Dynamic Height of a lines in Adobe forms

Hi All,
Below is my form layout -
The middle boxes are always blank and just need to show as columns. Now, there is a chance of more data on both Black circle data and red circle data.
If any of these increased, then I want to show the blank cells as well with vertical lines (separating columns). I tried subforms etc., but no luck, any help is highly appreciated.
Required format:
In below : right side second red box has multiple values as i told, so I need to have lines like green color dynamic increased.

First of all, this is a public forum, no a contractual hotline or technical support that you pay for. Please avoid the "immediate" or "urgent" word from there.
Secondly, there is no available instruction to handle the graphical objects atached to the canvas like lines or frames.

I have a GP scenario where in user inputs multiple rows of data in a table which is on an Interactive Adobe Form.
I want to read those values entered dynamically and passed between callable objects.

I checked the mentioned form and, as this table is setted as TABLEROW and some of its cells are static, is not possible to change the column size in the layout or even though changing it directly in the XML file, cell by cell. I was trying it.
For example, choose the Cell6 of TABLEROW[0] and click on tab 'XML Source'. You will see this statement:
<draw colSpan="3" h="16.3166mm" name="Cell7" w="22.225mm">
You can try to change the value 'colSpan' according to your requirement.
This table size is not modifiable because it was developed to it.
I believe that Diego's suggestion can help in this case, if you are having problems to print the entire table on the page.

Dynamic Image (.gif) from URL into adobe Form by SFP

Hi all
I post the comment of Shamila because I have the same problem
I need to place an image in the Adobe form based on the url.
I have written the following formcalc script in the image field form ready action
ImageField1.value.image.href = "http://www.adobe.com/imageshome/pdfgift_home.gif"
But when i view the form , the image field is empty, and when i click on the blank space of the image field, a popup appears to select the image............
How can i show the image from url in the form..........

Hi Ricky,
You need multiple rows for a dynamic structure field of a data source.
Just do data binding to the table.
In row-->binding tab select check box "Repeat Row for each Data Item".
Leave the min value as 1 you can specify the max value if do want to restrict.
If you need to have a row added dynamically via code, you can do so by using table.row.instancemanger.addinstance

Fonts and indent first line in adobe forms

Hi,
I have a smartstyle with paragraph format DF for which left margin is 1.00cm and indent first line is -1.00cm. I am using this style in textmodule where i can see the text correctly as desired. but when i am using this text module in adobe form, indent first line is not recognized i.e the first line is also starting from 1.00cm which is supposed to be 0cm.
can anyone tell me how i can resolve this and also i need Arial font style in smartstyles which is not currently available when i am checking smartstyles, how can i add this font style in smartstyles?

Not sure if this will help you... but just some pointers....
How about triggering the javascript on selection of a particular record in the table...? i.e. call the particular javascript function only when some row in the table is selected and not otherwise.
About row selection, you can try using some type of UI control like radio button and through iteration of the table, you can find out which row's radio button has been selected..

Need to format comma separated values in address line in Adobe Forms

I have one text in which fields are separated by comma. I want to display the text in a text field. But whenever there is a comma the text following it needs to be printed in the same text field on new line.
Is there any way to achieve this.
e.g. if the address line 01 = ABC, 01/123 XYZ, 890776
then the output should be printed as follows
ABC
01/123 XYZ
890776

You need to put the code in the java script where you ll read the text in the texfield and then read it in diff var on the basis of the comma and then print the various var as an output.

Dynamic dropdown list in adobe forms.

Hi All,
I need to have a dynamic drop down list in the adobe forms.The values for the drop down list are selected from a standard table at runtime.This is the online scenario.
I have been using Enumerated drop down list.How do i pass the value or bind the values to this element.
I have enable Dynamic binding in the Properties of designer. but i am not able to enter the values into the specify item values.(OBJECT-BINDING-SPECIFY ITEM VALUE).Actually in my case it is coming disable.
I have also set the preview format to "ACROBAT 8 (Dynamic) XML FORMAT" which is in the form properties.
please let me know if i am missing any step?

1) I am sure you didn´t search because I have answered this question many times around here. Next time seacrh first, ask later, please. That is how we do it here.
2) you must, in your options menu in LCD, allow yourself to use dynamic binding. Check the menus for the checkbox, that should help you get what you need.

Migration 7.31. to 7.40 Adobe forms.

Dear experts.
After migration from nw 7.31 to 7.40 some adobe forms with java-script code ( used to fill a table and calculate values in columns ) add lines at end of the table with ZERO value in calculated columns.
Is it a known migration problem? Before de migration this form is created fine but it is possible that code is a bit robust or ... other documented issue.
Do you have any idea?

