Dynamic images? Help greatly Appriciated!

I've searched the web for quite a while now, and cannot find
a definate answer to my problem.
I'm trying to dynamically load about 10 images into their own
movie clips, all of which will be on the screen at the same time.
It needs to be dynamic because the images will be changed
often.
I've tried "loadMovie" and am using the origonal flash mx,
version 6, so i have no loader component, which i think makes this
much easier.
I've searched this forum and havent found anything that seems
to work.
If someone would help me it would be great! I'm trying to get
a web site done and this has got me baffeled.

using enterFrame is even worse. loadFrame won't do anything
so there's no harm and no benefit.
the onEnterFrame() method is a loop. i know it sounds like it
should execute once when the play head enters a frame but that's
not what it does. it repeatedly executes fps times per second where
fps is your _level0 frame rate.
so, that bit of code will put a hit on a user's cpu with no
benefit because the loading can never really get much beyond
starting when it's re-started.
like i said in my above message, if you want to execute that
loadMovie() statement when the playhead enters the frame that
contains your loadMovie() statement, just use the code i gave
above, attached to the frame.

Have you selected which disk you want to boot from? In System Preferences, click startup disk and choose the drive you want as your default boot drive.

Dynamic Images in PDF Report

Hi,
I want to create Badges from employee table (ID, NAME, JOB_TITLE, PHOTO). I downloaded and installed a demo application "USING DYNAMIC IMAGES IN PDF REPORT". It works fine with smale images < 20K. I'm getting the following error for images > 20K :
"ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: raw variable length too long"
it seems like a buffer problem.
could you pls help to solve this problem

That was exactly* I was looking for. Maybe I should Google more in German ;-)
The main problem was that I defined my image outside the first repeating group (that doesn't repeat, it's always just one object) - the first group is followed by 7 more.
Just like the "Name" (that's positioned outside the group in the document header), I positioned the image above the table representing the group.
Doing that, the "Name" is filled correctly, the Image only when the Output Format is Excel or HTML - not Word or PDF ... makes no sense but that's tje way it is.
After moving the image inside the group....it works great!
(One more thing...the image size is fixed to the image you use as "dummy". Is there any way to make that more flexible, because now some scaling happens...)???
@Trent: That was the way we initially did it, but when the size of the row exceeds 32K...you know what happens.. And even with a small image the 32K limit is hit easily
The way I use it now (very similar to Carsten's description) there is no limit....

Dynamic Images in PDF and Escaping Special Characters

I used the following to create my own PDFs with dymnamic images:

I have installed this application on Oracle's free workspace to test.
The issue I am having is that when there is a special character in the description, such as <>'"& then the the PDF will not open. I have tried using the dmbs_xmlgen.convert to convert the description but haven't had any luck.
I'm a complete novice with xml. Any help with this is greatly appreciated.

I have been able to find a solution, but it's not completely perfect. I have changed the "description" field as follows:
XMLCdata(replace(description,''&'',''and'')) description,
The characters greater than (>), less than (<), single qoute('), and double quote (") can now all be in the description and will not cause errors. For some reason, I couldn't get the & not to give an error no matter what I tried, so I just replaced the & with the word "and". This solution will work for my needs, but it would be nice to be able to get the & to display.
Does anyone know of a way to get the & to display correctly?

Dynamic Image Gallery AS2

I have dipped in almost every search engine and this site to
locate some easier way to create dynamic image gallery in Flash 8
AS2 using ASP (as i am conversant with ASP only, although i found
many sites suggesting PHP and XML). I'd be very greatful to u all

It creates its own folder when you first upload images with
the integrated Image uploader. Then it loads the images in with
ASP.

Dynamic Images Scroller - Almost Finished

Ciao Guys,
I am developing a Dynamic Images Scroller , It is almost
finished (even if it is still a bit rough)
Since I am a self-taught coder, I had to build the whole
project using different tutorials.
The scroller is XML driven and display the images which move
from left to right. When one of the images is clicked:
The scrolling STOPS.
The image clicked is enlarged
And the other pictures are scaled and faded away.
(No problem up to this point)
Then once the Enlarged picture is clicked again everything
should come back to the initial status.
My issue is that I haven’t be able to
“restart” the function which move the images along the
stage.
Once the enlarge image is clicked I delete the function which
scroll the image but How I should lunch it again?
Here is my messy code, Please help me and I’ll buy you

Sever Newbie wants to try his hand with Dynamic Images

First off, I am a new Flash8 user (less than 3 months).
I've read a lot of posts on how to create a SWF using Dynamic
Images, but to tell you the truth...I can't seem to figure it out.
I'd like to recreate the following SWF using my own data as

is not always reliable.
I've read that you must convert each image into a movie and
then load that movie using the loadmovie. I can PROBABLY figure
that part out, but I've tried creating a FLA and inserting a MOVIE
image but nothing happens.
Like I said, I am about as green as they come, but we all
have to start somewhere.
Any tips / help / links would be GREATLY appreciated.

