DW8 not holding FTP details on Windows 7?

I just reinstalled DW8 onto a windows 7 machine after replacing a dead hard drive, and now it won't hold onto any of the FTP details once I close out of DW and reopen it. I'm assuming it's keeping these criteria in the registry.. or would normally. Anyone see this before and know how to fix it???

You need the 8.0.2 update which addresses this problem.

That said, 8 was released way before Win7. If you can't upgrade to CS6, you might need to run DW8 in XP mode.

Hi Guys,
I have a problem with dreamweaver at the moment. for some
reason its not remembering the user and pass in the FTP details of
each site. i looked through a couple of threads, and deleted that
temp file that was mentioned, but that didnt sort the problem.
i have windows vista home premium installed. i dont think
this is the problem because when i installed dreamweaver after i

Example is not opened from detailed help window

I tried to open an example related the "Case Structure" in the "Detailed Help" window but it didn't work (I clicked on the "Open example" in the "Detailed Help" window. Of course I could open the examples database under "Help" but it will take time to find a specific example. Thanks.

Have you checked the list of services? This question has been asked before. When LabVIEW gets installed there's like a thousand services that also get installed. I don't recall which service is needed in order to open the examples. Most start with "National Instruments". In earlier versions it was the NI Service Locator that was needed. Another thing to check is to see if the service are being blocked by your firewall. That's another common reason.

I right click on link, click, open in new window, then nothing happens. Or, windows within a page will not open, for example, on gmail, when I click "details" the window will not open.

When I right click on a hot link, then click, open in a new window, a window will not open. Alternatively, I can click, open in a new tab, and a new tab will open. Additionally, if I'm at a website with a chat feature, the chat window will not open, or, as another example, if I'm at gmail, and I click "details", the window that opens giving the summary of when your account has been opened and the IP addresses it's been accessed from, will not open.
I have on the computer, Aurora too. I doubt that it's a source of the problem, but I had to throw that into the mix. For clarification, this problem is happening while using the Firefox browser.

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Operation number not holding in Operation details screen for WM6.2

Hi Experts,
I have added custom statuses to operation object in WM6.2. When I am editing the operation,Operation number is displaying in operation details screen header.But when trying to execute custom statuses, the operation number is not holding in Operation tile view header as in the below screen snap.

Hi sravanthi,
Just make sure that when you are editing operation object for custom statuses change you are editing same object that you are seeing in operation details screen.
I think this problem is due to different/stale operation object that is being edited for when you are calling Operation Edit Transaction for change status for (custom statuses).
I recommend to check your Target for Button , Action and Edit Transaction for this (is it same operation object that is being seen on detail screen/being edited for).

Replication Monitor could not open the Detail Window

The publisher is running SQL Server 2008 R2 on a Server 2008 R2 box. The subscriber is running SQL Server 2012 on a Server
2012 box. I have tried launching the replication monitor from both servers but can't drill down into details on either instance. I have three publications and subscriptions and they all throw this error when trying to drill down into the details. I would post
a picture but am unable to do so.

From windows server 2012 and windows server 2008, Opened port 20,21,22 in firewall bidirectionally. After Establishing connection by passing credentials 230 log in successful.
ftp commands executing getting as " 425 Use Port or PASV first" , "500 Illegal PORT command".
But I could able to do windows client machines like windows 7 and windows 8 with same environment
Note : Firewall ports are opened. have tested by making firewall down to avoid filters.

Did you mean even you disable or open the related port the FTP issue still exist? I found this errors most time occur when we use the ISA firewall and the FTP configured passive
mode, if you have ISA firewall please refer the following KB to fix this issue.

