Dynamic content and Generating in many formats from RH HTML

Hi,
Working in RH HTML
1. I was looking for info/thread which gives an idea on how
to have one content used in many projects and chaning that on
content would effect each project. ie. If I have a HTML project
created and need a specific topic to display another topic/html
file outside that project, how can I do this? And also when I
change anything in the master topic/html it should effect all other
projects were am using this file. OR if this is not possible how
can I get another topic/html file to display in a different
project?
2. I generated my HTML project into many formats e.g.
PDF,WORD,HTML,WEBHELP and so on.
Am using a template (.htt ) to add Header and Footer to all
the topics in the project. But when I go and view the pdf,word file
the header and footer is not there. Though I can see this header
and footer in the .chm file created
How can I make this header and footer visible in the pdf,word
files?

Take a look at the topics on Customising | Terminology and
Printing on my sites. It covers what can be done.
In short there are ways of getting the same info into more
than one topic in one project but not more than one. However, the
drawbacks may not suit.
You will lose headers and footers when you generate printed
output.

Problem with "PL/SQL Dynamic Content" and displaying rows

hi,
im new to APEX, and pl/sql [but not web dev or sql].
ive found the bit in APEX that lets you add data from your DB using the 'CREATE' > 'PL/SQL Dynamic Content'.
maybe there's a better option for people who dont know pl/sql? i dont know?
however, i think i can getting working with a little bit of help but im stumbling around in the dark a bit here.
ok so this is the pl/sql ive come up with to show three example values on page 23 of my aplplication:

The easiest (and best) way to "display rows" is using a report. Dynamic PL/SQL regions are more complex and are required much less frequently.

Generate piped-delimited formate from xml formate.

Does anybody know how to create a parser which will take any XML file and convert it into a pipe-delimited format?
I need to generate a pip-delimited format file from a xml file.

XML describes a tree structure. You won't be able to convert it into a pipe-delimited structure unless there's additional structural elements there sufficient to allow it to describe trees. If you were thinking of just having newlines delimit records and pipes delimit fields, that probably won't cut it. You could list data redundantly or use blank fields to help describe the tree structure, but that may or may not be what you want.

The point is that you have to decide what format you want, exactly.
BTW I once did a project like this that created an HTML table (another square format) from an XML document. We used SAX. It was pretty straightforward if you just throw a stack in there. But again you have to flesh out the requirements of what the output format will be before you can proceed.

Will 'Erase All Content and Settings' remove Apple ID from my iPad 2?

Hi all.
I've read that Erase All brings the iPad back to how it was when it left the shop. But I need to comfirm something 'cos here's the situation:
1. I just sold my mum's iPad to a third party shop. All done, or so I thought.
2. I get a text asking for my Apple password so they can format the iPad.
3. I reply that it's not needed for Reset All/Erase All. (NOTE: No Passcode was set on iPad)
4. I get a text today saying: "But we need to change the app store. Otherwise if any other person buy it they cannot create new account. Maybe you can come and type it. After that we can reset in front of you."
Does the shop really need my password? I was under the impression that Erase All would do a factory reset and clear my Apple ID from the IPad too. Then the next person just sets up their own ID.
By the way, this is not a shop I really trust which is why I'm being so cautious. Also, I don't fancy going all the way there again.

Generate Microsoft execl format from developer report

how can i generate my report in excel format. MY cliec=nt needs me to give them my oracle report in microsoft excel soft copy.
how do i do this pls

One way to do this would be to use PL/SQL from a button on the report. In the when-button-trigger add something like:

How do i fix a file where relinking or updating file is too slow and generating 60+MB pdf from a 4mb Indesign file?

I have an 18 page files linking several pdf images and working with this file is horribly slow. These pdf images(total of 15) easily take a min to relink or update (pdf's are at max 2mb but majority are less than 1mb). The Indesign file is only 4mb but when i export or print to pdf I get a 60-70mb file. Exporting or printing these 18 pages easily takes 30 min. I can't use the file with a higher display quality unless i have the patience of watching a plant grow on that day. I've read a majority of ways why InDesign would be slow. At work im operating Windows 7, Indesign 6 and I have 32MB of RAM. Extremely frustrating and reminding me of the days of dial up internet. I've already done a SAVE AS and tried to reduce linked files image size and to no avail has not helped. I was able to get my 72mb pdf file to reduce to 6mb after using Adobe Acrobat and getting rid of the hidden information but I lose alot of quality in the linework. I am guessing its because these pdfs are generated from Revit or Autocad is why it might be holding onto some hidden info. So how do i make this file work faster (relink,export,pdf etc)?

Just to note as well, InDesign only links to files, there's no embedding, you would see a 4mb file, but if it's linked to a 10mb pdf and it has to include all that PDF in the final file then it will be circa 14mb file.
What you have is a vector heavy PDF and there's no real way to reduce that without losing quality.
You may have better joy by opening the linked PDFS in acrobat and using File>Print and choose Adobe PDF (or another method) to basically refry the CAD pdfs.
I'd do this with a copy of all the files though just in case something goes drastically wrong.
Frankly, I feel it's the nature of how CAD pdfs are made that's causing the downfall here, refrying these and Printing these files to PDF removes a lot of the complicated things happening in CAD files and makes a very dulled down PDF version.
Once you've done this then try FIle>Export from indesign to make your pdf.

How to have dynamic content in a Keynote presentation (ie from XML file) ?

