Dynamic Content Conversion

Hi there
I have a scenario that produces different output structures. All of the comes from the same MM and goes to the same output file which is a fixed length flat file. Lets say I have 3 types of output:
Type1:
Name
Surname
Type2
Name
Surname
Address
Type3
Name
Surname
Address
Phone
How can I design my content conversion that it would handle these 3 types? each type has got a different number of fields. Like I mentioned this must be fixed length.
Thanks,
Jan

Hello,
@Chandra
Hi,
I think you can have look at below and try to implement in your scenario.
Use the following parameters if you want to influence the behavior of the conversion routine for inbound structures that deviate from the configuration.
u25CF NameA.missingLastfields
If the inbound structure has less fields than specified in the configuration then the XML outbound structure is created as follows:
u25CB ignore
Outbound structure only contains the fields in the inbound structure
Warm Regards,
Chandra.
NameA.missingLastfields is not supported at receiver CC, i have tried with this, but failed. Could you check this again.
I have tried the following it works ok.
   In FCC, use the follwing parameters:
        RecordSetStructure: Type (Incase type is your parent node)
        Type. fieldSeparator = , (it may by any thing #, etc)
        Type.endSeparator = 'nl'.
Inorder to produce the same output strucutr in flat file like below
Name,Surname,,
Name,Surname,Address,
Name,Surname,Address,Phone
Check this link where i have explained how to solve this issue.

  • FIle Content Conversion Problem in IDOC-XI-File Scenario

    Dear All,
    I am doing IDOC-XI-FILE scenario.
    I am facing one problem related to File Content Coversion.My requirement was to generate a dynamic file like <b>%store_code%_%current_date%_sitemaster.xml</b> , I have completed the dynamic generation successfully .
    Now there is slight change in the requirement ,<b>we have to suppress the current_date node of the xml content</b> . i have tried to suppress the current_date using these <b>DATE.fieldFixedLengths 0 , Date.fixedLengthTooShortHandling Cut</b> , But I am unable to suppress it Can some body provide me the details on this .
    The output xml version generated by Reciever file adapter is as below :
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
    - <ns0:MT_SITE_MASTER xmlns:ns0="http://sample-xitest.com/sitemaster">
    - <SITE_DATA>
    <STORE_CODE>N002</STORE_CODE>
    <TITLE_MEDI>Company</TITLE_MEDI>
    <STORE_NAME>Mount Road</STORE_NAME>
    <STREET>Chennai</STREET>
    <COUNTRY>IN</COUNTRY>
    <SALES_TAX_NO>12345678910</SALES_TAX_NO>
    </SITE_DATA>
    </ns0:MT_SITE_MASTER>
    Plz provide me the code I have to write in the file content conversion .
    Thanks in advance
    Regards
    Prabhat

    If u see my earlier reply, I mentioned that u can not suppress the field from the one node.i.e Form SITE_DATA data type u can not suppress the field called CURRENT_DATE.
    My suggestion is that , modify the Data type in such a way that you will be having two nodes as I have mentioned earlier.  Then use the Suppress Logic for the Current Date.
    So it will look like this-
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
    - <ns0:MT_SITE_MASTER xmlns:ns0="http://sample-xitest.com/sitemaster">
    - <SITE_DATA>
    <STORE_CODE>N002</STORE_CODE>
    <TITLE_MEDI>Company</TITLE_MEDI>
    <STORE_NAME>Mount Road</STORE_NAME>
    <STREET>Chennai</STREET>
    <COUNTRY>IN</COUNTRY>
    <SALES_TAX_NO>12345678910</SALES_TAX_NO>
    </SITE_DATA>
    <CURR_DATE>
       <CURRENT_DATE>20051105</CURRENT_DATE>
    </CURR_DATE>
    </ns0:MT_SITE_MASTER>
    So ur SITE_DATA is not having a field called CURRENT_DATE. This field is in separate node (segment ) called CURR_DATE. Now u can use the Suppress Logic for the same like this.
    CURR_DATE.fieldFixedLengths - 0
    CURR_DATE.fixedLengthTooShortHanling - Cut
    And in your Variable Substitution you can use the date from the other segment called CURR_DATE.
    Hope this solves ur problem.