Battery shows charging but stuck on 28% and does not hold charge

i am using HP DV6-6107tx, i got a new extended battery from anker which seemed to be running fine untill it discharged while i was playing watch dogs.
now my laptop wouldn't power on just on the battery, everything works fine if it is on charging, but the battery does not hold charge and my system powers off immediately on removing AC adapter. the battery shows "28% Charging" but does not increase or decrease the percentage even after hours of charging both while system is on and off.
i checked the battery in battery test from HP Support Assistant and it says that the battery status is ok, now i have tried the below methods with no luck :
power off and press power button methods.
uninstall and reinstall battery from device manager methods.
battery check from HP Assistant.
updating Bios to F.1b method.
updating the HP Support Assistant.
and all the other methods i could think of or read on HP's site.
can anyone guide me as to what is the issue here ? i don't have another machine to test my battery on, the charging lights are fine except that the light does not change color which it did on full charging the battery. i did try on 2 different adapters.
now if it were a motherboard or IC issue, would it not have said 'not charging' in windows ? in my case it says charging.
any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the HP Forums.
That you for provided such a detailed post with what you've already completed, for the issue with your battery. I will try to guide you further.
I would like to provide you further documents for troubleshooting, but you've essentially completed what I have for this issue. The only step left, would be to test the battery.
You can do this with another battery, or in another notebook. I know you mention another machine, but if you know someone who does or someone who has a compatible battery. This would test that. You could even see if a local computer shop could test it.
The reason for this, is if the battery is the problem, it's much easier and more affordable replacement. Also, you mention it being new, might have warranty.
The other possible cause to the issue you've touched on, that would be the system board. Testing the above, would just confirm if this is the problem or not. From there you could decide on what you'd like to do.
I know, there really aren't many suggestions here, but I hope this can provide you with the next step.
Let me know how things go, with the route you choose to troubleshoot.

File not reached ftp : How to handle the error

Hi,
I am doing idoc-file scenario. I need to place file on ftp server. Now if i give incorrect ftp details, the error canot be seen in SXI_MONITOR but in Adapterframework i can see the error.
Can someone please let me know how this exception can be handled. I need to send mail notification notifying such errors.

Hi Vani,
XI has 2 basic engines, the Integration Engine and Adapter Engine running inside the J2EE engine.
The reason that you can see the error in Adapter but not in SXMB_MONI is that the processing of your Integration Engine has no errors in it.
But, when the Adapter is trying to post the file into the Destination System, it errors out and so, the error in the Adapter Framework.
Errors in the Adapter Engine can also be used to trigger alerts and send email.
To create Alerts, Alert Rule, just check this blog,

It will help you in doing your entire Alert Configuration.
Next,from SP14 onwards, activation of end to end monitoring is not needed for Alerting. Refer to this note 870232 for this info.
Next, to test if your Alerts have been defined correctly, go to SE38. In the program , type RSALERTTEST and then click on EXECUTE button ( F8 ). In the next window, it will ask you for your ALERTCATEGORY. Just give the name of your ALERT CATEGORY and click EXECUTE.
If you have configured your alerts correctly, you will receive a message that tells ALERT IS GENERATED and will give the ALERT ID.
Now, go to your Run TIme workbench and then select ALERT INBOX and see if you have got the ALERT message in your ALERT INBOX.
If this is working fine, then the last step, implement the note 913858.

Changing FTP details

Hi All,
We have a site that is edited by contribute users who connect
to the site using the contribute publishing server.
We have recently changed the FTP login details on our web
server and are now trying to chage them for the contribute
connection. The Problem is this:
Whenever we try to administer the site it tells us that the
ftp details are wrong and that we should check them however the
system will not let us administer the site to change the details!
Catch 22.
Does anyone know how to edit a site that is managed by the
publishing server but that contains invalid ftp details?
We could of course delete the site and rebuild the connection
but this situation has arisen before and I'd like to get to the
bottom of how to manage it.