I am currently working with David in this problem. Just wanted to add some more data.
We launch the Adobe Form in our WebDynpro, we have an InteractiveForm component and in the templateSource field we are using our Adobe Form. This Adobe Form is producing empty lines in some tables with zero as value, as stated by David.
This morning we tried to launch the function module generated automatically for our Adobe Form (/1BCDWB/SMXXXXXXX) I noticed that in the function module we can inform the "1BCDWB/DOCPARAMS" structure, this structure appears in every interface but it doesn't appear on the Adobe Form or in the WebDynpro related context (generated automatically for the Adobe Form).
If we launch the Adobe Form this way AND we only inform the "DYNAMIC" field of the structure the Adobe Form works just fine, if instead we inform "DYNAMIC, UPDATE_INTERACTION_CODE and FILLABLE" fields we get the same errors as when we launch the Adobe Form in our WebDynpro.
Hence:
- By default this structure seems to inform all three fields for the Adobe Form, triggering the error.
- If somehow we can set the values of this structure in our WebDynpro we will probably solve our problem.
We have checked many posts of people which seem to launch the Adobe Form in their WebDynpro directly by calling its related function module (/1BCDWB/SMXXXXXXX), but we are not making this, we just map the data to the WebDynpro's context and the Adobe Form is called automatically.
Is there any way to set the values of structure "1BCDWB/DOCPARAMS" from the WebDynpro? Or maybe set its values by default to only the Dynamic field informed.
We are looking to solve this, if we find the solution we will post it here.

Adobe Form Layout

Dear All
I am using an Adobe Form to print Purchase Requisition (PR). Form layout include three parts , PR Header, Body and Footer. Each part is embedded on three separate content areas. Body Part include a table which is expandable but the issue is that when it expands, it gets overlap on footer of PR. I want to expand body part on next page and keeping header footer on every page.
How can this be achieved.

Hi Adnan,
Whenever you use a dynamic structure like Table in ur Adobe form, u need to use the Flow content for the Subform and not Position content.
And any other Subform following the flow content shall be a flow content. only then it changes the position based on the flow.
In your case, the footer is made as Position content i guess, that is why the table is overlapping on the footer. change the subform of the footer to Flow content, it will work,

can i use multiple controls in a single line in adobe form central. like if i want to use a grid along with that a text box in a single line then is it possible to do so. if yes then plz telme how?

How to display line items corresponding to Header adobe form

As I am new to Adobe Form, So struggling with below problem related with Adobe Form.
For example, I have data in an internal table :
Stage      item
100         A
100         B
100         C
200         D
200         E
Here you have for field 'Stage' value '100' , I have 3 line items, for value '200' , it is 2 line items and so on.
My requirement is , I have to show Stage field at top and corresponding line items should be displayed in table.
Stage: 100
item
A
B
C
Stage: 200
D
E
I have used Nested table concept to achieve it but didn't get expected output.
Please help me out.

     If all of your line items are getting displayed in different pages, to my knowledge, there may be two possibilities.
1) May be the size of the main window can accomodate only one line item. If one item data fills up the window, then there wont' be any space for the next line item data to be accomodated in the same window in the same page, so, the system triggers the next page. Like-wise for each item data. If this is the case, increase the height of the main window to display items in same page.
2) Check the driver program. Find the Write_form block, which is written inside an item loop. May be there is a Form-control Function module( Control_form with parameter 'NEW-PAGE' ) being called after the write_fom block, within the loop. If this is the case, remove the control_form FM section to make the data display in same page.

Multiple images into a subform in a dynamic non-interactive adobe form

I want to convert a set of images into a PDF (one page for each image) with Webdynpro. I'm trying with a non-interactive adobe form.
I followed the tutorial "Dynamic Non-Interactive PDF Form".
I've got a multiple Context node: 'Images' with a string attribute 'url' for each image.
In the form, I've created subform1, and subform2 within. I put an image field into subform2, setting its url to: $record.Images[*].url
and its script to: this.value.image.href = xfa.resolveNode(this.value.image.href).value;
It doesn't work.
If I add a field into subform2 binding it to url attribute, I can see some lines with the correct path for each image, but the image isn't displayed.
It works with a single dynamic image in the page. What am I doing wrong?

No. It's form scripting. In any case I'm working with Webdynpro Java.
I tried this code in table 'initialize' event.
for int=0 upto $record.nImages do
Table1.Row1[int].ImageField.value.image.href = $record.Images[int].url;
Table1.Row1[int].Cell4.value.#image.href = $record.Images[int].url;
endfor
Cell4 is a static image.
In 04SP9, it show always the same image in the image field (first column), and alternating image in cell4 (second column).
In 04sSP6, it shows always the same image in all the rows in both columns.
Any idea? I didn't find any OSS related.

Reducing the Text height in Adobe Forms

I have a text field which I have included for the long text of me22n transaction in the context node of Adobe forms. In the form I want to adjust the maximum height of the text field using java script or any other way, as in I do not want to print the text if it exists for more than 3 lines?

You need to implement a "flowed" design. the concept of flowed means that your field/subform/form expands as your data grows.
To do this, inserrt a subform and mark it as flowed (Top to Bottom), then drop in a text box and bind it to your input field.
In your text box's properties, make sure you allow Multiple Lines, and in your Layout pallette make sure Expand to Fit checkboxes are checked.
your field will grow or shrink depending on your input data.
EDIT: if you want to hide your field, you need to use formcalc or javascript. you need to check some value (whatever that is, is up to you) then hide your field.

Adobe forms: How to reduce the spacing dynamically between two variables

Hi All,
I have a requirement where at the header I am printing the address and below that other contact detials of vendor. I have used standard address element of adobe forms and printing it on the form using a variable.
When my addres contains 3 lines only in that case other contact details which are below address varible should dynamically move up.

How can reduce the above spacing bet two variable. Please help me in getting the solution for this issue.

You can concatenate the 2 variable and display it on that field.
data.Page1.<field>.rawValue = Concat(data.Page1.<field1>.rawValue , "\u000a" , data.Page1.<field2>.rawValue)