    Moorthy

  • File Content Conversion ( avoid fields in conversion)

    Hi all
                        An IDoc to File scenario , I am doing file content conversion in receiver File adapter.
    my message type for file  2 HEADER each having its own substructure
    Like    1header
                       fieldA
              2header
                       fieldC
                       fieldD
    I want the "<b>1header and its 1 subelement not be converted in file content conversion"  </b>
    because  its used for dynamic file name configuration, so i do'nt want it to be written on file.
    Regards
    Ashutosh.r

    Rawat,
    Yes I know you will get that error. That is the reason why I have told you to add another parameter fixedLengthTooShortHandling as Cut. So add one more parameter in your file receiver communicaion channel: Also I hope ASFD0101 is your strcuture not the field in the strcuture.
    ASFD0101.fixedLengthTooShortHandling :  Cut
    Then I think it should work like a boom.

  • SFTP Sender - content conversion to read Header & detail and control record

    Hi Experts,
        I'm just beginner in SAP PI. Just would like to know possibility for below requirement for my further reseach
    Soure file format fix length  with 3 different format(H,D,T)
    As example
    H001TestHeader1
    D001001TestDetail11
    D001002TestDetail21
    T2
    H002TestHeader2
    D002001TestDetail21
    T2
    The requirement detail :
    1. There are multiple set of H,D,T per files
    2.  T line is the record count of total D line per each H set.  for example as green font we have 2 D line, So T show T2
    3.  If number in T line is not match with actual D line, then only these set should be filter out and write to error file and send email alert. for example as red font we have 1 D line, but T show T2
    4.  If number in T line is match with actual D line, then these set will be write to result file.
    As I know that content  conversion may be support this requirement for separate records set for H/D/T but I don't have idea how to handle requirement no.3 and 4, Is it need ccBPM? Please help to provide some overview guideline for my further research. Thank you.

    As I know that content  conversion may be support this requirement for separate records set for H/D/T
    >>> For the  FCC, you might be using Message Transformation bean and unfortunately MTB doesn't provide the option to split the message i.e. " Records set per message".
    If you go for two step approach i.e.  then you can use this option to split the records.
    1) pass through interface -> SFTP -> NFS
    2) NFS(Standard FCC) -> Your target system
    I don't have idea how to handle requirement no.3 and 4, Is it need ccBPM? Please help to provide some overview guideline for my further research. Thank you.
    >>> If you can split the file for each recordset i.e.  one set of H/D/T then you can handle the validation part in message mapping.
    If T has valid number of records then execute the mapping set the filename  and directory to "result file" locations using dynamic configuration.
    If T has invalid number of records then execute the mapping set the filename  and directory to "error file" location.
    To trigger the email from the message mapping refer to the below blogs -

  • Ignore fields in File Content Conversion

    Hi all,
    I need to read first 9 fields in Content conversion from text file and ignore all the others.The problem is I don't know exactly the number of fields(it varies from file to file).
    I try to use the following in my content conversion:
    item.fieldSeparator = ;
    item.fieldNames = "Names of item fields"
    item.lastFieldsOptional = NO
    ignoreRecordSetName = true
    Now it works with files with 9 fields,but doesn't with more than 9...
    I tried with item.lastFieldsOptional = YES as well but it didn't help...
    Anyone any suggestions?
    Thanks in advance

