Dynamic change layout(x/y) at runtime

Is it possible to change te layout at runtime, so i can change the x/y position of a field.
example: on my parameterform i give a x and y position of a field and then the field in showen on this position in de previewer.
Thanks
gj

Hi, Gert-Jan
No, you cannot do this (and probably never will).
Layout fields don't have any x/y properties that you can change, programatically or not, at designtime or at runtime.
Maybe you should use a different tool. Forms can do this, and also Graphics, but I would advise you not to start using Graphics at the moment.
Hope this helps,
Pedro.

  • Dynamically changing Layout Managers Constraints

    Hi,
    Does any one worked on Changing the layout Constraints dynamically before ?, If so Can you explain me your experience and how it can be possible ?
    Thanks,
    Chekks

    There are several ways of doing this, it really depends on your requirements as to which is suitable. (There are probably other ways of doing this as well).
    - Try Reports XML Customizations
    This is available in 6i and allows you to create a report dynamically on the fly. The template used will also allow you to change the paper size as well. The main limitation is that you are relying only on Reports defaulting to create the layout for you. The advantage is that you can store all your information to create the report in meta-data which can be driven by another tool.
    - Use lexical parameters for queries and format triggers
    Here, you have a fixed layout but dynamically change the query columns to the correct order. You would normally standardise on a "character" column type in order to do this. Even though the layout is fixed, you can use variable sized fields to push objects around. This can be difficult to setup.
    - Use several layouts
    You're reducing the options for the user, but you can have several layouts in the same report and turn them on/off. Effectively creating differing views of the same data.

    Can we change the layout of the report dynamically during runtime for example:the user should have flexibility to change the width, size , position of columns before the report is displayed & also he choose some fields not to display as per his discretion.

  • Dynamically change stage size on runtime

    Hi everyone,
    I need to change the stage size dynamically.
    When i try to do this............
    size_mc.onRelease = function(){
        trace(Stage.height);
        Stage.height += 100;
        trace(Stage.height);
    it comes always the current stage size.
    Thanks in advance

    You cannot change the width and height properties of the Stage using code--it must be done in the editor.  The width and height values can represent different things depending on the value you set for the scale mode, but you cannot reassign them to different values dynamically.
    The solution just offered to you is under the same rules, the stageWidth and stageHeight values cannot be assigned using code, but that code is AS3 code so it will not fit in your AS2 design in any case.
    The same goes for the followup offered in AS2.  You will notice the stage size is not being changed... it cannot be.  This is just a full screen design solution, but is not a soltuion to changing the stage size.  The stage size can only be changed manually in the authoring environment.  I don't know that the offering is answering what you are really trying to do, but it is not answering the titled task of dynamically changing the stage size

  • Dynamically change icon name of push button

    Hi,
    I would like to ask how to dynamically change the icon name attribute of a push button in dialog programming. What is the syntax for assigning an icon name during runtime?
    I am currently doing a multiple selection function for KNA1-KUNNR.
    Initially, the icon name is ICON_ENTER_MORE. When the user picks up more than one customer, it should automatically change to ICON_DISPLAY_MORE. How can I do this?
    here's the code i currently have:
    DESCRIBE TABLE kunnr_ran LINES l_kunnr.
    IF l_kunnr > 1.
          g_add_multiple = 'X'.
      BT_MULT_CUST-icon_name = 'ICON_DISPLAY_MORE'.
    ELSEIF l_kunnr = 1.
         CLEAR g_add_multiple.
      BT_MULT_CUST-icon_name = 'ICON_ENTER_MORE'.
    ENDIF.
    The name of my pushbutton is BT_MULT_CUST.
    The code in ** is not correct. I don't know the syntax in SAP. But that is how it is done in VB for example.
    Thank you.
    che =)

