Dynamic Content in Select

Is there a reason why the lightning bolt that lets you add dynamic content to a <select> list box has disappeared? Is there some other way of doing this now?

How nice for you to have inside info.... Can you at least hint as to "when" this reason might come to light? While I totally agree with you that Dreamweaver needs to keep pace with the industry, I am a little confused by your comment because it sounds as if you are saying that the industry is changing in a direction away from working with dynamic data. In that case, I couldn't disagree with you more. If anything, static content is going extinct; replaced with data driven content management solutions and other dynamic sources. And it's in this regard where I'm baffled at Dreamweaver removing features that help the users who can't code from scratch build sites with these capabilities. I've been running a business for over 15 years because of the dynamic data tools and capabilitites of Dreamweaver and add-on extensions.

im new to APEX, and pl/sql [but not web dev or sql].
ive found the bit in APEX that lets you add data from your DB using the 'CREATE' > 'PL/SQL Dynamic Content'.
maybe there's a better option for people who dont know pl/sql? i dont know?
however, i think i can getting working with a little bit of help but im stumbling around in the dark a bit here.
ok so this is the pl/sql ive come up with to show three example values on page 23 of my aplplication:

The easiest (and best) way to "display rows" is using a report. Dynamic PL/SQL regions are more complex and are required much less frequently.

Print PLSQL Dynamic content region in PDF format in Oracle Apex

I have created a report region by selecting "PLSQL Dynamic Content".This region calls the procedure with some parameters.So i want this plsql dynamic content to be in PDF format.
For an easy understanding, I have created an application in Apex.Oracle.Com where i have created a Plsql Dynamic content which calls procedure do display in region.

Step 3: Open PRINT_PDF application and Run the application.

Once user cliks PDF (button inapplication) a new tab should open and that plsql region should in PDF format.

SO, you want to print the output of the procedure in pdf format? If so, you can try apex Report Query feature. You can find a number of examples for the same in this forum and in the internet:

Or, have a IR based on a collection; the collection based on a function returning query. And then, use the IR's generic download option to print reports.

PHP dynamic content for form list field on tabbed panel

I have been trying to use PHP dynamic content to populate a
form list field. Works fine on a regular page, but doesn't seem to
work (or works very erratically) if the form is on a tab of a Spry
tabbed panel. Erratically means (as I've observed) the values will
appear if the list field is the second on a tab but not the first.
Haven't tried three on a tab... Anyone know if this is supposed to
work?

The scheme youv'e proposed makes sense and I had thought of the same before posting the question. I already did a little POC on it but then realised this works if I can use complete list of values of 1st Field to decide the value of 2nd and so forth. But I rather need to know which one among those was clicked. Moreover, my right side list is usually not null when page loads for the first time (bcoz Field name is a path exp).
Also, the real problem here is that, when I click on different values on the right side of multi-select(already selected values) of 1st Field, allowedValues and Derivation of 2nd should change. That GUI event is not capturable from whatever I've been able to read (onClick is not applicable for MultiSelect, and onChange doesn't serve my purpose, coz I need to know what value was clicked on).
The solution I thought and implemented was to take the right side of multi-select, into an extra (read redundant), single-select Field. And then have the 2nd multi-select depend on it via Derivation and allowedValues.
Having two redundant single-selects, isn't the most elegant solution but I can't think of anything better. Any thoughts ???
If I'm not really overlooking something MultiSelect class should have an extra Property exposed....

Creating a dynamic content link in Eloqua HTML editor

I'm using dynamic content to populate a link on an HTML landing page. I drag and drop the dynamic content, and the following code shows up:

You can simply take one conatiner and create the textInput dynamically at runtime in ActionScript. Check the sample simplest code below..

Flash forms, dynamic content

I am relatively new to assembling Flash Forms.
I am trying to build a form that lists departments in a
dropdown on one tab and will then display a list of items and
checkboxes that apply to the department that is selected on another
tab.
I am using cfsavecontent to save a variable that is the
department id. I understand how all the data from the cfsavecontent
tag can be displayed in a text box, but is it possible to display a
list of checkboxes based on the cfsavecontent data instead of a
text field? Can this be done? Thank you for any insight.

If I'm not mistaken, you'd need to use a rich media vendor to
provide dynamic content.

Imbed Dynamic Content?

I am new to RoboHelp (using ver 7) and just went through the
excellent "Essentials of Adobe
Robohelp 7 HTML". I have been tasked with something I did not
find in the book...embedding
dynamic content. In other words, can the Help output use an
external data source to tailor its results?
For example, RoboHelp has a pre-loaded selection criteria of
customer names, and depending on whihc
one is selected, it retireves and embeds data from an
external source for that customer into the
Help web. Is this possible?

