Dynamic Item Code Parameter list

Dear Experts,
I have a problem  here. I have a range of item codes as parameters in a report. I realized  that not all item codes are here . The item codes in the master are very many but the parameters displayed in the report are  just a part of the item codes.   How can I get the entire item code list to be displayed in the parameter range ?

Hi,
Which CR version are you using?  When prompting parameter, parameter will display in batch. You can browse all item codes by changing batch number.

    I wanu2019t to do an import with a dynamic parameter list, but I cannot get it to work.
    Sample code ********

  • Report Viewer Dynamic Parameter List not showing a complete list of values

    Hi, I have installed the crystal report runtime 13.0.1.220 for framework 4.0 in a 64-bit windows 7 professional server.
    I have an aplication that opens crystal reports using the crystal report viewer control for visual studio 2010, also version 13.0.1.220.
    ISSUE: The report opens fine, but it does not shows all the available values in the dynamic parameter list.
    I have tried setting the MaxRowsetRecords registry key to diferent values but it does not work.
    I do not have any crystal report stand alone version installed in my server.
    Please help me?

    Hi Ludek,
    yes i followed the instructions of the KBase you are mentioning, but it isn't working for me.
    I modified the following keys:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SAP BusinessObjects\Crystal Reports for .NET Framework4.0\Crystal Reports\DatabaseOptions\LOV
    and
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\SAP BusinessObjects\Crystal Reports for .NET Framework4.0\Crystal Reports\DatabaseOptions\LOV
    1) I had to create the LOV key under the DatabaseOptions in both keys.
    2) Inside the LOV keys I created the new string value MaxRowsetRecords and set the value to different values. (Ex: 5000, 10000 and 1000000)
    3) I restarted my server. Still not working.
    4) Then after that i modified the following registry keys: (leaving the first 2 keys modified)
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SAP BusinessObjects\Crystal Reports for .NET Framework4.0\Crystal Reports\DatabaseOptions\LOV
    and
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SAP BusinessObjects\Crystal Reports for .NET Framework4.0\Crystal Reports Designer Component\DatabaseOptions\LOV
    5) Also had to create the LOV key under the DatabaseOptions in both keys.
    6) Inside the LOV keys I created the new string value MaxRowsetRecords and set the value to different values. (Ex: 5000, 10000 and 1000000)
    7) Restarted my server. still not working
    8)  Then after that i modified the following registry key: (leaving the first 4 keys modified)
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SAP BusinessObjects\Crystal Reports for .NET Framework4.0\Crystal Reports Designer Component\ReportView
    Inside this key I created the DWORD PromptingLOVBatchSize and gave it a decimal value of 1000000
    9) Restarted the server. Still not working. For crying out LOUD!!

  • Dynamic Parameter List questions: Length and Custom Values

    I've got a Crystal Report that I want to use Dynamic Values for.
    Right now... this report is simply a "SELECT stuff  FROM table" SQL query... with a parameter that the report uses to filter.
    I use a "Select DISTINCT value from table" to generate a list of values. I put those values into a txt. I then import the text into a static list. This creates a parameter list that is 11 "pages" long on the parameter screen. I also have "custom" values allowed. This is to allow for "new" values and also allow not needing to browse 11 pages for one or two known values.
    If I turn the parameter into a Dynamic List based on the same Select statement it stops at 5 pages, obviously cutting off half of the possible values.
    Dynamic List also removes the ability to do Custom Values. The filter option wouldn't be a bad alternative BUT it don't work for pages 6+ that aren't there.
    How can I remove the 5 page limit (or whatever it is) for Dynamic values?
    Thanks
    Chris

    There is a limit of 1000 records in dynamic parameters. You can change this by adding a registry value:
    registry key : HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Business Objects\Suite 11.0\Crystal Reports\DatabaseOptions\LOV
    and then add a key called MaxRowsetRecords and give it a value.
    if you have Crystal 2008 then the above registry folder will say Suite 12.0.

