Dynadock U - USB Muti-channel Audio

I bought a Dynadock U a few months back and installed it for my HP Pavilion laptop (Vista Home), using the 2nd monitor and the audio. About two weeks ago, the audio stopped working and the audio devices no longer showed in the Vista Sound applet. Also, the USB Multi-channel Audio Control Panel applet would not load when launched and there was no icon in the tray for it.
After several installs and re-installs of various versions of the Dynadock software, I got my audio back (icons in the tray, etc) but I still don't know what caused this.
Futher, when I select "Sound Device.." from the Dynadock utility, and then close the Sound applet, I get a Toshiba Dynadock Utility error message saying "The media player needs to be restarted for the audio changes to take effect". I cannot find this Dynadock error anywhere. However, the audio is working properly now and showing up in the Sound applet.
Is this a known issue? Is it specific to Vista?Where can I find a remedy for the error message?
Thanks,
Steve

  • Using a Byterunner USB 5.2 Channel Audio Adap

I have not been able to get my microphone to function on the Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS, and after reading many messages regarding the same problem, I am seeking an alternate route to be able to record li've music. Does anyone have experience with these USB sound pods? Or other advice? Thanks!

When you start editing, either only add one to the timeline, and make it mono...or add both and make them mono.  Typically when I deal with talking heads, I will use only one channel.  Unless I have a wireless mic on one, and a boom on the other...I'll add both, but mute one (the one that sounds worse)...but have both just in case some sound affects the main audio, then I switch to the other.

  • IMac won't recognise USB MIDI keyboard in Audio MIDI Setup

I upgraded earlier in the week from a G4 eMac to a new Intel iMac. All appeared well until I tried to use my Evolution MK-361 USB midi keyboard from inside Logic. No midi events were coming through the system.
After some fiddling around I found the Audio MIDI Setup utility and the keyboard is not listed as a device in there. However, if I open System Profiler and select the USB information I can see that the keyboard is connected. According to the E-Magic web site this model of keyboard is class compliant and so shouldn't need a driver installed.
Originally I had the keyboard plugged into a USB hub. I've tried restarting the machine, restarting the machine with the cable plugged into different USB ports and different USB cables plugged into different USB ports. I've also downloaded all the latest OS / firmware / application updates and installed them.
I reconnected the keyboard to my old eMac and it shows up on there so I know it's not a fault in the keyboard itself.
The only other bits of gear connected to the machine are a Lacie external hard drive and my Saffire but these are firewire device so I wouldn't expect them to cause a problem (they certainly didn't on the eMac).
If anyone has any ideas I would seriously appreciate the help. As you can imagine I'm pretty gutted having forked out a grand for the machine.
    Cheers

iMac (Intel)   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

    Hi Jon
So much for plug and play
    Yeah, it's great isn't it?
I emailed M-Audio tech support about it and apparently it's a known problem in 10.4.8 and they're waiting for a fix from Apple. I guess I'll just have to keep my eyes peeled for OS updates and go rummaging under the stairs for a midi cable instead.
    Ho hum.

  • Cheapo alternative to Apple Lightning to USB Camera Adapter for audio interface?

I am getting an audio interface (Steinberg UR44) which can be controlled with an iPad via the Apple Lightning USB Camera Adapter and a standard USB printer cable (Type A male  to type B male), but I am too cheap to buy the ridiculously overpriced Apple adapter, so I am wondering if the following will work instead:
iPad --> Apple lighting male to USB Type A male cable (the standard charging cable) --> USB Type A female to Type B male adapter --> Audio Interface
Other adapters are available for USB Type A female to Type B micro or mini male, so the same kind of arrangement might work for cameras.
The adapters are five bucks or less vs. thirty for the RIDICULOUSLY OVERPRICED (yes, I know, I already said that) Apple adapter.
I am thinking this is a better way to go than a cheap unlicensed knockoff lightning adapter, because the critical part of the connection (the lightning plug and electronics) would still be made by Apple.
Has anyone tried the above with either an audio interface or camera?

Because it was designed for use with the iPad. Apple makes no claim that it will work with an iPhone.

  • USB Dock 3.0 Audio through DVI-HDMI cable?

    Hey there!
I currently own the yoga 2 pro and I am looking for a suitable dock. One thing that prevented me from ordering the usb 3.0 dock was that I am not sure whether with a DVI to HDMI cable I am able to get audio from my laptop to a TV.
    For better understanding: Laptop -> USB 3.0 -> USB 3.0 Dock -> DVI -> HDMI -> TV
I asked my local retailer and they said it isn't possible but I am not sure whether they tested my method. They said I'll be needing a seperate audio jack cable -.- ugly... with my old 460 GTX I was able to transmit sound with the same DVI/HDMI cable
Can anyone who owns the USB 3.0 dock confirm that audio through DVI-HDMI cable to a TV is working / not working?
    Any help is appreciated!
    Greetings

DVI won't carry audio on the ThinkPad USB 3.0 dock.