so have not deleted the file Bridge4.plist file that you mentioned. I have had a quick look for it but could not locate it - where would it be?
This file is in the User Library preferences folder.
Quit Bridge. Navigate to your user account (your name) / library / preferences and inhere look for the file called: "com.adobe.bridge4.plist" (Bridge that comes with CS5 is in fact version 4, PS is version 12 in CS5)
manual delete this plist file to the trash and again hold down option key while restarting Bridge. Then choose reset preferences and try again. Also try a new custom setting for your upload location.
There will be probably also a file with this previous location in it but I don't know how to alter this and also not where it is because I never used Web Gallery upload myself. But if you want to look for yourself, the possible location for this would be in the same user library but then the folder Application Support/ Adobe/ Bridge CS5 / Adobe Output Module / Media Gallery.
You could try yourself to test by using upload for webgallery and then look in this folder for latest modification date. If you did find it you can also try to temporarily remove this file to the desktop and restart Bridge to see if either the file replaces itself (like it does with the previous mentioned plist file) or not. If not check if you are able to use Webgallery at all. If not just replace the previous file from the desktop to the original location and it should be all working as before

My iCloud Photo Stream is not syncing correctly to my Windows 8.1 laptop or my Windows 7 PC.

I have been going through the forums for the last few weeks and nothing has helped. Both computers are x64 bit.
Problems I am experiencing
A. Windows 7 PC has not synced photo stream since September 25
B. Windows 8.1 laptop has not synced since a little before that.
C. I can't upload any photos (.jpegs) to the photo stream. An error pops up saying that they cann't be uploaded as they are not in a format supported by iCloud, even though they are jpegs.
D. Photos are syncing ti my ipad 3 perfectly fine, so clearly there is a problem with my computers but I am totally stumped.
I have un-installed, deleted all icloud photo stream folders, restarted and then re-installed the iCloud control panel on both computers, and it has created new folders and re-synced maybe 30 photos before it stopped again.
I have uninstalled every single Apple program on my Windows 8.1 laptop and reinstalled iTunes, iCloud and Quicktime and that didn't help.
I have toggled the Photo Stream on/off button in setting on my iphone, and that seemed to kick start the sync on my Windows 7 PC this morning, so far I've got 70 photos on my Windows 7 PC and that's where it has stopped but its a really random selection, and doesn't include the photos I took yesterday or today.
Two of my colleagues at work where my Windows 7 PC is located - their photo streams are working fine, both using ios7 and icloud control panel, however their computers are x32 bit.
I have also simply logged out and signed in again multiple times, however that doesn't do anything.
I have unticked the "read-Only" permissions on my photo icloud stream folder, but that didn't help either.
I have followed the troubleshooting from here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3989 - however that also did not help.
I have tried changing the folder path for iCloud photo stream, however that did not help either.
I tried the steps from someone who said they spoke to an Apple rep (steps copied from forum and I put them in italic) on this forum: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5381738
Anyway, the Apple rep had me sign out of iCloud CC on my PC.
Then on each iOS devices Settings/iCloud/Delete Account.
Confirmed all the warnings.
Then re-entered my iCloud id and password on the iOS device.
Things restarted and the iOS Photo Streams got loaded with the number of photos that
iCloud has.
Signed in on iCloud on the PC. It synced the same way.
Tried taking pictures on the iPhone and iPad. They synced everywhere.
So I'm back in business.
I just deleted everything on my iOS devices when I exited iCloud.
My interest is the PC syncing when I take a photo on my iPhone.
ME: Okay so these steps again refreshed the photostream on my iPhone 5. I can see that the photos I took yesterday and today have been uploaded to the photo stream as I can see them there on my device. I have also now signed back into iCloud on my Windows 7 PC and it is slowly syncing again, but just recognising the same photos it downloaded previously as per Step 3 which I did just earlier this morning.
I have also just tried uploading photos via the upload folder from my windows 7 PC, and they uploaded perfectly.
This is really, really frustrating. I've tried everything I can find on these forums but nothing has helped fix the issue 100%.
Can anyone offer something else I can try to reslove this issue?

