was corrupted (is that the right word?) like mine was.
3) Using the latest ipod updater either restore or update on the USB1.0 ports. this was my mistake before, it would fail when its plugged into the USB2.0 expansion card.
4) The ipod will then work normally you can copy songs and its like brand new as long as I dont ever plug it into the USB2.0 expansion card.
Hope this helps someone! This problem is crazy and apparently widespread.

My experience was a little bit different. The USB ports on my computer did NOT work. I have 6(!) in all; 4 in the back and 2 on top of my PC. None of them worked. (See my specs below)
Solution:
My Dell LCD monitor (2001FP) has 4 USB ports. Connecting to one of these ports works flawlessly. I believe it has to do with the ports on my motherboard not being "high power" USB ports while the ones on my monitor are powered via the monitor's power source.
I finally tried these ports after reading reports of success using powered USB hubs which is basically what my monitor is.

Invalid security certificate for my website host-they say the problem is Apple Safari and use Firefox instead

For the past few days, I keep getting an invalid security certificate in Safari whenever I select Edit My Site from my website homepage (http://annaporterartist.com), or whenever I select anything requiring a secure log in from my website host main page (FASO.com). I have contacted technical support at my website host (fineartstudioonline.com) and they say that this has been an intermittently recurring problem in Safari for years and they recommend that I use Firefox instead. As proof of this they emailed a link to an Apple Support discussion, but it was for Mac OS X Lion v 10.7.4 and Safari 5.1, even though I told them I am using Mac OS X Mountain Lion v 10.8.2 and Safari 6.0.2. I do not get this error message anywhere else on the web using Safari. I did try Firefox and it seems to work fine, but I prefer Safari and I want to know why Safari is not working as it should be. I am concerned that there is a real security problem with my website host and I need someone to explain why I am getting this error message, what it means, and if it is, in fact, a known problem with Safari or is my website host corrupted? Really tired of technical support playing pass the buck or pretending the problem does not exist.

Sync Issues with iPhone 4/4S? I think I've found the problem.

I and quite a few others here have had syncing issues with our iPhone 4, and I think I've found a solution. I use an application called iToner 2 to create my ringtones, and after deleting all my iToner 2 created ringtones, I have no more sync issues.
If you are using any type of application that is designed to work with the iPhone and iTunes, I would suggest you not use it until it gets updated to work with iTunes 10.5 and iOS5.

But the proble i face is this works if i get the connection through java code. Instead if i use Connection pool and edit the config.xml or do through admin console .This doesn't work even after setting this property. Any Help will be appreciated and it is pretty urgent.

At last...........I found the problem with my iPod Touch

Ever since the upgrade to IOS7 I've had a nightmare with syncing. It was taking up to 2 hours to sync and each time the available space on the ipod touch was getting less and less. I tried everything up to and including reset to factory settings and start from new and nothing made any difference, it would just sit there for hours saying "waiting to copy" .
At last I've worked out that IOS7 seems to have a problem with Podcasts. Since I removed all podcasts from the device the syncing is back to normal - just done 4 syncs and none of them took longer than a minute.
So if you have a problem with syncing try removing all podcasts from your device and see if it makes a difference.

I have random spam sites opening up in tabs in firefox. I can't get rid of them. I have run Malwarebytes and Spybot, but they havent found the problem. I have even tried Rkill unsuccessfully. Please Help!

Try some basic troubleshooting steps. Clear Safari, force close the app and reset the iPad.
Go to Settings>Safari>Clear History, Cookies and Data.
In order to close apps in iOS 8, you have to drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the app that you want to close and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

I am trying to pull up personal e-mail but I am getting an error message to turn off "private browsing" in settings-safari-private browsing. The problem is my Safari doesn't give me that option. What now?

I am receiving a message when going to a web site to turn off private browsing but Safari doesn't provide me the option to turn this off. As a matter of fact it doesn't show the option at all. Anyone know how to remedy this?

Tap the blue + sign in the upper right corner of the Safari toolbar to open a new tab. Then look in the lower left portion of the screen for the word "Private". Tap that to turn off private browsing.

