Dynamic Link Problem beim Batchencoden???

Operator error. Answered my own question. I haven't used Dynamic Link much. It works fine. I was momentarily confusing the import of a PP project vs. a Dynamic Linked Sequence.

  • CS4 Dynamic Link Problem

Is anybody having trouble keeping the source files linked in After Effects after using dynamic link from Premiere?

    This is very frustrating.
    Thanks for your time!

Did some more tests and here is what does and doesn't work for me.
    Losing footage -
Yes I was having the issue (and the topic is in the premiere forum also)
Here is what seems to solve it.
It loses the footage if I use the original folder which has spaces in the name. Not sure if that is the culprit but both methods proved consistent in every test I did.
it worked when I used a new folder called "Test" at the root of my editing drive.
    Crashing-
Not sure if other have the issue but when I close AE, PPro will just sit there with an hour glass and show as not responding.
If I close PPro first and then AE and reopen PPro then all seems to work as it is supposed to.
This was also consistent in every test I did.

  • Dynamic Link Problem

I have a Vista system using CS4 suite with plenty of memory and storage.
I know this is probably not stricky a PP problem but I have gotten no response in the Encore forum.
I had been sucessfull in creating large multi sequence projects in PP, accessing them in Encore using the dynamic link feature, then building DVDs.
Since the first of the year (2010) I cannot build a DVD using the dynamic link.
Now they all end in errors: Memory Allocation Error & Unable to Create Image Buffer.
Please give me a hint to where to go to solve this problem.
I liked using the dynamic link - It was much quicker than creating intermediate files to build a DVD.

    Actuallly...wrong (master/slave).. tried it.
    But did find the solution:
I changed drive letter designations so that the DVD drive letter comes up first in the alphabet. It is now Encore default drive.
But thanks for input..it got me to thinking.

  • Dynamic link problem, PPro cs5 - AE cs5, multi-cam sequence

This is odd. I'm working on a two camera interview in Production Premium CS5. Did the standard stuff - a source sequence with both cameras, did some rough editing here (syncing the two cameras, trimming the clips, etc.). Then nested the source sequence into a multi-cam edit sequence. Used the multi-cam monitor to switch back and forth between cameras, etc. All is good.
But my editor wants to make three separate videos from this interview. So the logical thing (so I thought anyway) would be to nest this muiti-cam edit squence into three separate target sequences. Then I could get the camera switching done just once, and slice-'n-dice the three target sequences to make the short-'n-sweet individual videos that make my editor happy. Did this for the first target (a single question and answer). The result looks fine in PPro, and editor approves. All that's left is adding the lower thirds.
Everything fine until I go to export to AE via dynamic link so I can add lower thirds and finish up. What PPro sends to AE isn't just my target sequence, but it also sends the multi-cam edit sequence and the source sequence as well. But.... it ignores it all and will only show me the Acam footage. Bcam doesn't show up at all. Clearly this isn't working. But now I find that I can't even break the links. So I can't even start over. Sigh...
Two questions: First, how does one export a multi-cam edit sequence via dynamic link from PPro to AE, and have it show up in AE looking like it does in PPro? In other words, what did I do wrong?
Second, how can I recover from this? Do I really have to delete my target sequence in PPro and start over (and by extension, delete the AE project also)? Is there no way to sever a dynamic link once it's made?
    Bruce Watson

Um.... didn't work. Seems that AE and PPro have different ideas of what "transparency" mean. The lower thirds composition in AE has a transparent (black) background which works fine in AE (I've used this lower thirds quite a bit in AE so I know it works pretty well), but when I import it into PPro it shows as white, and is completely opaque. Lettering doesn't show up either (but the letters are white so that's not such a surprise given the background), but the motion is still there. None-the-less, either way I tried it (copy and paste, or export from AE as a PPro project, then import it in PPro and drag the AE built sequence to the timeline) didn't work.
Trying to export just the lower third comp from AE through dynamic link as a PPro project didn't work either. Failed weirdly. It popped up the right sequence creation box in PPro, so I could pick AVCHD 1080p30 as the sequence type (matching the other sequences in the project), and created the new sequence with the correct name. But the sequence was empty. It wouldn't let me drag the lower third sequence anywhere either, so I couldn't put it on a timeline.
Sigh... this isn't supposed to be this difficult. But hey, if it was easy anyone could do it, yes?

  • 3d camera tracking and Warp Stabilser VFX Dynamic link problem

A solution here. My 3d camera Tracking and Warp Stabiliser VFX were not linking with Dynamic link and I was getting UNABLE TO OBTAIN DYNAMIC LINK PROJECT.
After a long time with adobe it came down to one old .jsx java script loaded in AE to load a default project template. So just check your imported scripts. This worked on 3 versions of AE on 2 different machines. Hope that helps

Thanks for sharing what worked for you. That's really interesting. I wonder how many of these kinds of errors could have been solved with that. I'll definitely try to remember this one for future forum posters.