  • 10.6.2 USB headphones problem  + puzzling Audio Midi Setup workaround

After updating to 10.6.2, my Logitech USB headphones started behaving strangely -- on two separate machines (a 2006 MacBook and a 2009 Mac Pro), so it's not a fault with the computer.
    Symptoms:
    1. no sound in Skype
    2. no sound in YouTube
    3. sound, but low volume levels in iTunes when volume is at highest setting
Audio output from the headphone jack and internal speaker remained normal, with no problems.
I knew enough to fiddle with Audio Midi Setup, and discovered the following. The problems described above remained whenever the volume controls for channels 1 and 2 were equal.
The minute the volume controls were set to different levels for the two channels, sound reappeared -- and the greater the disparity, the louder the overall volume coming to both ears. For example setting channel 1 to 0.83 value/-1.00 dB and channel 2 to 1.00 value/3.00 dB produces an adequate volume level overall (though I suppose it is coming at the cost of an actual inequality between the two stereo channels).
Am I correct to assume that I have uncovered a bug here? I had no such problems before 10.6.1.
Unfortunately, I don't have a second pair of USB headphones to test whether that makes a difference.

Update to my own message: It's not necessary to go to Audio Midi Setup to see the effect. In the Sound preference pane as well, setting the balance dead center causes the sound to go to zero, but unbalancing it in favor of either the left or right brings the sound back -- the more unbalanced, the louder.
Furthermore, the balance control does not actually reduce the volume to either ear when moved to the left or the right. That is, with balance all the way to the left, I get louder volume...out of both ears.
No such problem when playing through the regular headphone jack.

  • Mute and unmute audio in video clips

Making an hour long movie. I only want the original movie sound on 2 or 3 clips - the rest my own music. In the past I did it by dragging the movie sound (in Box A) to bottom to mute it then raising it where I wanted it to be heard. However, this would be a royal pain in this case. Is there a way to uncheck the original movie sound where I want my own music, then check it where I want to hear it? I can't seem to do so without making it all heard or none. Can anyone help with a quick way of doing this? Thanks,
    Max

    Hi Max:
You can extract all of the original audio. It will show up on the second line of the timeline.
Click on one of the extracted audio clips and Edit >'select All". Use the volume slider to mute all of the clips to "0".
If they aren't already, you will need to split the audio where you want to hear it and go back to the volume slider and increase the volume there.
Man, I'm not a very good teacher-hope you understood that one!

  • Dynadock Universal USB 3.0 Docking Station: no autoconnect of USB-HDD after Win8 power-up

    Hello,
    I've recently obtained a Dell XPS-12 which only has a SSD-HDD.
In order to overcome the limitations in terms of available connections I bought a Dynadock which works fine so far.
I want to use the Dynadock in a configuration where it is the only device connected to the laptop and all peripherals are connected to the dynadock.
If I connect a USB-HDD to the dynadock I so far did not manage to have the HDD reliably connected to the laptop after power-up, sometimes it works, sometimes I need to unplug the HDD.
I did not find a sequence of powering up laptop/dynadock that does the job.
    Any ideas?
    Best regards
    Tim Tom

Did you ever resolve this issue, because I am having exactly the same issue!  Thanks!

  • Dynadock U10 USB charge mode not working/ charging

Hi, when in undock mode the 2 front USB ports do not charge an iPhone 4G. Its a Dynadock U10 PA3575E-1PRP. Set charge mode after undock is ticked in Dynadock Utility. iPhone charges ok when docked. As soon as the Dynadock is undocked the iPhone stops charging.
    Any ideas?
Only other entry is here [http://forums.toshiba.com/t5/General-Technology/Cannot-charge-with-frontside-USB-Ports-on-Dyndock-U-with/td-p/143880] but no solution posted.
    Cheers, Dan.

Akuma - Yes, other devices charge ok.
Called Toshiba support and they say this is in fact correct. The iPhone will not charge despite other devices charging ok. I asked why and they replied “that’s what 2nd line support says!” I was offered to return the item if I was not satisfied.
One of the key reasons for buying the Dynadock was to charge the iPhone overnight when the Dynadock was asleep. What a pity :-(
Curious as to the cause of this and I hope Toshiba can find a solution to the issue in the future considering there are so many iPhones out there. Toshiba has a great product in the DynaDock with the exception of this issue.

