DW8 - My Site Database Connections are Missing

Has anyone experienced their site database connections being
lost in Dreamweaver 8? This is not isolated to one site definition,
but on all of my sites.
I cannot add a new database connection, and I cannot access
existing database connections while trying to create new
recordsets. All my existing recordsets and bindings appear in the
Application panel. When I click the + button to create a new
connection in the Databases tab, nothing happens. My sites are
fully defined with document types and testing servers defined.
Has anyone experienced this or know how to fix it? I've
searched and searched and cannot find anything about this anywhere.
Thanks in advance.

Hi!
You could try this It worked for me on all my connections.
I found a extension called SP2DBFix1.0.2.mxp
Down load here,
http://download.macromedia.com/pub/dreamweaver/extensions/SP2DBFix1.0.2.mxp
to fix a XP pro service pack2 connections.
To fix: I went to Sites/Advanced/Remove connection Scripts,
ran that removed
my connection scripts. I deleted all my connections in the
connections
folder, so make sure you copy the connection info so you can
re make them. I
then shut down Dreamweaver 8 installed the extension then
opened dreamweaver
8 made a new connection and it works. You have to run this
same routine on
every site you have setup with connection scripts sorry, but
its a bug of
some kind.
Good Luck.

  • Database entries are missing

I have multisim V9. several of the database entries are missing. Some were there before and are not there now. Could the database be corrupted? How can I restore the database? I tried to re install, several entries returned , but not all. Whole "families" are missing.

    Hi,
If you have a database where some families are missing while others are available, this indicates a corrupt database.  You should reinstall but make sure you delete the Multisim install folder, the Add and Remove program utility does not remove your old corrupt database.

  • Pooled database connections are not being closed properly

We are using WLS 9.2 and Microsoft SQL Server 2005 (version 1.1 of the Microsoft JDBC driver), and we are experiencing some strange behavior with the lifecycle of the connections in our data source pools. The WLS console may report that the current capacity of a pool is 5, but the database monitoring tools report that we have more than 5 connections open. It almost seems as though connections are getting dropped somehow and WLS thinks it has closed them and created new ones, but the original connections are never actually closed in the database. Our application is the only thing connecting to the DBMS instance in question, so the connections we are seeing have definitely been created by WebLogic. Any suggestions for tracking down the source of this problem would be greatly appreciated.
    Regards,
    Sabrina

Thank you for your help. Here is our pool configuration (NOTE: Even though we're not using Oracle, we actually did create our own empty "DUAL" table to use for testing connections):
    <jdbc-connection-pool-params>
    <initial-capacity>10</initial-capacity>
    <max-capacity>10</max-capacity>
    <shrink-frequency-seconds>0</shrink-frequency-seconds>
    <test-frequency-seconds>0</test-frequency-seconds>
    <test-connections-on-reserve>true</test-connections-on-reserve>
    <test-table-name>DUAL</test-table-name>
    </jdbc-connection-pool-params>
I'm not sure exactly when the problem starts occurring because we only recently
noticed it; as far as we can tell, it's pretty random. We have seen occasional
application errors where it appears that the app cannot obtain a connection from
the pool, but I'm not sure if that issue is directly related to this particular
problem. We were careful to scale our pool size such that it should always have
enough connections, so I'm not sure how this is possible. We are running a cluster.
    Regards,
SabrinaOk, then for every server in the cluster, the server will make 10 connections.
Because you are using SQLServer, your 'test table' (that is an overloaded
field) should be set to actually define SQL that we can use for a quick test:
    <test-table-name>SQL select 1</test-table-name>
That will be quicker than selecting from any real table.
We would need more info about the problem. If you turn on
JDBC logging, we might capture the exceptions that indicate
problems with the pool, however, as configured, the pools
will have only 10 connections, and will close and replace
any that fail the test. Do you have a firewall between the
    DBMS and WebLogic?

  • When client open folder with html files to preview web site, some pictures are missing when previewed.

However all images are in "images"folder. Same images are missing when previewed in Firefox and Explorer.
    Any idea why?
    Thanks.

Are you sending this other person all of the image files in
the same relative location as they are on your local computer?
For instance, if you are sending them index.html and your
images are in a folder called images, you should be sending them a
Zip file with the following enclosed:
    index.html
    images (folder)
    image1.gif
    image2.jpeg
If you are sending this type of structure to your other
party, check the links in code view. Make sure they are relative.
If they are, on the index.html page they would look like
images/image1.gif. If it says anything like C:/ or something that
points to a local drive they you will need to make sure the image
are within the site definition and then save the files
    again.

