Dynamic DFF List of Value - Issue

Hi
I'm stuck up in a problem and I'm sure you will have a solution for this.
Please read the following and suggest me some solution.
Requirement : Right now I'm not finding any functionality for Inter Org requisition related to InterOrg Transfer(Intransit Shipment)
So I Have created a Custom InterOrg Requisition Form.
Custom table
IOR_HDR( IOR_NO, From_org, To_org)
IOR_DTL ( IOR_NO, Item, Quantity)
Now I want to give Custom Form Reference Number (IOR_NO) while InterOrg Transfer(Intransit Shipment) in line level DFF valueset. (This is the only solution I found, Please suggest if any other better solution is there)
With that I have to provide only those IOR_NO in List of Values which satisfy the condition
IOR_HDR.From_org = From Org entered on that screen ($PROFILE$.MFG_ORGANIZATION_ID)
IOR_HDR.To_org = entered on screen ???
IOR_DTL.Item = entered on screen ???
IOR_DTL.Quantity >= Entered Quantity ???
With that on second line if same item is entered then also Quantity should be sum of 2 lines and compare it with table quantity.
Should I use custom.pll or Form Personalization of direct use value set or any thing else ??? and How??????
Standard InterOrg Transfer Screen
Thanks in advance.
Priyanka Patel.

wow thats great sunil : )
Can I also reference the value of P7_ITEM_NAME in anotheR item name like P7_COMMISSION?
For example: I have two (2) item names: P7_SALARY and P7_COMMISSION
P7_COMMISSION is computed as :P7_SALARY * 0.10
So I do not have to enter value in the item name P7_COMMISSION as it is derived from P7_SALARY.
Is this possible? if not why does LOV able to access it ; )
Thanks a lot

  • Dynamic Select List Allowed Values

    Howdy Folks,
    I am trying to allow end users to select their username. The usernames are generated from a rule library, and displayed in a select form element. I am doing this by having the allowedValues call the rule that generates the possible names directly. The rule returns a list of valid names. The problem I am currently having, is that if the page reloads or refreshes, then the allowedValues calls the rule again. Some of the username choices involve random numbers, so it is possible (and very likely), that separate calls to the rule will generate different potential values. So what is now happening, is that when a user selects the value, the page reloads, and the end user sees an error that looks like this:
    ( ) - Warning: Selected value for field 'Select a Valid User Name' does not match any of the allowed values.
    The reason I am reloading the page, is that I am also trying to show the user what their email address will look like with the new value. So I have a different form element that is loading is value dynamically, and referencing the select form element. This mostly works, but the warning above is unacceptable.
    Is there a way I can load the dynamically created list only once, the first time the form is viewed, and not load it again every time the page refreshes?
    Another thing I tried to do (but didn't have luck with, so I sorta gave up on it) was to use the onChange of the select to change the value of email display field. This way the page never reloads and I don't have to deal with that issue. I'm thinking the onChange might actually work, but I would need to execute javascript or something, and not just use an express <set/> command to set the value of the field name that displays the email text.
    Does anyone have advice on how to make the values only load once? Or how to change the value on the onChange event?
    Thanks!
    Jim

    Mike,
    Thanks for the feedback. I actually did try that eventually. I created a variable in the form, and initialized that variable to the list of possible values. Then I referenced the variable in the 'allowedValues' of the select form item. At that point in time I still had the select box set as an action, so it would reload the page, hoping to reload the value in the email display field. This still did not work. Each time the action fired off, the variable was re-initializing itself. I eventually tried to put in a check, so it would not re-initialize itself if it had already been initialized. That caused a syslog error.
    I ended up solving the problem using javascript. I changed the field that reported the potential email address to an html element. Then for the html attribute I made a div with an ID. I then set a line of javascript into the onChange attribute of the select form element. This worked when ever the select form value changed. I then added the same line of javascript to the onLoad attribute of the jsp pages body element. This worked for loading the page.
    This solved the problem of the page reloading and the select getting new values. That still happens if you actually reload the page, but all the form elements work without the reload now.
    Thanks!
    Jim

  • What is the maximum number of records in a dynamic parameter list of values?

    In Crystal Reports Developer, I am attempting to add a dynamic parameter from a view.  The view has 6773 total records.  The field used for the parameter has 1819 distinct values, none of which are null.
    I have the parameter set to allow multiple values, and I have added
    field is equal to parameter
    in the select expert.
    However, when I refresh the report and tell it to prompt for new parameters, the list of values does not contain all the values, so about half of the records are dropped.
    Is there a way I can guarantee that all 1819 (or an unlimited number) records show up in the List of Values?

