Can we use dynamic actions in PA30... or is it juust dedicated to PA40/Actions ?
Thanks in advance

  • Is Dynamic Actions Limited

    Is there a limit on the number of Dynamic Actions we can have on a page..
    were at a point when we create another dynamic action and run the page we get 'page cannot be found'
    if we delete a dynamic action, any of them then the page runs.
    but if we create another, 'page cannot be found' again..
    its like we have hit some sort of limit..
    apex 4.0.0.00.46

    so, its fixed with upgrade the latest patchset.
    i've the same problem with version 4.0.0.00.46.
    tks.
    NOTE: (if someone have this problem)
    apparently no limit to the dynamic actions, only for the javascript code lines. possible solution, if it has a lot of javascript code in the dynamic actions, create javascript functions or procedures in section "Function and Global Variable Declaration" in "Edit page" area and call them by dynamic actions.

  • Disable only one radio button in a Radiogroup using Dynamic Actions.

    Hello everyone,
    I'm using Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.4.0 - 64bit with Application Express 4.1.1.00.23
    I have a radio group which has 3 radio buttons. Now in certain situations I want only one of the radio buttons to be disabled.
    I don't want to resort to Javascript for this as that would mean another piece of code that can go wrong and introduce bugs.
    Is this possible using a Dynamic Action? Although DA is also JS, I feel its much easier to maintain.
    Regards,
    Arijit

    I know, you did ask for DA
    Try to put this code in DA and run this code on page load

  • Issue with Dynamic Actions - Infotype 0041 Updation

    Hi All,
    Requirement :
    I have to update the Date type-13 ( Resignation Date - DAR11 ) without Date ( DAT11 as Blank value - User will fill through Infogroup ) while performing the Termination action through PA40.

                  04     188     W     P0041-DAR11='' **BEGIN & END OF CRA01670 CODE ***
    Issue :
    1. The above logic is not working for Finland ,other countries. For only India it is working.
    2. Some times Date type-13 is coming twice while through the Infogroup-0041 screen twice,which is incorrect. The infotype-0041 should call only once.I have checked the User parameters,MOLGA,USR. But it is not working.
    2. The standard configuration Date type -09-Last day of work - is working fine . But i could not be able to find ,from where it is coming.I have checked the Dynamic actions,but no use.
    Need your inputs to solve the issue.

  • Problem in calling dynamic actions in BDC

    Dear All,
    I have created a subroutine which is called when an entry is made in IT0015 for a particular wagetype. So I have used dynamic actions to serve the purpose.
    But the entries in IT0015 are made through a BDC, and I am facing in calling dynamic actions through BDC. I have tried the following code:
    DATA: opt TYPE ctu_params .
    DATA: zmode TYPE c VALUE 'N',
    zupd TYPE c VALUE 'A'.
    opt-dismode = zmode.
    opt-updmode = zupd.
    opt-defsize = 'X'.
    opt-nobinpt = 'X'.
    ******While calling transaction in BDC
    CALL TRANSACTION 'PA40' USING g_t_bdc
    OPTIONS FROM opt
    MESSAGES INTO g_t_messtab.
    But this does not work, it only calls the first screen of tcode PA30 and only populates the PERNR in that.
    Please suggest how do I rectify this problem.
    Regards,
    Kanupriya

    Hi Marcin,
    When I call PA30 without using options i.e.:
    CALL TRANSACTION 'PA30' USING BDCDATA MODE 'A' UPDATE 'S'.
    then, the BDC works perfectly and calls all the required screens correctly.
    But when I use:
    CALL TRANSACTION 'PA30' USING bdcdata
    OPTIONS FROM opt
    MESSAGES INTO messtab.
    then, it shows me only the first screen of PA30 and stops there.
    Also, if I hard code a break-point in my subroutine and save an entry in PA30, then the subroutine stops at the breakpoint. But if I call PA30 with SHDB transaction, then the code does not stop at subroutine which means the subroutine is not being called with SHDB.
    Please suggest why this is occuring.
    Regards,
    Kanupriya

  • Executing Dynamic actions in Background???