    The problem is I don't know exactly the number of fields(it varies from file to file).
    >>>> then how do you write your FCC ? because the mandatory parameters fieldFixedLengths or fieldSeparator and the fieldNames will expect a defined set of values and not dynamic.maybe you can read the file record row kind and then  extract the fields u need.
    item.lastFieldsOptional
    >>>
    this is to ignore only the last field.
    <i>xml.lastFieldsOptional=YES|NO
    This parameter specifies whether the last fields can be omitted (YES) or not (NO) in a CSV structure. If you do not make a specification, the default value is NO.</i>

    Hi Raj,
    Im just 4months working in SAP XI, and i still consider myself as a beginner.
    I've only used Receiver File Adapter in my scenario (NO Sender File Adapter)
    These are the configurations i've made in the Receiver File Comm Channel.
    For the Parameters TAB:
    File Receiver
    Transport Protocol: File System (NFS)
    Message Protocol: File Content Conversion
    Adapter Engine: Integration Server
    File Access Parameters:
    Target Directory: * specified directory
    File Name Scheme: .csv
    Processing Parameters:
    File Construction Mode: Create
    Write Mode: Directly
    File Type: Text
    Adapter-Specific Message Attributes
    - Use Adapter-Specific Message Attributes
    - File Name
    Run Operating System Command After Message Processing
    Command Line: chmod 664 %F
    Content Conversion Parameters:
    Recordset Structure: SLI
    SLI.addHeaderLine: 3
    SLI.headerLine: PERIO;EAN;ILN;....
    SLI.field Separator: ;
    SLI.endSeparator: 'nl'
    Adapter Status: Active
    For the Identifiers TAB: (i've had no configs on that)
    For the Module TAB:
    Processing Sequence:
    Number: 1
    Module Name: CallSapAdapter
    Type: Local Enterprise Bean
    Module Key: 0
    That's all in my configs in Receiver File Adapter.
    Is it ok if you check this?
    I've read a SAP Blogs, https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/weblogs?blog=/pub/wlg/6400. [original link is broken] [original link is broken] [original link is broken]
    I've read in it that there must be set-up in the Module TAB to get the Filename in the Dynamic Configuration.
    Kindly advise.
    Thank you very much for your usual support.

  • Problem with "PL/SQL Dynamic Content" and displaying rows

    hi,
    im new to APEX, and pl/sql [but not web dev or sql].
    ive found the bit in APEX that lets you add data from your DB using the 'CREATE' > 'PL/SQL Dynamic Content'.
    maybe there's a better option for people who dont know pl/sql? i dont know?
    however, i think i can getting working with a little bit of help but im stumbling around in the dark a bit here.
    ok so this is the pl/sql ive come up with to show three example values on page 23 of my aplplication:
    BEGIN
    SELECT ID, NAME, OWNER
    FROM COM_MAILSHOTS
    INTO :P23_ID, :P23_NAME, :P23_OWNER;
    END;
    im getting the error:

    The easiest (and best) way to "display rows" is using a report. Dynamic PL/SQL regions are more complex and are required much less frequently.

    And especially how the FCC has to be configured for this scenario?

    Well Christian,
    There is one thing, eithere you can use fieldSeparator or fieldFixedLengths you can not use both together. So in your case do not use fieldSeparator.
    The complete FCC is almost same as given in the blog in my previous reply. See the final output in that blog and create your data type accordingly. e.g.
    Recordset
    ------Item 0...unbound
    --------Field1 0..1
    --------Field2 0..1
    --------Field3 0..1
    --------Field8 0..1

    As per the client req I'm going with FCC. The file is picking fine with the FILE. But not picking with the FCC.
    The parameters which I gave are as follows.
    SOURCE I feel it is fine since file is picking fine and keeping the same for FCC also.
    PROCESSING
    QOS -- Exactly Once
    Poll Interval -- 10
    Processing Mode -- Delete
    Empty-File Handling -- Process empty files
    CONTENT CONVERSION Parameters

    Document NSpace -- http://OTO-Continue.com
    Recordset Name -- SEND
    Recordset Structure -- SEND,*
    Recordset Sequence -- Ascending
    Recordset per Message -- 0
    And in the table the parameters am settings are
    SEND.fieldNames                 abc,bcd,cde,def,efg,ghk
    SEND.fieldFixedLengths      7,7,7,7,7,7       (because each and every field has 7 characters)
    SEND.keepIncompleteFields       No
    SEND.fieldFixedLengthType      char
    SEND.fieldContentFormatting     trim
    SEND.fieldEndSeparator            'nl'
    This was the configuration. But this is not working I monitored the Communication Channel and file is not reading and not getting deleting.
    What actually went wrong in above configuration. Why it is not working.
    Thanks.

