Dynamic List in WPC didn't work

Hi Experts
I've created a new site in WPC and a few wpc-articles which a stored in a shared folder in KM. I've done the configuration for the dynamic List WPC-iView like sorting, number of articles etc. The start-folder is /documents/news BUT at runtime no items (articles) are displayed. The List is empty. I think it cannot be a permission thing because I'm logged in as super Admin.
Thanks for helping
Christian

I've just been restoring the actual photos. No library.
When I look in the "pictures" folder, there is nothing. 0 mg
Somehow iPhoto totally crashed and took all my photos with it.
You'd THINK they'd be SOMEWHERE on my computer, but I guess they are not. Makes me afraid to even use iPhoto anymore for my photos. I've NEVER had this problem with iPhoto before. Never. And I've been using it for 6 years, thus 6 years of photos. Sigh

• WPC 7.3 : Dynamic List : pager

We have been working in WPC 7.3 with Dynamic Lists : this can be used to display news items similar to XML forms, mixed with own forms.
The Dynamic List iView, once added onto the WPC page can be configured to display the number of items.
Example : 4 items. Letu2019s say we have 6 items, then only the four u2018newestu2019 are shown.
What is missing here is a u2018pageru2019 at the bottom , in case somebody wants to see the other two, older items.
There is no standard pager in the KMCWPC05P_3-10008779.SCA file -> com.sap.nw.wpc.dynamicList.sda project.
Before we actually start to develop our own Dynamic List project with pager : anybody managed to add this piece of vital coding?
Or perhaps this is planned for the future?

I got a solution regarding this topic.
I followed these steps:
You must set the number of items in you example to six or higher (in your example, the remaining two items wouldn't even get rendered)
You surrounded your Dynamic List layout with "
...
"
In your theme, you implement a JQuery Paginator (e.g. look here), which works with the list-elements
Tell your paginator to show four items per page
I got something going like this:

• WPC - Dynamic List - Link to the page of an wpc_article

Dear all,
Im working with dynamic Lists to show a list view of my wpc_articles.
In the default settings the elements of the list have a link directly to an article. Therefor the property "contentLink" is used.
I wanna change this link to the page where an article is placed. So Im wondering:
Is there anyway to get the path of a page from the article instance e.g. a property like "parentString" or something like that?!
Thanks in advance.
Greetings,

Thanks for the answer.
Guess i have to put everything I need in the article element so i do not need to show the page.
Another question occured to me while I was doing that:
When I navigate from a Dynamic List to an Element, it should be possible to navigate back and forth with the buttons I created using the history api.
Instead of the "<a href..." in the default dynamic list I created an onclick event. Right now im trying to navigate to the article with its guid and the method "EPCM.doNavigate(...)" but until know i haven't been able to get it done.
Is it even possible to reach that goal and in case it is am I on the right track or is there a better approach available?!
Thanks in advance...
Greetings,

• Is WPC dynamic list recursively showing content?

Hi guys,
I have this KM folder structure with WPC's articles:
FOLDER 1
|
|_ FOLDER A
|     |_ article a.1
|     |_ article a.2
|
|_ FOLDER B
|     |_ article b.1
|     |_ article b.2
|
|_ article 1.1
|_ article 1.2
articles 1.1 and 1.2 are direct children of Folder1 (ie: they are sibling for Folder A and Folder B). I hope it's clear :S
Here comes the trouble. I'm using a WPC Dynamic List pointing to Folder 1, but instead of showing only articles 1.1 and 1.2, the list is populated with ALL articles within Folder 1 and Folder A and Folder B.
I'm guessing it is reading the folder structure recursively. I need to display ONLY the two last articles (article 1.1 and 1.2).
Is this a bug or, by the opposite, is the expected behavior?
Thanks in advance.
Best Regards,
Marcelo

• Attribute substitution not working in templates for dynamic lists

Hi all,
dynamic lists were introduced in APEX 4.1 and they can be used for drop-down menus. I am trying to use attribute substitution #A01#...#A10# in the templates without success.
Here is a sample select statement

SELECT level,
short_title label,
'f?p=myapp:1:0::::MYAPP_ID:'||id target,
'NO' is_current,
NULL image,
'm'||TO_CHAR(id) attribute1
FROM mytable
START WITH parent_id = :MYAPP_ROOT_ID
CONNECT BY PRIOR id = parent_id
ORDER SIBLINGS BY seq_in_parent

and here a snippet from the template
List Template Noncurrent
<li class="dhtmlMenuItem"><a id="#A01#" href="#LINK#">#TEXT#</a></li>
The substitution is not being made. It looks like a bug but maybe I'm missing something.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Regards Garry