    Hello Experts,
    We have a requirement where we need to automate PA40. The data would be sent in csv file and we need to perform the required steps to insert data into Infotypes.
    The issue is in batch mode (background mode), the dynamic actions wouldn't be called and the business wants the dynamic actions to be considered as well.
    Pls let me know if there is any way we can interpret the dynamic actions dynamically; meaning the prog should be able to handle the newly created dynamic actions as well.
    Any pointers to this are highly appreciated.
    Regards
    RK

    Hello Raj;
    In documentation of  Dynamic Actions it is written so:
    Note on creating a batch input session:
    Dynamic actions are not processed in a batch input session.
    In batch input, you must specify the exact sequence of the screens. To
    ensure this is the case, you must have already programmed the dynamic
    action checks before you create the batch input session.
    To avoid errors only the static actions are processed when you program
    and process a session. Infotypes that usually only appear in the system
    as a result of a dynamic action should be updated by calling up the
    transaction separately.
    Hope this can help you,
    Regards.

  • Dynamic action on text box change does not working

    i have a page with following components.
    a report that has and edit link.
    a text box to catch the primary key from report link when it is clicked
    a number of elements (text boxes, check boxes and LOVs) which are used as data entry form.
    Now my design is that user enter values save them and no sooner did they save, the report depicts new
    values. if user want to edit any record, they click on edit link and the data entry form elements
    should now bring all those values from DB on page. i m successful to pick primary key and bring
    it in a hidden text box and wrote a dynamic action on its change event that will bring values from
    DB and set all page elements. but but but.........the change event doesnt work. it only work
    when focus is lost from the text box...!! offcourse user wont want to click in that "hiddent" text
    box and then click some where else to bring values in page data entry form......
    help is humbly requested from forum or if any other solution approach is to be used easier than
    one i m using, would be appreciated.
    thanks in advance for reading my bore question :)

    bundles of thanks for reply. i m going to elaborate.
    1. My page no is 3.
    2. Hidden Item name is P3_EDIT_ACTIVITY_ID
    3. Data entry form, hidden item and the report are on the same page.
    4. on the edit link of report, i have used following settings.
        Target: Page in this application
         Page: 3
         and i set hidden item as follows......
         Item 1   P3_EDIT_ACTIVITY_ID         Value #ACTIVITY_ID#
       well, when i click the link on report it does bring Activity_Id in the hidden box (which is not yet hidden for debugging purpose)
    Next i wrote Dynamic action which fires on the change event of P3_EDIT_ACTIVITY_ID and run PL/SQL code with in it which is as follows
      declare
      Dept varchar(50);
    begin
       select my_dept into Dept from activity_main ACTIVITY_ID = :P3_EDIT_ACTIVITY_ID;
       :P3_Dept := :Dept;          (i did use :P3_Dept := Dept also but this wont work)
      insert into testdynamic (stamp) values (Dept);  (I did this to check whether correct value is brought from DB, yes it works correctly, correct Dept is being inserted in stamp column)
    end;
      i have created another true action to check when the dynamic action is fired. its very simple alert. and the problem is, it only fires when focus is lost from the P3_EDIT_ACTIVITY_ID. i mean, when u keep changing value inside the text box, nothing happens, when u go outside, the alert is fired and so the pl/sql procedure. but the line
        :P3_Dept := :Dept;       OR      :P3_Dept  := Dept;         arent working which is the actual requirement.
      I m not using set value here as i have to set a lot of values on page not one. further. plz let me get rid of this lost focus thing as i want the form to be populated with correct values related to P3_EDIT_ACTIVITY_ID as the user click on any edit_link in the report.
    Thanks for persistence. i hope i have provided all the details.
    looking forward.