  • Dynamic entry list - Use Value as input to WS

    Hi,
    I have a Dynamic Entry list, which displays the text, I would however like to store its value, so that I could use it as input for the Web service.
    Any ideas, how that can be done?
    Many thanks,
    Dharmi

    Dharmi Tanna,
    In your model,
    Drag a Data Store connector from the Compose task panel to the Design board.
    Drag from the out port of the UI element whose data is to be stored in the Data Store to the port of the Data Store element.
    Right-click the Data Store element and from the context menu, choose Define Data.
    Define a virtual field for the Data Store by clicking the Add Field button and choosing the type of data that you want to store. Add more fields as required.
    The field is added with a default name.
    To define a default value for each field, enter it in the Default Value column.
    Define the event used to transfer data to the Data Store
    Right-click the connecting line to the Data Store, and from the context menu choose Rename.
    Name the event with the same name as the action that adds items to the Data
    Map values from the UI element fields to the Data Store fields:
    Right-click the connecting line between the elements, and from the context menu choose Map Data.
    In the Assigned Value column, choose a UI element field, enter a field name, or define a dynamic expression to specify from where to take the value that is placed in the Data Store.

  • Display Dynamic Member List Variable value in the Header

    Hi
    In my HFR report im using a dynamic member list as DynList1(@POV) in the Entity Dimension; for HFM Application.
    For the Entity Parameter im using User Prompt for Entity.
    For the User Prompt im using a choice list of Four entity members. E1, E2,E3, E4.
    I have 4 member lists ML_E1,ML_E2, ML_E3, ML_E4 such that ML_E1 contains few of the descendants of E1.
    So wen i run the report i select E1 in the user prompt and the ML_E1 is used in the Report. This is working fine.
    Now, i want to display the MemberName and Description of E1 in the Header.
    Im not sure if it can be done. But wanted some confirmation from Hyperion Community on whther this can be done.If yes, please let me know how.
    Thanks
    Vibhuti

    I tried to recreate the problem like listed above, but after I add the Outputcollection of the Invoke as a parameter, there is no schema info (not even task:task) when editing the Assignment and Routing Policy section. At any rate, there weren't errors to speak of - the instance completed with "The state of this instance is Completed".
    In the meantime, I've used a while loop to loop through a sequence of approvers that are result of a query. I'll have to keep track of approvers and include them in each new payload I think.

    For example:

    &STATUS is a value from a given field as entered in a current form page.
    Is this possible? or are there other ways to to this?

  • Select list null value issue - for filtering the tabular form report

    hello,
    I have a tabular form created on emp table and in the table their are entries for the employees who don't have a location, like it is null for some of the employees.
    Now I have created a select list item - for filtering the results based on location.
    my select query for select list item is
    select distinct location_name d,location_id r from emp order by 1
    -- so my select list contains all the distinct location_name including the null on my tabular form.
    so based on the selelcted value(in the select list), I am able to filter the results in my tabular form.
    but the thing is that when i try to select an null value from my select list - i am not able to filter my report - like its displaying all the records, its not filtering.
    can anyone help me out with this.
    thanks.

    Hi
    Try below select for LOV
    select distinct nvl(location_name,'No Location') d,nvl(location_name,'No Location') r from emp order by 1 And then change tabular from select where clause also use nvl(location_name,'No Location') like
    SELECT *
    FROM emp
    WHERE nvl(location_name,'No Location') = :Px_YOUR_ITEMBr, Jari

  • List of values not properly working in the selection screen.

    Dear Mates,
    In BEx query all the selection parameters are working and showing all the list of values. Created the same report in crystal from BEx query, for one particular selection it is not showing the list of values or drop down. Just showing "DISCRETE VALUES"
    Please throw some light on this.
    Good day,
    Regards
    Arun S