I tried your suggestion, but it only works locally. When I
try it out on the Web, it doesn't work. I believe the reason why is
that I am trying to load a SWF from another website. Since SWF's
can't execute calls necessary to build the dynamic images...nothing
appears.
Is there a way around this?

How do get a dynamic image to open in new browser window

I'm using DW CS3, mysql (MAMP) OS 10.6.2 I'm designing my online store. I need the customer to be able to click dynamic image/thumbnails to view a larger image in a new browser pop up window 400 x 400. An example of this functionality can be seen at :

So far I can get the separate new browser window to open with the dynamic image, using the open new browser behavior, but the on click also advances to next page with the larger image. You have to press the back button to get back to the product page. I want the customer to be able to see the product page , while viewing larger image, and then close larger image, and still have the product page open. I don't understand why 2 windows are opening.

Showing dynamic images in BI Publisher PDF report

I defined a RTF report layout in BI Publisher. Almost done, but one requirement missing...
I should be able to include a dynamic image (so every "object" on the report has it's own image).
At first I embedded the base64 converted image in the XML output, but then I am running into the 32K limit. (Small pictures render fine).
Although Marc Sewtz sort of promised in June 2008 (!) : "One issue, which we'll address in the next version of Application Express, is the 32k limit on report columns." on his blogpost http://marcsewtz.blogspot.com/2008/06/one-question-about-pdf-printing-feature.html , it still not addressed.
So I tried to embed the image in the report using a trick described on the forum (and BIP documentation), by embedding a dummy picture and set the "Alt-text" of the picture to
(as an example) : url:{'http://www.oracleimg.com/us/assets/oralogo-small.gif'}.
The strange thing is, that works fine for HTML Output and Excel output, but not for Word and PDF (why it does work for Excel and not for Word is very mysterious....). And of course I need a PDF output.
I also tried to embed a FO snippet:

But that doesn't (seem to) work on any output...
But

Not able to display a dynamic image

I'm not able to display a dynamic image on Adobe print form.
Here is what I did.
Please let me know what I need to do to get this working...
1. Created a Graphics node in the Context of the Adobe form.
2. In the URL tab of the graphics node defined the following two lines:
     <URL pointing to the MIME repository folder>
     IM_FILENAME_1
     Where IM_FILENAME_1 is being passed to the Adobeform function module.
3. In the Layout mode, dragged and dropped the Graphics node from the
    contenxt tab to the form layout. On doing so it appears as a image field in the form layout.
4. Activated the form.
BUT, when I run the form , the image is not showing up.
The idea is to pass the image file name to the form so that it will show up a dynamic image at run time.

Try this, that should work.
In the interface , define a parameter type string where you will store the URL of the image .
In the initialization part of the interface , check if the URL is defined, in case it's empty define a default URL . You should put the compelte URL of the image like "http://www.company.org:8080/logo.logo.jpg" .
Then link this parameter to the Grpahic Node in the URL parameters .
Let me know if that works

Dynamic Image Gallery Issue

images load in the empty movie clip, all the images are loading in
the same size/dimension. Does anyone know how I can command the MC
to load the images in different sizes, another words - to load them
according to its own size?

if you google with "dynamic image gallery", you'll find a lot
of
tutorials & examples including pre-programmed solutions
if you prefer to do it yourself, you need to deal with
dynamic sites. DW

Developing Applications Rapidly can also help to understand
in fact you don't need a database, the images can be read
from the
folder they're stored. that way to update a gallery you only
need to
remove/replace/add images. one folder for each gallery
and the application development forum is best suited for your
question

Dynamic Images in adobe

Hello All,
I have a requirement for dynamic images on Adobe form.
I have some images stored on portal server in a afolder called images which gets upadeted every hour . I have developed a java webservice which can get this images from the portal server.
The reponse of the webservice is like " http://<Hostname>:<portnumner>/images/abc.png". I have impoted this webservice as Adaptive webservice model in WD.
I have executed this webservice in WD and binded the response to IFRAME UI element and I am able to images(http://<Hostname>:<portnumner>/images/abc.png).
Now I want these images to be on the PDF.
I have installed and configurred ADS and binded the Webservice response as Datasource to the intercative form. I am able to see the datasourcse in the data view of the interactive form.
Now when I bind the response to the Image Field UI element I am unable to see the image.
Please let me know if anyone has any idea on this.

It's an issue with ADS. Exactly not an issue but a requirement. The server on which images are available, has to be exposed to ADS.
Your Admin might help you on that.

Dynamic images display issues in FF and Opera

on this page displays properly in Explorer but it will not
display in Opera
or Firefox. It works correctly in Netscape when Netscape is
set to display
as Explorer.
