Dynamic input to chart

Hi,
1 ) in my iview i'm displaying the output of an BI query in table view.
2 ) If the user selects some values from the table a graph for that corresponding value should be displayed.. if the user selects multiple values then graph should be updated for that corresponding value..wat should be the input to that graph? i tried giving the output of the table to graph, but the graph is plotted for all the values.
I've achieved the 1st step..
Plz guide me to implement the 2nd step..

You can use <b>Value Help Configuration Wizard</b> for multiple selecion of rows to act as input for another table or form view.
The wizard generates an embedded iView that represents the value help dialog box and its functionality. Next to the input field, the wizard also generates a value help button. At runtime, when the user presses the button, the dialog box appears and lists values for the input field.
In your case you can select multiple rows by enabling "Multiple selection" while creating the Iview.

Dynamically displaying SPC Chart Title

This method and all of the other helpful get/set syntax methods are easy found by using the Script Assistant, which is part of the Productivity Tool installation that you can add to your client workstation by running the Wizard Install link found in the xMII Menu's Visualization Services section.

Dynamically set flash chart height?

Hi,
I have a flash chart that includes a selector that alters the query for the chart. Depending on what the user selects, the chart shows a different number of rows (this happens to be a stacked horizontal bar chart, but this could apply to any chart type). I would like to be able to dynamically set the chart height based on the number of rows the query returns. If I set it too small and the user makes a choice that returns a larger number of rows, the chart bars are compressed to the point where the labels are unreadable or omitted altogether. Conversely, if I set the height to a larger value and the user makes a selection that results in a small number of rows, the chart is overly extended and hard to read.
I am able to calculate what I'd like the chart height to be using a page item and a before header process. But I can't figure out how to pass this value to AnyChart. I tried using an item substitution (e.g., &P7_CHART_HEIGHT.) as the value for the chart height on the Chart Attributes/Chart Settings page, but this attribute requires a non-zero numeric value. I tried to figure out if I could alter the chart XML, but could not figure out how to do it and I'm not sure item substitutions would be passed in the XML anyway.
Is there a way to dynamically set the height attribute of a chart at page load time?

Hi Mike,
You can update the Region Source of your chart, replacing the substitution strings *#HEIGHT#* with the reference to your page item *&P7_CHART_HEIGHT.*. So your chart region source should then look something like the following(note that I've trimmed some lines for display purposes), and when the chart is run it will pick up your setting for the height, based upon the value returned from your Before Header process:

Dynamic web-based Chart-Generation

Hi,
I want to a offer my users a dynamic web-based Chart-Generation.
Actually I'm using Excel for generating charts and display the result in a static HTML-Page.
My goal is the user selects the wanted chart (eg. in a dropdown-menue) and this chart will be created immediately.
The charts are connected to a database where the data have been stored.
Is there existing a Freeware-Tool/Module I can use?

Before FireFox got SVG and made such things obsolete, I spent a couple of sundays playing around with server-side image generation for prettier flow-charts and UML - see http://www.lapisblue.net/ for examples, http://tincancamera.com/examples/java/lapisblue/image-server/ for source code.
It's nothing special, you're free to use it if you want - the main image generation servlet's ImageServlet; it serves up pngs, and caches and redirects repeated requests; the other servlets have different image generator classes.

Can we see dynamic data on charts using Excel Services

hi all,
i would like to know if there is any option in SharePoint 2013 for developing dynamic "responsive/interactive Charts" with SQL server as data source. And the connection should be there online, i mean the charts should refresh data based on
the SQL data all the time.
When i saw the feature of excel service, i could see only retrieving of data using data connection from sql and after adding that data to workbook, we can create responsive charts with required filters. However, i dint see option of data refresh from external
source without opening the excel work book.
What i want is, once i added the chart using chart webpart, if any new data is added or modified in external data source i.e., like SQL in my case, the chart should automatically updated with new changes in the data.
please let me know if my requirement can be fulfilled using OOB.

Data in a Microsoft Office Excel workbook that has been displayed in Excel Services can come from two different locations. The data may be stored directly in the workbook, or it may be stored in an external data source, such as in a database or
in an Online Analytical Processing (OLAP) cube.
If the data comes from an external data source, the workbook author or administrator has defined the connection information, often in an Office data connection (.odc) file, which describes how to locate, log in, query, and access the external data source.
When you are connected to an external data source, you can perform a refresh operation to retrieve the updated data. Each time that you refresh data, you see the most recent version of the data, including any changes that were made to the data since it was
last refreshed.
Refresh all connections
On the Excel Web Access toolbar, under the Update menu, click
Refresh All Connections.
Periodic refresh
By using Office Excel 2007, the workbook author can specify that data automatically refreshes at a specified interval after the workbook is opened for each connection in the workbook. For example, an inventory database may be updated every hour, and so the

A Web Part author can select or clear the Allow Excel Web Access Periodic Data Refresh property to enable or disable this periodic refresh operation, if the property has been defined by the workbook author. When the time interval elapses,

Refresh data for <List of Connections>? (Now) (Always) (Don't ask me again)
An Excel Web Access Web Part author can also set the Display Periodic Data Refresh Prompt property to control the behavior of the message that is displayed when Excel Services performs a periodic data refresh during a session:
Always      means that the message is displayed with a prompt at each interval.
Optionally      means that a user can choose to continue periodic refresh without displaying a message.
Never      means that Excel Web Access performs a periodic refresh without displaying a message or prompt.