    Hi Arun,
    I think you have more than one dynamic parameter created in your report.  There is a limitation on dynamic parameter list of values.  You will have to edit the registery to get all values in dynamic parameters list.
    Find below is a knowledgebase article ;
    Symptom
    For performance reasons, in Crystal Reports XI Release 1 and Release 2 the maximum number of values that are returned for a list of values is set to 1000. If you have a cascading List of Values (for example Country > Region > City), the lowest level (in this case City) will only display a maximum of 1000 values. This means that the higher-level prompts may display far fewer values than you expect. The list of values provides the data for the dynamic parameter list.
    How can you modify the maximum number of values available in a dynamic parameter list?
    Resolution
    To increase the maximum number of values available in a dynamic parameter list, you must add a registry key.
    CAUTION
    The following resolution involves editing the registry. Using the Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall the Microsoft Windows operating system. Use the Registry Editor at your own risk. For information on how to edit the registry key, view the 'Changing Keys and Values' online Help topic in the Registry Editor (Regedit.exe).
    It is strongly recommended that you make a backup copy of the registry files (System.dat and User.dat on Win9x computers) before you edit the registry.
    Crystal Reports XI Release 1
    Create a registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Business Objects\Suite 11.0\Crystal Reports\DatabaseOptions\LOV.
    NOTE
    Alternatively, you can create the registry key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Business Objects\Suite 11.0\Crystal Reports\DatabaseOptions\LOV and that key will override the settings of the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Business Objects\Suite 11.0\Crystal Reports\DatabaseOptions\LOV key.
    Add a string value "MaxRowsetRecords" and set the value to the maximum number of values that you desire for your report. For example, a value of 2000 will return up to 2000 values in the lowest level of a cascading parameter. NOTE: The value 0 (Unlimited) will not work with BusinessObjects Enterprise XI or Crystal Reports Server XI, you must specify another value.
    NOTE
    The higher the number of values is, the longer it will take the Enter Values dialog box to populate with values.
    After making changes to the registry, restart the affected service or application as required.
    Crystal Reports XI Release 2
    Create a registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Business Objects\Suite 11.5\Crystal Reports\DatabaseOptions\LOV.
    NOTE
    Alternatively, you can create the registry key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Business Objects\Suite 11.5\Crystal Reports\DatabaseOptions\LOV and that key will override the settings of the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Business Objects\Suite 11.5\Crystal Reports\DatabaseOptions\LOV key.
    Add a string value "MaxRowsetRecords" and set the value to the maximum number of values that you desire for your report. For example, a value of 2000 will return up to 2000 values in the lowest level of a cascading parameter.
    NOTE
    The value 0 (Unlimited) will not work with BusinessObjects Enterprise XI or Crystal Reports Server XI, you must specify another value.
    After making changes to the registry, restart the affected service or application as required.
    Thanks,
    Sastry

  • Question on list of value for both of deski and webi

    Hi,
       I have two questions on list of values issue: (we are using boxir3.1)
    1) on the deski, when I click on the Values on the 'Enter or Select Values' prmopt, the list of value it shows is not what it should be, it is pointed to other object, for expense, the value should show department code but the list of values shows the company name. I did refresh, and also refreshed on the universe side: restored default, automatic refresh before use. then export the universe, still doing the same. the only way to correct it I found so far is to change the prompt text which I don't prefer (we used userresponse in the report, it will be too much to change.
    2) for the webi report, when I click on the 'Refresh Values' on the prompts page, it shows (No value). I also checked on the universe side, did restored default, automatic refresh before use. then export the universe, still doing the same.
    Please help,
    Thanks,
    jt

    Try a new universe on the same connection, build the same objects. Just something simple to test the LOV results. If it doesn't work, it could be a data issue, or a permissions issue as suggested.
    You should check the SQL created for the LOV in the universe and verify that it's going to the right place.
    You can check to see if there is another LOV using the same name and if so, change it. The LOV name is found on the properties tab. You can find the LOV in the universe folder as a sub-folder from your environment. In my case, I have a folder named @Dev and a folder for universes inside that, then a folder beyond that with the universe name that contains the LOV files. Find the one in question and delete it, ensuring that it gets recreated.
    Try making sure that any unv and lov files on your server are purged. You may also need to test cache testings. The easy way to test if it's a cache issue is to reboot your system, which should clear the cache.

  • Flex Table Add Row Issue with Dynamic Entry Lists in Visual Composer

    All,
    Your help would be kindly appreciated in resolving an 'Add Row'-issue within a Flex Table that uses Dynamic Entry Lists in Visual Composer. The issue here is as follows :
    When I use a [Local Dynamic Entry List |http://www.postyourimage.com/view_image.php?img_id=O5hrG2aMxWZ84Mu1211193041]to populate a row field, the initial row and all next rows are emptied upon 'insert row', they loose their selected values and also the entry list values ('pull-down menus') are lost. Please also see [screenshot|http://www.postyourimage.com/view_image.php?img_id=FPLr2cABcgiHRou1211192889].
    The initial row does [show the entry list values |http://www.postyourimage.com/view_image.php?img_id=2HybmEHAuQYs9cg1211192766]from the Local Dynamic Entry List based on the dynamically assigned input value; upon 'insert row' the entry lists are lost. Please also see [screenshot|http://www.postyourimage.com/view_image.php?img_id=FPLr2cABcgiHRou1211192889].
    When using a [Global Dynamic Entry List |http://www.postyourimage.com/view_image.php?img_id=m5p2KYuBb442dTq1211193501]to populate the row fields the Flex-table behaves normally as expected. Unfortunately with a Global Entry List it is not possible to dynamically assign a input value. Please also see [screenshot|http://www.postyourimage.com/view_image.php?img_id=U96V0zENCCyO3gA1211193157].
    Please also see the [issue summary image|http://www.postyourimage.com/view_image.php?img_id=06xti08tIEfely1211195178] I made to visualize the issue.  What I basically would like to know is whether this is a 'known issue' or not, or that it is an issue that can be fixed or whether there is an alternative workaround available ... I'm using Visual Composer 7.0 and the Portal is at SP 13.
    Many thanks,
    Freek