Hi Garry,
When the list query is parsed, it's not the column alias that deciphers which parameters you're trying to set, it's the positioning of the parameter in the query itself. So, for example, if a user wishes to set the #A01# attribute, like in your case, then the value returned by the 8th parameter in the query will be used. In your original query, you only supplied 6 parameters i.e. up to the image attribute setting. If you're not setting anything for the image attributes, then you simply set those values to null. The syntax for the query should be similar to the following:
select level,
labelValue               label,
[targetValue]            target,
[is_current]             is_current_list_entry,
[imageValue]             image,
[imageAttributeValue]    image_attribute,
[imageAltValue]          image_alt_attribute,
[attribute1]             attribute1,
[attribute2]             attribute2,
[attribute3]             attribute3,
[attribute4]             attribute4,
[attribute5]             attribute5,
[attribute6]             attribute6,
[attribute7]             attribute7,
[attribute8]             attribute8,
[attribute9]             attribute9,
[attribute10]            attribute10
from ...
where ...
order by ...Regards,

• Using variable in dynamic list queries

How can we use a variable value like metadata value of the parent content in the dynamic list query?
I tried something following ways but the query was not picking up the value of xCountries.
dDocType <matches> `State` <AND> xCountries <matches> xCountries
dDocType <matches> `State` <AND> xCountries <matches> `xCountries`
dDocType <matches> `State` <AND> xCountries <matches> `$xCountries`
dDocType <matches> `State` <AND> xCountries <matches> ``
None of them worked. But when I printed the on the secondary page for the selected country the value is getting printed.

Hi Bex,
You were right. Eval function call was helpful here.
The problem was resolved only to an extent by using the eval function. This is
evaluating the query string given in parameters window for ssQueryText to
correct value. We used the eval() function in the dynamic list fragment. The
format of query we were trying earlier was incorrect. The correct format is like
this
dDocType <matches> `City` <AND> xCountries <matches> `<$xCountries$>` <AND>
xStates <matches> `<$xStates$>`
There is another problem though. We are able to add new states or cities by
going to the specific state page or to the cit page and then edit it. But if we
click edit on a secondary page e.g. on a State page(which contains list of
cities) the correct values for cities are not getting populated in the Cities
dynamic list in state edit window. Possible cause is that the eval function is
not called in the edit window (which shows all applets), instead the eval
function is called only in dynamic list fragment which is evaluated in the
secondary page template for State. How can we make the eval function execute in
the edit window as well?
In fact the query is failing from paramters window itself. If I use Test Query
it is returning 0 results.
Is there a work around to address this problem? Hope I didn't confuse much.

Pratap

• Sorting dynamic listing by element definition field.

Hi,
Does any one know how to sort a dynamic listing by one of the regional definition field?
My situation is currently sorting is done by dDocTitle (). The title that is displayed in website(h1) has a different title from dDocTitle. So although it is sorting by dDocTitle, it looks random in the live website.
So I was wondering if there is a way to sort dynamic listing by one of the element definition field.
I was hoping that something like this will work but it didn't

Thanks.
Edited by: K0907163 on 23-Nov-2011 03:00

Wish there was a way, but unfortunately I don't think there is without building your own custom sort. SortField only takes metadata fields.
My suggestion is to have your users actually use dDocTitle (or a different metadata field), as opposed to ContentPage/Title/node().

Started a Itunes software update this morning which didn't work. Now Itunes will not open at all. I get the following message."The program can't state becasue MSVCR80.dll is missing from your computer."

There are a couple of options that I know of to fix the issue.
One is listed in this thread - https://discussions.apple.com/message/24606478#24606478 - and involves uninstalling iTunes and related components and then re-installing iTunes. You will need to read the instructions in the thread to see the correct uninstall order.
Second option is use System Restore to set your system back to a date prior to the iTunes update. I did this before finding the thread mentioned above.
Not sure exactly what the problem is but I know, after a search, that MSVCR80.dll was indeed already installed on my computer.

I would try another restore of the hard disk to its original out-of-the-box contents using Toshiba recovery media. Maybe something went wrong in the process. Make sure everything works before applying any updates and adding any hardware or software.
Then add things carefully, rebooting Windows and testing the USB and audio at each step.
Please note this.
The only info windows gives me for the sound card is that it from Microsoft... with a driver version of 6.1.7601.17514....which naturally doesn't really help me since I have no idea what card or mobo I have . Is there any way for me to find out what I need other than opening up my laptop?
Every one of them lists my mobo simply as a Toshiba motherboard, with no audio card information. Which I'm assuming that is because it has an internal sound processor. My problem is that none of the properties, or ANYTHING I try, will give me information on what I need to fix this...
All of the latest drivers for your model are easily found here. This one is for the sound.

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar.
Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Then try the action that you're having trouble with again. Select any messages that appear in the Console window. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).