  • Dynamic Action with field DIVGV not working

    We have built the dynamic action below to default values from infotypes 0007 and 0008 behind the screnes in infotype 0491 Payroll Outsourcing. The issue that we are having is that the dynamic action will not work for field P0008-DIVGV, but will work with all the other fields.
    The only difference between the DIVGV field and the rest of the other fields mentioned in this dynamic ation is that it seems to be a free text field (which you can modify), even though the values are pulled from the work schedule rule in infotype 0007. We have also hidden the DIVGV field in 0007 per client requirement.
    Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get this working. Do we need to populate these values in any of thh HR tables first?

  • Dynamic action with function works, doesnt refresh textfield

    Hi all,
    experimenting with dynamic actions so I got the following setup:
    I've built a screen with 2 text boxes
    P7_input
    P7_output
    The goal is to put some tet in P7 input and have it returned with additional text in P7_OUTPUT
    CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE PRC_ECHO
      P_INPUT IN VARCHAR2  DEFAULT 'LEEG'
    , P_OUTPUT OUT VARCHAR2
    ) AS
    BEGIN
      p_output := 'Ingevoerd: ' || p_input;
    END PRC_ECHO;I've created a dynamic action on the LOSE FOCUS event of item P7_INPUT.
    The true action executes PL/SQL (sequence number 10)
    Begin
    eigen_apps.uga_prc_echo (:p7_input, :P7_OUTPUT);
    end;"Page items to submit" are set to P7_INPUT, P7_OUTPUT
    (and I tried with just P7_INPUT).
    The second true action (sequence number 20) does a REFRESH on ITEM P7_OUTPUT (and I tried refresh region and other things I thought would make it work.)
    When I enter something in P7_INPUT and tab, click or enter away from the P7_INPUT field, nothing changes in my P7_OUTPUT textfield.
    Only when I hit the refresh button in my browser P7_OUTPUT is filled with 'Ingevoerd: <P7_INPUT value>.
    So. The procedure does return the value into P7_OUTPUT, but I cant get an instant refresh of the P7_OUTPUT to work.
    Can any of you help me?

    Hi Brian,
                  In standard SAP physical sample planning requires sample drawing procedure.
    Link: [http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_05/helpdata/EN/2d/3521b6448c11d189420000e829fbbd/frameset.htm]
                  And drawing procedure is advised with partial sample numbers.
    Link: [http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_05/helpdata/EN/2d/3521b6448c11d189420000e829fbbd/frameset.htm]
                 Generally when we use partial sample numbers, we also use a drawing procedure. And in that scenario SAP describes the calculation as shown in
    Link: [http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_05/helpdata/EN/2d/3521b6448c11d189420000e829fbbd/frameset.htm]
                 What you have done (partial samples for MICs and not having for others, all without drawing procedure) is not generally done. I think our observations in this context should be confirmed only if we try more of such examples.

  • Performance issues with dynamic action (PL/SQL)

    Hi!
    I'm having perfomance issues with a dynamic action that is triggered on a button click.
    I have 5 drop down lists to select columns which the users want to filter, 5 drop down lists to select an operation and 5 boxes to input values.
    After that, there is a filter button that just submits the page based on the selected filters.
    This part works fine, the data is filtered almost instantaneously.
    After this, I have 3 column selectors and 3 boxes where users put values they wish to update the filtered rows to,
    There is an update button that calls the dynamic action (procedure that is written below).
    It should be straight out, the only performance issue could be the decode section, because I need to cover cases when user wants to set a value to null (@) and when he doesn't want update 3 columns, but less (he leaves '').
    Hence P99_X_UC1 || ' = decode('  || P99_X_UV1 ||','''','|| P99_X_UC1  ||',''@'',null,'|| P99_X_UV1  ||')
    However when I finally click the update button, my browser freezes and nothing happens on the table.
    Can anyone help me solve this and improve the speed of the update?