    Hi,
    you should be able to assign a dynamic value with global entry lists as well. If you say @myParam as dynamic value. VC will indicate in red letters, that the field @myParam is unknown. However, it will work, as long as @myParam is known in the form or table where you use the entry list.
    I have never heard of the problem that entry lists are emptied after "insert"-event.

  • Dynamic list of values in CR 2008 - request of login to database

    I am using CR2008 with VB2005. I created simple application which generate report on different SQL Server 2005 databases.
    Report uses OLE.DB connection to SQL Server, I pass logon information in VB using "SA" username and password. The same simple report works great on different databases with one exception: if parameter (dynamic list of values) is used in report it runs correctly only on database it was created (connection to this database is saved in report and can be seen in Database->Set Datasource Location). Changing connection to other databases in VB during runtime causes CR to ask for username and password (in standard parameter window). It looks, like Crystal have one connection for report and the other for dynamic list of values parameter. I pass connection information to report using ConnectionInfo(). I loop through alll tables in report and apply connection:
    For Each crTable In crTables
                    crTableLogOnInfo = crTable.LogOnInfo
                    crTableLogOnInfo.ConnectionInfo = crConnectionInfo
                    crTable.ApplyLogOnInfo(crTableLogOnInfo)
    Next
    I tried to pass connection information also to parameter but I couldn't find such possibility.

    This is a known issue (Tracking number is ADAPT01333806.) and a note has been written,  unfortunately it is not yet published. Below is the note content, including a work-around / resolution. You may also want to try FP 2.3, see that helps. (I'll break this post into two as I'll loose the formatting if I don't.
    Reproducing the Issue
    Use Crystal Reports 2008 SP2 to create a report with dynamic parameter(s)
    Use the following code from the Crystal Reports SDK for VS .NET
    Dim crDatabase As Database
    Dim crTables As TablesDim crTable As Table
    Dim crTableLogOnInfo As TableLogOnInfo
    Dim crConnectionInfo As ConnectionInfo
    crReportDocument.Load("<path>")
    crReportDocument.Refresh()
    crConnectionInfo = New ConnectionInfo()
    With crConnectionInfo
         .ServerName = "<New Server Name>"
          .Password = "<password>"
    End With
    crDatabase = crReportDocument,Database
    crTables = crDatabase.Tables
    For Each crTable In crTables
         crTableLogOnInfo = crTable.LogOnInfo
         crTableLogOnInfo.ConnectionInfo = crConnectionInfo
         crTable.ApplyLogOnInfo(crTableLogOnInfo)
    Next
    CrystalReportViewer1.ReportSource = crReportDocument
    The above code works with Crystal Reports 2008 SP 1

  • Report Viewer Dynamic Parameter List not showing a complete list of values

    Hi, I have installed the crystal report runtime 13.0.1.220 for framework 4.0 in a 64-bit windows 7 professional server.
    I have an aplication that opens crystal reports using the crystal report viewer control for visual studio 2010, also version 13.0.1.220.
    ISSUE: The report opens fine, but it does not shows all the available values in the dynamic parameter list.
    I have tried setting the MaxRowsetRecords registry key to diferent values but it does not work.
    I do not have any crystal report stand alone version installed in my server.
    Please help me?

