Dynamic Link doesn't know I have Production Premium in Premiere Pro 5.5

I am having an unusual problem with my new Production Premium suite.
I previously had After Effects CS5 and the month-to-month Premiere Pro CS5.5.  When I tried to use Adobe Dynamic Link to bring After Effects compositions into Premiere Pro, I'd get a message saying that feature is only possible with the Production Premium and Master Collection suites.
I have since purchased the Production Premium suite.  I have uninstalled the earlier instance of Premiere Pro, leaving only the Production Premium one.
If I wanted to import Premiere Pro sequences into After Effects with the Dynamic Link menu, it will let me.  I don't, though -- I want to import my After Effects compositions into Premiere Pro.  However when I try to do that, I get the same error message I used to about how I need one of those two suites, even though I am now using one of them.
Anyone have this problem or know a fix?
Thanks.
R

You were close, though Cleaner only (albeit very completely) uninstalls Adobe suites.
The problem turned out to be that I had a standalone copy of After Effects previously installed.  There was no way to get CS5.5 to understand that I ALSO had Production Premium.  I uninstalled the standalone copy and it's worked since.
Thanks.
R.

  • Adobe Premiere Pro CS5 Dynamic Link not working as part of Production Premium CS5

I ran into a situation whereby I recently reinstalled my Production Premium CS 5 onto a new computer and when trying to run the Dynamic Link out of Premiere PRO CS 5 to create a new After Effects composition, After Effects tried to start up but then crashed with the error that Production Premium was needed.
Yet, I had Production Premium CS5.
(Note:  The crash didn't occur when I simply tried to use Dynamic Link without anything selected in my project or timeline - but the moment I had a clip in my timeline selected to work on it, the dynamic link would not work as covered above.)
In checking around the forums I found various answers to this problem such as rebooting the computer, reformatting hard drives and/or whatever.  This all may be correct.
However, as I just went through that nightmare, I was not anxious to do that again.  So, I called Adobe and the following solution solved the matter in 5 minutes:
    1. Close all your other Adobe applications such as After Effects.
    2. Open up Premiere Pro CS5 and then deactivate it by going to HELP>DEACTIVATE and then Permanently Deactivate.
3.Close the application and restart Premiere Pro CS5.
4.Then do the same to Activate it.
    5. Have your serial number handy and plug it in when prompted.
Solved it right away and worked beautifully.
Not to say there couldn't be more complicated situations, but the above worked and the simpler the better is good for me. And I thought I would post this in case anyone else ran into this problem.

    Thanks for posting your solution.

  • PP to AE Dynamic link doesn't create video layer in AE

PP to AE Dynamic link doesn't create video layer in AE. CC2014 updated.
I'm DynLink sending a MotionJpeg clip from PP to AE. On my MacPro, Right clicking clip in PPro> replace with AE Comp. AE opens showing the comp but no video layer in the comp, (the comp is completely blank), and in PPro shows a comp in the Project Panel and a blank video chip in the timeline. This used to be a simple proceedure, is there a setting to enable in Project Settings I don't know about. New to CC, used to do this all the time in CS6.

It looks like you've got collapse transformations turned on and that the Footage layer is a composition. I'd guess that the Maria Isabel.avi in the Maria Isabel.avi composition is 2D. With Collapse transformations turned on what you are seeing is normal behavior.
What you want to do is to simply right click on the Maria avi in the Premiere timeline and select Replace with After Effects Composition. Once inside AE don't pre-compose the avi layer, just make it 3D.
The other option would be to open up the Maria Isabel.avi composition and do your 3D transformations there.
Yet another option wold be to turn off Collapse transformations.
I'm not sure why the Maria Isabel.avi footage was Pre-comped. I can't see anytning in the screenshot that gives me a reason.

  • Dynamic Linking Doesn't Renew

I use AME exstensively, normally no issues (lot's of FLash, MPEGs, WMV from various sources).
There is one little thing that seems to crop up when  I'm using a dynamic link from AE or PrP.
Once a sequence of comp is linked and I make a change in the original file and then go back to AME the old file content is cached abnd doesn't change. I can remove the file from the queue and replace it but the old content is still there.
If I shut down AME and then reload the link again in the new istance, the new file content is there.
AM I missing something here? Or is there a caching bug bitting me.

    Jim:
Thanks for the thoughts. I understand your answer and we're missing the mark here.  Let me explain:
Step one: Load a sequence or comp in a dynamic link.
Step two: Discover an error. Stop rendering (Let's say a misspelled title).
Step Three: Go back to AE or PrP and make correction.
Step Four: Go back to AME and reload , not duplicate, the repaired file.  However the repaired file is not what reloads. You will get the same earlier version that need the fix.  So,
Step Five: Close AME, reopen and load the file in question again.  This will show the fresh file and rending can begin again.
I understand reloading the repaired file, but I shouldn't have to shut down AME to reload a dynamically linked file.
If I am in AE or Premiere or even Encore,  and I change an outside file such as a PSD or other file, the version loads on refresh (or sooner) as it should be.
I'm running a 64 bit platform here with Cuda graphics, and plenty of memory on a machine that only has Creative suite installed, nothing else.
      Back to you

HT1926 I am getting this message when loading Itunes after updating to the latest upgrade..The procedure entry point uloc_getLocaleforLCID_4_0 could not be located in the dynamic link library icuuc40.dll (i have windows 7)

Taken at face value, you're having trouble with an Apple Application Support program file there. (Apple Application Support is where single copies of program files used by multiple different Apple programs are kept.)
Let's try something relatively simple first. Restart the PC. If you're using Vista or 7,now head into your Uninstall a program control panel, select "Apple Application Support" and then click "Repair". If you're using XP, head into your Add or Remove Programs control panel, select "Apple Application Support", click "Change" and then click "Repair".
If no joy after that, try the more rigorous uninstall/reinstall procedure from the following post. (If you've got XP, although the procedure is for Vista and 7, just read "Computer" as "My Computer", read "Uninstall a program control panel" as "Add or Remove programs control panel" and assume the system is 32-bit, and you'll be doing the right things.)

