DW8 Save before preview

Hello,
I am not new to DW, I have used MX a lot. I have just started
using DW8 this morning and it seems very pretty and it looks like a
lot of new tools will be very helpful. I am frustrated that when I
want to preview even the SMALLEST change, DW asks me to save. If I
say no, it previews the previously saved document rather than my
current code.
This I fine VERY VERY annoying as I can fire through many
change/preview cycles inside a couple minutes and saving just takes
more time. Further, I am not sure I want to save it until AFTER I
see the effect of my change.
Is there anyway to stop DW8 from asking to save and render
the from code from memory as opposed to disk-saved code. I PREFER
to decide when to save on my own (just like deciding when to wear
my seat belt!!). :-)

While true, it's a great deal more than just this. All root
relative links
have been converted to document relative, all include markup
has been
written to the page, all CSS has been written to the page,
etc.

Turning ON Save Prompt before Previewing in Browser

Hi -
Forgive me if this has been addressed, but I've searched through the forums and can only find requests to do the opposite of what I need.
I WANT Dreamweaver to prompt me to save my html file and attached CSS file before I preview in a browser. When I select "Preview in (Safari for example)", Dreamweaver does not ask me to save the files before previewing.
I DO NOT have the "Preview Using Temporary File" option checked in the Preferences pane.
Why is Dreamweaver not prompting me to save my files? This is getting very frustrating - I'm having to save everything on my own before I preview.

Sorry to hear you're having trouble previewing your Typekit fonts! Would you be able to share the URL where the fonts are not loading? If you'd rather not post it in the forum, you can email it to [email protected]
There is a browser bug in Chrome v33 browser which can affect any web fonts, including those loaded from Typekit. It's possible you are running into this problem:

Eprocurement Requisition upon "save and preview Approval"

Hi,
We have implemented eprocurement module 9.0 ver and found a strange problem.
After creating a requisition,while we click the button -"Save and preview Approvals" it shows the approval path.
If we happen to edit the requisition twice or thrice and again click the button-"Save and preview Approvals" its not showing the approval path.
would like to know:
1>if the changes to the requisition are saved ?
2>Why is there no approval path on clicking button--"Save and preview Approvals" after we edit a requisition more than twice ?
is it a delivered bug?

No problem Niesa. When you do get permission to post a screen image use the camera toolbar icon as indicated below. It is much quicker as the attachment method has to be moderated before we can see it.
Incidently we found that the only way around this was to rearrange the content inside the d-d.

How to edit a pfd document then save using Preview?

I received a form in pdf format. I need to fill out some blanks with text and e-mail it back to the sender. I could not figure it out using Preview. Actually I tried the Adobe acrobat reader also and had zero success. Thanks

No, you are wrong. I just tried it 2 minutes ago. Neither Adobe Acrobat 7 nor 8.1 will allow you to save a filled-in PDF form. You cannot preview. You cannot print to PDF. All you can do is Print.
Why do you need to print the filled-in form to a PDF file? You just save it; it's already a PDF file!
Because saving is disabled in Adobe Reader. Usually, if one is using a fill-in PDF form, it is some important document such as a tax form. It is always a good idea to keep an electronic form of such documents. The free Adobe Reader will not allow you to do this.

No, I can save a filled-in form to PDF using Preview. It is no longer editable, but I have an electronic copy of what I entered. That is impossible using Adobe Reader.

but if you say that you know Adobe Reader 8 won't let you save a filled-in PDF file, then you are spreading misinformation, and this is a disservice to those people who come here for answers. I save filled in PDF forms all the time; in your opinion, am I routinely doing the impossible?
Apparently, you must own the full Adobe Acrobat package. That will allow you to do all sorts of things with a PDF.
I think getting to the bottom of what works and what doesn't in a thread titled "How to edit a pdf document then save using Preview" is hardly doing a disservice. I appreciate your giving me the inclination to try a fill-in form using Preview again. I am quite pleased to learn that PDFView and Preview (in Tiger and Leopard) will allow you to enter data into a filled-in PDF form. Somehow I missed that. Often, it is a good idea to go back and re-try something even if you are sure you know the results. Sometimes things change underneath without your knowledge and sometime your knowledge expands to allow you to accomplish what had before been "impossible."
You can sigh all you want. But please, check your facts next time. And a bit more civility would be appreciated too. Sometimes people are wrong. That's life. The purpose of this discussion forum is not strictly to respond to questions without further elaboration. I am not here trying to make myself look smart. Prompt to save before scanning

When "creating a document from scanner" in Acrobat 8 Standard, I would be prompted to Save before the scanning began. This isn't happening with Acrobat X Standard. Is there a setting I can change in order to get this prompt?

