Dyld Error Message since upgrade

Hi,
Upgraded to SL. Mostly OK, but some applications (Apple Motion, Compressor, Aperture) all crash with same message:
Dyld Error Message:
Library not loaded: /Library/Frameworks/PluginManager.framework/Versions/B/PluginManager
Referenced from: /Applications/Motion.app/Contents/MacOS/Motion
Reason: image not found
Well, its right. The image is not there. But presumably it was before upgrading. Anyone know a simple way to fix this?
Thanks,
Dan

What versions of these programs do you have?
Also, can you post the whole crash log here?
In your home folder, Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports/

  • 'Bluetooth not available' error message since upgrading to Leopard

    Hi, I regularly seem to get a 'Bluetooth not available' error message since upgrading to Leopard, any ideas why, have to reboot to shake it.
    cheers
    Simon

    I solved the same issue by resetting the SMC. With the computer off, remove the battery and press and hold the power button for 5 seconds. Then reinstall the battery and restart. I haven't had any bluetooth issues since.

  • Error message since upgrading iTunes

    I recently upgraded to iTunes v7.1.1.5 and have since been getting an error message that states "RTHDCPL.EXE Illegal System DLL Relocation". I am running an HP Media Center PC with Windows XP Media Edition. Any advice on how to fix this error?

    Hi, Peter8251.
    I don't have any first hand knowledge of this problem but a quick Google Search suggests that it is not at all connected with your recent upgrade to iTunes 7.1.1.5.
    There are a number of suggestions offered but if I were in your situation, the first thing I'd try is downloading and installing this MicroSoft Update .

  • Why suddenly all these Java error messages since upgrading to Lion?

    Since I upgraded to OSX 10.8.2, suddenly I'm having no end of error messages having to do with Java not running—everything from coupon printer plug-in to online games not functioning anymore. All of these worked fine in 10.7.4. Is there a fix?

    Since it is such a seething whole of exploits, Apple has disabled Java by default, both the JRE and the Web Applet launcher in Safari.
    If you try to run a Java application, it will ask if you want to install it.
    If you're just using web applets, you won't get asked. So, open Java Preferences which is in the /Applications/Utilities folder. It will ask if you want to install Java.
    Then, open Safari preferences, Security tab, and enable Java.

  • DVDAE error message, since upgrade to DVDSP4

    Hi,
    I just checked my projects for errors with the Demo version of DVDAfteredit. There I got the following errormessage for all projects i builded with DVD_SP 4:
    #PGC Command Errors
    #PreCommands from "Subpic-mapping»Video Title Sets»VTS 1»VTSM 1 Menus»Deutsch»VTSM PGC 59"
    12:     GoTo Line 15
    * Line value too large. Only 14 instruction lines in Pre-Command Area.
    The error occurs on 7-8 different PGCs aleways in this VTS.
    I didnt had this error on projects build with DVD SP 3.
    As i see, DVD SP internal scripting is building a "goto" command that is jumping behind the last line.
    As i dont understand the whole script, i dont know when this wrong goto command might be executed and how to correct this.
    I believe a cheap programmed Player may fail when it comes to this command.
    Can someone confirm this error, or better direct me to a solution?
    As i have DLT deadline in 2 days im a bit frightened about that thing. (I dont want to think about the yet replicated discs...)
    Thanks,
    Matthes

    Thanks Matthes,
    I agree with Aldershot. It sounds to me like it is just a DVDSP issue. I wanted to know if myDVDEDit agreed with DVDAE, and it does, so that clearly rules out any mistake that might have been made by DVDAE. In essence, you got a second opinion, and they both agree.
    Sounds like something in the project upgrade, or just the build got lost.
    What does the script mean, is another question. The GoTo command is a way of nesting multiple command strings within the same script.
    For example:
    If r0==1 Goto10
    If r0==2 Goto20
    Now, I might have two somewhat unique scripts that start on line 10 and on line 20, and I don't want to execute both of them, just one of them. So I create a condition based on a register value that will execute either one of these two scripts based on the value of register 0, aka r0.
    GoTo is actually a command you can learn, and use within DVDSP's own scripting capabilities. So it's actually in your user manual as well. Many spec commands do not exist in Apple's DVDSP script IDE, but Goto does exist there. As you learn to script, you will sometimes run into a situation where one set of script commands doesn't actually perform the duty you would like. You will create an IF THEN approach, and that is what Goto offers. It allows me to split a script in multiple scripts, all within the same larger script.
    That's a bit abstract to think about, but I hope it makes some sense.

