Dynamic Hierarchy - SAP BPC 7.5 MS

Hello everyone. I am running SAP BPC 7.5 on the Microsoft Platform.
The issue I am running into is that I have children entities that have two parent entities. The Entity Dimension has our traditional organization chart. However, our reports require an alternate hierarchy.
Example:
Company A is a child of Company ABC in the org chart
however for reporting purposes
Company A is a child of Company XYZ
I need to pull in company XYZ in the report so that Company A is reported as being a part of it.
I need to be able to set up something using a dimension property that will allow me to pull in this hierarchy into our reports, WITHOUT using expansions.
The reason I cannot use expansions is some of the report will use the traditional org chart and the other portion of the report will use the alternate hierarchy.
I there some way to do this without using expansions?
I have setup a dimension property called "GROUP" that identifies the alternate hierarchy. However, the only way I know to pull it in the report is through the use of expansions in the "MembersSet" filter.
I have also tried to use the "Dynamic Hierarchy Editor" only to discover that you have to define hierarchies for specific time periods, and still use expansions.
Any suggestions? I feel like I am missing something.

Hi Will,
From what you describe I think an alternate (second/ H2) hierarchy is needed.
You can try adding a second hierarchy to your Entity dimension member sheet (PARENTH2) to see if that meets your requirement.
You can only create reports that have a hard-coded row or column key range or a dynamic row/column key range defined in the memberset field.

Printing a Dynamic Hierarchy in BPC 5.1

Hi,
I am trying to print the graphic representation of a dynamic hierarchy in BPC 5.1. There is no apparent way to print the hierarchy from the DHE and when I check the documentation, they suggest the use of a EVDRE report. However, based on my testing, I can't seem to see any function in EVDRE that would be able to pull the graphical representation of the org structure that I have keyed into DHE out. Am i missing something here? Appreciate any help and feedback, thanks.

We have the same problem. We need to have a report with the perimeter (DHE) of the companies as intuitive and graphical as possible. Have you solve your problem?

SSIS packages - Dynamic MODIFYSCRIPT :: SAP BPC 7.0 MS

Hi,
I want to know if it is possible to create a Dynamic MODIFYSCRIPT, so if the user selects a RADIOBUTTON option, the next SSIS screen will show or a SELECTINPUT with a specific selected member or a TEXT with a value.
The idea is that a parameter can change another in debug time.

Report with SAP BPC MS Hierarchy

Hello,
We are using BO Web Intelligence in order to create reports with SAP BPC 10 Microsoft version data.
We have a requirement were we need to create this reports with hierarchies created at BPC level. However when we use this hierarchies, technical names are always showed attached to descritions (please see attached file).
What we want is to change the following:
- at this moment we have "VN_FACT - Facturação", that represents ID concatenated with " - " and Description;
- we want that only shows Description but with plus sign of hierarchy.
How can we achieve this?

Dynamic Hierarchy Reporting function

Hi All,
i was looking through the help and found:
You can choose also whether to view dynamic hierarchies or standard Groups and Entity dimensions in the current view by making the appropriate selecting in the Current View selector. Thereafter, when the application type is consolidation, the dynamic hierarchy replaces Groups and Entity in the Current View. In addition, when you select the Group dimension in the Current View, the dynamic hierarchy stored with ownership application displays instead of the normal dimension hierarchy.

My question is:
The help indicates there is a 'setting' to make in the current view selector, thereafter when the app type is consolidation, the dynamic hierarchy replaces group/entity - where is setting and how do i set it?

Hi Hiren,
I'm afraid I can't give you good news, as we have the same issue (same version). We have been told by SAP that this is bug in the MS version, which I believe they are working on, however no news as yet as to when they expect to issue a fix for it.

Error while saving dynamic hierarchy

Hi,
I'm configuring consolidation on BPc NW 7.5.
I get an error message while I try to save Dynamic Hierarchy. The error message says that : "Error running default logic ()".
Pleaes note that I dont have anything in the default logic.
Please help.

SAP BPC - Legal entity/Profit Center hierarchies - Time dependency

Hello,
Usually Organizational structure (legal entity/ Profit center) hierarchies are time dependent in EC-CS and BCS.
Are these hierarchies time dependent in BPC?
If yes, How these settings should be made in BPC?

BPC NW does NOT support time dependent hierarchies. However in 7.5NW, you can use dynamic hierarchy editor that will enable you to do time dependent BPC reports.

An InfoCube of SAP BW is connected with the Dimension Table. This Dimension Table is connected with the SID Table. This SID Table is connected with the Characteristic, which is connected with Attribute Table, Text Table, and Hierarchy Table. Does this SAP BPC 10 or 7.5 or 7.0 NW cube follow the same structure.

WriteTreeData: Error while saving Dynamic Hierarchy Changes

Hi Experts,
I'm encountering an error "writeTreeData: Error in clsMain::writeData : Type mismatch" when I save the changes that I've made in the Dynamic Hierarchy Editor, does anyone encountered this error before? I'm using BPC 7.0 MS.

example
for my time dimension i've noticed that it is in the parent member
time = 2008.yr
if just replace it with
time = 2008.dec
and then it works

Data (Master Data Changes and Transaction Data) from SAP BW to SAP BPC 5.1

Hi guys
I have seen posts on this forum describing data transfers from SAP R/3 to SAP BPC. I assume the procedure for data transfers from SAP BW to SAP BPC 5.1 should be the same i.e. using SSIS packages.
However I have some unique requirements -
1. DATA AT DIFFERENT AGGREGATED LEVELS - I need data from SAP BW at different levels - Some data comes at Product level while other at Customer level and some at Project Level. The current procedure takes BW queries output in excel sheets (6 files) and then use the data manager package to load the data in SAP BPC 5.1 using appropriate transformation and conversion files. This procedure is highly manual and I am looking at using SSIS package to do this. However, because of having data at different levels, it becomes a little tricky. How can we achieve this using SSIS?
2. UPDATING MASTER DATA - I need to update the master data (dimension members) in SAP BPC 5.1 at the start of every month. The current procedure compares (in MS ACCESS) the data from the queries mentioned in 1 to the dimension members in SAP BPC 5.1 and spits a file with the new entries which needs to be manually updated in the appropriate dimensions using Admin Console. I am looking at automating this task. I cannot just replace all the contents of a dimension with the members coming from SAP BW since the dimension members contains some dummy members which are used for planning.
3. HIERARCHY CHANGES - What is the best way to capture the hierarchy changes in SAP BW into SAP BPC 5.1?