Each time I "put" a file, there is a prompt asking if I want
to "save before putting". Can I automate this so the the file is
automatically saved when I put a file? I can not seem ot find this
control in the preferences.

I'm going crazy... Save RAM Preview

in AE CS5 when i click and drag (changing an effect value on Effect Controls panel, draging timeline indicator or even moving a layer in Composition panel) Save RAM Preview appear. it means after i released the mouse button AE automatically starts to make a preview.
do you believe that?

also i have a Matrox RTX2 video card with updated driver.
i tried to solve this silly problem with uninstalling matrox and reinstalling after effects but the problem still there.

LiveCycle 8.0 saves and previews very slow

I have a file that is about 75 pages long, and a total of less than 1000 fields. It takes over 5 minutes to save or preview. What could be wrong?
It loads fairly fast in Reader -- less than 30 seconds.
I'm developing on Vista Home Premium, 2 GB Ram.

Safari 5 doesn't saves webpage preview images

Safari doesn't saves webpage preview images. It only save images for my Top Sites pages.
When I look in my history cover flow I only see blank Safari symbols (except history from my Top Sites webpages)
Well I really want to see full cover flow.
How can I fix this?
By the way, the Reader feature really cool and very useful.

There's an area of Discussions (available only to the level 4 or 5 users) where we can post information about trouble we see out in the "public" forums ("Notable New Technical Issues"). I've been updating a thread on this issue with your progress so far with this. (I'm not sure if the Safari developers watch that though ... but just in case, I've been stashing info about this there.)
In the meantime, it's probably worth submitting a bug report via the "Help > Report Bugs to Apple" or the Apple Bug Reporter thing (if you've registered as an Apple Developer).

FM 9 on Win 7 Pro.
I am a long-time FM user.
I am trying to open files that I could successfully open before I left work yesterday. I can open FM, and open FM books. When I try to open an FM in a book, or an FM file not in a book, I get this message:
"Unsaved Changes in File:[File name] Save before closing? Yes No Cancel.
It doesn't matter which one I pick (Yes, No, Cancel), FM next shows this message:
FrameMaker 9 Application has stopped working. Windows can check online for a solution to the problem.
Check online for a solution and close the program
Close the program.

It doesn't matter what file I try to open (recently worked on files, and files I haven't touched for some time). Same messages, no matter what.
I have tried to update the book (the update seems to happen), saving the changes, and then try to open. Same error messages. I had hoped that updating the book would clear any possible cross-reference problems.
I have tried several re-boots, nothing works.
Help!

Since its happening with every file, my suspicion is that your application data is corrupted. Try this:
close down framemaker.
delete the following directory: C:\Users\[user]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\FrameMaker\
reopen framemaker and see if the problem is reproducible.

SAP command to save the previewed form to pdf

Does anyone know the sap command you type in the command line to save the previewed form to pdf in ECC 6? Saw it somewhere but just can't seem to recall it. Thanks!

Use program RSTXPDFT4 to convert your spool to PDF.
on the printer preference dialogue box,check create new spool check box.
click on print.
Goto SPO2 note your spool ID.
Provide that spool ID on the selection screen of the program.
you will be asked for the target file location.
Execute it.Spool will be converted into PDF.

Specifying start/end of "Save RAM Preview"?

I save RAM previews to preview comps with real-time audio, since AE's RAM Preview lags on audio, preventing me from syncing video and audio. When I save the RAM preview, it starts slightly after where I have it set in AE and ends much earlier. How do I specify the RAM preview start/end parameters?

You can specify beginning and end of the duration to be previewed by setting a work area.
That doesn't necessarily seem relevant to your problem of lagging audio.
If audio and video are out of synch, then please file a bug with details about version numbers of software, kinds of footage, et cetera. You can send bug reports to aebugs <at> adobe <dot> com.

With mouse moving auto Save Ram preview

Please let me know about my this problem, when i start my After Effects CS4 and i open new compsition, and import some images so when i drag them to timeline and when i move my mouse on any track, frequently and automitaclly it opens the Save Ram Preview, every time with every mouse move so i don't know what to do with that i searched more in After Effects menuse to improve that but i couldn't.