  • Parameter list and prompt restricted to 50 items

    Hi,
    Is there a way to increase the restriction of the parameter list(LOV) to more than 50 items?
    Regards,
    Robert

    Hi
    U can configure more than 50 values by changing the RecordsLimitForValueBrowser configuration setting in
    C:\OracleBAM\BAM\web.config,. and after that restart all the BAM services and Microsoft IIS.

  • Dynamically finding Number of Parameters in Parameter List.

    Hi All,
    Does it possible to count the number of parameters in the list.
    I am creating discoverer report so I need to find out how many periods I am passing in parameter list.

    Regards,

    No, you can't "read" a forms parameter-list.

  • Create Timer Jobs dynamically using code (on the fly)

    What I am trying to accomplish here is different from the usual "Create and deploy a new custom timer job". So please co operate.
    Scenario : I have around 200 lists in my site. Each list gets its data from a third part web service (cutom code / not BCS). The data retrieval happens via Timer Jobs. The Timer Jobs call the web service, gets the fresh data and updates the
    list items. This is currently working fine with multiple lists and 1 timer job to refresh the data.
    Problem : Now the issue I am facing is, each of the lists have its own Refresh Frequency. Say List 1 to 30 needs to be refreshed every 5 mins. List 31 to 60 every 10 mins, etc. I am currently handling this by having a RefreshLastRun timestamp.
    This works fine in most of the scenarios - unless the Web service returns large data, in which case it takes more than 5 to 10 mins for the Update to complete on 4 to 5 lists. At the same time, the other lists - they were supposed to be updated 5 mins ago,
    but are still waiting to get updated because the timer job is busy updating another list, and the refresh is in Que. This is a completely unaccepatable solution to my client because the list with lower frequency duration (5 mins) is of a higher priority than
    the lists getting refreshed every 10 mins.
    My Question is : How do I create a new Timer Job for each list? Whenever I add a new list (through code), I want to create a Timer Job at the same time, which will take care of refreshing the data in this and this list only. This way, I will
    have a independent Timer Job for each list and dont have to depend on 1 timer job to take all the load. With this approach I will have 200 timer jobs running. Which is OK with my client. So I create one class inhereting from SPJobDefinition class, and
    use it repeatedly to create unlimted timer jobs?
    I hope I am able to convey the message. My Timer Jobs are working fine. I dont need suggestions on how to get the timer job working etc. My question is, how do I create a new Job Definition dynamically through code (no deployment).
    Hanif

    I'm afraid this leads to a path where you create a single timer job (or windows service) that uses parallel programming (tpl) to handle all the lists. However, that places a huge burden on you to manage schedules, monitoring etc., something the timer job
    framework handles for you.

  • How to get items from a list that has more items than the List View Threshold?

    I'm using SharePoints object model and I'm trying to get all or a subset of the items from a SharePoint 2010 list which has many more items than the list view threshold (20,000+) using the SPList.GetItems() method. However no matter what I do the SPQueryThrottledException
    always seems to be thrown and I get no items back.
    I'm sorting based on the ID field, so it is indexed. I've tried setting the RowLimit property on the SPQuery object(had no effect). I tried specifying the RowLimit in the SPQuerys ViewXml property, but that still throws a throttle exception. I tried using the
    ContentIterator as defined here:http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/microsoft.office.server.utilities.contentiterator.aspx,
    but that still throws the query throttle exception. I tried specifying the RowLimit parameter in the ProcessListItems functions, as suggested by the first comment here:http://tomvangaever.be/blogv2/2011/05/contentiterator-very-large-lists/,
    but it still throws the query throttle exception. I tried using GetDataTable instead, still throws query throttle exception. I can't run this as admin, I can't raise the threshold limit, I can't raise the threshold limit temporarily, I can't override the lists
    throttling(i.e. list.EnableThrottling = false;), and I can't override the SPQuery(query.QueryThrottleMode = SPQueryThrottleOption.Override;). Does anyone know how to get items back in this situation or has anyone succesfully beaten the query throttle exception?
    Thanks.
    My Query:
    <OrderBy>
        <FieldRef Name='ID' Ascending='TRUE' />
    </OrderBy>
    <Where>
        <Geq><FieldRef Name='ID' /><Value Type='Counter'>0</Value></Geq>
    </Where>
    My ViewXml:
    <View>
        <Query>
            <OrderBy><FieldRef Name='ID' Ascending='TRUE' /></OrderBy>
            <Where>
                <Geq><FieldRef Name='ID' /><Value Type='Counter'>0</Value></Geq>
            </Where>
        </Query>
        <RowLimit>2000</RowLimit>
    </View>
    Thanks again.

