Dynamic Changes in Smart Form ( From External Source )

Whether the SF layout attributes can be changed from the external loading program dynamically .

Hi Raja,
As far as my understanding goes this cannot be achieved by an external program but what you can do is that you can some flags that you can set in the print program and when you pass them to the smart form function module(the function module generated by the smartform) you can decide whether certain windows need to be displayed or not by giving a condition to them. You can have two windows with diferrent attributes and then switch between them with the help of flags acting as conditions.

1.Create another New characteristic called ZPrice .Give the description and go directly to Addnl Data Tab.Here in the table name Enter "MMCOM" and in the Field Name Enter "VKOND" at CT04 & save .
2.Now Goto CT04 in change mode, for Zprice Go to values tab and select RED &.Goto Extras-> Object Dependencies->Editor and then select Procedure & define condition.
3. Goto Inforecord Choose Extras ->Variant conditions.
Enter a variant key. Choose the desired condition type and specify the period during which the discounts and surcharges are to apply.
Enter the amount and save.

How to merge key field from external source system with SAP R/3 master

Hi,
In SAP BW 7.0 system, our scenario is Master Data for 0GL_ACCOUNT is coming from SAP R/3 alongwith the Transactional data records for standard FI cubes. Then, one more set of transaction data is coming from external source system, a flat file, into another custom DSO(ZDSO_FI), which also has this GL Account field.
This flat file's GL account, GL_file, has to be basically mapped/merged with the standard 0GL_ACCOUNT field so that at the time of loading the transactional data for custom DSO, ZDSO_FI (with transformation mapping GL_file > 0GL_ACCOUNT), system automatically refers to the 0GL_ACCOUNT master data to load these incoming transactional values, from the external flat file system. How can this be done?
To illustrate the scenario, say I have 5 records in 0GL_ACCOUNT, loaded from SAP R/3 into SAP BW-

Now suppose if my flat file has following sample transactional data, to be uploaded in SAP BW ZDSO_FI-

Then after uploading this transactional data in ZDSO_FI (with transformation mapping GL_file > 0GL_ACCOUNT), the 0GL_ACCOUNT data becomes as below-

So note that the system did not refer the incoming GL's from flat file, although the field is mapped to 0GL_ACCOUNT in transformation, to the already available master data. Rather created 2 new data rows for the GL accounts coming from external system. Because of this I am not able to perform the calculations common from standard FI cube and ZDSO_FI, with GL account as key field. I need to synchronise these data values based on GL Account to proceed with further calculation and am badly stuck.
Request if anyone can please throw some light on how to achieve this seemingly simple requirement?

I have basically the same setup, except on a Mac Mini. I am unable to reproduce your problem. Double check that you are copying the original text in the first place, and then make sure you are pasting into a text layer as you cannot paste into a regular Photoshop layer -- nothing will happen. Create a text layer by clicking on a regular layer with the text tool, the T in the tool box. The new layer will show up in the layers panel identified by the first line of the text.

Dynamic picture in Smart forms

i need to include the picture of am employee dynamically in the smart form deponding on the personnel no selected .so each page will need to include the picture. how to create graphics node dynamically / assign the picture .
can any one tell me the logic .

Hi Senthil,
Create a graphic node in the Smartform and under the tab 'General Attributes' fill the Name, Object and Id with variables (e.g. &NAME&, &OBJECT& and &ID&) and fill these parameters to get the picture you want at runtime.

I have a requirement in my SMARTFORM page development that i have to place a dynamic graphics and printout.
Does anyone know how to control the dynamic graphics in Smart Forms?

Hello,
You can call the graphic dynamically as per your requirement by calling the Graphic dynamically, For ex: Name of the graphic: &WA_ITAB-FIELD1& ( which is a field of IntTab ITAB taken into Work area WA_ITAB ).
Also please note that you cannot print / overlay text in a diamond, perhaps you can have a work around to print the graphic and beside the graphic you print the Customer short name. for this you can either define a table / template.

Open iProcurement Smart form from a Third Party System

I have a requirement to open the iProcurement smart form from a third party system. We have the Single Sign on functionality so the user can log into the oracle apps without entering the credentials.
Please share if someone has prior knowledge on that.

If the ICX_SESSION is already available then the form(I am assuming you are refering to a web based form here) should open directly if the function should be accessible to the user logged in. When you say your custom application is included in Oracle apps are you launching these pages from the Ebiz home page through menus and functions ?

Can Disk Utility get SMART status from external drives?

I recently updated my backup plan with a NewerTech quad-interface dock and a WD Caviar Green hd. I'm using the FW800 interface to connect to my iMac (10.6.7) Everything works perfectly, as expected. I noticed, though, that Disk Utility cannot report the SMART status on the new WD drive. DU simply says "Not Supported" under SMART Status.
Is Disk Utility telling me that it doesn't read SMART status from external drives? Or is it telling me that the new drive doesn't support SMART (which I would find highly unusual)? And, if it's Disk Utility that can't read the status, are there any third-party apps that can report the SMART status on an external drive?