    Hi Ludek,
    yes i followed the instructions of the KBase you are mentioning, but it isn't working for me.
    I modified the following keys:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SAP BusinessObjects\Crystal Reports for .NET Framework4.0\Crystal Reports\DatabaseOptions\LOV
    and
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\SAP BusinessObjects\Crystal Reports for .NET Framework4.0\Crystal Reports\DatabaseOptions\LOV
    1) I had to create the LOV key under the DatabaseOptions in both keys.
    2) Inside the LOV keys I created the new string value MaxRowsetRecords and set the value to different values. (Ex: 5000, 10000 and 1000000)
    3) I restarted my server. Still not working.
    4) Then after that i modified the following registry keys: (leaving the first 2 keys modified)
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SAP BusinessObjects\Crystal Reports for .NET Framework4.0\Crystal Reports\DatabaseOptions\LOV
    and
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SAP BusinessObjects\Crystal Reports for .NET Framework4.0\Crystal Reports Designer Component\DatabaseOptions\LOV
    5) Also had to create the LOV key under the DatabaseOptions in both keys.
    6) Inside the LOV keys I created the new string value MaxRowsetRecords and set the value to different values. (Ex: 5000, 10000 and 1000000)
    7) Restarted my server. still not working
    8)  Then after that i modified the following registry key: (leaving the first 4 keys modified)
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SAP BusinessObjects\Crystal Reports for .NET Framework4.0\Crystal Reports Designer Component\ReportView
    Inside this key I created the DWORD PromptingLOVBatchSize and gave it a decimal value of 1000000
    9) Restarted the server. Still not working. For crying out LOUD!!

  • Dynamic select list with display,return val & join condition issue.

    hello,
    I am having a dynamic select list with display, return value
    say for example my select statement is
    select distinct dname d, deptno r
    from dept dt
    right join emp e on (e.deptno=dt.deptno)
    where (condition)
    when i tried this query for my select list, it is not working. It saying that
    " LOV query is invalid, a display and a return value are needed, the column names need to be different. If your query contains an in-line query, the first FROM clause in the SQL statement must not belong to the in-line query. "
    I am not able to understand the problem. Can anyone help me out with this issue?
    thanks.

    Shouldn't your join have dept as the driving table?
    select distinct dname d, deptno r
    from dept dt
    right join emp e on (dt.deptno = e.deptno)
    where (condition)
    Or using older Oracle standard join
    select distinct dname d, deptno r
    from dept dt, emp e
    where (dt.deptno (+) = e.deptno) AND (OTHER WHERE condition)
    OR
    (Since a right join is just getting the values from the driving table that are NOT in the associated table)
    select distinct dname d, deptno r
    from dept dt
    WHERE dt deptno NOT IN (SELECT deptno FROM emp) AND (OTHER where condition)

  • List of Values (dynamic parameter) times out once and then works.

    Hello.  First time posting here.  I'm having a strange (yet very predictable) issue with Crystals Reports List of Values.  The List of Values is used on a dynamic cascading prompt and is published to the BO XI R2 repository.  The prompt/list works fine when using Crystal Reports thick client, but when using the Crystal Reports viewer from InfoView the following happens everytime:
    1.  Any Report that uses the Parameter/LOV is launched.
    2.  After about 1-2 minutes, the viewer returns a "Timeout" error message.
    3.  The report is launched a 2nd time.
    4.  The parameters/LOVs display (takes about 8 seconds) and the report runs fine.
    Then anytime a report is run within a certain period of time it works ok.  But if no one runs a report for an extended period of time (i'm not sure how long, but it's on the order of maybe 30 mins.. to an hour), then it starts all over again.  In addition, if I restart the services/server this same thing will immediately occur.  (time out once, but work after that for a period of time).
    I initially did not schedule the LOV to get generated on the server and left it so that it's done in real-time when the report ran.  But then when I ran into this error, I tried scheduling it every 10 minutes or so, but the error continues to happen.
    I also restarted the server/etc to no avail.
    I saw another post on here that was kind of similar and that suggested that starting the LOV services as a domain user (that had admin rights on the BO server) helped him.  I tried this as well and restarted everything but that didn't fix my issue.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Just wanted to update this.
    Because I use Business Objects OEM, I didn't have direct support with SAP/Business Objects.  However, because of this issue (and other issues) we purchased Business Objects Edge 3.0.
    After getting BOE 3 installed/configured, I migrated those reports and underlying Business Views over.
    And guess what?   The problem still occurred on the new platform.
    I then created a support incident and the person that initially tried to help me couldn't figure out what was going on.
    However, during that time, I did try re-creating the report using a newer version of Crystal (Crystal 2008) and the problem went away.  (note, I didn't recreate the business views.. just the reports).
    So bottom line:
    I created all reports from scratch instead of using the reports that I migrated from BO XI R2/CR XI and no longer had the problem.
    The techs never figured out the exact cause of the issue.
    So far, my experience with their support has been the same on all incidents.  They don't seem to be trained (at least at the 1st level) for actually using the debug/logs/etc to help quickly pinpoint/analyze issues.  They do basically like I do (the end user) and smartly poke around and do trail/error.  I have yet to get a support tech that knew the exact nature of my issue and could solve it without this kind of trial/error approach.