    I was using code below to work with 700000+ items in the list.
    SPWeb oWebsite = SPContext.Current.Web;
    SPList oList = oWebsite.Lists["MyList"];
    SPQuery oQuery = new SPQuery();
    oQuery.RowLimit = 2000;
    int intIndex = 1;
    do
    SPListItemCollection collListItems = oList.GetItems(oQuery);
    foreach (SPListItem oListItem in collListItems)
    //do something oListItem["Title"].ToString()
    oQuery.ListItemCollectionPosition = collListItems.ListItemCollectionPosition;
    intIndex++;
    } while (oQuery.ListItemCollectionPosition != null);
    Oleg
    Hi Oleg, thanks for replying.
    The problem with the code you have is that your SPQuery object's QueryThrottleMode is set to default. If you run that code as a local admin no throttle limits will be applied, but if you're not admin you will still have the normal throttle limits. In my
    situation it won't be run as a local admin so the code you provided won't work. You can simulate my dilemma by setting the QuerryThrottleMode  property to SPQueryThrottleOption.Strict, and I'm sure you'll start to get SPQueryThrottledException's
    as well on that list of 700000+ items.
    Thanks anyway though

  • Dynamic Item Renderer

    Hello everyone,
    I used Catalyst to design my interaction and navigation and then use Flash Builder to add all my logic. Everything works as expected but i have one issue regarding my item renderer data list.
    Here is my issue : i set up an itemRenderer for a dynamic calendar filled by a database.
    Every schedule contain one to four workshops (data.ws, data.ws2. data.ws3 data.ws4) and are separated by a static bar (footerGroup)
    So, i am trying (since days now) to make this separate bar dynamic so there are no blank gap between repeated two schedules if there are less than 4 workshops.
    I reckon i need to code an actionscript "if statement" for the bar to move its Y according to workshops.
    Thanks for your help and guidance guys,

    Wouldn't I then just get one image? Whereas what I want is if

    Thus creating a bar of images.
    Im actually having trouble adding multiple images to the HBox

  • Dynamic Items - Restoring values on error

    I've got a page with some dynamic items. When I display a error on the page the values do not restore to reflect changes that the user made, rather the values stored in the DB. This makes sense as my code does not check to see if a error occurred.
    I'd like to check if a error occurred and if it did I can restore the user changes using the htmldb_application.g_fxx(x) function. So I'm wondering how do I know if a error occurred? i.e. is their a variable like the REQUEST variable which will be set if a error occurred?
    Now a bit on a side topic, when dealing with error validation of dynamic items I run into the following issue. I do the validation through one pl/sql check. It checks that all the fields have values in it. Imagine there are 5 fields (1 through 5), and the first 2 are empty. My error message says "Field 1 is empty... Field 2 is empty"... That all works but the page just says "1 error has occurred" and I have to list all the problems under that 1 error. I'd like it say "2 errors have occurred" instead. How can I do that when I only have 1 validation function? Is their a variable that I can increment for each error I find?