Dynamic input

I am displaying a SAPSCIPT through program.Before displaying it I have to choose groupvalues or individual value.If it is individual then i don't have any problem because I have to display the dialog box which accepts details and current status values of that particular individual only once.But I don't know how to display dailog box which accepts these 2 values dynamically without knowing the number before for groupvalues.Because the group which we select may have 3,4 or any other number of individual values.Please help me.

We are into a project in Oracle Portal Server where in we want to embed a result of a standalone application in Portal page.
We can do that once we can embed the result of the standalone application which generates applet based on the input it gets from the current application's database.
If it was static we could have used jsp:plugin but, it fails in our case!
We are clueless as to how to embed an applet which will pick up the data dynamically.
Can anyone of you help me in this regard?

The plugin example illustrates a <html> uniform way of embedding applets in a web page. Before the advent of the <OBJECT> tag, there was no common way of embedding applets. This tag is poorly designed and hopefully future specs will allow for dynamic attributes (height="${param.height}", code="${chart}", etc) and dynamic parameters. Currently, the jsp:plugin tag does not allow for dynamically called applets. For example, if you have a charting applet that requires the data points to be passed in as parameters, you can't use jsp:params unless the number of data points are constant. You can't, for example, loop through a ResultSet to create the jsp:param tags. You have to hand code each jsp:param tag. Each of those jsp:param tags however can have a dynamic name and a dynamic value.

F4 Help for a dynamic input field( class CL_DD_INPUT_ELEMENT)

I am programming a dynamic document which has several input fields on it. I want to program F4 helps for these fields, does anyone have an idea how I can do that?
I have the idea to program a button(class CL_DD_BUTTON_ELEMENT) next to the input field and manually program an F4 help in the event handler of the button. But I do not know how I can handle pattern entries with '*' etc. in the input field. Is there a function module which could give me an F4 list(F4IF_INT_TABLE_VALUE_REQUEST could not be used, because it needs a dynpro field as a return field, which we do not have in this case).

Dynamic Input form with PLAN and Actual Confusion (YEAR-row / MONTH-Column)

Assume that
Row Axis: YEAR
Column Axis: MONTH
Page Axis: VERSION
From the VERSION dimension, we re able to get Budget Year and the latest Actual Month.
For example, As u see below, the budget year is 2014 and we retreive + or - 2 years of budget year which is 2014.
And the latest actual month is Jun.
So is it possible to make a dynamic report that can retreive actual data for the budget year and latest actual month of selected VERSION and also rest of the cells should be inputtable.
By the way, we have a dimension which named as for the PLAN , ACTUAL etc.
So what do you suggest for that case? Is there any way to handle without VBA?

I agree Vadim, you do not need extra dimension for time. You can "report" in Bex analyzer with this format but BPC reporting/input schedules is not dynamic enough. Because you can not use property in axis but in Bex it is possible. Maybe you can change input form design because where is other contex in your form, 2012.01 what, price or stocks or sth? You have to specify account and entity. I think it is useless design to input data. I added figure for sales model. In this figure, you can manage actual / budget with "if" and "today" excel formulas. And you can easily link your olap member in column axis. I think it will help you.

Dynamic title for Chart created by an xml-file in SAP ChartDesigner

I created an xml-file with SAP ChartDesigner for using it in my abap program. I import this file as a MIME-Object.
Everything works fine, i declared my charts and all my values.
But now I need a dynamic title on the top.
And know that I can give a title in my xml. But it's not dynamic.
I looked into the xml file and the path for the title is:

and then Caption.

Dynamic input form in ADF

Hi,
i need to create an input form in ADF, which contains radio groups ,check boxes ,LOV's and text boxes as form fields.
these form fields i need to configure in DB specifying the type of the UI component(LOV,Text fields or Radio or check box)
by reading the type, UI component has to be rendered and validations should be fired dynamically.
is it possible in ADF?

ADF Faces offers a library of dynamic components that includes dynamic form and
dynamic table widgets that you can drop from the Data Controls panel. Dynamic
components differ from standard components in that all the binding metadata is
created at runtime. This dynamic building of the bindings allows you set display
information using control hints on a view object instead of configuring the information
in the Edit Form Fields dialog as you drop the control onto the page. Then if you want
to change how the data displays, you need only change it on the view object, and all
dynamic components bound to that view object will change their display accordingly.
With standard components, if you want to change any display attributes (such as the
order or grouping of the attributes) you would need to change each page on which the
data is displayed.

Schedule Module program in Background with Dynamic Input values ?

I am trying a schedule a Standard Transaction which has Month,year and other Check boxes (By default they are Empty) .I need to schedule it monthly and Input must change dynamically when I run in background each month..
How do we do this?

You can not directly schedule a module pool program in background job. These are usually reports. What you can do is create a custom report program with your parameters on a selection screen. In this program you can do a BDC over the standard transaction filling the parameters from the selection screen of the custom program. This custom program can also have a selection screen variant which uses selection variables that will change dynamically. Then you can schedule the custom report program via SM36.