  • Database views are missing

    Post Author: dee7231
CA Forum: Data Connectivity and SQL
We have an ODBC connection to an Oracle database.  There are 7 views that are created.  However when we try to pick the view from the table selection in crystal, we see the tables but not the views.  We have two ODBC connections, one to a test database and one to production.  the test is fine when we expand the connection we get 2 options tables, and views. In the production connection, when we expand the ODBC we just get the list of tables.  We had the same problem with test, and we fixed, but now we can't remember how we fixed it. We've compared the two connections and we can't find the difference.  I know it's something simple that we're missing, please help.Thanks. Dee7231

    Post Author: dee7231
CA Forum: Data Connectivity and SQL
Sorry should have mentioned it.  Yes we granted all access to the views, and we've gone in to SQL Plus and tested the user.  And we can see the views that way.  Testing it yesterday, we found that if we used the Oracle Server connection and connected directly to the prod database that way, we could see the views.  If we try to go in through the ODBC connection we can't.  We've taken the ODBC connection for the test DB (that's working correctly), and pointed it to the prod DB and we still can't see the views.  We deleted and recreated both ODBC connections and the test DB works and the prod DB doesn't.

  • Remote site database connection config

I am converting from FrontPage and i have developed a
completely new site with Dreamweaver 8.
In dreamweaver8 I have created a web site with a local path
for the files, My testing server uses iis on my locl machine and I
have configured the data connection dsn using a reference to the
    access database within my web.
When I "put" the files to the remote server (my ISP) the web
does not work. In the local copy it works and tests fine.

Have you setup the same DSN on your remote server?

  • I have lost track of the number of websites that do not work properly on the iPad without Adobe Flash player which is unsupported. I cannot use retail sites, billing sites and most important of all job application sites. All are missing tabs, links, info

I have lost track of the number of websites which do not work properly on my iPad. They include retail sites, billing sites and most important of all job application sites. They all seem to require Adobe Flash Player which cannot be downloaded onto an iPad. Skyfire does not solve the problem. They all load without vital parts of the site such as tabs, links and correct formatting. Any suggestions?

Most such brower/service combinations have a difficult time working with Flash-based apps and often fail completely. Flash videos are usually the most successful content these browers can handle. You can try the others apps - Puffin, iSwifter, etc - but you may find that none of them work, in which case you will not be able to use your iPad with these sites other than by using one of the various remote control solutions to take over a computer running the full Flash Player.
IMHO, any developer that built a Flash application for a billing or job application site was an idiot, but I know that's out of the control of anyone but the relevant company.

  • Entries in Database Tables are missing

    Hi Experts,
    In ERP2004,
I have 2 tables in different clients. The 2 tables have some entries in Client 000. But same entries are not there in the 2 table in the copied client 020. IS there any way that these table entries can be brought into client 020?
I am familiar with SCC1 but i donot have a transport request in Client 000. How to get these entries into target client.

    Hello
Basically depending on the type of table involved , the recommendation varies.
Just copying table entries may lead to inconsistencies etc .
so need to find out what made the table entries disapper.
If after analysis if its decided that the table entries are really required , then one way is to use R3trans to copy  data across clients.
SAP note 1942 provide the details about it
    Hope this helps

  • What can I actually to with database connections?

This may sound like an odd question, but once I define a MySQL connection in Dreamweaver, what can I actually do with it? Let me clarify what I'm doing:
I've only just found out that we can define MySQL connections when a PHP/MySQL site is defined. I'm used to administering my databases via MySequel or phpMyAdmin. Accessing databases in Dreamweaver would rock!
So now I've got a connection, I can read all my tables... but I can't seem to do anything with them. I can't add data, I can't modify data - all I can do is look at what's already there. I can click the "insert code" or the "view data" option, but they don't seem to do anything useful: The first option only pastes whatever is highlighted in my code, and the second brings up a window displaying the data.
What am I missing? Can I change the data somehow and just haven't found the option yet? Or what else can I use my database for?
For example, exporting or importing data, synchronising with another database/database host, etc?

Database connections are used to develop data driven web sites. So if you are familiar with server side scripting you can write code to make your site dynamic. In the past, DW had server behaviors that streamlined the process of creating web forms and display areas to insert, update and select from database tables, but these have been removed as the code was never quite up to current standards.

  • HELP----Inactive database connections.

I have just deployed a JDeveloper BC4J application and to my surprise, when a user enters a module, the database connections are all Inactive in the database. All my users have their own user ids. I am using Jdeveloper 9.0.3.4 (build 1247) and 10gAS on the middle tier. After running debug options, I can't see where the connection is being closed. Has anyone experienced this? I have logged a TAR and after 4 days, support is getting nowhere.

  • How many number of database connections used in a transaction

    Hi All,
We are using weblogic 8.1 with Oracle 9i both running on windows 2000. We are trying to estimate the potential resource usage in the system we are building. As part of this activity we want to find out how the database connections are used for entity beans -
If a session bean calls more than one entity beans
(each method in the entity bean doing one update) does weblogic use the same database connection for all the entity beans or does it use seperate connections ? Is such behaviour documented somewhere ?
Here the assumption is all the entity beans are linked to the same datasource.
If the (default) behaviour is to use seperate connections is there a way to make it use one connection across multiple entity beans.
    Thanks
    Kingshuk