RoboHelp doesn't quite work that way. Normally you have all
the content static and present on either a server or inside a .CHM
file. Much like a static Web Site would work.
Assuming you are creating web based help, I suppose it would
be possible to achieve what you are looking for by creating
Framesets or Inline Frames. Then populating a frame with dynamic
content.
Perhaps if you can more fully flesh out exactly what choosing
a particular customer number would result in, we might offer some
alternatives for achieving it using RoboHelp.

PL/SQL Dynamic content

I'm trying to create a dynamic pl/sql area. The code is based of Denes' manual tabular form. But when I enter the code, APEX/SQL complains that it expects an INTO statement. The code looks correct to me..?
I have the need to control how many "entry records" are made available, thus the need to the dynamic code.

I'm trying to produce dynamic content depending on a simple variable. How can one test what is wrong with the code.
Firebug shows that I'm not receiving any reponse from my ondemand process. How can one thest these things.
Another issue I have come upon, is how to create a html region, use the static id, and then return the below reponse ?
I'm not sure my logic or code are proper.

Programm an static Design with dynamic Content

Hello... I have an problem. I want programm an static design and and static menue, but the content must be dynamic. I know how it work with frames, but how does it work with an site only with tables... like this:

Dynamic content in my flip book!

It's a while I'm working on the flip page and I've developed

I'm loading the content of each page from external .UTX
files. Everything is fine and it works great but I don't understand
why the speed of the movie has noticably decreased! and looks
slow!!!!
Any idea? is it because of the dynamic content in the pages?

Yes, that's how I originally had it, but then changed it to the outputText approach since a single tag could do what I wanted, as long as I was allowed to mix static and dynamic content within a single value.
I think this is a bug in JSF 1.1, since if what I am doing is illegal, it should throw an exception on the first page view, not work on first view and throw an exception on subsequent views. I'm guessing that this has something to do with the fact that on first page view it only runs the restore view and render response JSF phases, while on subsequent requests all of the phases will be run, and it's in one of those other phases that the exception is thrown.
For now, multiple tags is the work-around, I guess.

Adding pagination in report build from PL/SQL dynamic content using htp.p

Hi,
I have a requirement for which i used PL/SQL dynamic content to build my report and i displayed my report using a cursor and loop by HTP.P function.
Now problem is I have report with more than 500 rows and I want to add pagination concept for this report.
How can i do that?

To preserve heading on each page for a HTML table you can use the THEADER, TFOOTER and TBODY tags (see example). To force page breaks, try experimenting with these style attributes:

Adding PHP pages, not showing dynamic content?

Hi all,
I'm new and hoping I don't get ripped apart for a question that seems simple. I've looked a lot though and can't seem to find an exact scenario like this. I recently took over a PHP site for a friend that was built in Dreamweaver CS3.
There's a master page (main.php) that includes a header and footer and middle area of dynamic content. Thus, all of the pages appear like: http://www.SITENAME.com/main.php?mod=about (for the 'about' page) or www.SITENAME.com/main.php?mod=welcome (for the landing/home page), etc.
In main.php, there's a section of: // Include Multiple Static Pages that looks like this:
$mxiObj->IncludeStatic("about", "about.php");
for every static page.
All of this makes sense to me. Here's my problem:
When adding a new page now, I can't get it to show any of the dynamic content on the live site. I just get the static header and footer to show.
In the main.php file, there's this section:

I guess I'm asking if there's some type of file in an 'includes' folder that I'm missing where I need to make sure the FileName is also listed (not just in the static section on main.php)? What's the mising link that will get this dynamic content to show up?

The quickest way to add new pages is to
copy the template (index.php) to a new document (newdoc.php or similar)
remove the PHP stuff - stuff that is not required for the new content
if there are inludes for the menu, header, footer or similar, then you can link those back into the document using standard includes
add the new content to the newly created document
This will give you a stand-alone document. At a later stage you can convert these documents into a DW-template system.

Yes that means LiveCycle Designer .....the XDP is an XML file that describes the template that you want. It is turned into a PDF by the Designer as well as the LC Server I mentioned. The Designer creates interactive content (not what you asked for), the server can do the same as well as flat PDFs. I mentioned the batch mode because that is how people generally use it or they use it for real time creation of the reports but it tends to be high volume (it is a server product so it will bepriced that way). You can create an XDP that has text and "floating fields" on it. Floating Fields are special in that you can merge data with the template and once the data is put into the field it is turned into text (non-interactive). This woudl be useful for testing (requires a hands on approach) but if there is any kind of volume that you are looking for this will not be useful. The server side can be automated so that no human intervention is required.