    Any idea what is going on and how to fix this?
    Thanks.

    First try a Permissions repair from Disk Utility, booted from Safe Boot. Shift at the startup chime. Will need much longer to boot than normal.
    Try applying or reapplying the 10.6.8 Combo Update.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1399
    What backup if any do you have?
    If all else fails, you may need to do a reinstall of Snow Leopard from the disc that came with the Mac or the one you used to upgrade, if that's what you did.  This will give you new system files as of the version you use (you are missing one, or it is apparently corrupted.) Then run the Combo update again, preferably booted from Safe Boot (Shift at the startup chime.) Keep updating according to what is needed from Software Update and finally run Permissions repair booted normally. Reinstall Rosetta when prompted, if you try to open an older PPC app
    Reinstalling will preserve all your current third party programs.

  • How to fix CUPS corrupted (Dyld Error Message:   Library not loaded: /usr/lib/libcups.2.dylib)?

    Hello,
    After trying to change my printer settings on CUPS administrator area to allow to share my wirelless printer to my VirtualBox environment (somehow virtualbox doesn't detect my wirelless printer) I notice that this area stop to work. After it I try to update  the CUPS by installing a new version. I admint that I am a newby in unix environment and I downloaded the  CUPS v1.6.1 and installed through the terminal,
    ./configure
    sudo make
    make install
    After restarting apple site no longer opened like also my home page. Other programs also stopped working and always warn about the same error described bellow. I posted my last try which was reinstall my system Snow Leopard (Mac OS X 10.6.8). Does anyone deal with this problem before? How can I reinstall at least the operation system or just fixing this library will solve the problem?
    Note: The reason of using virtualbox is that I need to use a prescribed software that only works in windows environment and since I need to make work in other places the wireless printing is the only viable way to do this.

    Here is another option.
    I had the same problem with my Mac OSX System 10.8.4 after update cups from 1.6.2 to 1.6.3.
    I have a MacBookPro with the same system version and copy the libcups.2.dylib file form /usr/lib/ then replace the error file in my other Mac.
    1. Install cups 1.6.2 again
    2. Replace the file libcups.2.dylib in /usr/lib/ directory with this one libcups.2.dylib
    Note: I added the link if you dont have an other mac in the same version available.
    This works for me.

  • Safari 7.0.6 crashes: Dyld Error Message: Symbol Not Found

    After I did the latest MacOS update (10.9.5) Safari (7.0.6) no longer runs. I repaired permissions and also rebooted in safe mode so I could potentially remove any spurious plug-ins, but the last time I did this was with MaxOS 6 so I have no idea where to look in the current version.

    (insert a 'shed load' of other lines of log data which you probably don't need, right?)

    If you don't already have a current backup, back up all data, then reinstall the OS.* You don't need to erase the startup volume, and you won't need the backup unless something goes wrong. If the system was upgraded from an older version of OS X, you may need the Apple ID and password you used.
    If you use FileVault 2, then before running the Installer you must launch Disk Utility and select the icon of the FileVault startup volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name.) It will be nested below another icon with the same name. Click the Unlock button in the toolbar and enter your login password when prompted. Then quit Disk Utility to be returned to the main Recovery screen.
    There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional. Ask if you need guidance.
    If you installed the Java runtime distributed by Apple and still need it, you'll have to reinstall it. The same goes for Xcode. All other data will be preserved.
    *The linked support article refers to OS X 10.9 ("Mavericks"), but the procedure is the same for OS X 10.7 ("Lion") and later.