Reply: Approval process works with changes in the work status settings while data planning moves over the controlling Approval hierarchy. So in the schedule you can have a display of the current work status using EVLCK()

Multiple SQL Queries in SAP BPC 5.1 EVMODIFY

Hi All,
We have multiple SQL Queries in Outlooksoft 4.2 which extracts data from Oracle source system with different set of selections and conditions and parameters. We were able to use multiple SQL Queries in Outlooksoft 4.2 using Transform Data Flow Task and paste parameters using evModify dynamic script task, where ever extract to source system is needed.
According to SAP BPC 5.1, all these multiple SQL Queries and extracts by passing parameters will be coded in EVMODIFY dynamic script editor.But, EVMODIFY dynamic script editor is not working with the sets of multiple SQL Queris.It's able to recognize and execute the first SQL Query, but not able to execute from the second SQL Query.
Does any body, did multiple extracts using SQL Queries to the source system by passing parameters using SAP BPC 5.1 data manager and SSIS Packages, please let me know, how you did achieve the above functionality.

Thanks for your update, I tried declaring the variable between %%....GLOBAL(%GTIMEID%,%SELECTION%) and the package runs now but the problem is that the package is executed using the default date value for the variable GTIMEID declared in the DTSX package and its not taken the date that I'm trying to pass from BPC. Send parameter from one script logic to another. SAP BPC 7.5 NW.

Before i start, want to apologize for my English.
We work on SAP BPC 7.5 for NetWeaver.
In general, we want to send parameter from one Script logic file to another script logic file.
I will explain why :
1. We have parametr like %C_CATEGORY_SET% (and another four parameter, like groups, currency and etc.) that work on one script(next, i will named it A_Script).
       We will send this parametr from BPC EXCEL (we will create button, then use command MNU_eData_SelectPackage(we also set parameters) and run package that we need, also before we set script for this package by the SAP Guide. We send some data, and this A_Script work good. Everything that we want from this script work correctly. )
2. Next we create another script(B_Script) , and we want use %C_CATEGORY_SET%, but we don't know how use this parametr, if we will just write this parametr on Script Logic, apears error ("C_CATEGORYDATAVALUE" is not assigned to the Data Administrator). We try to solve this problem by using System_Constants.lgf, but we get error.

If we will change %C_CATEGORY_SET% for ACTUAL, and also change another parameters, script will work, package will run correctly. But we need using parameters, because we didn't exactly what will choose our client.
Our question have BPC Script Logic some kind of Globar Parameter(Variable), that we will set in A_Script, and then use them on B_Script?
How can we define parameter from another script logic, maybe we should send it?
Should we use System_Constants for solving this problem, if yes, how?

1. About %ENTITYSET% it is normal. Before this line i write :
*SELECT(%ENTITYSET%, "ENTITY", GROUPS, "[ID]=%GROUPS_SET%")
So it is not this problem. %ENTITYSET% just parameter, that i used.
2. Are you running the scripts using the same data manager package? I am running two different package for 2 different Script.
For example aPackage for aScript, and bPackage for bScript.
My questions was how can i send parametr from one script to another, for example i can run another script by using BADi command Runlogic, but how can send parameter that i need to used on another script. I have for example parameter %GROUPS_SET% (CG001) on aScript, but i can't get this parameter on another script, if i write %GROUPS_SET% i will get error ("GROUPSDATAVALUE" is not assigned to the Data Administrator)
OR
Maybe if you will answer for next question, i will be able solve problem , How can i send parameter CG001 (this is %GROUPS_SET%, for example it stay in EXCEL in cell A5) from excel to script logic by running package. Maybe i can get cell value on Dynamic Script Data Management?

Reports in SAP BPC

Dear All,
I uploaded datafile succssfully. And i am displaying uploaded data in BPC-Web---->Darg & Drop report.
But When i am trying to dispaly my uploaded data in BPC-Execel-->Reporting & Analysis->Bulid a report using dynamic template
my budget items are disaplying but amounts are not diaplaying.
Can any one please give me guidence.

In SAP BI, we have standard BI content reports which is present which just needs to be installed and is ready to be used.We are trying to find such Audit trail reports and unable to find those reports in SAP BPC 10 NW version.

Built-in templates for Legal Consolidation in SAP BPC

Hi guys
I am doing a demo for legal consolidation and was wondering if there are built-in input scehdules (templates) in SAP BPC to assign the consolidation methods to entities (to let the system know how an entity needs to be rolled up in a group)?
Also are there any input schedules (templates) to enter the Ownership % and Control % for various subsidiaries under a parent?

I don't think any of the default applications come with pre-built input templates. The legal applications does come with a number of pre-configured business rules, but as far as pre-built input templates go none are available. That being said, it is pretty easy to build a simple input template using the dynamic templates that come with BPC. Starting with one of these you should be able to configure one of them for your demo without much trouble. Let me know if you need help with that.
