Dynamic iWeb design?

Hi all,
I designed my site with iWeb, and like it very much. However, nowadays so many people are browsing via their phones or tablets, I need my website to be dynamic so that it looks good on either a computer or a small phone.
So, are there any iWeb templates that you know of that are dynamic in this way instead of static?
If not, are there any iWeb alternatives that are dynamic?
I thought I'd take the plunge and try revamping my website on Wordpress, but the learning curve is a headache. I'm not a total novice at coding, but apparently enough of a novice that I can't seem to customize certain things. Mostly, I want something where I can build my new website OFFline until I'm ready to launch so that there is minimal interruption to my existing website.

Be advised that iWeb is not a supported product any longer and has not been sold or support by Apple for over 2 to 3 years now.
Now is not the time to be using iWeb to build a new website be it Mobile, Dynamic or otherwise.
The youtube video that Charlie linked to relates to a product called EverWeb NOT iWeb and you most certainly can use EverWeb to build mobile versions of your website as well as an ordinary site. Click on the link to EverWeb to take a look, but I would advise you that it is not a good idea to use an unsupported product.

Install a customer font - dynamic form design

Hi all,
we set the parameter gs_docparams-dynamic mit abap_true for generating the form, beause we locate some form objects dynamically. Now we need to embed our customer font other licenses (for the dynamic form design).
So, we installed the font (for dynamic design) on the ADS, but it is still the same problem, that the font is not embedded in the PDF.
Should the font be installed on the ADS and the client?
Do somebody have install instructions? ...or other ideas?

Hi,
What ever font you installed in ADS, Same font you need to install in your Desktop/Laptop where you are designing form.
Once the fonts are installed, they are visible in your form and you can include the fonts in the form.
Note: After Installing the font in ADS, you need to restart the ADS Service(Normally basis people will do this)

Iweb designs working outside MM

I am a heavy user of iweb, using iweb 09. I am dissapointed that apple have dropped iweb, and no longer seem to develop the app as it has so much potetntial.
However, i finally got round to buying a years web hosting space, and shared domain mapping folders (with some help from the friendly domian company 123reg-com. great help! cheers as im not tech savy really) and have moved all my sites to that.
I'm stopping using the host side of mobile me asap - before they drop all us iweb users in the s•••
So..it works fine, gallery works, etc. no hit counters..but i can live with that. All on LINUX servers.
im not sure what horrors lay ahead, but i hear iweb 09 works fine on lion. I love iwebs design capability.
You can always save the html slides into folders, then FTP them to domain sites.
Lets hope we can keep using iweb.
please advise if you know of any lion problems on iweb use.

It is now known that iWeb, and iDVD, has been discontinued by Apple. This is evidenced by the fact that new Macs are shipping with iLife 11 installed but without iWeb and iDVD.
On June 30, 2012 MobileMe will be shutdown. However, iWeb will still continue to work but without the following:
Features No Longer Available Once MobileMe is Discontinued:
◼ Password protection
◼ Blog and photo comments
◼ Blog search
◼ Hit counter
◼ MobileMe Gallery
All of these features can be replaced with 3rd party options.
I found that if I published my site to a folder on my hard drive and then uploaded with a 3rd party FTP client subscriptions to slideshows and the RSS feed were broken. If I published directly from iWeb to the FPT server those two features continued to work correctly.
There's another problem and that's with iWeb's popup slideshows. Once the MMe servers are no longer online the popup slideshow buttons will not display their images.

However, Roddy McKay and I have figured out a way to modify existing sites with those slideshows and iWeb itself so that those images will display as expected once MobileMe servers are gone. How to is described in this tutorial: #26 - How to Modify iWeb So Popup Slideshows Will Work After MobileMe is Discontinued.
It now appears that the iLife suite of applications offered on disc is now a discontinued product and the remaining supported iApps will only be available thru the App Store from now on. However, the iLife 11 boxed version that is still available at the online Apple Store (Store button at the top of the page) and those still on the shelves of retailers will include iWeb and iDVD. Those two apps were listed in small, gray text on the iLife 11 box that I bought.
Personally, if I didn't already have a copy I would purchase one to have it for reinstallation purposes if ever needed.

Is iWeb designed webpage/site uploadable only to .mac?

If I create an iWeb designed webpage/site will it be uploadable to any other web host or is it designed to work exclusively with .mac? I already have registration with and plan to use Godaddy.com. If iWeb is incompatible, then what is a good, basic, software program for designing a basic business webpage or site consisting of no more than 3-4 pages? Thanks.

Don't get the idea that iWeb works only for small sites. I have two sites, each encompassing over 100 pages of text plus graphics. it works fine for them, so long as no webpage is too long -- in which case, only part of the page shows when it is published to .Mac. I solved that problem by ending each page before the point where it quits publishing, and then add a "NEXT >>>" link, which carries the reader to the next webpage where the information continues.

Dynamic in Designer but not in Workspace

Hi all, I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction. I have a form with a few expanding tables and digital signatures that I created in Designer that works perfectly when i preview it. But when i use it in my process and render the form in worspace (or download it from workspace and open it on your desktop), the form no longer is dynamic. The buttons no longer add rows to my table or anything, and no javascript errors are showing up in my debugger. Is there anything that might cause this?
I'm thinking it might be my custom render process (which is just the default renderer with a policy and extensions added) might be causing the issue but i can't see why. Can anyone help me with this?