A BUG in the KPRB JDBC driver

Hi community,
the problem I would like to present here seems to be a BUG in the KPRB (server-side) JDBC driver. To be precise, I am going to outline the platform I found the problem occurs (I haven't made any tests with the others yet). These are Oracle 8.1.6-8.1.7.4 databases.
What I am trying to do is to write a Java Stored Procedure and return a nested table from it. Nothing easier than that!? The important aspect is I cannot (shouldn't) hardcode schema name in the call to the oracle.sql.ArrayDescriptor.createDescriptor() method since the Stored Procedure and the accompanied nested table (SQL) type can be loaded into arbitrary schema. Thus, my code looks like:

ArrayDescriptor arrDesc = ArrayDescriptor.createDescriptor("NESTED_TABLE_TYPE_NAME",con);
You can note, NESTED_TABLE_TYPE_NAME is the nested table type I create in the same schema the Stored Procedure is loaded. What wrong with it? Actually, it works perfectly fine if You call the Stored Procedure being logged as the owner of the Procedure. The problem occurs if You grant the execute rights to other users and try to call it being logged as one of them. What happens is Oracle doesn't find the nested table type and throws an exception.
Does it mean such behavior implies a BUG? Oracle reference states that if either the PL/SQL wrapper for the Java Stored Procedure or the class itself are marked as having DEFINER privileges the call proceeds in the schema of the definer, not the caller. Actually, I tried to declare the PL/SQL wrapper as well as the class having DEFINER privileges and none of them succeded.
Then I made some investigations, and found in the Thin JDBC driver the ArrayDescriptor.createDescriptor method uses the oracle.sql.SQLName class, which in turn calls the oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleConnection.getUserName() method to obtain the missing schema name, and the latter performs select:
SELECT USER FROM DUAL
Obviously, the above returns current user, and not the current schema in the case DEFINER privileges were applied. I understand, the Thin JDBC driver is different from the KPRB driver but!!! I also monitor Library Cache (through v$sql dynamical view) while calling the Stored Procedure and what I see is very interesting ;-) The number of executions for the "SELECT USER FROM DUAL" statement increases!!!
That is why I claim the above behavior is a BUG of the KPRB driver.

Because you didn't grant access permission to other users on the NESTED_TABLE_TYPE_NAME (maybe?)Of course, I remember to grant (EXECUTE) privilege on the nested table type to other users. The reason are not synonyms also, for Oracle doesn't allow to access these types through synonyms, unfortunately.
And the applications can be tons ;-), I use it to implement regular expression functionality in the databases prior to 9i.

Actually your suggestions are the ones that i have tried. i have seen that you have tried to help others with this issue and the only one that i could find that said they found the problem said that it was an ilife update issue and it fixed it and i have no available updates. i know it has to do with something in photo stream because it happens when i create a new library and it is loading the photos but i get the message before i reach the maximum 1000 photos. so i've tried updating, new library(first backing up photos and then deleting them from iPhoto), reinstalling OSX many times, running disc utilities. I called Apple the first day i had this issue and i was the first person to call them for support with the retina display and i actually had it escalated to a senior advisor and we thought we fixed the problem but we did not. i am pretty fluent in dealing with troubleshooting these type of issues and this is the first time i'm reaching out to the community. i figured now that the retina has been out some time now that there would be an obvious answer to this issue. thanks for the quick reply.

ITunes wouldnt start on my Windows 7 64bit, I found the fault!!

My windows 7 64bit computer would not load the new iTunes 9, all downloaded and installed with no issues but it just would not fire the program up when the icon/or program from file was selected. Sorted it tho!! After hours of fiddling I have found the problem, of all things it is incompatible with the Apple program 'Bonjour Service!
Follow this and it should sort out the issue, well it did for me and takes only a few minutes and no hair loss!!
Go to start menu and click RUN (bottom RHS), in the address bar type- msconfig press return. This will open a new window, click on selective start up, click 'apply' now click on the services tab and scroll down to 'Bonjour Service' deselect this box then click 'apply' then click OK. A box will now ask you if you want to restart, click restart. Once the computer restarts it should work. I had to deselect each item in turn until iTunes worked so this took me hours, however, it should be much quicker for you!

Many thanks for your post. I've been trying for days to get this sorted and was getting well fed up with I-Tunes. Really thought i'd never get it working again. Tried un-installing it, loading older versions and they still wouldn't work.