    There is no root node,  so in your FCC you need to mention your RecordsetName and you can ignoreRecordSetName in result structure. Check the following blog simulates your requirement.

  • Mixing static and dynamic content in a single outputText value causes NPEs

    Hi,
    I am having a problem and I'm wondering if it is a result of my error or if this is a bug.
    I am mixing dynamic and static content in the value attribute of tags (e.g., outputText). On initial page load, everything works fine. However, if the same view is reloaded (e.g., after a failed validation) I get an NPE from JSF:

    <h:outputText escape="false"
              value='<link href="#{myBean.styleSheet}" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css"  />' />If I replace this with a much more convoluted set of tags, it works:
    <h:outputText escape="false"
              value='<link href="' /><h:outputText escape="false" value="#{myBean.styleSheet}"
              /><h:outputText escape="false" value='" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />' />So is the problem that I am mixing dynamic and static content with a single value? If so, why does it work on the first view, and not after?
    If it matters, I'm using the reference implementation version 1.1 (as included with NetBeans 5.5RC2) on SuSE 10.0 w/ JDK 1.5_09.
    Thanks,
    Bill

    Yes, that's how I originally had it, but then changed it to the outputText approach since a single tag could do what I wanted, as long as I was allowed to mix static and dynamic content within a single value.
    I think this is a bug in JSF 1.1, since if what I am doing is illegal, it should throw an exception on the first page view, not work on first view and throw an exception on subsequent views. I'm guessing that this has something to do with the fact that on first page view it only runs the restore view and render response JSF phases, while on subsequent requests all of the phases will be run, and it's in one of those other phases that the exception is thrown.
    For now, multiple tags is the work-around, I guess.
    Thanks,
    Bill

    since in this case you dont seem to have a key value to figure out what your header is, it is better to go for a two level mapping. i.e first read all the data - each line as an xml tag. and in the first mapping group it as required and then use it for your original mapping.

  • Problem in file content conversion from XML to CSV

    Hi Experts,
    I am finding problem in file content conversion. I need to convert the following XML file into CSV file:
      <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
    - <ns0:MT_CROSS_REF xmlns:ns0="urn:dabur:idoc2file:pos">
          <Update_type>2</Update_type>
          <PLU>00000000</PLU>
          <Cross_ref_PLU>7777777</Cross_ref_PLU>
          <Capture_PLU />
          <Package_size />
          <Package_desc />
      </ns0:MT_CROSS_REF>
    The output file data has to be like:
    2,00000000,7777777,,,,
    The problem I am facing is while specifying the content conversion parameters in communication channel i dont know what recordset structure i should mention as all the records are directly under root. If I mention recordset structure as "ns0:MT_CROSS_REF" and parameters as
    ns0:MT_CROSS_REF.fieldSeparator   ,
    ns0:MT_CROSS_REF.endSeparator    'nl'
    i get error in communication channel monitoring and no file is posted.
    Please help me as to what correct parameter i should mention in my case.
    Thanks,
    Regards,
    Yash

    Hi Chirag,
    I cannot change the xml file as it comes after mapping idoc to a message type. How can I add ROOT in the xml? My message type is like MT_CROSS_REF and it has those 6 fields as in the XML (Update_type, PLU etc.). I do the mapping of these fields from a IDOC and get the XML.
    I hope you got my point.
    Thanks,
    Yash