Hi all. I can’t tell you how to solve your iCloud 3.x issues. Heck, I don’t think they’re even solvable.
But if you had a previous version of iCloud that was working correctly then I can definitely tell you how to solve the “iCloud Photo Stream is not syncing correctly to my Windows 7 PC” problem. …without even a re-boot.
Log out of iCloud 3.0 and uninstall it.
Open My Computer and then open your C:\ drive. Go to Tools/Folder Options and click on the View tab. Select the “Show hidden…” radio button and click on OK.
Open the Users folder.
Open your user folder
Open ProgramData (previously hidden folder)
Open the Apple folder – not the Apple Computer folder.
Open the Installer Cache folder
In Details view sort on Name
Open the folder for the newest entry for iCloud Control Panel 2.x – probably 2.1.2.8 dated 4/25/2013
Right click on iCloud64.msi and select Install.
When finished, the synching between iCloud and your PC will be back to working perfectly as before the 3.0 fiasco. The pictures will be synched to the same Photostream folder as before the “upgrade”. Now all you need to do is wait until Apple/Microsoft get this thing fixed and working before you try the 3.x upgrade again.
I think the iCloud 3.0 software was written by the same folks who wrote healthcare.gov with the main difference being that healthcare.gov might eventually be made to work.
For those of you who hate to go backwards, think of it as attacking to the rear. Which would you rather have, the frustration of no synching or everything working on an older version?

Does it charge?
Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Try another cable
- Look at the dock connector on the iPod. Look for abnormalities like bent or corroded contacts, cracked or broken plastic.
- Make an appointment at the Genus Bar of an Apple store.

After trying to sync, iTunes states that iPod must be restored. Restoring your iPod to factory settings is the best way to try and get it back to working order. You can use the instructions below to restore it:
How to restore iPod
Verify that you have an active Internet connection, because you may need to download new versions of the iTunes and iPod Software.
Download and install the latest version of iTunes if necessary.
Open iTunes. Connect your iPod to your computer using the USB or FireWire cable that came with your iPod.
After a few moments, your iPod will appear in the Source panel in iTunes.
Select your iPod in the Source panel. You will see information about your iPod appear in the Summary tab of the main iTunes window.
Click Restore.
If you are using a Mac, you will be asked to enter an administrator’s name and password.
A progress bar will appear on the computer screen, indicating that stage one of the restore process has begun. When this stage is done, iTunes will present one of two messages with instructions specific to the iPod model you are restoring.
Disconnect iPod and connect it to iPod Power Adapter (typically applies to older iPod models).
Leave iPod connected to computer to complete restore (typically applies newer iPod models).
During stage two of the restore process, the iPod displays an Apple logo as well as a progress bar at the bottom of the display. It is critical that the iPod remain connected to the computer or iPod power adapter during this stage.
Note: The progress bar may be difficult to see, because the backlight on the iPod display may be off.
After stage two of the restore process is complete, the iTunes Setup Assistant window will appear. It will ask you to name your iPod and choose your syncing preferences, as it did when you connected your iPod for the first time.

IOS5 Update causes Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows

I did an iPad1 IOS5 update and on the reboot could not get iTunes to recognize my iPad.
I did all the recommended troubleshooting to no avail. So I called this morning and while on hold I put my password back on my device just as before and BAM iTunes now recognizes device and is doing my restore.
So if you do a backup of your device before the update and you have it password protected, it won't recognize the device until you go through and setup a new device and put your password back to what is was before, then BAM you're good! Good Luck and hopefully you won't have to spend the day I did figuring this out.

From Firefox, can I open an FTP site in Windows Explorer?

Firefox presents a simple FTP view of files. Firefox does not support active FTP mode, or uploading. Thus, some other program must be used to navigate and work an FTP site.
Windows - Internet Explorer - provides a connection to open and view an FTP site via Windows Explorer.
Why can't Firefox do the same?