    Hi Ivan,
    I do not think that the decode is performance relevant. Maybe the update hangs because some other transaction has uncommitted changes to one of the affected rows or the where clause is not selective enough and needs to update a huge amount of records.
    Besides that - and I might be wrong, because I only know some part of your app - the code here looks like you have a huge sql injection vulnerability here. Maybe you should consider re-writing your logic in static sql. If that is not possible, you should make sure that the user input only contains allowed values, e.g. by white-listing P99_X_On (i.e. make sure they only contain known values like '=', '<', ...), and by using dbms_assert.enquote_name/enquote_literal on the other P99_X_nnn parameters.

  • Problem setting a hidden item value when button clicked with dynamic action or pl/sql process

    Apex 4.1
    Oracle 11g
    I have a page that consists of a main region and several sub regions.  I have a pl/sql process in After Header SET_DISPLAY(:P400_DISPLAY :='MAIN';)
    Three subregions have a contional display where P400_DISPLAY = STORE.  This works in hiding the sub regions.
    Now I want to change the P400_DISPLAY value to STORE to show the subregions when I hit a button.
    I tried creating a dynamic action for on click of the add button but get the following error:
    The selected button uses a 'Button Template' that does not contain the #BUTTON_ID# substitution string
    I went to the templates and found:

    I then tried creating a page process, pl/sql, :P400_DISPLAY :='STORE'; when the appropriate button is pressed.  The button action is submit page. However, it does not change the P400_DISPLAY value and the subregions stay hidden.
    Suggestions please on how to fix the template or change the P400_DISPLAY value?

    The root issue is that, although you change the value of your page item, it isn't visible to other areas of the page until it is in the session. So, any other action based on the value of your page item; the visibility of a control, a report based on the item's value, etc. will all be unaffected by changing the value of the page item until it has been changed in the session. Even after this the items are stored in the session, you must thereafter do something to cause the value to be reevaluated. To see the effect of this, observe that your page loads and evaluates the value of your page item, it sees that is "MAIN" and hides the regions. However, it doesn't reevaluate them after this.
    So; your choices to get this value set in the session are to either Submit the page, or use JavaScript to set the value in the session. If you use the latter of these, you'll have to do some further work to cause the visibility tests to be re-run, So, let's stick with with the submit method.
    What you've done above sounds correct for this but, there are a lot of decisions you could have made that might have caused things not to happen in the correct sequence.
    Firstly, let's confirm that what I describe above is your problem. From the development environment, load the page, click the button to change the value and submit. Now, click the link labelled Session. Is it still set to MAIN? If so; this is your issue.
    Let's start with the your After Header computation. Did you set it to *only* run if the current value of your page item is NULL??? If not, that's your problem.
    Load Page -> Item set to 'Main' by Computation -> Click Button -> Item set to STORE -> Submit -> Load Page -> Item set to 'Main' by Computation
    See the problem?
    Assuming this isn't the issue, you created a Branch to the same page, right? What is your process point for the Branch? Is it *After* Validation, Computation etc? Because if not, you aren't changing the value before the submit happens.
    I bet it is the first issue but, take a look at these.
    Cheers,
    -Joe

  • Dynamic Action based on Interactive Report Select List Value

    I'd like to perform a Dynamic Action when a user selects one of 3 options from a Select List within an Interactive Report:
    select APEX_ITEM.SELECT_LIST(
    p_idx => 3,
    --p_value         =>   deptno,
    p_list_values => 'Copy;Copy,Delete;Delete,Export to PDF;Export to PDF',
    --p_attributes    =>   'style="color:red;"',
    p_show_null => 'YES',
    p_null_value => NULL,
    p_null_text => '--Select--',
    --p_item_id       =>   'f03_#ROWNUM#',
    p_item_id => 'P6_IR_SELECT_LIST',
    p_item_label => 'Label for f03_#ROWNUM#',
    p_show_extra => 'YES') "Actions"
    from dual;
    When building the Dynamic Action, I chose the following values from the Advanced wizard
    Event: Select
    Selection Type: DOM Object
    DOM Object: P6_IR_SELECT_LIST
    Condition: Equal to
    Value: "Delete"
    True Action: Execute Javascript Code: Alert('Here');
    Doesn't seem to be firing...can anyone help?
    Thanks in advance,
    John

