Dynamic background

Hi all,
I've just started using dreamweaver cs4 and am looking to create a website with a background that behaves like this, when the window is resized.
I just want the image to move and shift, not necesarily resize. The example looks like the image is anchored off the screen and enlarges and moves as the window does.
What size image do i need to do this also?

But just because something is possible doesn't mean you necessarily want to use it. The biggest drawback to resizing background images on the fly is that you can't keep the aspect ratio under control so when viewport is resized your image becomes grossly distorted.
I still think that repeating background tiles or gradient slices is the safest and lightest way to fill a viewport.

IOS weather app not showing dynamic background

The iOS weather app is not showing the dynamic graphic in the background - it's just "frozen" - have tried to restart my iPhone 6 but without luck.

this helped me understand the issue at hand...
If the book that you downloaded is no longer in your country's ibookstore then you won't be able to redownload it - publishers/copyright-holders occasionally remove books the store, ibooks are only potentially redownloadable whilst they remain in the store.
If the version that you have isn't still in the store, then to get it on your iPhone you will need to connect your iPad to your computer's iTunes and do File > Devices > Transfer Purchases to copy it over to your computer (and if using a Mac with OS X Mavericks on it then in iBooks on your Mac do File > Move Books From iTunes to copy it over to that), and you can then sync it to your iPhone.

Dynamic background behind text?

At the present time I am creating my bible texts externally using a pleasant background, and saving as a JPEG. I superimpose this over the video. This works very well, but I would like to use a moving background at times.
The problem with the JPEG superimpose method is when I resize the text in the canvas, the background is also resized.
This question is probably located somewhere in the documentation, but so far I have not found it.

You can do all of this in FCE -
• Place your jpeg photo (just the photo, no text) in your sequence.
• Place a text generator clip (Boris Title 3D, Lower Third, etc.) on the next higher video track, above the photo. (If your photo is on V2, put the text clip above it on V3 ...)
• You can then modify/adjust the picture and the text independently.
Note: you may need to add a track - just drag your clip into the grey area above the existing video tracks and a new track will be added; or Control-click in the grey area above the existing video tracks and then click Add Track.

Background controlled by navigation (Dynamic Background?)

Hello,
I would like to create an effect that loads a fullscreen background image that changes according to the navigation selection. The background will be replaced everytime the navigation is activated.

Start with creating a movieclip that contains different background images as movieclips. I cannot address the specifics of the transition effect used in your example site, but a simple version would be to use a Tween that manages the alpha properties of the movieclips so that one fades out (or in), and manage the depths to agree with the fade in or out approach... fade out, the one leaving is placed on top, fade in, the one appearing is placed on top.

Dynamic background color

I am trying to show a color strip. Color is stored as text (yellow,green etc..) in table.
When the select list is submitted the color should change.
I have created an item "Display as Text". I am setting
"HTML Table Cell Attributes" to bgcolor= :#P66_COLOR#
P66_COLOR is text item on this page which stores the color. This is not working. Any ideas??

Dynamic background causes System Crash / Re-Start?

Hi all,
Does anybody share the same expierience.
I am using ipad3, but I have seen same behaviour on the new ipad Air.
For example - I close a program and the system restarts.
Since (today) I use standard wallpaper it seems to be fixed.

Ding, ding, ding, we have a winner!
Here is what I did:
Restarted the Mac
Logged in with the Admin account
I got the same message as before, however in addition I was asked if I wanted to send a crash report to Apple. I was not asked to do this when I was logging in using my non-admin account.
Logged out of Admin and back in with my normal account. No error message.
Restarted the Mac again and logged in with my normal account. Again no error message.
So it looks as if sending the crash report is what cleared the message.

Dynamically Calling Background Image instead of standard setting

Hi all,
There is a requirement that, based on some condition I have to display shaded background image, say 'zimage1' .so as a result it should print in all pages. If condition fails, we have to display other image, say 'zimage2' in background. If both fails, no need to display background image.
If any body knew the solution please assist me in this regards.

Do any one knew how to set Dynamic Background (Watermark) Image instead of going for the standard setting in Page. (by selecting BACKGROUND PictureTab).
I want to pass a variable kind of information to the following fields during runtime.
ie.,
Path: Page->Background Picture.
Name: <Variable image name>
Object: GRAPHICS
ID: BMAP
and other properties like Ouput Mode, Position..etc.
That image should come at backgroudn for all the pages.

Since the ipad has dynamic moving backgrounds isn't it possible to have a slideshow background?

IIt should be possible to have a slide show background since Apple does support the format so I think if we somehow can find the format they used and chge a slideshow to that format we should be able to make slideshow backgrounds? I hope.

Hey Boxman, I'm guessing lack of interest. Think about it, once the novelty wears thin, just how much time would or do you really spend looking at your home page? Me personally, just enough to find the app I need and push the button. Besides, isn't the battery life on your iPod short enough for you? Dynamic backgrounds are one of the first things you turn off to conserve battery life! That said, it would be kinda cool, for a little while anyway. Like Stevejobsfan0123 stated go to Contact Us>Feedback, and tell Apple your opinion. Hope this helps. Cheers.