Unfortunately I cannot speak to the NewerTech enclosure, but in principle it appears to be possible to have SMART information displayed even for external drives if the enclosure's bridge controller chip allows it.
My experience:
I've used two MacPower Pleiades FW800/400/USB/eSATA enclosures for several years and I've now supplemented them with two additional inXtron enclosures. They all work as expected daisy-chained to the iMac.
The interesting thing is that the inXtron enclosures came with a CD with some software on it ("Smart AP") which is not available for download, notably a Dashboard Widget for displaying actual and maximum temperatures, total hours of operation, start/stop cycles, drive model and serial number.
This widget is complete garbage, though – it is a nauseating nightmare of extreme over-design at the expense of even basic usability:

To make matters even worse, it can only display the above information for the first external drive connected.
BUT: This Widget internally calls a command line utility which does the actual parameter retrieval, and that one can be called from the terminal as well.
So after installing the software from CD and effectively discarding the Widget, I checked out the command line utility in the Terminal and found that this utility actually reported data about ALL my enclosures, both the inXtron and the MacPower ones (there seems to be firmware compatibility across these):
(The '$' is supposed to be Terminal's bash prompt – type in only the rest of the respective line.)

Each line reports the following for one connected enclosure:

The drives are reported first USB, then FireWire drives, each in the order of first connection / mounting.

This reports the mounted disk names (referring not to the volume names but to the internal Unix names as in /dev/[drive]); Numbering is in connection / mounting order, the actual sequence is as always USB drives, then FireWire drives.

This reports the connection interface for each drive in the same sequence as all other commands.

This might report the firmware revision or something like that.
These are the commands I know about, and they apply only to the "Smart AP" software supplied with current inXtron enclosures, but it may be possible that other brands use it as well.
I have not been able to identify information about the self-test (early(?) failure warning), but it might be contained as well in the data reported above.
As always, your mileage may vary and you should never do such experiments without FIRST making sure you've got backups of your data and that such backup is not connected during experimentation!
Maybe this can help some people getting the information they need; And maybe there are similar capabilities with other enclosures. At the very least it demonstrates that with the proper firmware in the enclosures themselves and some software on the Mac it IS possible to get at least some of the SMART information from the drive in an external FireWire- or USB-connected enclosure.
None of that is fed into the system's "official" SMART mechanism, though, so no luck using standard mechanisms or applications for it. It's strictly a command-line affair (deservedly disregarding the mishappen Widget).

I need to trigger a smart form from a user exit.
The tcode name is COR1.there is a exit for this tocde.
This exit should be used to trigger the smart form.
User exit to be executed upon saving the Process order number.

Hi,
You can write a Custom program i.e. the driver program for your smart form.
And submit that program in the exit. i.e. use the submit statement to run that program.

Trigger Smart form from Account Management

Hi Experts,
I need to triger a smart form form accout management screen.
I am trying implementing BADI , PARTNER_UPDATE , Method CHANGE_BEFORE_UPDATE.
I am able to implement this in GUI and sucessfully able to call my smartform. Now the issue lies in calling this Smartform on portal page.
This BADI gets triggered but the smart form is not displayed.
Any inputs on this.

Copy Smart Forms from 4.6 to ERP

Hi,
I wonder if it is possible to transport/copy some Smart Forms from one system (4.6c) to another system (ERP).
I thought of exporting the data from our 4.6 system, using the transport manager, and import it into the ERP system.
Not tested so far and just wanted to get some statements or hints on how to handle this.

You will not be able to download smartform in 4.6c to a local file since there is no facility provided for this 4.6c version.
This kind of facility is only available from 4.7 version only.
So U cannot download the smartform to a local file.

Querying data from External Source from FORMS

I have a form that is built based on Oracle tables.
But I need to get data from external Data source from within Forms and use it fro validation.
I need to execute a Select statement via ODBC from within Forms procedures. This is going to a SQL Server DB to get some information.
Any thoughts?

What version of forms do you use? If you use forms 6i, take a look at the EXEC_SQL package. You can access oracle databases and ODBC databases (using OCA) independently of the main database connection -- well, I never tried but that is what the documentation says.
I am not sure about version 9i... the package is there, but I could not find anything in the help about it (what is not a good sign...)

We have a business case to choose different logos based on a condition. This invloves significatn effort from Change mangement point of view.
Is there any solution by which I don't need to change any thing in smart forms but able to derive the graphic dynamically.

I did as follow in my requirement... i have to print logo based the company code.. for this
i have created 1 graphic window, then given the name as<b> &V_LOGO& then press the Button right arrow (looks like ">").</b> so that system will understand the name will comes form vareiable V_LOGO(is type char20. rest is same.
but some how we need to pass the logo name for this i have written code in GOBALDIFINATION-->INITIALIZATION tab...
