Dymo Printer shows in Printer list but local drivers cannot be installed

I connected the Dymo LabelWriter 400 to our PowerMac G5 running OS X Tiger Server via USB, set it up so it printed from the server, then tried to set up client machines. I was never able to install the DLW software from Dymo that enables use of the machine. Print Services have been set up with a queue for the LabelWriter and then switched on.
On a client machine (Mac mini, OS X Tiger) the Dymo printer can be seen in the Printer list either via Bonjour or by Shared Printers but nothing prints on it because both of these use the Generic Postscript Printer Driver. I tried printing from a simple Text Editor (Text Wrangler) but all that happened was that the printer generated a blank label.
It seems I cannot install the correct printer driver for the LabelWriter because the printer itself is not connected by USB to the Client machine, and cannot be shared from the server because Tiger server doesn't offer this option, other than through Print Services. When I try to open the DLS software to create a label, the app won't load because it says "it cannot find the printer".
Any ideas how I can get around this problem? All the Windows PCs on the Network could print to it when it was hosted on a NAS device, but no Macs could.

I still haven't found a way aroud this issue. I am thinking that perhaps the Dymo is a GDI printer - could this create any potential problems? What if I try to print via a Print Server such as the Netgear PS-121 or the Apple Base Station or whatever it is called?

Since you can see it in your device list it must have Find My Mac activated, but you're going to have to wait for them to take it online in order to either locate, lock or wipe it. Until it goes online you can't do anything. http://www.apple.com/support/icloud/find-my-device/

Have just upgraded to version 4 and when I go to Goggle search for a website it shows me a list but will not open any.

I've closed Firefox down and opened again and a message says "how embarassing" and tells me to restore or start a new session. Have tried both but still will not let me open any websites on the google search page.

Is this a new issue with your iPad meaning that you have been able to connect to the Internet in the past?
If it worked before try rebooting your router - unplug it for about 30 seconds and then plug it in again.
Sometimes restarting the iPad is all it takes as well. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
You can also reset Network Settings - go to Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings.Or go to Settings>WiFi>tap the blue arrow next to your network>Forget this Network. In either of those cases, you will have to rejoin your WiFi network and enter your password again.

Check out the articles below to get your notebook and iOS devices to print again. Check to see if there is anything that could be preventing it from being print to like a jam in the printer or a print queue that may be stuck. Another think to check, if you can get it to show up on your notebook. is to see if the printer has the latest firmware.

Just bought my first mac and already regretting it. It doesn't recognize my old printer: HP Photosmart 1315
Driver disc says it supports OS X, but I just found out that doesn't mean anything... the drivers are all for PowerPC macs and this one is a Core i5 running Mountain Lion.
So anyway, I found this wonderful article that says that there is software available for download for my printer and that all I need to do is connect my printer and the mac will automatically download the software. Problem is: nothing happens when I connect the printer. Zilch. Nada. Nothing. At all.
Now what? I can connect the printer as a "Generic PCL printer", but the output looks crummy with no ability to adjust print quality settings.
Do they seriously expect me to buy all new peripherals just because I bought a new computer?
I thought macs were supposed to be easy. Guess that was a lie.
This may very well be my last mac.

With regards to the document about drivers available from Apple that you have referenced in the subject, I don't see your PS 1315 in the list. Did you see it (maybe I missed it).
With regards to the Generic PCL driver, it only prints in black and white and the default resolution is 300dpi - but you can increase this to 600dpi in the Printer Features menu.

Hi,
From the printer Front panel, navigate to Setup. Locate and enter Web Services. Aprove any of the steps to enable the service... allow the device several minutes to complete the registration, a page will print automatically with the printer code and the directions to select the email address from hpeprint.com.

Shuffle showing large song list, but playing only 17 songs ?

My shuffle when connected, shows a list of approximately 50 songs.
The same playlist, when put on my ipod, plays perfectly, but playing from the shuffle will only play about 17 of these songs, and then repeats them over and over.
I have restored it twice, and each time, the same thing happens. The same songs, in the same order, and only 17 of them
We upgraded to Leopard recently, has this got anything to do with it ?

Make sure (by selecting any of the ones that don't transfer) using GetInfo in the File menu that the songs conform to the following:

Album art not showing in album list but is there

In the list of albums, some of the album art is not showing, but when I click to view the song list, it is there. See screenshot which explains it much better.
Any ideas on how to fix. (Reimporting album art does not work)

Chris - thank you so much for trying to help. Your suggestion is actually what I tried the first time. And my calendar doesn't sync or syncs blank (since I've never tried to sync a calendar, I am not sure which). Troubleshooting that is what led me to the other FAQ on syncing a calendar.
I saw a few threads that discussed that it seemed to be a problem with the new iPod software . . . and that the problem may lie with recurring appointments. If thats truly the case, then I'll probably have to quit trying. At least a third of my appointments are recurring ones!

My bookmark tab will briefly show my bookmark list but then goes blank. Retry and get same issue.

3 albums of purchased music show on purchased list, but files are only on iphone. How can I get them back onto my computer?

I have at least 3 albums of music that appear in the "purchased" column on itunes, but the files have gone missing. I have the files on my iphone, and can listen to them on it, but when I try to play them on my Mac I get the message : The song “XXXX” could not be used because the original file could not be found. Would you like to locate it?" but when I try to find the songs in my itunes library the files are not there. I have had to de- and reauthorize my computer to get the apple tv (1) to play old content, and wonder if in doing that, I have somehow wiped out old purchased song files. Is there a way to transfer these songs back onto my desktop Mac? The "transfer purchases from iphone" function doesn't do it, seemingly because the songs were all puchased via the desktop.

I think this is mentioned in that support article, but just in case:
When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
(1) Bypass Firefox's Cache
Use Ctrl+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.
Alternately, you also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now"
If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes.
(2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first). While viewing a page on the site:
* right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
* (menu bar) Tools menu > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
In the dialog that opens, you can delete your comcast cookies individually.
Then try reloading the page. Does that help?