FMS for syncing background video

I have a question regarding which version of Flash Media Server will best serve the project I am currently working on and whether the approach I have in mind is possible with FMS.
The project envolves Flash Media Server syncing a dynamic background across multiple Flash Players running on separate computers on the same local network. One approach is to have FMS handle the variables and calculation on its side and communicate this to the other Flash Players (this I understand can be done with the Streaming Server).
The second approach is to have FMS execute ActionScript on its own side to create the dynamic background and then serve this out as a video stream to the other computers. (With this approach FMS can completely takeover the processing required to generate the background content and the other computers only need to play it back as video. Is this type of approach possible with FMS and, if yes, with which version.
If I am unclear about any part of my question, please feel free to ask. Thank you.

Scenario 1 is possible with any version of FMS. The caveat to that is, if using Streaming Server, you'll need a .swf client (or other client that can send AMF data over a netstream) to send the data across a netstream using netstream.send(). The reason for this is that Streaming Server cannot execute server side actionscript, so the data has to be published to the stream from the client side.
Scenario 2 is not possible with any version of FMS. FMS can't composite video or draw video frames, it can only serve pre-recorded video content or live streams published from client side applications.

How to load background image in canvas fast?

Make a friend with firebug & you could find yourself from where it is getting applied.
For the website you have given the background image it is using is [1] and it is getting set in css of body tag [2]. So Find the css at [3] and modify it OR replace [1] with other image with same file name.

Custom Master Page - CSS & Dynamic Display

I have created a css file and attached it using Site Settings> Master Page> Alternate CSS URL. This works really well and I get the customisations for the global navigation drop-downs as below including colours size etc.
For my drop-downs, I'm wanting three levels of fly-out. So, I created a custom master page from seattle.html and even before I made the change to
MaximumDynamicDisplayLevels="3" - I set this new page as the default. When I look at the site now, the CSS customisations are not showing (see below).
The new master page is not applying my css file. Any ideas why?

StageVideo play multiple videos in sequence (playlist) on iOS

Hi everyone!
I have to play severals locals videos in sequence with stageVideo (imagine an dynamic background wich runs an playlist).
Its runs very well (the MP4 videos play smoothly) but when the videos are switching appear an full sreen white frame for 3 seconds and later the second video start to play (on my iPhone4).

You can see in a real device like iPhone 4 (not desktop) an BLACK screen when swtiching videos (about 3 seconds).

XML shows in Flash, but doesn't show on server?

Hello.
I have a Flash website with 5 sections (Featured Work, News, About Me, Services, Contact). All the sections works fine, both in Flash and on the server, if the content isn't loaded from XML. But in the News section i use XML for loading the news.
If i test my movie in flash, the whole site works fine, and the XML News works perfect. But if i test the movie in a virtual server (like MAMP) or if i test it on my own server, the news section doesn't show.
I can't seem to find the problem?

I'm sorry to sound so stupid, but this is new to me.
I tried pasting the trace(MT2.newsNum,Number(MT2.newsNum)) in both out and in the for loop, and i still get the same trace "5 5"
I'm not really sure what to do, so i'll just try explaining my whole site to you:
I have my "main.fla" with three layers with actionsscript:
- Navigation Actions
     - Has a for loop that creates 6 textfields with clickevents and SWFAddress that changes between 6 frames in a MovieClip (SubNavBar).
- Positioning Actions
     - Positions the textfield buttons, the navigation bar, and the sub navigation bar in the SubNavBar movieclip, and places my dynamic background.
- XML
     - I can't explain the XML layer, so i have attached it.
The SubNavBar MovieClip has 6 frames. The 1 is empty, so the site is clear at first. In frame 2, 4 and 6 there is a for loop like in the navigation layer, so these layers have a sub navigation bar, that once again changes between some frames in a movieclip.
In frame 3 their is the news code i pasted earlier, and in frame 5 there isn't anything yes, but it should just be graphics.

Why can't Illustrator CS6/CC place PSD files properly?

I have been using Adobe products for over 15 years and one of the main features I use is placing PSD files within Illustrator and then creating my text so that is remains vector. Being a recent Creative Cloud Team member and seeing that both CS6 and CC do not allow a user to place a PSD inside of Illustrator without drastically reducing the image baffles me!!!
For example create a 500x500 pixel 300dpi document in Photoshop and save as PSD. Then open Illustrator and create a document the EXACT SAME SIZE. Go to file place and try to place the PSD you just created. Notice that it will not place at the correct size???
I don't see how this big of an oversight can be overlooked. I have also noticed that when using the PANTONE Solid Color palette within Illustrators Color Books, with persistence turned on also still does not work. This has been a problem I have noticed for over 5 years!!! Even with workspaces saved this problem persist to this day.
I am on a BRAND NEW iMac out of the box so it is not a computer or user issue.
Can someone please help me with a solution to the above issues. As a Creative Director for a marketing and advertising agency I don't see how these two issues have not perplexed others as they both are part of my day to day work flow and are now hendering how I perform my daily job as a designer.
Any solutions or tips or tricks to eliminate the above mentioned issues are greatly appreciated.

you are correct by stating that the file will open, but if you go to document setup and then go to edit art boards you can see that the image size is actually much smaller than the original that you created. this is a major bug as i create a lot of my dynamic backgrounds in photoshop and then place them in illustrator to do my typography. i have been using photoshop and illustrator for over 15 years so i can not see them deleting this feature or overlooking the fact that it does not work, but then again who knows!!! they did in fact delete the AOM from Bridge which was the one main feature that i used and loved about the program. for products with this price range i can not see why they would delete such a vital feature to the program.
again just looking for a solution and i appreciate your quick response to this. hopefully we will start something that adobe will actually see and help us out with. it has slowed my production within the programs down to a sluggish crawl