I need to update automatically the content of a Keynote presentation from an extrenal file (ie XML). The update can be executed when the presentation is launched, it is not necessary to do it during it runs.

If it will all fit in memory read the file as you are doing now appending everything into a StringBuilder. Then use the reverse() method of that class to obtain your output.

Extracting some content and rollup or thumbnail image from article

Hi,
As content query web part doesn't do horizontal display, I am writing some c# code to accomplish this. I have a subsite which contains article pages with images. I am trying to extract a part of the content as a the summmary and display the associated image
at the top of the summary. Any ideas of what code I could use to accomplish this? At the moment, my code includes the following which allows me to get the name of each article page.

What do you mean by horizontal display? you can create content search webpart and customize the display template and item display template to view the content in any format you want.

ID CS5: How to include additional text into a table of contents and how to hide text from it?

I have the following problem:
1. I'd like to include additional Information in my table of contents which I don't want to appear in the text I refer to.
Example: I do have a picture with a caption saying:
picture 1: Blablabla.
And I want to have the source of the picture as additional information in the table of contents:
picture 1........Blablabla (source: thisandthat)........23
Still I don't want this additional content to disappear, as soon as I update the table of contents!
How can I achieve that?
2. And how can I have this the other way round?
Let's say I want the source in the caption, but not in the table of contents.
So the caption says:
picture1: Blablabla (source: thisandthat)
but the table of content says:
picture 1........Blablabla.....................23
I was trying to achieve this by two different praograph styles in the caption. One which would be listed, and one which wouldn't be listed, but this of course resulted in always having two paragraphs in the caption, which I'd like to avoid:
picture1: Blablabla
(source: thisandthat)
Any solution to this?

Sorry, missed the second part of the question. I think the only way to do that is to use invisible "dummy" text of some sort, and if you're going to do it for some entries, you might as will do it for all.
One of the easiest ways is to put the text you want inthe TOC into an anchored frame attached to the actual heading in the text (so it moves along with it). Use a unique paragraph style for this text, and include this style, not the one applied to the headings inthe text, to make the TOC. I usually use a character color of red to make it satnd oout so I don't forget it's there, and the position on the page isn't really critical. Select the anchored frame, open the Attributes panel and make it non-printing. You'll see it in editing mode, the TOC will pick it up (as will variables, if required) but it will disappear on output.

Print report parameter and column headers PDF format from Discoverer Viewer

From Discoverer Viewer 4i I'm presently using the printer friendly version to print my workbooks. I would like to know if their is a way to include report parameters and print column headers on every page.

Running gif animation and a random image output from an html button, HELP!!

Trying to click (onClick) an animated gif image of an on/off switch to start a second animation which is located on a different location on the web-page (a 7-frame animation of a generator with moving parts) immediately followed by a random image selection function placing an image in a 3rd location on the page (next to the generator image). The random images are supposed to look like the result of the generator animation---the item that “pops out” of the generator.
We thought the process to achieve this would be an “OnClick” on the on/off switch-animated-gif to start two javascript functions (generato animation function & random image function).
To further complicate matters, we are doing this website in iWeb. We’re using iWeb SEO Tool to add the javascript to the header and HTML snippet in iWeb to place the HTML code. Not sure we’re actually doing the snippet right though---is it supposed to relate to the images---or is it separate? When the gifs are place on the iweb page, they work in the browser upon page load---the “on-click” & the random image function are NOT working...so we know we’ve done something(s) wrong.
We’re thinking that we’re probably missing some code that describes where the 3 different image-spots are on the page (image #1 is the on/off switch gif, image#2 is the generator gif, image#3 is the generator output.png)....or just aren’t coding the string of functions correctly---or maybe our strategy for achieving this is just no correct (?).
Here is the code we have tried that didn’t work. We desperately need a solution quickly and are open to any/other ideas for how to accomplish this. THANKS YOU in advance for your help!!!:

SO, you want to print the output of the procedure in pdf format? If so, you can try apex Report Query feature. You can find a number of examples for the same in this forum and in the internet:

Or, have a IR based on a collection; the collection based on a function returning query. And then, use the IR's generic download option to print reports.

Creating a dynamic content link in Eloqua HTML editor

I'm using dynamic content to populate a link on an HTML landing page. I drag and drop the dynamic content, and the following code shows up:

But when I save the page, the editor changes the HTML to this:

which breaks the link. How can I format the dynamic content so the Eqolua editor doesn't screw it up?

How to pass values in dynamic structure and then dynamic table

we have a Z structure in se11 holding 10 fields. But at run time i need to create a dynamic table with more than 10 records.
I am able to create the structure and corresponding internal table. Now the issue is i have to populate this dynamic structure with some values and then append it to dynamic internal table. Since the dynamic table type is any its not allowing an index operation like modify etc etc.
Could anyone help me in passing the values . I have searched in SDN . everyone created a dynamic table and then populated it values from some standard or custom tables.Then assigning the component of structure and displaying the output. but in my situation i have no such values stored in any tables. i populate values based on certain calculation.

Emails & Dynamic Content

Hello,
I'm pretty new to Eloqua and the Eloqua REST API.
I have a use case where I want to be able to pull emails with dynamic content out of Eloqua, translate them, then put them back in.
Can anybody give me some guidance here as to whether this is possible using the REST API, and which API calls I should be using to achieve this?
Any tips greatly appreciated.