Sry, just to clarify, do you mean dynamic that the forms layout changes (eg hiding fields, adding rows, etc)? I'm asking only because you mentioned about data. So is the problem that rows are not being added and fields are not being hidden? Or that the data is not being imported into the form?
If its the second option, are you importing an xml data file? or is the data coming from a webservice? The things i would check are whether the form is properly bound, and the structure of the xml file you're importing while testing in designer (if you are importing a file) has the same structure of the data you're importing when in workspace.

Dynamic page design using ADFm

I am trying to build a page with many tables using Oracle ADFm. The problem is that I do not know how many tables or the contents of the table to be displayed at design time. That info will be available only at runtime. There will be java.util.Vector object whose each entry will be of type Collection and represent a table.
Can someone show me how to design data controls and page so that each entry of the Vector will be rendered as table at runtime?

Hi,
actually this is not a usecase for ADFm because ADF binding works with collections and not with collections of collections.
In your case it is easier to dynamically build ADF Faces tables and populate them from a managed bean.

How to make the text and frames on a iweb-designed site look universally aligned?

iweb was used to design my site which looks fine on my Mac but the site looks completely different on PC computers - parts of pages are cut off, text is jumbled, images are stretched out. How can the text images be stabilized?

What can be done to make sure the frame stays consistent no matter what browser or resolution accesses the website?

My iWeb designed pages are crashing on a PC

I recently re-designed our entire company's site using iWeb and I've discovered tonight that it looks like it's crashing on a PC - YIKES! What should I do about this? How do I fix this problem?

2 things I'm wondering about...I noticed a file on one of my pages (and image) has a file name that looks like this - ---_0017.png Could that be a problem with all the dashes and the underscore mark?
Also wondering if it could be my Webstat code. I noticed last night that my annual agreement had expired so is there any chance that by still copying and pasting the Webstat code into my side that it's screwing things up? Just a thought...

Problems with Dynamic PDF design

I have created a dynamic PDF Form having 30 text fields in a row. All these fields are bounded to XSD. The design is like, a row of fields display a single user informations. When I import a XML with 100 user informations, then my PDF crashes. If I import a XML with 50 user informations, then it works fine. Anything beyond that count causes the PDF to close automatically. I believe, its the number of fields which causes the problem. I may be wrong.
I also needs to enter 100 user informations by adding rows one by one. The PDF becomes very slower when I add beyond 35th row. I'm using Livecycle designer 8.0 for designing dynamic PDFs and using Adobe reader 8.1.0 for viewing.
Can anyone help me on this?

The first page to look at where I had the most recent, most completed page, is - about.html. That will be my template for the rest. Also, there was supposed to be a feed from my blog showing up on this page; it was also perfect at first. Then, my shaded black site links section and and the copyright footer quit showing up. When I commented out the blog feed code, the footers showed up again. At one time, it all was working. so this is yet another problem I cannot figure out why stuff is changing seemingly by itself.
These pages were originally created in an online tool called webflow.com. It worked great, but they did not honor the full trial changes before they made site updates that eliminated any free use at all. This code for all files and images were exported into a zip file. The CSS files are titles as follows, in the css directory:
normalize.css
timothy-hartwell.css
webflow.css

Designing randomness and unpredictability into an iWeb designed site?

Hi guys,
I am have been going tto one-to-one sessions with Apple trainers at the Apple store to design a site that essentially displays quotes from great teachers, one at a time.
Visitors will click on a link in a window and a quote will appear.
I want these links to be so unidentifiable from one another, and so impossible to track after the fact that visitors cannot select to click on any of them other than as if they are shooting darts in the dark. Flash not being an option with iWeb, I am looking for suggestions from you guys. Apple trainers themselves have not come up with anything.
Any ideas?

Dynamic Report Design - Adhoc Report

I have a requirement like designing dynamic report in the web.
User can be able to edit the report which I am showing in the browser.
He will pull few extra columns from the table which i used in the report.
How is this possible.

Moving iWeb designs from one machine to another?

Okay,
I've had time to use iLife apps enough to figure out a few things in the new "iWeb", but here is one that scratches my brain.
Where does iWeb save designs?
I have a design I have created on my PBook, but I would love to move it to my G5 so that I can work in it when I get home? -But where does it save the assets to the current pages? -am I stuck on creating and managing pages on one machine? And if I do, is there no way from the source area to be able to select a page and delete it from the site structure if I don't like the design or content?

Where does iWeb save designs?
Users/usename/Library/Application Support/iWeb/Domain
Move this file to the other machine to work on the site there.

Erased hard drive - lost iWeb design

I designed a web site using iWeb and published it through my own web host (not .mac). I upload it using Fetch. Last week, I had to reinstall my system software and lost all my stuff, including my iWeb files. I've reinstalled Fetch and iWeb and I've downloaded the site back onto my computer. Is there a way for me to now import the site back into iWeb so that I can update it?

iWeb can't open HTML files.
You need the Domain.sites file created by iWeb but you wrote over that file with your re-install.
If you have any back ups of that file you can bring it back into your Home folder and iWeb will recognize it.

Dynamic table design - building in links

I am working on a site using dynamic database tables to populate [products - features-]
which is mostly straightforward, but this is a new area for me. Have checked the FAQs and forums and can't track down a solution.
My challenge is to include a table field which will deal with Affiliate Link cookies, so that this link will be poplated to the table as it appears on the site.
Can anybody point me in the right direction please?

Please help me find out stats on how many visits to the site, etc.