I have 64 bit windows 7 and CS4 Production Premium. I have a problem with Premiere Pro CS4, it keeps freezing and Crashing. A simple thing like leaving the project idle for about 15 minutes, you come back and find that it has frozen. Also if you drag out a clip on the timeline you will find that the whole application freezes. Any possible solutions would be much appreciated.

  • 11.2 iTunes update has made me unable to open iTunes. It says "The procedure entry point ADiAdID_AquireMatchSlotIfNecessary could not be located in the dynamic link library iAdCore.dll" I have done everything imaginable! Please help?!

I deleted, reinstalled, searched, enabled, disabled--EVERYTHING and yet iTunes will not open! This is exactly why I hate updates rom Apple because they do this time and time again. I deleted multiple .dll files and nothing has worked. This is a glitch from the newest update 11.2. It says: "The procedure entry point ADiAdID_AquireMatchSlotIfNecessary could not be located in the dynamic link library iAdCore.dll" and I have no idea what the heck that means!
If there is anybody that is having similar issues and know of what the issue might be, please help =[
    Thanks.

Hi, Did you strip out all components, delete the named folders and reboot as in the second box of  Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates?
Checking on my computer here (Windows XP SP3 32 bit) I have one copy of iAdCore.dll in the main \Program Files\iTunes folder with the following properties:
    Size 3,004  KB
    Created 8th May 2014
    Modified 8th May 2014
    File Version 1.0.0.1
    Product Version 1.0.0.1
I'll try to get a look at 64-bit system later to confirm the correct path.

  • Dynamic Link doesn't bring dissolves across to AE

Since I can't render out of Premiere (and i've done everything suggested to remedy the problem... uninstall, reinstall, clean script, spin around three times in my chair while drinking green tea... EVERYTHING.), i've resorted to bringing the project into AE and rendering out from there.
Problem now is, whether i dynamic link to the project or if i just import the Premiere project, all my simple transitions (dissolves!) don't come across. Example, I have a color matte (white) fading up over a clip dissolving to another clip, but it comes into AE as a hard cut. And this is true for ALL my transitions. Whether they are on their own fading in and out over video, or dissolving between 2 clips on the same video track.
I don't want to say that Premiere CS4 is garbage, but its garbage! If it wasn't going to work, it'd be best if it just didn't let you import anything. Then at least you couldn't start your project. Instead we do everything like we have been trained to do with adobe products and we get screwed in the end. It'd be like buying a car, that opens, starts when you turn the key, goes when you press the gas... just won't stop when you slam on the brakes. Sort of like that...
Any help or insight would be great!
    Thanks.
    I'm on a mac, 10.5 (leopard)

This is what I have tried to tell other people that this method does not always work...it might not even work for the easiest of projects. As you are seeing.
I take it you updated all your versions to 4.0.1.
Did you update all your hardware drivers?

  • Creative Cloud doesn't 'know' I have a full susbscription

    Hi
I have a subscrition to Creative Cloud, however, even tho I'm signed in the menu bar at the top still asks me to 'upgrade' and the Apps section invites me to "try" the apps rather than download them. i have tried everything I can think of to coax the site to behave but it stubbornly refuses to do so. Any fix? Just to be clear, I'm definately signed in the account drop down top right of the screen knows it's me and displays my e-mail address. If I click on my account button it takes me to my account in which my subscription payment is recorded.
For similar reasons I suspect, I don't see any way of taking advantage of my 5 web basic websites as business catalyst doesn't seem to know I have a creative cloud membership. Any help in resolving this issue would be great.
    cheers

  • Lightroom 5 already installed, so why does the CC updater give me the option to "Install"?  Seems it doesn't know I have it installed.

    Any suggestions?
    Thanks

Thanks for the reply.  Okay, I'm going to take a risk and install it from the CC updater.  I checked the installed version I have and it's 5.0.  Not 5.5.  I installed 5.0 originally from the CC updater app so still not sure why it doesn't seem to know I have 5.0 installed already.  Every other CC app (photoshop, illustrator, premier pro, etc.) just lets me know when there is an update available.
Anyway, I am installing 5.5 now from the updater so hopefully this will update the existing 5.0 that I have installed rather than install a separate 5.5 (meaning I now have 2 different versions of Lightroom on my mac).  And hopefully my catalog will be available and intact.
    Will let you know.
    Thanks,

Tech support was finally able to correct the problem.  He went into the appdata folder and renamed the dynamic link manager file.  Then he restarted Photoshop,  which then automatically recreated the file.  Such a simple solution.

  • Have Production Premium CS6 and cant reinstall Speedgrade?

Hi there... I have Adobe Production Premium CS6 and I seem to remmeber installing Speedgrade a long time ago, long enough to tinker with and decide I didnt really want it, so I uninstalled it.  Now I think I may actually need it, but I cant find how to reinstall it, it doesnt appear in my apps, only the trial for Speedgrade CC, yet Im sure speedgrade cs6 was bundled in my Production Premium ?

You may have to use Adobe Production Premium CS6 installation media to re-install Speedgrade