  • Final Cut 7.0.2/Tascam USB-2, US-144MKII audio output intermittent

    Dear folks,
    Hello.
I am continuing to have problems with getting sound out of my Tascam USB 2.0 inteface box using Final Cut v 7.0.2, on a Mac Pro 2x2.66 GHz Quad Core Intel Xeon, OS10.6.4 .
The interface unit is a Tascam US-144MKII, USB 2.0 Audio/Midi Interface.
I have down loaded its driver. It works fine as the system output and playing back from Quicktime player.
In Final Cut it is fine one moment, sometimes pops and clicks then it goes silent. It is unpredictable and unstable. It is intermittent, not working most of the time. I have refreshed the AV Devices, set audio output in Audio/Video Preferences and tried Sequence settings, as well as restarting the computer.
I am having to go Firewire out to an external deck to get sound out of Final Cut onto my sound system.
Final Cut seems to be the problem.
    Any ideas?
    Thank you for your time.
    Bests,
    Peer

I've had limited success across five suites. Running FCP 7.0.3 across all rooms, however I've only been able to get one room functioning in a limited way. It sees MIDI info in the Control Panel indicator and replays some fader level info, however only when stopping and starting FCP. Have been troubleshooting the issue and have downloaded the newest Tascam driver for the FW-1884 (from May 2010). Can get FCP audio output through the monitor bussing on the Tascam, however actual moving-fader still not achieved.
Called Tascam's (LA) help line and they couldn't give me any advice at all (as they would only comment on Logic issues and were unfamiliar with using FCP!)
    Any suggestions from anyone?
    Thanks.

  • IPhone lightening to USB and 3.5mm audio cable

I'm trying to connect my iphone 5 to my 2007 BMW Z4. I'm looking for a cable adapter like this http://www.ebay.com/itm/USB-Car-Charger-Adapter-3-5mm-Audio-Connector-Cable-for- iPod-iPhone-3G-3GS-4-4S-/230753349457. But with the lightening connector instead of the older 30-pin style. I'm using the small 30/Lightening adapter now -which works - but wan to switch to a new ProClips holder that doesn't have room for the 30-pin adapter and connector.

From Amazon. Everyone can't be lying. But hey I gave it a shot for you. Good luck.

  • When i plug in the usb guitar cable the audio in my headphones goes away

when i input the guitar to usb interface it asks to connect but calls it a headphone. it was working but now the sound doesnt come out of the computer or headphones

Go to GB's audio prefs and make sure that your interface is set as the audio input but the internal audio is set as the audio output.

  • Missing USB ports and no audio in 64-bit but OK in 32-bit

I recently lost audio output from my MacBook Pro.  As usual, I had been fiddling with several things at once so don't know how or if I triggered the issue. I had been dealing with Airtunes problems but assumed network issues. I had also been trying to mount NTFS volumes with MacFuse and NTFS-3G but had compatibility issues with Lion.
Looking in the Sound control panel, Audio MIDI setup and System Profiler, no internal output option was available.  I did have SoundFlower and Digidesign options.
While troubleshooting this, I noticed that only the frontmost of the three USB ports on the MBP was working.
I booted into Snow Leopard from an external drive and everything was working fine.
Researching the issue, a reference to 32 vs 64 bit got me thinking, so I booted into Lion in 32-bit mode and everything worked again.  Back into 64-bit, no audio, only one USB again.
I've removed the SoundFlower and Digidesign stuff (incompatible with Lion anyway) and the NTFS stuff without effect.
Can anyone advise me where to look next?  I've browsed the logs but don't really know what I'm looking for.
Any help would be much appreciated.

I've got a temporary fix , but it sounds like you need a full recovery . After the HP/Compaq Screen flashes and disappears at startup , start pressing F8 like a boss (4 or 5 times) , you'll see a screen pop up with many options on it , near the bottom is one that says "disable driver signature requirement" or something similar . Arrow down and select that one , don't think it works after reboot , but like I said , it's just a temporary fix .
    hope that helped
If it did hit me with some Kudos , I need all the help i can get .

  • Adobe Audition 3.0 and Pinnacle 700 USB - How to record audio from VHS tapes???

    Hi Friends,
I am new to Adobe Audition 3.0. I need your help.
Actually I am having a old Pinnacle 700 USB capture card. I want to record some audio in my computer by Adobe Audition.
I downloaded and installed required driver for Pinnacle 700 USB (for Vista).
But when I tried to capture audio from my VHS tapes, It not showing proper options. I don't know how to proceed further.
Could any one please help me... Please let me know what all I need to do.
    Waiting for your helpful suggestions.
    Thanks,
    Yash

The Pinnacle is a video capture device and as such captures the video and audio into one MPEG or DV stream. Audition can't see it as an audio card and therefore can't capture audio directly from your video source. However once you have captured a video file using the Pinnacle you can probably get to the audio by using the Open Audio from Video command in the File menu in Audition.