    If you have not found your answer already, please try the following:
    1)  In screen layout painter: for the pushbutton in question (i.e. pb_multi_select), mark the "Output field" on the program attributes tab in the attributes window for the pushbutton.  Make sure that its visible length is at least 2 too.  This will "gray out" the "Text" and other fields.
    2) In the TOP INCLUDE of the module program:  add a variable for the pushbutton that is of type "icons-text" and don't forget to include <icons>.  Below is an example
    INCLUDE <icon>
    DATA: pb_multi_select TYPE icons-text.
    3) In a module called in the PBO modules for the screen that needs its button changed, call the function "ICON_CREATE" and pass at minimum the name of the icon and the field that you specified in step 2.  Below is an example using the icon "ICON_DISPLAY_MORE", "ICON_ENTER_MORE", and a flag variable "MULTI_SEL_INFO_EXISTS" that indicates if any multiple selection information has already been entered.  It would be set by the program (not automatically, but by coding) prior to the "IF" statement:
    IF multi_sel_info_exists = 'X'.
      CALL FUNCTION 'ICON_CREATE'
          EXPORTING
             name = 'ICON_DISPLAY_MORE'
          IMPORTING
             result = pb_multi_select.
    ELSE.
      CALL FUNCTION 'ICON_CREATE'
          EXPORTING
             name = 'ICON_ENTER_MORE'
          IMPORTING
             result = pb_multi_select.
    ENDIF.
    You can change the button as you see fit with multiple different calls inside of "IF" or "CASE" statements.  Please see documentation for "ICON_CREATE" for other parameters.
    Hope this helps,
    Brian

  • How can I change the state of a runtime menu item programatically?

    Using LabView 6.1, I would like to change the state of the runtime menu item "Operate/Print at completion".
    The goal here is to print the VI front panel according to the operator choice (OK ->print, Cancel ->don't print)
    In a first release, I put a Stop function at the dialog output (activated by the cancel button) but this function stop the complete application and my idea where to stop only the VI in which the dialog is running.
    In a second release, I've tried to use the "Application
    control/Menu" but I receive every time an error:
    Error 88 occured at Cannot modify application menu item in the printtest.vi.
    Possible reasons: LabView, Runtime menu error...
    Any suggestion is appreciated.
    Re
    gards,
    phidu

    Instead of using the print at completion option, print the VI programatically if the user selects to print...open a reference to the VI you want to print and use an invoke node to print vi to printer.
    Alternatively create another VI with a layout optimized for printout, set it to print at completion and run and load the data into that VI if and only if the user OKs the print...

  • How to dynamically change the text of a TextObject with embedded DataField?

    Hi
    I'm trying to dynamically change the text of a TextObject at runtime, by using the .NET library. My problem is that if one or more DatabaseFieldDefinition is embedded inside my text, I'm unable to change the "static text" only, by keeping the field, e.g. I have :
    Text1 => "Contact Name: {Contact.Name}"
    and I'd like to change it to anything else like:
    Text1 => "Nom du Contact: {Contact.Name}"
    Half of my TextObject is static text while second part comes from the dataset.
    (of course the translation is dynamic - it is called at run-time and the new value to be set depends on the calling application language)
    If I simply modify the Text property of my TextObject, the {Contact.Name} embedded field is not evaluated anymore by the Crystal Engine, but considered as a single text.
    Using formulas or parameters looks quite difficult, because it means having many ones just for translation needs - I cannot control the way my users will create their reports and "force them" to use complex methods just in order to put a text and a value together...
    Anyone knows how to deal with that ?

    Only way I can think of doing this:
    1) Create a formula (call it lang) and enter the string "Contact Name" in it
    2) Place the  {Contact.Name} field next to the string
    3) So now you have:
    ContactName:  {Contact.Name}
    4) Check what localization you are after. If you need "Nom du Contact", change the lang formula so it shows "Nom du Contact" using the code below:
    Imports CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine
    Imports CrystalDecisions.Shared
    Public Class Form1
    Inherits System.Windows.Forms.Form
    Dim Report As New CrystalReport1()
    Dim FormulaFields As FormulaFieldDefinitions
    Dim FormulaField As FormulaFieldDefinition
    Private Sub Form1_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load
    FormulaFields = Report.DataDefinition.FormulaFields
    FormulaField = FormulaFields.Item(0)
    FormulaField.Text = "[formula text]"
    CrystalReportViewer1.ReportSource = Report
    End Sub
    I realize this may not give you consistent spacing as the translations may have strings of differnt length. Perhaps someone has other idea(s)...