  • Error message when upgrading to 7.3.2.6

    I just (attempted to) upgrade to 7.3.2.6 (and after the install, it all seems OK for now) - but during the install, I got a "files in use" error message window, mentioning that Windows Explorer was running (Process Id: 432), giving me the option to Retry, Ignore or Exit.
    I tried all options - I even Exited and rebooted - and re-upgraded after that, but keep getting the same error... So far iTunes seems to have upgraded and appears to be working - but could the install have missed some components now - and therefore should I expect trouble ahead?

    Yes, i had the same error message after upgrading to 7.3.
    I am using windows XP - i went to the Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs -> Scrolled to iTunes & clicked on Change (not Remove), then clicked Repair. It all works fine after that.
    Search this forum - i hope you find a solution.

  • 64-bit logic pro won't open. Dyld error message

    I am trying to open the 64-bit version of logic pro 9.1.1 but it keeps crashing when trying to open. I can't work out why it won't open but It gives the following error in the Problem Report if anyone can help me out here:
    Exception Type: EXC_BREAKPOINT (SIGTRAP)
    Exception Codes: 0x0000000000000002, 0x0000000000000000
    Crashed Thread: 0
    Dyld Error Message:
    Library not loaded: @executable_path/../Frameworks/AEProfiling.framework/Versions/A/AEProfiling
    Referenced from: /Applications/Logic Pro.app/Contents/MacOS/Logic Pro
    Reason: no suitable image found. Did find:
    /Applications/Logic Pro.app/Contents/MacOS/../Frameworks/AEProfiling.framework/Versions/A/AEProfili ng: mach-o, but wrong architecture
    /Applications/Logic Pro.app/Contents/MacOS/../Frameworks/AEProfiling.framework/Versions/A/AEProfili ng: mach-o, but wrong architecture

    Hmm, very strange, never seen this message before. Have you tried going into Disk Utility and running a "Repair Disk Permissions" on your Macintosh HD? Can't guarantee it will fix the problem, but worth a try.. If you get really stuck, the simplest thing to do is just to uninstall Logic and then reinstall it, apply updates etc.. and try 64 bit again.

  • Has anyone seen this Dyld Error Message:   Library not loaded: /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/iLifeSlideshow.framework/Versions/A/iLifeSlid eshow   Referenced from: /Applications/iPhoto.app/Contents/MacOS/iPhoto   Reason: image not found

    Getting this error on iPhoto open it refers to iLifeSlideShow and iPhoto quits - or doesn't open.

    Yes, some perople have seen this. Options:
    1. Try reinstall iPhoto. (see below)
    2. If you have access to another Mac with the same version of the OS, try and copy that framework over
    3. Reinstall the OS.
    To re-install iPhoto
    1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
    2a: On 10.5:  Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
    2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows:  In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
    /var/db/receipts/
    A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
    3. Re-install.
    If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
    If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.
    If you purchased it on the App Store you can find it in your Purchases List.

  • I am getting this error message after upgrading to iOS5: "iTunes cannot sync apps to the iPad "ray's iPad" because the apps installed on the iPad could not be determined."

    I am getting this error message after upgrading to iOS5: "iTunes cannot sync apps to the iPad "ray's iPad" because the apps installed on the iPad could not be determined."
    I wiped it out and restored from backup but I am still getting the same message.

    I uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes and that fixed it. Here are the specific instructions that I was given.
    ~~~
    Try the following steps:
    1. Go to Microsoft website to fix install and Unistall problems. Click "Run now" from Fix it to remove all iTunes & related installer files:
    http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall
    Be aware that Windows Installer CleanUp Utility will not remove the actual program from your computer. However, it will remove the installation files so that you can start the installation, upgrade, or uninstall over.
    2. You should remove all instances of iTunes and the rest of the components listed below:
    it may be necessary to remove all traces of iTunes, QuickTime, and related software components from your computer before reinstalling iTunes.
    Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order:
    iTunes
    QuickTime
    Apple Software Update
    Apple Mobile Device Support
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
    Follow the instructions from Apple article listed here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923 to remove all components
    3. Reboot your computer. Next, download iTunes from here:http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ and install from scratch
    Good Luck!