    Hi Bodapati,
Sorry for the delay in replying to this.
There is optimization, which will use the XA
connections from the pool. Can you tell me what your
observations are? I may be able to see if we can tune it.From our tests the XA driver too appear to make use of one connection only for the life of the transaction. There is a good document here explaining how it is ensured that only one connection is used - http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs81/oracle/trxjdbcx.html#1083132
Quoting from the above URL :
When a thread attempts to use a connection, the XA jDriver calls xa_open (and xa_start) to create the connection and associate it with the thread. After the database connection is created, the connection remains associated with the thread; the driver does not call xa_close. When the thread subsequently needs a database connection, it uses the same database connection associated with it, even though it appears to get and return a connection from the JDBC connection pool
I am not sure why you say the connections will be
blocked. One connection will be blocked only if you are > using non-XA driver to setup the pool, until the
transaction commits. For XA there is no need to reserve
the same connection for the transaction.Probably my understanding on this is incorrect and I need to read up. I was under the impression that - once a transaction begins, each connection used within that transaction, is enlisted as a part of that transaction and can not be used by in another transaction until the transaction commits or rollsback.
    Thanks

  • Configuring the LiveCycle ES database connectivity

    Hi,
I need to install LiveCycle ES to a Websphere application server. Do I need to manually configure the database connectivity? In the manual "Preparing to install livecycle ES" it is said:
"All configurations required for database connectivity are discussed in Installing and Deploying LiveCycle ES
    for WebSphere at www.adobe.com/go/learn_lc_installWebSphere."
So, it seems a prepare task and we are told to read manual procedures. Is this really need to be accomplish manually?
    Thank you

    Jayan,
I believe that steps are to be made previous to the installation of LiveCycle, rigth? After that I will be able to install LC using the turnkey option?
Can you point me to a documentation abording that step: "manually copy the JDBC driver JAR file to all the WebSphere nodes and update the respective WebSphere environment variable's value with the full path to the JAR file". Or can you detail it more?
    Thank you

  • When using the Database Connectivity Toolset, reads and writes with long binary fields are incompatible.

I am trying to write LabVIEW Variants to long binary fields in a .mdb file using the Database Connectivity Toolset. I get errors when trying to convert the field back to a variant after reading it back from the database.
I next tried flattening the variant before writing it and ultimately wound up doing the following experiments:
    1) If I use DB Tools Insert Data to write an ordinary string and read it back using a DB Tools Select Data, the string is converted from ASCII to Unicode.
    2) If I use DB Tools Create Parameterized Query to do an INSERT INTO or an UPDATE operation, specifying that the data is BINARY, then read it back using a DB Tools Select Data,
the length of the string is prepended to the string itself as a big-endian four-byte integer.
I can't think of any way to do a parameterized read, although the mechanism exists to return data via parameters.
Presuming that this same problem affects Variants when they are written to the database and read back, I could see why I get an error. At least with flattened strings I have the option of discarding the length bytes from the beginning of the string.
    Am I missing something here?

    David,
You've missed the point. When a data item is flattened to a string, the first four bytes of the string are expected to be the total length of the string in big-endian binary format. What is happening here is that preceding this four-byte length code is another copy of the same four bytes. If an ordinary string, "abcdefg" is used in place of the flattened data item, it will come back as <00><00><00><07>abcdefg. Here I've used to represent a byte in hexadecimal notation. This problem has nothing to do with flattening and unflattening data items. It has only to do with the data channel consisting of writing to and reading from the database.
I am attaching three files that you can use to demonstrate the problem. The VI file c
ontains an explanation of the problem and instructions for installing and operating the demonstration.

  • Database connects but no tables are shown

    Hello
I have connected to the database on my remote server in dreamweaver 8 and it says its connected successfully, but when I open the tree or try to make a recordset no tables are show and when I try it in advanced this error appears:
    "Error calling GetTables:

correponds to you MySQL server version for the right syntax to use

    maillist being my database name
I'm not very good at dynamics yet so don't really understand the SQL syntax
This is what dreamweaver connection made me:
    <?php

    # Type="MYSQL"
    # HTTP="true"
    $hostname_blog = "localhost";
    $database_blog = "servername"
    $username_blog ="servername"
    $password_blog ="password"
    $blog = mysql_pconnect ($hostname_blog, $username_blog, $password_blog or trigger_error (mysql_error (), E_USER_ERROR);
    ?>
Don't know if any of this makes sence to you.
    Please Help!

Is there any way you can check it on another computer using a different version or installation of Dreamweaver?
But, from your response, it doesn't sound like you've actually deleted the connection scripts - it's a specific command in DW. You've installed the patch so that's good, you can verify the installation under the About menu and look for the version number. Bit then here's exactly what you need to do just to cover all bases
    1.  First delete the database connection from the Databases tab which is alongside the Bindings tab and the Server Behaviors tab. You'll highlight the connection, click the minus sign, and confirm. This will delete the connections folder and then file within.
    2.  From the Commands menu, find Connection Scripts > Delete Connection Scripts.(I'm guessing from memory, if it isn't the Commands menu, try the Site menu) 3.  Exit and restart DW 4.  Define the database connection again, use the same info as before, server, DB name, etc. Make sure you name the connection name as before as any files you have that use the connection will be looking for it under that name. Test the connection to make sure it can once again establish the connection.
That should work. I've had to do this several times before and not just in DW 8. Sometimes you don't have to go through all the steps exactly, but then again sometimes you have to repeat them once or twice.