  • Dynamically change CAN message payload length in XNET

    It took me a while to figure out that when I send 4 bytes into the nxWriteFrame routine when it's defined as an 8 byte message in the DBC, that the message never makes it onto the bus.  Is there a way to dynamically change the payload length of a CAN message at runtime without stopping and starting the session again?

    Hi KavehV,
    It is possible to dynamically change the payload lengthduring RunTime but not without starting and stopping the session. In fact, all changes to the payload length, when done dynamically, is done to the copy of the database in memory as opposed to the one on disk, so whenever your application stops running, the changes are discarded. If you need to change the payload length, you would need to essentially do so before you create a session by opening the database, and modifying the copy that's in memory.

  • Dynamic table layout in Smartform

    Hi,
    Is there a way to have a dynamic table layout in smartform?
    The idea is to be able to print any kind of table with fieldsymbols without having to define the table layout/cell layout at design time, or if it's not possible choose one of the predefined line types at runtime. Please don't post how to print out a table using fieldsymbols, this is not the topic of this question.
    So I guess you'd need to choose the table line type at runtime or even better, create a table line type at runtime. Is this even possible?
    Thanks

    hi
    good
    Tables
    You can include static and dynamic tables into a Smart Form. Dynamic tables enable you to display tables whose size is determined only at the moment of their output by the number of the table items to be displayed. Table functions are:
    ·        Line feeds in individual table cells
    ·        Event-controlled output of table headings and footers
    ·        Integrated calculation of grand totals and subtotals
    ·        Colored boxes and shadings in tables

  • Changing input parameters at GP-Runtime (Web Dynpro)

    Hi,
    I'm searching for a solution to change the input paramters for an action (at GP-Runtime) in a web dynpro application.
    Is it possible to do something?
    I cannot found something in the API, which solves the probelem.
    Thanks for your helping hands
    Steve

    How many variations of the input parameters do you have.  Could you give more details on the use case?  Did you try the GP public API? It is capable of dynamically changing the input parameters.
    Are you using the webdynpro GP-Interface?
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/50d74ada-0c01-0010-07a8-8c118d408e59
    If you have a limited number of use cases, then you could create a Block type "Alternatives" and then create a WebDynpro callable object for each permutation of the input parameters.

  • Dynamically Change UIBBs in GAF. Is it possible ?

    Hello,
    I have a query in FPM to which I would like to draw your attention to.
    Can I dynamically change my UIBBs within a single mainstep in FPM GAF ? if so, which method can help me do this  ?
    I created a single Web dynpro Component with 5 component configurations.
    I am controlling the visibility of several UI elements within this single component through these component configurations.
    Each configuration refers to a business scenario.
    I configured this single interface view at the UIBB level with the configuration name for a main step.
    I was able add multiple uibbs at this level with different configuration names.
    Now, I do not know how to toggle between these UIBBs?. I do not  want to create multiple variants
    because all the other main steps are same for all the business scenarios.
    Thanks for your time.
    Regards,
    Kiran

    Hello Kiran,
    This is achieveable. You need to implement the IF_FPM_GAF_CONF_EXIT WD interface in your AppCC. This interface provides a method OVERRIDE_EVENT in the component controller of your AppCC. This method has an importing parameter IO_GAF which has various methods to help you change the configuration of the application at runtime and also the UIBB's on a particular mainstep.

  • Change item programmatic skin at runtime

    AS3 lets you programatically skin a class. For example, on
    MenuBar control. you can tell an instance of a menuBar which skin
    to use when a mouse clicks on it, with the following line:
    myMenuBar.SetStyle("itemDownSkin",
    myProgrammaticSkinClassName);
    However, let's say you want to change to another class after
    the menubar has already been created? At this point the SetStyle
    function has no effect as the menubar has continues to display a
    cached appearance of itself. It seems your only option is to
    destroy the existing control and recreate it with the new style.
    Is there a more straightforward way to dynamically change the
    skin of a control after it has been created?
    Thanks to anyone out there! ed

    Hello,
    You cannot change the width of a field at runtime.
    You can use the elasticity property. The field size will be
    increased according to its content.