    Hi,
    I am not sure if the "equal to" condition applies to a DOM object... after all, a DOM object can be anything (any HTML element) not only a field.
    Try using a javascript expression instead, like this:
    $v('P6_IR_SELECT_LIST')=='Delete'UPDATE: Sorry, I just tested and "equal to" condition works for DOM objects... should have tested before posting!

  • Info group being not called while using Dynamic Actions

    Hi,
    I am facing a scenario that, while we execute some action from PA40 like termination, then it will call my subroutine for dynamic actions which will be calculating the last day worked and updating the same in Info Type 0041.
    For updating the IT 0041, i am using the function module HR_MAINTAIN_MASTERDATA. and IT0041 is getting updated properly. But now the problem is coming that when the control comes out of subroutine, it is going back to the PA40 Screen and not to the next screen of the Info group.
    What can be the cause for the same.
    RND I have done on my part: I have commented/uncommented the return parametre RP50D-Date1, commented/uncomented the use of function modules to lock and Unlock the pernr.
    Please give ur comments.
    Thanks in Advance.

    Hi Nisha,
    Not sure if I have understood correctly, but if you just wanted to calculate leaving date and write the same date in IT0041 then you don't need a function module:
    1. Create a small program, as follows:
    REPORT  ZHR_PY_R0008                           .
    INCLUDE MPPDAT00.
    TYPE-POOLS HRQTA.
    TABLES: P0000,
            RP50D,
            T001P.
    ROUTINE CALLED BY TABLE T588Z
    FORM CHANGE_DATE.
      RP50D-DATE1 = P0000-BEGDA - 1 .
    ENDFORM.                    " CHANGE_DATE
    This program will give you the last working day written to RP50D-DATE1
    2. Simply enter the following lines into table T588Z:
    0000 04 499*- LEAVING ACTION - Populate Infotypes with leave date -*
    0000 04 500 P T001P-MOLGA='08'
    0000 04 501 P PSPAR-TCLAS='A'
    0000 04 502 P PSPAR-MASSN='*'/X   (* equals your leaving action types)
    0000 04 503 P PSPAR-MASSN='*'/X   (* equals your leaving action types)
    0000 04 504 F CHANGE_DATE(ZHR_PY_R0008)
    0000 04 505 ******** INF.0041  ********
    0000 04 506 I COP,0041,,,(P0000-BEGDA),(P0000-ENDDA)/D
    0000 04 507 W P0041-DAR07='*'   (* equals your date type)
    0000 04 508 W P0041-DAT07=RP50D-DATE1
    or if you are simply looking to delimit IT0041 with the leave date then replace lines 506-508 with:
    0000 04 506 I MOD,0041,,,(RP50D-DATE1),(RP50D-DATE1)/D
    0000 04 507W     P0041-ENDDA=RP50D-DATE1
    This will solve your problem : - )

  • IRR dynamic action filter does not work when condition set.

    Hi All
    I've set up a filter on an Interactive report using a dynamic action. The fiilter is used to display records that expire within a term ( example 30,60,90 days.) The dynamic action is set to fire On Change. This all works fine as long as I do not set the report condition to only display when P1_DAYS is not null.
    I am using a report template that includes #REGION_STATIC_ID# as referenced in this post -
    http://anthonyrayner.blogspot.com/2010/07/report-filtering-with-apex-40-dynamic.html
    I hoped not to display a blank report region .. wait until after the user selects the "term" before displaying the results. Any workaround suggestions would be appreciated.