  • Any ideas on this dynamic link problem I'm having.....?? CS4

Installed the full Production Premium CS4 package under Win7, 64-bit.
If I right click a clip in Premiere and select "Replace with an After Effects Composition," AE opens, clip appears and I can add an effect, etc.
I can also save the AE project.
However, I can never get back into Premiere. I just get the spinning circle.
Timeline shows, "Replace with AE Composition" where the clip was.
And, I must close AE first before I can close Premiere, so it appears that AE is communicating with it, but just not completely.
Same exact thing happens with Soundbooth and Photoshop. I can get data in and modify it, but never return it to Premiere.
I've reset the preferences (shift ^ alt) at startup of Premiere and AE to no avail.
Haven't seen anything in searching the forum that helps, so I'm wondering if this rings any bells for anyone?
    TIA,

Some additional information about the problem:
Open Premiere with "Run as Administrator"
Right click on a clip (doesn't matter which) and select "replace with AE composition"
AE opens and asks for a filename. Task Manager (TM) indicates "Running" for AE and "Not Responding" for Pr.
Give filename and AE opens with the selected clip from Pr. TM indicates both as "Running."
Can return to Pr and then go back to AE. Can "File\Save" in both.
However, when I add an effect in AE - e.g., Brightness/Contrast, the effect works fine in AE but if I return to Pr, just get the spinning wheel and TM says "Not Responding" for Pr. AE is still "Running."
If I click in the timeline, or any other "box" in Pr, it goes "whitish" or semi-transparent or fades. Hard to describe exactly.
Every box I click in does the same. Spinning wheel never stops and Pr never recovers.
State of the system at that point is as follows:
Once there was another program that appeared in TM called "droverloard.exe" that appeared and was also "Not Responding."
I'm about out of ideas here, so hopefully this will jog someone's memory about what's going on...
    TIA,

  • Adobe After Effects Dynamic Link Problem (Please Help!)

Hello i've recently had this problem when i open Adobe it takes a while then i get a message come up about not having Quicktime not installed (Which i do have installed and the latest version) and then it comes up with another message reading this:
after effects error: Crash in progress. Last Logged message was: <1076> <Dynamiclink> <5> C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\dynamiclink\cs6\dynamiclinkmanager.exe
Please can someone tell me what to do?

The only thing I can figure out is that you are running a Widows operating system and AE CS6.
In many cases the message that you don't have QucikTime installed is because you have some 3rd party codec packs installed that are fouling up the pointers to QT. If we knew more about your system, the OS version, and what kind of video files you're using we may be able to give you more help.
One last thing. Have you run the latest CS6 updates?

  • Adobe dynamic link problem with AE projects.

    Hi,
I have 2 After Effects projects in the same directory, slide.aep and slide 2.aep. The trouble is that Premiere keeps linking to slide 2.aep when I tell it to link to slide.aep. Both the AE projects have the same composition name inside them.
    Is this a bug?

I have been dealing with this issue ever since CS4.  PITA.
The way around it is to have TWO different Comps in the SAME Project.
I.E...slide.aep and slide 2.aep both under the same project utilizing two different compositions.

  • Premiere Pro CS5.5 Dynamic Linking Broken

I have a project in Premiere Pro CS5.5. Brough in all my greenscreen footage and did my edits. When I got picture lock from client I "replace with after effects comp" and did my keying in AE. This worked great throughout the project until yesterday when doing some final tweaks. Premiere would not load all the media, it got to 222 items reamaing and stalled, for hours! Then I moved the folder where all my graphics where and skipped the files when loading premiere and premiere then opened. I relinked all my graphics just fine, but when it came to relinking my AE dynamic link projects, got the spinning beach ball. I figured I would just let it spin overnight and see what happened in the am. 12 hours later it was still spinning. This is very frusterating and I can't think what I did to mess it up or if it's a dynamic link problem. I may have opened and edited the AE project without premiere open, maybe thats what messed it up. Any thoughts?
    Mac Pro 8-core 3ghz
    12 GB ram
    6TB fibre channel drive
    Mac OS 10.7.3
Adobe Production Premium CS5.5 (all up to date)

I've heard of other issues with DL from AE, but not this one... the problem I'm used to seeing is that you've got the wrong footage, and that's usually fixed by unlinking and relinking, which you've done. I rarely use AE myself, and when I do, I've generally found that I get better results by NOT using DL... but I know it should work, so perhaps someone else will have some answers for you. As long as you have the AE project still, you can always just render out your comps as lossless AVIs with UT or Lagarith and then import those to PrPro and replace the DL clips...

  • Premiere Pro CS6 issue with AME/Dynamic Link

    Hello,
I'm having a quite frustrating problem with Premiere PRO CS6. Let me tell you my configuration first:
    Intel i7 860, 8Gb Ram, 2x1Tb HD in Raid 0, GeForce GTX570 Ti 2Gb DDR5, Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit, Adobe Creative Cloud subscription.
When I try to put in the AME's queue any Premiere's composition, I can see the window saying "Exporting...." but then nothing happens. AME doesn't start or, if it's already open, it doesn't receive anything on the queue.
I've tried to import the timeline's directly from AME, but it doesn't work either.
It has been a few days I'm fighting with this problem and I already have done this:
    1) Uninstall/Clean Install all the software inside the Creative Cloud subscription and all updates applied.
    2) clean any preset both in Premiere and AME by keeping down Alt+Shift when starting the applications.
    3) disable/enable antivirus software (Microsoft Security Essentials) and firewall (default windows 7 firewall).
    4) disable/enable the CUDA Mercury engine.
None of this solved the problem.
However I've noticed that each time I try to send something from Premiere to AME appears a general error in notifications saying just "invalid menu operation".
Since, as I've said, I tried also a clean installation, right now I'm really out of options and I would really appreciate any suggestion how to fix this problem. Thanks.
    Martin

That has solved a few annoying Dynamic Link problems for me.
As a point of interest, the connection between Premiere Pro and AME isn't a Dynamic Link.  It's more of a 'static' link.  The point of a Dynamic Link is that any changes made in the original program will show up in the secondary program.  That does not happen here.  The sequence is 'saved' from PP as it is at the time the export is started and AME works off of that saved sequence.  Changes made after that do not show up in AME automatically.
So whatever the error, it is not related to Dynamic Link.