• Referencing a "checked record" from my ADDT Dynamic List using a SPRY Menu

I have just posted a Beta of my site to:
http://www.clearwave.biz/Beta/T1COElogin.cfm
- Username is: Beta
- Password is: 123
- Once you are logged in you should see the ADDT list w/one
order listed.
- Click on the Printer icon & the Order Agreement will
open in PDF. (this works fine)
- Click on the InfoSheet link & the Report will open in
PDF as well. (this works fine)
- Everything works fine if you use the links on the same line
as the record.
- But if you check the CheckBox on the left, then choose the
Spry Menu above, Reports/T1 Agreement the report will not work?
Question: What should the Link be to reference the checked
item below, pass the CustID value to the report & print the
PDF?
(Note: the CF report has the following line in the SQL:
(tblT1OrderProcessing2.T1CustID = #param.T1CustID#) and the report
prints fine in Report Builder if I pass it the T1CustID, as well as
if I click the links on the same line as mentioned above, so this
is just an issue of grabbing the CustID value from the checked line
& passing it to the report link in the Spry menu)
Here is a visual picture of my Dynamic List page:
http://cerberus.clearwave.com/jerry/Order_Management_Main_Page.jpg
Thanks in advance for the help,

Here is the Report URL that works perfectly when clicking the
Printer icon on the right of my List:
http://www.clearwave.biz/Beta/reports/T1_Service_Agreement.cfm?T1CustID=1508
and the link to the InfoSheet:
http://www.clearwave.biz/Beta/reports/T1_Information_Sheet.cfr?T1CustID=1508
Both of these work perfectly by grabbing the T1CustID value
of 1508 from the line.

• Dynamic list of values in CR 2008 - request of login to database

I am using CR2008 with VB2005. I created simple application which generate report on different SQL Server 2005 databases.
Report uses OLE.DB connection to SQL Server, I pass logon information in VB using "SA" username and password. The same simple report works great on different databases with one exception: if parameter (dynamic list of values) is used in report it runs correctly only on database it was created (connection to this database is saved in report and can be seen in Database->Set Datasource Location). Changing connection to other databases in VB during runtime causes CR to ask for username and password (in standard parameter window). It looks, like Crystal have one connection for report and the other for dynamic list of values parameter. I pass connection information to report using ConnectionInfo(). I loop through alll tables in report and apply connection:
For Each crTable In crTables
crTableLogOnInfo = crTable.LogOnInfo
crTableLogOnInfo.ConnectionInfo = crConnectionInfo
crTable.ApplyLogOnInfo(crTableLogOnInfo)
Next
I tried to pass connection information also to parameter but I couldn't find such possibility.

This is a known issue (Tracking number is ADAPT01333806.) and a note has been written, unfortunately it is not yet published. Below is the note content, including a work-around / resolution. You may also want to try FP 2.3, see that helps. (I'll break this post into two as I'll loose the formatting if I don't.
Reproducing the Issue
Use Crystal Reports 2008 SP2 to create a report with dynamic parameter(s)
Use the following code from the Crystal Reports SDK for VS .NET
Dim crDatabase As Database
Dim crTables As TablesDim crTable As Table
Dim crTableLogOnInfo As TableLogOnInfo
Dim crConnectionInfo As ConnectionInfo
crReportDocument.Load("")
crReportDocument.Refresh()
crConnectionInfo = New ConnectionInfo()
With crConnectionInfo
.ServerName = "<New Server Name>"
.Password = "<password>"
End With
crDatabase = crReportDocument,Database
crTables = crDatabase.Tables
For Each crTable In crTables
crTableLogOnInfo = crTable.LogOnInfo
crTableLogOnInfo.ConnectionInfo = crConnectionInfo
crTable.ApplyLogOnInfo(crTableLogOnInfo)
Next
CrystalReportViewer1.ReportSource = crReportDocument
The above code works with Crystal Reports 2008 SP 1

• I'm trying to sync my pc & laptop. It didn't work today. Didn't see buttons on sync options.

When I bought my laptop last year I set up sync for the computers. When I tried to sync today it didn't work. It has been awhile since I've run sync.
I went around in circles with the steps on the help pages.
I tried to follow the steps on the sync help pages but when I got to the sync preferences page there was a list of things to sync but no "manage account" button. I saw the reference key page in sync options and even printed a reference key on each computer, but I never saw a "change reference key" button.
Is there a way to start over with syncing the 2 computers?

Note that your System Details List shows that you have a user.js file in the profile folder to initialize some prefs on each start of Firefox.
The user.js file is only present if you or other software has created it, so normally it wouldn't be there.
You may want to check its content with a plain text editor if you didn't create this file yourself.
The user.js file is read each time you start Firefox and initializes preferences to the value specified in this file, so involved preferences can only be changed temporarily for the current session.

• Dynamic List Wizard error - can't connect to recordset or table

I'm using Windows Vista, CF 8, and DW CS3.
I have just started working with the Dynamic List Wizard and cannot get it to work. I have tried both options: get data from recordset, and get data from table. When I click on "finish" I get the following error message: Please select a connection that contains tables for updating, or click cancel.
Everything appears to be good to go. I've refreshed my recordset, my database connections, etc. Has anybody else had this issue and what is the workaround?
Also, is there a tutorial out there ANYWHERE for this part of the extension? Interakt had such great Flash demos ... what's up with Adobe? No Flash demos for this extension?
Thanks!

Backing up to a third-party NAS with Time Machine is risky, and unacceptably risky if it's your only backup. This is an example of what can happen. If the NAS doesn't work, your only recourse is to the manufacturer (which will blame Apple.)
If you want network backup with Time Machine, use as the destination either an Apple Time Capsule or an external hard drive connected to another Mac or a mini-tower (802.11ac) AirPort base station. Only the 802.11ac base station supports Time Machine, not any previous model.