  • Handling dynamic item data in VSTS

    Hi Team,
    Can you please let us know how to handle dynamic item data in VSTS.
    Regards
    Raghavendra
    8105577088

    Hi Raghavendra,
    Based on your previous threads posted by you in the test forum, I doubt that you want to create the coded UI test, am I right?
    If so, which kind of app did you want to test, WPF or others? Could you share us a screen shot about the real UI controls you want to test? What real Controls you want to test, list item controls or others?
    You know that to find a control in coded UI test, we have to use the unique peoperties as the search properties, so if your controls are dynamic, the real issue would be related to the search properties you use in your code.
    Like this case:
    https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/4c4805f0-230d-459d-a3e5-61e62746c5b9/list-box-item-is-not-get-selected-while-play-back-the-recorded-script-in-coded-ui-test?forum=vsautotest
    As Pankaj's suggestion, if the list items are dynamic then you can use the index values instead of the innertext, so the real issue would be related to how to use the search perperties in your side. If you item text value is dynamic, you'd better not
    use the text value as the search properties.
    About "How does “Coded UI test” finds a control ??", reference:

    If I have misunderstood this issue, please feel free to let me know.

  • Adding an item to a List when clicking a WebPart Properties 'OK' button

    Hi all,
    I wonder if someone can help me. Im new to SharePoint Programming but learning slowly.
    I have a superb Web Part downloaded from Codeplex which essentially is a Countdown Timer in jQuery. (spCountdown) The code itself works perfectly however I want to tweak it, in what I thought would be a relatively easy thing to do.
    In the Web Part properties of the solution, there is a textbox where you enter the Date/Time which you wish to set the countdown timer. When I click 'OK' to submit the WebPart, I would like the date value in the textbox to be added to a List as a new List
    item. I've got the code to add the List item (or what im think is the correct code) but what I cant do is get the function to execute when the WebPart 'OK' button is clicked.
    Now, I have downloaded the source code which is available but I cant fathom how to hook the 'Update List Item' code onto the onclick event of the button (as I cant find an onclick event!). Any help to advise me what to do would be appreciated.
    My code to add the date to the new List:
    // create item in Deadline Configuration List
    using (SPSite oSiteCollection = new SPSite(SPContext.Current.Site.Url))
    using (SPWeb oWeb = oSiteCollection.OpenWeb())
    SPList oList = oWeb.Lists["DLConfig"];
    SPListItem oListItem = oList.Items.Add();
    oListItem["Title"] = "Deadline Date";
    oListItem["TaskDueDate"] = new DateTime(WebPart.TargetDate.Year, WebPart.TargetDate.Month, WebPart.TargetDate.Day);
    oWeb.AllowUnsafeUpdates = true;
    oListItem.Update();
    Original WebPart Code:
    SPCountdownWebpart.cs
    using System;
    using System.ComponentModel;
    using System.Web.UI.WebControls.WebParts;
    namespace SPCountdown.SPCountdownWebPart
    [ToolboxItemAttribute(false)]

    Can anyone help me with where I need to implement my code to get the List Item to be created when the Web Part properties are set?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    Please refer below link regarding web part custom properties,
    I think you need to write code under ApplyChanges() Method.I am not sure. Just try it once.

  • How to get key name  from parameter list

    hi..
    i want string from parameter list.. i hv already created parameter list like
    ADD_PARAMETER (param_list_id, 'EMPID', TEXT_PARAMETER,'123');
    ADD_PARAMETER (param_list_id, 'EMPNM', TEXT_PARAMETER, 'ABC');
    ADD_PARAMETER (param_list_id, 'EMPADD', TEXT_PARAMETER, 'XXX');
    i got value like '123' ,'ABC', 'XXX' using
    eg. get_parameter_attr(param_list_id,'EMPID',aprmlist,avalue)
    but i want key name like 'EMPID' , 'EMPNM', 'EMPADD' from param_list_id
    is it possible to get this key name from parameter list ???
    Thanks...

    I cannot think of a way to do that. The code that reads the list is supposed to know the key names. That is sort of the point with parameter lists. If you need to have parameter lists that can be interepreted by some code that doesn't know about a specific list but knows how to interpret it by inspecting the key names, perhaps you can specify a separate parameter list with the key names as values and call the keys of that list something generic?
